Stories from Palestinians on "Queering The Map"
[PT: Stories from Palestinians on "Queering The Map"]
First before anything : make no mistake, these people's queerness does not exceptionalize their position. They are not any more or less worthy of safety, life, or dignity than any other palestinian. Neither sexuality nor attitude towards queerness determines a human beings worthiness of basic rights, and queer palestinians should *not* need to beg for the recognition of their humanity nor that of their friends and families.
Despite that, homonationalistic rhetoric is prevalent. So, in an attempt to uncover the pinkwashing for what it is (a desperate attempt to justify genocide) here are some anecdotes directly from the mouths of queer Palestinians (and some others). Maybe this'll reach someone.

الاشي الوحيد يلي مصبرني على العيشة بغزة هو البحر و انتي = that only thing thats keeping me patient / keeping living in gaza bearable is the sea and you

I hope the people you ruin your sleep schedule for don't sigh in annoyance every time your name pops up on their phone screen.

I adopted Mister from a friend of a coworker whose husband passed recently.
My partner said he looks like a distinguished little old man...so I added onto his name a bit in honor of my favorite fictional old man.
Meet Mister Daniel Molloy.✨

🇵🇸 🍉 Introducing a New Gaza Giving Tree Initiative: Adopt-a-Campaign! 🌲🕊️
At Gaza Giving Tree, we're working tirelessly to share as many stories as possible, as quickly as possible, to help families in Gaza secure the most basic necessities for survival. EVERY post on this blog represents a life-or-death situation for the individual or family it highlights, and while we’re doing our best to queue and reblog posts equally, we’ve noticed a troubling trend: some campaigns are getting attention, while others are falling through the cracks.
Let’s change that.
The Adopt-a-Campaign initiative (a brilliant idea suggested by our friend in Palestine, @kholoodpals !) is a new way for all of us to ensure EVERY story gets the visibility it needs and deserves. VISIBILITY IS CRITICAL—these families are NOT asking for luxuries. They are fighting to SURVIVE, trying to raise funds for food, shelter, medicine, and sometimes even a ticket to safety. Every donation helps, but it's visibility that makes those donations possible!
Here’s how it works:
Visit our blog and find a campaign (or campaigns!) that speaks to your heart
Adopt that campaign by queuing it to repost as much as possible on your blog.
Encourage your friends and followers to do the same.
We’re asking for your help to amplify these voices. With your support, we can give every family the fighting chance at survival that they deserve.
Let’s come together to make sure no story gets left behind. Every story we write isn't just a story; these are real human lives on the line, and time is running out for many of them.
Adopt a campaign, share widely, and be part of this collective effort to save lives.
Together, we can give these families the hope they so desperately need.

My one regret this year was trying to change my life for the better. It's strange how healing can feel like a battle you aren't sure you'll win. Sometimes, the hardest part is just believing that you deserve more. Here's a piece of my heart, written for those still searching for their strength. 🌹🖤

❤️‍🔥 "My Heart Is a Funeral Pyre" by L.S. Vogrich 🔥
"Not everyone can be saved by love. In trying to bring salvation to another, you will destroy yourself." This poem is for anyone who has loved too deeply, lost yourself, or is trying to rebuild something beautiful from the ashes. 🫂

After being ostracized by the Christian church for my identity, I've spent almost a decade exploring faiths, searching for a path that truly resonated with my soul. I never thought I’d find the peace I was trying to find on this path, but God works in mysterious ways, so here I am. I’m not conventional by any means, and I'm still acutely aware that many would still echo the words that once drove me away—words that claimed I was unworthy of God’s love.
I’m still navigating my gender identity, and that journey isn’t over. But I’ve realized that it doesn’t have to keep me from having a relationship with God...the very same one I've loved dearly since I was small. I believe in His love and mercy, and I’ve come to understand that what matters most to Him isn’t labels or appearances, but the kind of person I am—how I live, how I treat others, and my walk with Him.
This poem is for anyone who has ever felt rejected or unloved because of who they are. If you can let go of judgment and dogma, you’ll find that God will guide you exactly where you’re meant to be, in whatever form that takes (no matter how unexpected!). His love is far greater than we imagine—and He's there, waiting, for each of us.
