And I'm not mad about it cause now it’s closer to Martyn’s canon in which it was all him and not the Watchers taking over.

Anybody else spend days working out timelines and lore and backstories just because you wanted to write a cute, small, one-shot story in your AU?

Oh, and all because you decided to be different with how your timeline went than most others' interpretations because you’re quirky and too detail-orientated and felt the need to make the timeline from the source material work with every idea you wanted.

I ended up basically writing a whole new story and figuring out the timeline. And it was only because I'm too detail-oriented and needed to know when the story occurred so that I could write minuscule details.

I'll probably share the story at some point

I love drawing, but as time goes on and I keep never finishing any fanart, I realize that I might need to come up with a new style to make drawing easier.

My current style relies heavily on references, which isn't bad, but it becomes pretty difficult when I draw fan art based on people/characters, where I can't get a reference for their heads from every angle.

I feel like I need a more cartoony style, at least for doing heads and stuff, cause while I love my current style, it makes it so difficult to do art sometimes. It would also help my perfectionism cause I wont feel like I'm failing cause the face shape isn't right. I wanna draw more often and I think changing my style might help. I just struggle with change.

Does anyone else hate when Minecraft updates add stuff?

Like why you gotta add new creatures? Now I might have to change my lore and headcanons for people cause the new creature is awesome and one of these silly little block people fits the new creature and could be a hybrid.

I have a whole lore and story to explain Minecraft updates and how they work but making new hybrids because of the updates doesn’t fully fit into the lore.

I guess now I need to create a new separate lore for new hybrids after updates.

They were made not terribly long before Pirates SMP was announced. Like I started designing it before and then finished the skin when Pirates SMP was announced.

And THEN I literally posted my them in the Pow Creations Discord server YESTERDAY and you know what happened today?!

Martyn and Ren were the last two cast members announced and they're BOTH PI-RATS

As a writer… felt

I wish writers in this fandom got more recognition than they actually do,,,there are some exceptions sure, but for the most part I feel like the authors in this fandom are always super overshadowed by the artists. It can be really disheartening when you pour all your heart into a story that only a few people see and like, while a doodle from artists get way more attention most of the time. Part of me feels like it's maybe an attention span issue? It's a lot less effort to look at a picture and rave about it than read like 1000-10000 words and do the same

This isn't hate to artists btw I love what y'all do but it just sucks sometimes as a writer that it turns out this way :(

I just found my old notes from when I first created Resistance, my Grian fanfic! Honestly, really helpful cause I had forgotten the direction I was originally heading with it.

Though I do have more ideas that I want to incorporate now, so now I’m trying to figure out the timeline of the story.

I worked a lot on the story yesterday but didn't write much in the actual story doc. I wrote so much explanation and lore to explain aspects of the story that I didn't have the mental capacity to write the story.

I worked a lot on this story, so here's hoping I actually finish and post it

Trying to write a Hermitcraft season 9 fic about Grian is really hard when you’re trying to be accurate to the timeline of events. The timeline of events is part of where the original idea came from, so it’s important, but trying to figure out timing of things is so difficult. Like I’m struggling to get the pacing of the story down cause I only need certain events.

For example, the crossover is a huge part of the story, but I only need two-three events from it. This makes me feel like I'm skipping around too much since I don't feel I should recap the entirety of the crossover, seeing as nothing besides the events changes.

Grian’s minimal uploads don't help with the feeling that I'm skipping around too much since I'm forced to do so to keep an accurate timeline. There’s legitimately a 44-day gap between the end of the crossover and Grian uploading again, and that upload is just a recap of previous events.

Just ahhhhh why is writing hard

I've started to write again and have returned to an old project! So, as a motivator for me, here's a sneak peek into the project I'm working on for you.

This is a work-in-progress piece so some of this may change in the future, but for now enjoy!

Resistance

Chapter 1



Anger and a desire for chaos rise in him as he stares at a glinting green gem. He tries to shake them off, but they continue to boil up inside. He flies home to try and get the feelings to disperse. Gliding into the rock that houses his clubhouse and safety net, he lands on his knees in front of the wall of blue sparkling vines and plants.

“Don’t start a resistance!”

“Don’t start a resistance!”

“Don’t start a resistance!”

Those four words are all that chant in his head and come out in whispers from his mouth, but they have no effect on his urge to revolt. He grabs his head as he tries to rid himself of the desire to revolt coursing through his body. He shouts as the vines wrap around him and do nothing to siphon the feelings away. He jumps up, tearing the attached vines from the ground, and flies out of the rock. The torn vines dangle from his limbs and body as he dives toward his friend’s base, shouting at him.

“No! Scar help! Scar! Scar, Scar, Scar. Scar! Scar! SCAR!” he shouts as he dives and skids to a stop near his friend.

“Yes, hello?” Scar replies, surprised.

“I- Stop me starting a resistance. Stop me starting a resistance,” he says.

“Well, hold on here,” Scar says, pulling something out of his inventory.

“I’m gonna-”

“Take a seat. Take a seat. Take a load off,” Scar says as he places two seats.

“Scar, I’m gonna start a resistance. Scar, if you don’t do something right now, I’m gonna start a resistance,” he states seriously, clapping his hands to emphasize his point.

“You’re gonna be just like Impulse, Hot Guy!” Scar says, pulling out his special bow and shooting at him.

“Do it! DO IT!” he shouts at him.

“Hot Guy, revenge! Why are you so strong?” Scar says as he struggles to kill him.

The final killing shot finally lands. He respawns in his base. And he sighs in relief.

“Crisis averted,” Grian says happily as the vines that were once dangling loosely from him now cling tightly and seep through his clothes and into his skin.

Sculk!Cub has been showing up in my feed again recently and now it’s just making me think of Sculk!Grian of which I now wanna go back to writing my fanfic of.

Man the ideas are strong but the motivation is not.

I’m probably just gonna continue with my doodles of the silly block peoples IRL faces for now and see what comes next

I’m realizing that faceless content creators are a huge struggle for me when wanting to draw or design my version of their characters.

Cause my style of art usually requires a reference photo of whatever character I’m drawing. Like unless a content creators character is fully animal I usually use a photo of their face to be the base reference of the characters head shape. (Small note: I don’t trace the references EVER)

This also includes content creators who don’t have a lot of photos of there face (*cough* *cough* Doc *cough* *cough*)

Guess I’m using Kakashi as my reference photo for when I draw Etho lol
