the most annoying part of lucifer on netflix is that he was literally right the whole time. i don't give a shit if the literal actual god was "just trying his best." lucifer was 100% right to be angry at god and in fact, i think everyone should've been downright pissed when they met him. ESPECIALLY linda. fuck her for real for telling him that his conflict with god was partially his fault. lucifer described an abusive father to her countless times and the second she met him she started fawning over him? fuck that. chloe should've punched god in the face

the fact that Israel can precisely target ONE apartment in an entire residential block in BEIRUT to kill two hamas leaders, proves once again that they CHOSE to carpet-bomb Gaza and murder 31.000 Palestinians to "defend themselves" against Hamas. The age gap between anti shippers and pro shippers should also be considered. Antis are usually young adults (under 25 or 30) or teens, Gen Z and younger Millenials . Many pros are older (from older Millennials to Boomers). Antis are a different sociological cohort who grew up on social media, instead of integrating evolving social media into a pre-existing mindset. They were either heavily warned about predators being online, or had parental restrictions in place, up to and including being banned from the internet until they were "old enough" according to their helicopter parents' arbitrary guidelines. They see predators everywhere because that's what they were told to do. Add in that many antis are American, they also grew up with active shooter drills in school and, worldwide, the looming threat of terrorism and climate change. They were raised paranoid. Fandom, which had always been more of a "live and let live" community where if you didn't like a ship you just didn't read it or view the artwork for it, suddenly had an influx of younger members who were programmed by their elders to see danger around every corner and now feel the need to eliminate a perceived threat, based on a negative emotional response to a ship. It isn't about moral outrage as much as it is about a primal fight, flight, or freeze response they need to justify in order to avoid cognitive dissonance.

Academically speaking, I still find the whole “anti-shipper” movement to be fascinating from a sociological perspective.

You have what amounts to a extremist purity cult whose beliefs align nearly precisely with those of Conservative American Christianity in terms of sexual purity politics (admittedly with some additional flourishes that I’ve watched develop in real time), but is mostly composed of minority members whose sexual-and-gender identities are opposed and oppressed by Conservative American Christianity.  Additionally, their tactics also mirror religious pro-censorship groups (such as Warriors For Innocence), but their rhetoric is entirely secularized and derived from leftist theory.

Did they arrive at this structure via convergent evolution?  Via socially dominant concepts in the greater socio-cultural space that they occupy?  I doubt it was by direct emulation but the possibility does exist on some levels.

I'm tempted by the actual honesty in marketing these things. I buy my clothes at Goodwill, though, so $40 is like 4 pants and 5 shirts, so 20 outfits vs. half an outfit. No deal.

Pants are important (and on sale right now for $40)

Pants are important. They are the foundation of human civilization. They are the only thing that separates us from animals. Have you ever seen a Panda Bear wear pants? What about a fish? Didn't think so.

Pants not only keep us warm but out of trouble. Today, go to work or school or outside without pants and see how long it takes for someone to get upset and try to get you in trouble.

Our sweatpants were overpriced. We paid too much for them (cough, cought, custom woven tag) which pushed the retail price too high. That won't happen again.

I'm sure there are those among you saying I'd never buy those, they have the word "tumblr" on them. I'd say if people are staring at your pants that carefully, carefully enough to read that it says tumblr you need to get the heck out of there.

I've put the pants on sale for $40, which is basically our cost. I'd much rather see them out in the world keeping your phone safe and warm than on my shelf judging me for being such a terrible marketer and not being able to sell them.
