Finally got Small Star Empires by @archona.games to the table and damn is it fun! If you love #Chess, #Go, or similar style area control games, this is for you! Super easy to learn, very deep level of strategy. I highly recommend picking this one up, although I hear it's out of stock. I had to beg Milan over at Archona to send me one of his personal copies. It even has an IKEA pencil for scoring 🤣. Next up I have his 2 new expansions: Dawn of Discoveries and The Galactic Divide to try out. They'll be coming to Kickstarter APRIL 11TH! Just completed games 6 & 7 of 10 for the Campaign Mode in #NearAndFar by @redravengames. I simply cannot beat my wife at this 🤣. I've won 2 of 7 matches, but total points is where it counts. She's at 483 points to my 430. 😖 We've gotten on averagr ~50 points per game. So, she's basically a whole game ahead of me. 😭🤣 #imasocialgamer #girlpower (at Vermont)

What's this? Oh, just the amazing cover art for a little social deduction game coming to Kickstarter soon! It's called, "The Terror on Starbase X"! 👽 You take on one of many roles for the ships crew, but among you is an alien AND an alien sympathizer. But the 👾 doesn't know who their ally is! Things really get juicy because each round the Commanding Officer (chosen by vote) will play 1 mission card of their choosing to complete tasks to help bring the crew to safety. But what if the Commanding Officer is the sympathizer, or worse, the Alien! Plans will be set, traps will be sprung, and the struggle will be intense! 💀 Basically imagine you're playing out your favorite stranded in space alien movie! 👨‍🚀👩‍🚀 I'm excited for this one! #imasocialgamer

Dusted off a @iello_usa game I've always had mixed feelings about. Played it with 4 people the first time I played it, all of us were new to it, and I was teaching it. Visually it's stunning, and it has a deck building mechanic which is a personal favorite. The game runs 60-90 minutes according to the box. I don't recall how long the 4 player game took, but the 2 player we ran today took TWO HOURS. Baby was asleep. No interruptions. The game isn't bad by any means, but damn can it get a little tedious. Plus, you fight against 6 monsters throughout the game, but only the last one counts to determine your victory. 🤔 You just have to keep from going mad (not having too many Madness cards) to make it to face the last monster. Each monster has a number of Curses to defeat. If even 1 is left, you lose. We beat the first 2 monsters, lost to one, then beat the next 2. The last monster came with 5 curses (max, as it always will) and we cleared 4 of the 5, but just couldn't make that last 1. I don't know about you, but 2 hours of co-op just to lose is disappointing. Maybe it's because I'm not a big co-op fan? What do you think? Love co-ops? #imasocialgamer #iasgn #bigbookofmadness
