I wanna talk about super saiyans

so for those of you who don’t know, Toyotaro, artist for the dragon ball super manga and named successor to Akira Toriyama made a couple dragon ball doujins in the past. One of these doujins was Dragon Ball AF, a story that took place after GT. A lot of things in super are actually inspired by things in AF, but i want to talk specifically about this image.

Basically in the doujin Super Saiyans are divided into three types: Legendary Super Saiyans like Broly, regular Super Saiyans up to Super Saiyan three, and the golden great ape/Super Saiyan 4 type. Vegeta basically abuses this fact to switch between forms at will and become stronger, which also happens in super in the future Zamasu arc.

What I wanted to point out is that now in super we have something like this. We have regular Super Saiyans, Super Saiyan gods, and the rage form Broly gets by channelling the great ape. Except what is different here is that they can mix these forms. For example Super Saiyan Blue is just Super Saiyan God with Super Saiyan on top of it. And Legendary Super Saiyan is just the rage form on top of the regular Super Saiyan form.

What I want to point out is that there is some gaps we can fill in. What if Broly rages and becomes a Super Saiyan God? What happens if you use all 3? In AF that’s how you access Super Saiyan 5, so maybe there is a form in the works there? But it looks like they are gonna focus more on things like Ultra Instinct and Ego, but this is a fun discussion to have.
