Honestly part of the problem with this obsession with only consuming unproblematic fiction is that people are less likely to acknowledge when something is harmful. If you so much as say hey this one joke in this one episode was offensive fans will write you an essay on why it wasn’t. People really need to stop saying “I was stalked on the internet!!!” when said “stalking” is just people engaging with their content that they don’t want being there

Someone reblogging your posts with rebuttals and sending you anon asks about why you’re wrong isn’t stalking, Mikayleigh. YOU posted that shit on the internet to be rebuttaled. It would be stalking if people were saying things about you that they would have no way of knowing from only looking at your blog.

*I* have had a stalker in the past. And I’ll tell you right now, it wasn’t over my dumb Taylor Swift posts on Tumblr. It was a man who followed me home after my psych recovery talk group because to him I was one of the “crazies” he wanted to look at under a microscope like a bug. I’m almost sure that was the reason, anyway.

Unless you have proof that people on this site are actually coming to your place of living and putting actual threats on your safety over your pop star defense posts, stop using “stalking” as deflection for your behaviour. It’s offensive to actual victims of stalking.
