One of my favorite places in London is the Italian Gardens 🇮🇹 at the edge of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens 🇬🇧. There is nothing more energizing than grabbing an Espresso ☕️ and strolling along the fountains in the morning 🏃. One of my biggest breakthroughs happened when I realized I needed to focus more on what unique contributions I can make rather than trying to fit in. 💥✏️ I had just started to dive into a new industry and it was intense. Learning the lingo, meeting the right people, making connections, studying the industry‘s history, and anticipating its future. 💼 Being a novice at something can feel intimidating and fake it till you make it will get you some of the way but you will likely only really find a footing when you create value in form of original contributions. 🏆 Your skills, views, experience is unique so don’t be afraid to apply it. One of the things I love to do is get up early. When I was younger I had this dream of working where other people go on vacation. ✈️🏖 Since then, I have had amazing opportunities to do that. I was fortunate enough to work in Hawaii, Lake Powell in Arizona, the Netherlands, France, Brazil, South Africa, and California, among others. 🇺🇸🇧🇷🇫🇷 While the idea of being in a beautiful place is very pleasant, one important non-negotiable life rule that is more important says: proximity is power. ❗️🗺 Whatever the industry is that you’re in, whatever the thing is that you wanna accomplish, go where the action is. A while ago I had a revelation that it’s actually not the circumstances and the situation that affected the outcome but my outlook on it. 💡👀 The coach suggested to separate yourself from the emotion and feelings you have towards something or someone’s action and actually look at it realistically, maybe even with a positive twist, can drastically change the results you’re getting. For me, one of the hardest things to do is to switch off. 🌝🌃 It’s actually always been that way. Sometimes you come across something or someone what makes you question whether it’s the real deal or only pretend. 🔍🤔 Something that might even make you question your instincts. Old movies are a never-ending source of inspiration for me. 🎞 The dialogues, for example, in the "The Spy Who Came In from the Cold" with Richard Burton and in this scene, Cyril Cusack, are fantastic. 🎟 Being honest about how you feel about something might come across as brutal but usually saves everyone a ton of time. ⏱ Burton's character in this @paramountpics film is a veteran intelligence officer who doesn't mince words. ⚔️ Often, when I am not sure how to express something, I am thinking of all the characters, fictional and real, that I have met and what they would say.
