I won’t be watching the Bundy Tapes on Netflix.

Instead I will be reading and thinking about Ted Bundy’s victims. I wonder where their movies are. I wonder why their names aren’t raised.

I wonder why we don’t hear about Lynda Ann Healy, a 21 year old psychology major about to graduate that semester. Lynda worked with handicapped children and got up early every day to report on the skiing conditions for local radio.

I wonder why we don’t hear about Debra Kent, a 17 year old aspiring social worker who was known for always having change to feed parking meters for strangers.

I wonder why we don’t hear about Susan Curtis. Susan was only 15 years old and was riding her bike to church that day. She was a star on her high school track team.

In a world filled with kind, beautiful people, I wonder why we all know Ted Bundy’s name. I wonder if that isn’t giving him and people like him exactly what he wanted. And frankly I’m sick of hearing people talk about him.

I’d like to talk about 12 year olds Lynette Culver and Kimberly Leach, neither of whom turned 13 because Ted Bundy stole their innocence and their lives from them. Kimberly had just been elected first runner up “Valentine Queen” by her peers and never got to wear that pretty new dress. Do you think her parents still have that dress, hanging in the back of a closet? I bet they do. I bet her dad sits with it in his darkest moments. You ever thought about him when you hear the name Ted Bundy?

Let’s talk about 19 year old Susan Rancourt, who had a 4.0 GPA. 17 year old Laura Aime. 18 year old Georgeann Hawkins. 23 year old Janice Ott. 26 year old Nancy Wilcox. 23 year old Caryn Campbell. 17 year old Melissa Smith. 19 year old Donna Manson, who was an excellent flute player and by all accounts a bit of a goth. 20 year old Kathy Parks. 22 year old Brenda Ball. 20 year old Lisa Levy. 21 year old Margaret Bowman. 25 year old Denise Oliverson, who had just gotten into a spat with her new husband and had gone for a walk to clear her mind. Denise weighed 105 pounds. She was bound, gagged, raped, mutilated and thrown from a fast moving car. Have you ever considered what HIS life has been like since that day? How many hours of his life do you think have been spent on the floor, clutching the ring he had given her, apologizing into thin air?

These stories are real. These people are REAL.

I get that Ted Bundy was handsome and his eyes were very blue but please. Please stop glamorizing him like this. He ended and ruined lives. Nothing about him is cool or worthy of emulation. Ted Bundy raped, tortured, mutilated and strangled over 30 females, including 12 year old girls. None of his victims weighed more than 115 pounds.

Ted Bundy was a pathetic man.

Emulate Lynda. Emulate Debra. Raise their names and their voices to those around you. Honor them. They were very real people with promising lives and futures stretched ahead of them, stolen.

Please don’t elevate or whitewash this kind of rampant violence against women. I assure you the world is harsh enough for us without a new generation thinking Ted Bundy is a cool, fascinating guy.

I wish you would write a fic where Rhysand and Aelin switch places.

That…would be….so. Iconic.

Like, Rhys suddenly waking up one day snuggled in Rowan’s arms and Aelin waking up next to Feyre 😂

Omg Rhys would be murdered.

- Cuz here’s the thing: of course, of all the times that they could’ve switched, it just had to be when they were asleep

- Like, Rhys is passed out from exhaustion

- You can’t blame him; Feyre can be suuuuper tiring if you know what I mean ;)

- Aelin is just tired

- She sleeps like a log

- Rowan has her enveloped in his muscular arms as they sleep

- But of course

- The switch happens

- And suddenly “Aelin’s” hair is short and smells like citrus and jasmine

- And suddenly “Rhys” has boobs??? And long flowing hair????

- For a second, Feyre thinks she got drunk and slept with Mor

- Obviously she didn’t because the female next to her certainly was not Mor

- Surprisingly, Aelin and Feyre get along pretty well

- They’re a little shook at first, but they figured things out

- Meanwhile

- Rhys lets out a high-pitched scream and winnows away just in time to escape Rowan’s hands

When’s the last time you contacted your friends/family?

Leave that toxic relationship

i just saw a fb post where a man was arguing with a woman about the best way to make macarons and he kept insisting that she was wrong, and then eventually he was like “I’ve never personally made macarons, but if you think about it what I’m saying makes sense, i’m simply stating the obvious. i’m sure there are plenty of youtube tutorials that would show you the same thing.” and the woman replied by linking him to her instagram business page and she makes fuckin macaron towers for parties for a living and i’ve been laughing about it for a solid 5 minutes.

Yes I can my dude! You didn’t specify what level of schooling you’re in or what exactly you needed, so I didn’t touch on the lead up to WW1 or propaganda but these are just the basics. hmu if you need more!!

Anyways, after a bit of research, here’s what I found!

WW1 (28 July, 1914–11 November, 1918)

Timeline of Key Events:

June 28, 1914 - Franz Ferdinand assassination

July 23, 1914 - Austria-Hungary presents Serbia with an ultimatum

July 28, 1914 - Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia

August 2, 1914 - Ottoman Empire (aka Turkey) and Germany sign Treaty of Alliance 

August 3, 1914 - Germany declares war on France

August 4, 1914 - Germany invades Belgium, Britain then declares war on Germany

August 10, 1914 - Austria-Hungary invades Russia

Archduke Franz Ferdinand (Austria-Hungary) assassinated with his wife Sophie by Gavrilo Princip (Serbian nationalist)

Nationalism: extreme patriotism and loyalty to one’s country

Austria-Hungary annexed Bosnia (1908), Serbian nationalists (i.e. Gavrilo Princip) believed Bosnia belonged to Serbia

What is self love?

Self love is when you can look at everything that you are and accept who you are at that point in time. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2am and you’re a crying mess or if it’s 2pm and you're with your friends and have never been happier. 

Self love is doing whatever it takes to look after yourself. To care and better yourself.

Self love is accepting yourself wholeheartedly and so thoroughly it completes you. 

Self love is just like any form of love. There will be good days and bad days. There will be days where you will question everything. You may ask is it worth it? But you’ll always come back to the same answer: yes, it is 100% worth it. 

There are different types of self love. Taking a shower. Studying. Scented candles. Going outside. It is whatever you need in the moment.

Self love is being tested by yourself and others. 

It’s fighting against your bad qualities rather than saying “it’s just who I am.”

You work best in the quiet. Find a place with minimal distractions whether they be noise or other people! If you must listen to music, listen to classical music or music from games as they’re designed to make you concentrate!

Record your notes and listen to them!

Record your notes in the form of a song! It’ll be easier for you to retain information this way!

Read things out loud!!

Watch videos!

Discuss the work and explain it to others

Talk to yourself

How to Study: Kinesthetic/tactile Edition

My other post was really popular, so here are some study tips for another type of learner!

If you’re a tactile learner, it’s easier to study if you’re on the move! Grab your notes and start walking around! Stand up! Have a recording of your notes and go for a run! Get your friend to quiz you during soccer training! MOVE!!

Or, if that’s too much for you.....stand up!!! As long as you’re concentrating on the content, who cares?

Other ways to keep moving:

Bounce a tennis ball against a wall

Fidget spinners

Play with a hair elastic

Chew gum

Use an exercise ball instead of a chair

Stress balls

Build models! 

Classes you can use this in: Science

Conduct experiments relevant to your topic! (more for science)

Make it a game

Work with someone else!

Make your notes into a song or jingle,

Flashcards!!

Highlight things!

Have! Frequent! Breaks!

How to Study: Visual Learner Edition

I’m a visual learner and, while my school year is coming to an end, I hope these tips I use will help you guys!

Have many diagrams!! These help you visualise your information

Timelines when working with a lot of dates or times

examples of classes: history and science

Charts or graphs when you have a lot of numbers

examples of classes: maths and science

Mind maps can be used when there are a lot of ideas surrounding a topic. 

They’re able to be used for pretty much all classes!

Print illustrations and drawings relevant to your topic!! Or, if you don’t want to draw them, you can print graphs. These help draw your interest into the topic and can be easier to understand than a block of text! 

Use contrasting colours, different fonts, different sizes, bold, underlining, and italics to make things really stand out!! 

A main colour (such as black) for the bulk of your information

A secondary colour (purple, blue, anything really!) for titles, subheadings, or diagrams

Cursive, block, bubble, fancy!! fonts!! for titles and subheadings

Make your titles and subheadings BIG

Underline, bold, and/or italicize important words, phrases, and sentences!

Colour code your information

Do you find yourself using one colour when highlighting and then not being able to find relevant information when re-reading? Give your highlighters specific purposes to avoid this!

This is the system I use!

Orange for titles/subheadings

Yellow for words, phrases, and sentences

Green for dates

Blue for names, places, and events

Purple for any vocab

Pink for miscellaneous things

Study in a place away from any and all distractions!!

Watch videos relevant to your topic and take notes

Replace words with symbols

Use steps, numbering, and dot points whenever you can! This really helps to simplify your information

Have and use flash/index cards all the time!

Take! Regular! Breaks!
