IMPORTANT NOTICE - TMNT INVERSE

Hello, fans of Inverse! Creator speaking. I know it's been quite some time since the last update. Life has been hard, and with the election of Trump and the senate of my state, I am in a position where I can no longer support the artists with my own funding.

However, by no means does this mean I plan to give up on Inverse. At a time like this, we need to spread queer, POC, and disabled joy. We need hope, and we need to be seen. Now is the time for representation, because I want the minorities affected by this to know that when we stick together as a community, we are strong. This is why I plan to continue Inverse as a passion project.

I WAS JUSY SCROLLING ALONG ON MY FEED AND I CAME ACROSS THIS!!! Truly a blessing, I’m super interested in this idea!!!

I have an urge to ask a lot of questions, but I will only ask one:

How is the show gonna address morality? It’s mentioned in the pinned post how they end up changing the course of their life and I assume that entails figuring out what side they were really on, but how will this affect them? Are they all going to understand that their morals have been skewed, or will some of them try to combat it?

Glad you’re excited about our project! Feel free to ask all the questions you want, just a word of warning- it may take us a while to answer since our team is really busy right now! (end of the semester and all that, especially because we’re going to answer some asks with comics and images, which makes the answer time much longer) so please don't feel discouraged if we don't answer right off the bat!

But to answer your question, I’d say Inverse’s stance on morality is quite gray, as the “good guys” aren’t perfect, and the turtles and Splinter as the “bad guys” aren’t evil. 

While Inverse is mostly a story about family, morality plays a big role in the turtles’ growth and self discovery. What is considered “right” or “wrong” or “normal” when you’re raised in a criminal syndicate is considerably skewed and it’s not until they start connecting with the outside world that they begin to realize something is off.

They ignore it of course. At least until they no longer can, and it begins to tear their family apart. 

Each turtle goes through their own arc, their own struggles , reactions, and learning experiences. As much as we get to see the turtles as a unit, we will also have moments with each turtle to develop them separately as well.

I feel like Inverse is less a story about getting a “better” morality and more of self discovery and healing.

This is as much as I can say without getting too spoilery, at least for now!

In TMNT: Inverse, Aikawa Yoshi aka Splinter was raised to be the Foot Clan leader. As Leader, when he and the turtles were mutated, Splinter raised them to be Foot Clan ninjas.

Inverse is a 2D animated series that is currently being worked on, that follows the story of these four teenage mutant Foot ninja turtles.

Inverse Leosagi, I commissioned the official artists of TMNT Inverse (a 2012 footclan AU) to draw art of Mizu with their Leo, and I thought it was so adorable that before they finished the artwork I ended up making this lol. (This would be before Mizu meets Shuji, and gets teleported to another dimension in classic Usagi style)

Inverse Leo uses she/her pronouns and is lesbian, so they would be very cute girlfriends! Mizu would still be very bold and straightforward, which challenges Leo’s competitive nature. Mizu is often caught off guard when Leo does take the challenges seriously, leading the rabbit to be the one brightly embarrassed and blushing.

Leosagi in every universe is so perfect (๑>◡<๑)

Also I love the designs of the turtles!! Especially Leo's little cat-ear hood

Thank you so much for asking! Leo is actually nonbinary, as well as Donnie and Mikey.

- Raph: He/Him

- Donnie: He/They

In the script, Splinter uses and is referred to as he/him, but out of canon, we use any pronouns for her. He haven’t realized he’s nonbinary yet.

TMNT: Inverse was created with the intention of creating diversity, since the TMNT fandom is such a diverse place in itself! There are a lot of canonically trans, disabled, and queer characters, so you might see some representation you don’t expect. We’re always open to input.
