Vile veil
By Timber252
I walk on the edge of all that I know
All I hold dear guarded only by snow
Through thin layers of ice I watch the darkness bellow
I take a step forward and my fear begins to grow
The ice splinters and snaps, cracks begin to show
Terror replaced by foolish courage to my death I go
Each step a new gamble in the icy winds flow
Then I hear it again that sound of terrible woe
My heart races in my chest and I wonder if it’s too late to go
Will the ice hold or will I be swallowed whole?
Regret fill my eyes and streaks down my cheeks
As I face the abyss where my terror peaks
To late to turn back to late to go home
On the edge of this chasm I stand alone
A trap of my making, to late to atone
I take a step forward and plunge into the unknown.

Firelight
By timber252
Firelight falls upon my face
A welcome sight in this frigid place
In the darkness creeping shadows wait
Pressing closer, as they congregate
I draw nearer and feel the heat
A dance of flames to an unknown beat
A chill in the wind draws me near
Pushing in, inviting fear
The blaze murmurs softly, a comforting song
Its beauty and glow pulling me along
Then the fire grows hot and my flesh is seared
I pull back, it’s danger is clear
My hand stings with regret as I settle into place
One were I am wrapped in the fire’s embrace
Where shadows fear
And my mind can clear.

Creekside stones
By timber252
Water washes over the stones
Smoothing rough edges and filling cracks
A gentle touch to mend and make whole
It knows every scar from every attack
So I lay in the water and close my eyes,
And the water rushes over me,
And the stones which I lie
Gentle and smooth, tender and soothing
The cold tugs my mind and pulls me away
Though the stress and the worry, here they stay
Away from the hard stones on which I lay.
To a place where trees sway and birds play. Just for a moment before I return
My rough edges smoothed, and my mind cleaned
Healed
Renewed.

I wrote another one, I’m not sure but Somthing feels different about it idk if I was super inspired with it or something… anyway I’m open to feedback so plz lmk. Oh and happy 18th b-day to me 🥳
Those that know me chatter in the wind,
My secrets carried away in the breeze.
They are the rustling leaves,
Those that love me steadfast and strong,
Say, “Our roots are deep, it is with the trees that you belong.”
Those that kiss me, gentle pecks upon my face,
They are the rain and her gentle embrace.
Those that know me are free day and night,
Singing songs of love and light
As they take flight.
They are the birds,
Messengers of insight.

Here is another poem I wrote. (The second one ever)
Storm clouds
By me
Storm clouds gather, and the sky grows dark
I listen to the taps of rain as the sky kisses the earth
Water trickles down from the leaves to the dirt
Tracing pathways on bark, a delicate flirt
The sky cracks with light, and and the water falls harder
A display of natures beauty, one of power and sunder
I stand in silence, in awe of the storm, its might I ponder
But as quickly as it began the rain begins to slow
The sky grows bright once more, but the roaring thunder is no more
Sunlight falls between the leaves
And I watch quietly as the storm recedes

Wrote a poem I guess, I wrote this while I was chilling under the full moon. Sorta based on a childhood memory I was thinking about idk.
Under the moon
By me
I walk silently under the moon
Listening to the beckoning of beasts
The chirp of crickets
The call of loons
I remember my fathers words
The sun staves away the darkness
So return home soon
Instead I wait where the trees dare not tread
pondering to what home am I led?
To choose between a house and a home
Is it that lonely place of grief and shame
Or the quiet wood that keeps me sane
I know that to choose means certain doom
But choose I must
And so while I return to my room
My soul stays under the moon
