INJURY/HURT PROMPT STARTERS. accepting!

                      guilt  is  swift  to  encompass  distraught  features,  whilst  his  hands  tremble  in  fear  beside  the  insect  pillar  before  him,  who’s  currently  crouched  over  in  stabbing  pain.  ❝  fine?!  b-but,  you  don’t  look  it!  ❞  zenitsu  proclaims,  panic  raising  in  his  voice  by  the  second.  watching  the  blood  pool  through  her  uniform  he  sweats  while  holding  back  tears  simultaneously,  feeling  utterly  horrible  for  letting  his  guard  down.  the  threat  had  been  dealt  with,  but  not  without  a  price.  why  does  this  always  happen?  the  blond  whines,  hands  cupping  tightly  over  his  ears  as  he  timidly  shakes  his  head  and  whimpers.

                      ❝  a-ah  ...  no  ...  th-this  is  all  my  fault!  y-you  shouldn’t  of  brought  me  here! i’m  no  help  at  all!  ❞

                      soon  the  tears  flow  begin  to  flow,  overcome  with  feelings  of  helplessness.  however,  as  zenitsu  bites  his  bottom  lip  and  stands  hopelessly  in  place,  the  sounds  around  him  become  muffled.  sure  it’s  still  overwhelming,  but  easier  to  deal  with  as  his  thoughts  clear  slightly.  lowering  his  hands,  he  wipes  his  stray  tears  and  crouches  down,  carefully  wrapping  her  shoulder  around  his  neck  for  proper  support.

                      ❝ i-i’m sorry ... here, l-let me at least get you off the road to rest some place better. ❞

ZENITSU HEADCANONS █ post-canon. 

after the battle from the infinity fortress, zenitsu sustained many severe injuries, one of them being skin cracks on his cheeks. despite being tended too rather quickly, they left scars in the shape of lightning streaks. the rest of wounds he managed to make a full recovery from. the scars, however, serve as a reminder of his failures and negligence.

with permission, he buried his grandfather’s ashes behind tanjirou’s house. it takes a lot of time for him to talk about what happened in detail. but he does eventually open up to tanjirou, nezuko and inosuke about his old life, from grueling start to finish.

without a proper body to bury, zenitsu searched the battle grounds weeks later and found the magatama bead from kaigaku’s old necklace and held onto it. truthfully, he’s still on the fence whether he should bury it beside gramps or not. he still harbors anger towards kaigaku’s unforgivable actions, his treason above all else, but doesn’t have the heart to just toss aside, either. he’s the only one left to remember him. 

( in the future, along with writing his autobiography - along with the fabled tale of the demon slayers - zenitsu ends up storing the old necklace in his box of belongings, leaving the fate of the necklace in the hands of his future descendants. )

for the rest of his lifetime, zenitsu spends it living with tanjirou and the others. he ended up inheriting his grandfather’s property, to which he eventually turns into a dojo to teach young children and people alike the breath of thunder style. to fit with the changing times, he adjusts it for self-defense only, as the demons eventually become extinct in their world. a thing of urban legend.  

( open to interpretation, never forced onto other nezuko’s canons ) him and nezuko develop a friendship beforehand, later entering a romantic relationship. they date for a few years, then, after begging relentlessly for the elder brother’s approval, the two eventually get married in their early twenties. together, they have many children, form a happy family, and spend the rest of their days together happily.

i. zenitsu is naturally protective of chihiro. he feels that everyone needs someone to look after them, especially around that age. zenitsu didn’t have that guidance growing up, and while he feels like he’s not the best with children, he tries his best to make sure she’s happy and safe!

ii. whenever they travel together he has the habit of holding hands, primarily in crowded places so they don’t get separated! children get lost so easily, best to keep your eye on them. whenever she gets too tired he’ll give her piggyback rides to wherever they’re headed next.

iii. the first time she called him “nitsu-nii” his heart melted into the floor, along with his whole body, chirio thought he fainted but he was just so happy. 

iv. whenever zenitsu goes to the market place, he always brings chihiro back a little something. whether it be a yummy treat or a fun trinket to play with on their travels. that, or whenever he’s away, something that reminds her of his presence to assure she doesn’t feel so lonesome.
