Fall From the Top
He made a fall from the top
He wanted to be the biggest name in the NBA since LeBron
He wanted to be an All Star
With his potential he could go so far
There’s a story about him that’s untold
He would see his mom get beat when he was only few years old
Different men always came to her door
At the age of 9, she overdosed
They took him away and sent him to a foster home
He loved basketball and developed a passion
If you saw him play you immediately saw the talent
As a high school freshmen, he associated with people full of shadiness
They tried to make him do drug dealing
They told him you can get good money
Since you’re not getting anything from balling
You can leave whenever you want to leave
He left the foster home and was homeless
Each day he would stay with a different friend
When November came, he tried out for varsity
The coach says that this is the greatest player the city has ever seen
He instantly became the leader of the team
He was key to the school winning their first title since 1963
In sophomore year, they had hopes of repeating
That’s around the same that he meet this girl he liked
Even with his star status, he was scared to say hi
He eventually had the guts to talk to her
First thing she said aren’t you the star for basketball
The fact you’re approaching me, I’m flattered
You can go for these groupies but instead you go for me
Then they started dating
The first time they had sex, they did it unprotected
He gets a call after a game in the middle of the season saying that she’s pregnant
He overcame all the noise to win another championship
9 months after her announcement on February
She gives birth to their baby
They both still went to school but had a babysitter look over their kid
Junior year and they win it again
The school had a three peat
This is when their relationship started to get ugly
It was during an after party for junior prom and she was with his drug dealing buddies
When he drove her back home, he got extremely angry
There was back and forth yelling
He snapped and he slapped her face
Saying you better not be around any of my homies
He left her house and called all three of them up
He told them that we need to have a talk
They said why you want to meet in area where we’re not close to anybody
He responded by saying it’s an issue that’s need to be handled privately
Before he meet them he bought a shovel
3 am is when they all came over
He arrived and they asked where have you been
He yelled to them to never flirt with my girl again
It got physical with pushing and shoving
After a few minutes, he pulled out his gun
And shot them all one by one
He buried all of their bodies
He got finished when it started getting sunny
He told her he killed them and she better not snitch
Or you’re going to get bruises
People that knew them noticed that they were missing
They weren’t returning their calls or texts
They got worried that something happened
They asked him about it and he said that they were moving
They wanted to leave without a trace
They wanted to get a fresh start in a new city
No one thought otherwise
Since he had a reputation of never telling a lie
He got away with the murder of three guys
During the summer he got offers from schools like Kentucky, Kansas, Florida and North Carolina
He choose BU because he didn’t want to leave Boston
He had one more year of high school to go
They school won again now they have won four in a row
Him and her were the cutest couple in school, that’s for sure
But they don’t know what happens behind closed doors
It became more of a habit for him to punch her
She would have to go to school with a black eye
Classmates would ask why?
She would reply by telling a lie
Telling them that she got involved in an accident
They would see she have marks but they didn’t see the connect
Now he’s moving on to college
He’s expecting to declare for the draft as a freshmen
In BU, he exceeded expectations
He took them all the way to the sweet sixteen
He has the chance to finally live his dreams
He got selected as the 1st overall pick
Like in high school and college, the Pacers think he can help them win
He would go on to be an All Star and rookie of the year in his first season
In his next two, he would have just as much success
They went to the Eastern conference Finals and in his fourth year was their best chance to win it
Until one night that changed four people’s lives
He went home and saw her with a guy
He was full of rage, you could see it in his eyes
Then him and the guy got into a fight
He decided to grab a knife
He stabbed the guy to death
She cried because she saw somebody die
She said I’m leaving I can’t continue to live like this
He said if you behaved, I wouldn’t have to do what I did
She continued by saying you need to stop be jealous
They kept on yelling
He had enough of it and stabbed her several times
Then she died
The neighbors called because they heard a commotion
Before he could get away, he got arrested
In court he was declared guilty by the jury
Three out of the four people affected by that night not alive
You’re not living much of one, when you’re serving life
Their kid was the only one that survived
Both parents barely payed attention to the kid
The mother’s dead and the daddy’s in jail, that’s scary isn’t it

Imagine
Imagine if the world was more peaceful Imagine if everyone was looked as an equal Too bad that’s all I can really do Protesting against the president What’s that going to do? Saying things like he’s not my president With a different opinion no one ever shows respect If support Trump you’re going to get punched in the face Imagine if everyone could get in along in this place Imagine what we could do as a country Imagine a world that didn’t revolve around sex and money A girl can truly says that “he loves me” Overall without money, I think everyone would be happy They say money doesn’t buy happiness I know that there’s some truth to it Imagine a world without broke college kids We can do all the things we want to accomplish Imagine everyone in the world was happy and didn’t have broken heart Imagine a world where society doesn’t tear our dreams apart Imagine that you had everything that dreamed of That’s why some people never want to wake up Imagine a place where innocent lives don’t get shot by the cops Imagine that all our issues are solved There would be hope for a brighter tomorrow Imagine if every institution wasn’t corrupt There’s a domino effect when it comes to this stuff What’s the cause of that if you’re sure? Money that’s the answer that you’re looking for Like Tupac said they got money for wars but can’t feed the poor Imagine if him and Biggie were still alive You wouldn’t hear people say that Hip-Hop died Imagine that the media actually told us the truth We would learn a lot of stuff we never knew For now all we got are conspiracies A person’s word doesn’t make the claim concrete Imagine that we weren’t obsessed with celebrities Then in our lives we would be doing more productive things Imagine that every married couple kept their wedding rings Then you would never hear the fat lady sing Because the marriage would last for the rest of their lives Imagine if we had an appreciation for the girls and they did for the guys Imagine that were less crimes You wouldn’t have see the sight of a mother cry Because their son or daughter died Imagine all the problems I mention all got solved What are the problems that I have talked about on the song? Do you see how it all goes along? They all have more correlation than you think Let’s solve them before the boat sink

New Gangs
Democrats and Republicans are the new gangs It’s the equivalent of Bloods and Crips All four of them are red or blue, that’s not a coincidence Your safety could be in danger if you don’t believe the same thing We’re in a copycat society There’s more Trump supporters than you think They didn’t say who they’re voting for to avoid the scrutiny This guy is a supporter of Trump If he said that out loud, there will be no surprise if he gets jumped The violence rate is going to continue going up It’s because people will hurt anyone that associates with colors that they don’t like It doesn’t matter if they’re liberal or conservative everyone thinks they’re right We should be making the country great together But until the political affiliations stop it will never get better How do you expect us to be full of peace? When in the debates the leaders are always arguing Democrats and Republicans are the real gangs If we are going to vote for criminals like Hillary, let’s vote for Trevor Phillips in 2020 He will win, I will bet some money Like how he died the country will be up in flames Just because people are found of different names Those different names are part of different gangs They say to be different but for artificial peace everyone’s opinions have to be the same Democrats and Republicans the new gangs

LeBron or Kobe
I wrote this for a college assignment during my last semester. Whoever reads hopefully you enjoy.
Basketball fans constantly debate about who’s better LeBron James or Kobe Bryant. Both players are guaranteed a spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame one day. For the last sixteen years, they have been looked at as the biggest faces of the NBA. Even if you don’t know anything about basketball you probably have an idea or heard about either LeBron or Kobe. Regardless of who you feel is has the better career resume, they will go down as two legends in the game of basketball. So who does have the more impressive career LeBron or Kobe?
Kobe Bryant has a numerous amount of accomplishments and the list for him can go on and on. He has won five NBA championships, eighteen All Star game selections, a one time MVP in 2008, twelve appearances on the All-Defensive team, fifteen All NBA team appearances and a two time Finals MVP. ( Basketball Reference Kobe Bryant Stats) LeBron James resume is equally as decorated as Kobe’s if not more. He is a three time NBA champion, twelve time All Star and will probably be selected to play in the game every year until he retires, four time league MVP, six appearances on the All-Defensive team, twelve All-NBA team selections, Rookie of the Year in 2004 and a three time Finals MVP. (Basketball Reference LeBron James Stats) LeBron averages more than Kobe on major statistics like points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks per game in the regular season and the postseason. They both averaged a career high in points per in 2006 with Kobe with 35.4 points and LeBron with 31.4 per game. Kobe had a lot of outstanding scoring accomplishments that year including having the highest point per game average in this century and having a historic 81 point game against the Toronto Raptors which is the second most points scored by a player in NBA history.
They differ in the way the play the game and the skill sets that they have to make them what they are. LeBron James game is all around and he is not just good at one aspect of it. Not only can he lead his team in scoring but he can facilitate the offense and get rebounds better than some of the big men in the league. With his size, James has the ability to guard all five positions on the court from point guard to center. It  is extremely difficult to guard LeBron because of his muscular build and athleticism. When he goes to the hoop it is like trying to stop a car that is going over 90 miles per hour. His clutch ability in the playoffs might be underestimated because in the last 24 seconds of a game he has made 40% of go ahead or game tying baskets and has made more than Kobe who has attempted eight shots than LeBron. (In the Playoffs, LeBron James Is More Clutch than Kobe by Angel Diaz) Kobe Bryant’s game revolves around shooting, being clutch and having that competitive attitude. When the game is one the line you want Kobe to take the shot and so many times in his career he has came through in the clutch. I have actually witnessed him in person against the Celtics in 2010. A player can give Kobe no breathing space whatsoever but he will somehow drain the shot. According a Youtube video titled “7 STORIES THAT PROVE KOBE BRYANT WAS NOT HUMAN!” Bryant is only sleeps four hours a night which is amazing because of all the things that he has done during his career and his work ethic during practice was levels above the average NBA player. He was the first player to show up in the gym and the last one to leave. It also mentioned about how elite of a one on one player Kobe was and never supposedly never lost a game of one on one ever. The question we want answered though is if LeBron and Kobe were played one on one who would win. A question that can only be answered by playing an NBA video game but it is not the real thing.
The impact that both players have had on their respective teams is a undeniable one. I did calculations on the year by year results of their teams to see how valuable they truly are. During Kobe’s career with the Lakers, they have 895 wins and 533 losses which is a winning percentage of 62%. (The land of basketball Los Angeles Lakers Year by Year Records)  I didn’t apply the results of the 2014 and 2015 Laker teams because he only played in 41 combined games for those two years, only half of a NBA season. Whatever team LeBron was on whether if it was the Cavaliers or Heat, they have a win-loss record 683-367 giving them a win percentage of 65%. Since LeBron has left a team two times we can see how they did without him. Cleveland had a record of 97-215, only winning 31% percent of their games before he returned back to his home in 2014. (The land of basketball Cleveland Cavaliers Year by Year Records) The Cavaliers did not make the playoffs even once during his departure. Since Kobe has stayed put in L.A. for his entire career we won’t know for sure how the Lakers would have done without him. Sure there was sample of how the Lakers would do without especially in those two years where he was plagued with injuries but the teams were not that great and he was near the end of his career. The Lakers, Heat, and Cavaliers will not have as many trophies in their case if it wasn’t for them.
LeBron James faces criticism by some people that he relies on having “superstar teams” to win championships. He didn’t win one before he left the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat in 2010 with two of his All Star buddies Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Kobe Bryant on the other hand stayed with LA Lakers for his entire twenty year career. Even when times were tough he stuck it out and stayed loyal to the franchise. But to say that Kobe won those titles on his own is a completely inaccurate statement. For his first three titles he had a sidekick in Shaquille O’Neal who is one of the best big men in the league’s history with contributions from other players such as Robert Horry, Rick Fox and Derek Fisher just to mention a few. Like the old saying goes “there’s no I in team” and the NBA championship is awarded to the best team not the best individual. Every Hall of Fame caliber player you can think of who has won a title had at least one other star that was on their team and players that got the job done. Whether if LeBron was on the Heat or Cavaliers he has made six consecutive Finals appearances and another back in 2007. While that is a impressive feat it can be due to the Eastern Conference being the weaker compared to the West. In the Western Conference it takes at least 50 wins to get into the playoffs some years unlike the East where there have been teams in the past that have won less 50% of their games and still clinch a spot in the postseason.
A major factor that decides who is the better player how many championships have they won and how well did their teams perform in the NBA Finals. They have both made seven career appearances in the Finals. Kobe Bryant is 5-2 in the Finals while LeBron James is 3-4. Every time Kobe was in the Finals, many favored the Lakers to win the championship even in his two losses against the Pistons in 2004 and the Celtics in 2008. So you can say that the toughest challenge for the Lakers is whoever they had to face in their conference. The San Antonio Spurs who are always consistently good and the basketball equivalent to the Patriots, the Sacramento Kings in the early 2000’s had a good run and possibly their opportunity to win a championship got robbed in 2002 when they lost to the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals in controversial fashion, the Dallas Mavericks a consistent playoff contender and the  Phoenix Suns throughout the 2000’s were all teams that stood in the Lakers way in order to win it all. LeBron’s record in the Finals receives heavy scrutiny by some more than others. They will talk about how he has more losses than wins and that even in his wins he has gotten bailed out by his teammates. 2013 is the first thing that comes to mind because Ray Allen hit a game tying three pointer in the final seconds of Game 6 to force overtime against the Spurs which they won and Game 7 to win the NBA championship. In the regular season, the teams that Kobe faced in the Finals had a winning percentage of 68%, for LeBron it is an eye popping 75%. ( land of basketball Brooklyn Nets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, and Dallas Mavericks Year by Year record) So the teams that LeBron has had to go against have presented more of a challenge and that includes two teams that Kobe has went up against plenty times in the Spurs and Mavericks. He silenced his doubters last season when the Cavaliers won their first championship in franchise history defeating the Golden State Warriors. The Cavaliers had all odds against them when they were down 3-1 because not only did they have to overcome deficit that has never been done in the NBA Finals but they had to do it against a team had a historic regular season record of 73-9 and they had to win two games at Golden State, one of the hardest arenas to play in the league. There were circumstances that affected the result of NBA Finals and both of their legacies could be looked in a different light if there was a different result. In the early 2000’s when Kobe won his first three championships it wasn’t proven until years later that playoff games during that time were fixed. So if that weren’t the case then how many championships would Kobe actually have. In 2010, the Lakers could have lost to the Celtics for a second straight time but didn’t because Celtics center Kendrick Perkins who was one pivotal part of their defense and source for rebounds got injured in Game 6 and missed Game 7. The Lakers single handedly won Game 7 because of all the offensive rebounds they got leading to more shot attempts. In 2015 when the Cavaliers faced the Warriors, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love the two best players on the team aside from LeBron got injured leaving LeBron to carry the team almost literally by himself. By removing those two that made the Cavaliers worse than they were during LeBron’s first tenure there. If both teams were completely healthy that year then the Cavaliers potentially could have won instead of the Warriors. If the opposite results occurred instead of the ones that actually did happen then Kobe and LeBron might both be 4-3 in the Finals or maybe the real record should be the way that it is.
With the research that I have done I believe that LeBron James has had the more stellar career, not taking away from anything that Kobe Bryant has done. If you look at the stats like points, rebounds or assists LeBron has the upper hand on Kobe and even on ones where Kobe is ahead of LeBron he can easily surpass him. Assuming that he stays in the NBA for five or six more years he can extend on his already legendary legacy unlike Kobe who is retired and off in the sunset. With the way it has been going for him there doesn’t look to be a team or a player that will stop him and the Cavaliers from going into Finals. If he wins two or three more titles then we will be debating if he is the greatest basketball player of all time. When it’s all said and done both will be looked at as two of the greatest players in the game of basketball.
