The Lettuce Story
One of our best written pieces in the house Facebook group.
Feel free to adapt to the appropriate slimy foodbits in your own sink.
“There once was some magic lettuce. It was green and strong and it could crawl to places all on its own. One day however, the magic lettuce was ripped apart and forced under a very cold shower. This made the lettuce so sad, that all of its magic disappeared and it could no longer move by itself. Unable to escape the cold, cold sink, the lettuce had no choice but to wait for some kind stranger who would grab it and throw it in the trash. But no one came and the lettuce died a horrible, painful death. Luckily, it managed to get revenge on the people who had torn it apart by slipping through the holes of the sink and clogging it, causing a lot more work than it would have been to give the magic lettuce a final resting place in the bin. Now children, do we understand the moral of this story?”
We cleaned the lettuce up, they’re still learning the moral of the story. It’s a work in progress

It was just the beginning
That’s a lie, it’s far from the beginning but it’s the start of documenting the real struggles of living in a student house. After multiple years, and countless attempts we’re slowly learning how to get through to mindless 20 year olds that the trash hasn’t grown legs yet and it still doesn’t take itself out. Shame.
There is a new beginning coming soon though, with the arrival of a new housemate this coming weekend, along with our hope of attempting classical conditioning in it’s purest and most delectable way- chocolate. So alongside the general disappointments, expect the scientific documentation of this Housemate Experiment.
Many old and fantastically face palming stories will also feature - that’s a promise
