His cutie mark is a golden tortoise beetle because he is a changeling and golden tortoise beetles are able to change the color of their exoskeleton when threatened or around potential mates :3

He's from a MLP apocalypse Discord server where he's a changeling who was feeding off the love of a friend group before the apocalypse started, then when the fall came the Changeling empire went into hiding and he was stuck without a community and starving from lack of love. To battle the starvation, Advantas started a commune of survivors that he's runs, providing shelter and food in exchange for (secretly) feeding off their trust and loyalty. the commune is rather successful, with a disconnected leader the society is able to function without bias for the higher ups, and everyone is treated with the same "respect".
