It's almost winter and I can't stop thinking about the sweetest, winter, angel baby. Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy gets sick every winter because his immune system is awful. More on that, getting sick at Hogwarts is hard for him, because wdym Draco isn't there to make him soup? Wdym Astoria isn't there to make his bed? At least he has Albus, who is struggling to help Scorpius keep up with course work. Albus only attempts to pay attention to Wizarding History for Scorpius, and even then he's struggling.

Then, there is Scorpius's birthday which is in January. Draco is mailing him an inordinate amount of parcels and at least one sappy card. Albus is also nicking one of the muffins from the breakfast table. Students aren't supposed to light things like candles inside the castle, but Albus does it anyways (every year he burns something). Meanwhile, Scorpius is just overwhelmed with all the love surrounding him and desperately trying to write as many thank you letters as possible. He appreciates everything dearly, but also is ready for all this attention to be put OFF of him.

There is also the little things such as:

Scorpius walking to his morning classes with a mug of hot cocoa in his hand.

Scorpius cuddling up next to the fireplace with his Ancient Runes homework out.

Scorpius helping Neville decorate the greenhouse for the holidays.

Scorpius loaning Albus his enchanted, wool sweater from Germany.

Scorpius baking Draco sugar bread cookies during Winter Break.

Scorpius and Albus having a Christmas movie marathon where Albus shows Scorpius Home Alone 1 & 2 (Scorpius is obsessed).

I might make a longer head canon post soon. For now though, take this because I love Scorpius and I love winter.

I'm quite curious if Draco, Astoria and Scorpius are living at Malfoy Manor.

Some part of me thinks that's logic. Because it's a pretty giant property. They could live there together with Lucius and Narcissa and still have enough personal space.

But at the other hand I can't imagine that Draco wants his son to grow up surrounded by Lucius.

What's your opinion/ headcanon?

Unpopular opinion number 3

The misunderstanding of Albus being a pessimist and Scorpius being an optimist

I've seen a lot of posts here on YouTube, TikTok, discord, etc, that Albus is a pessimist while Scorp is a huge optimist.

And ummmmm.... It's the opposite guys. And here are my reasons.

Scorp being a pessimist

1.

AMOS: Your information was obvious but the confirmation is useful. Your father did lie. Now leave. The pair of you. And stop wasting my time.

ALBUS (with power and strength): No, you need to listen to me, you said it yourself — how much blood is on my father’s hands. Let me help you change that. Let me help correct one of his mistakes. Trust me.

AMOS (his voice raised): Did you not hear me, boy? I see no reason to trust you. So go. Now. Before I make you leave.

He raises his wand ominously. ALBUS looks at the wand — he deflates — AMOS has crushed him.

SCORPIUS: Come on, mate, if there’s one thing we’re good at it’s knowing where we’re not wanted.

ALBUS is reluctant to leave. SCORPIUS pulls him by the arm. He turns and they walk away.

ALBUS: Things need fixing, Scorpius. Cedric still needs saving. Rose needs bringing back. We’ll be more careful. Whatever Croaker says, trust me, trust us. We’ll get it right this time.

SCORPIUS: No. We won’t. Give it back, Albus! Give it back!

ALBUS: I can’t. This is too important.

SCORPIUS: Yes, it’s too important — for us. We’re not good at this stuff. We’ll get it wrong.

ALBUS: Who’s saying that we’ll get it wrong?

SCORPIUS: I say. Because that’s what we do. We mess things up. We lose. We’re losers, true and total losers. Haven’t you realized that yet?

3. All the dialogue about the time travel plan and how are you sure that's gonna work?(but I would say that was more realism than pessimism)

I would say that Scorp became more confident after the dark Timeline mess. I believe his pessimism came from his insecurities and his fear.

Albus being a true optimist(or just plain delusional)

ALBUS: It involves the second task. And humiliation.

SCORPIUS: You’re still talking about going back in time? Have we been having the same conversation?

ALBUS: You’re right — we are losers. We’re brilliant at losing and so we should be using our own knowledge here. Our own powers. Losers are taught to be losers. And there’s only one way to teach a loser — and we know that better than anyone — humiliation. We need to humiliate him. So in the second task that's what we'll do.

(Brilliant at losing? Losing as a power? Clearly this boy ain't a pessimist. First he's in denial and now he's trying to spin this to be a positive thing)

3. All his dialogue regarding time travel and how this plan is clearly going to work blah blah blah(ok he's more delusional than optimistic I admit)

There are a lot more examples but these are the major ones showcasing the way they view things. Both of their personailities really complement each other in a way. Hopefully Scorp becomes more optimistic and Albus becomes more realistic after the whole ordeal.

They lay side by side on the bed, Albus playing with Scorpius's hand. Scorpius wore wrist bands, always, to hide the scars he had gotten. From before. From Delphine. It was a fleeting thought, but Albus couldn't help flinch inwardly. His fingers mapped his palms, reaching his wrists.

It was too hot for wristbands.

Albus didn't dare touch the scars, though he knew they were long past hurting.

He wished he could kiss them, gently. Softly.

" Albus, " Scorpius whispered. When Scorpius said Albus, he meant Albus. And God, he was probably the only one. " Don't. "

He pulled his hands away, and Albus felt empty.

" You know, they're just extra lines. I mean, you get love lines on your palms. I get mine on wrists. "

There was a smile in his voice that sustained Albus like air. He couldn't help smiling as well.

" That's such a shitty joke. "

" You're shitty "

And just like that, everything was fine.

Until it wasn't.

Because obviously Albus couldn't just let things be.

" You know you can tell me anything right ? "

They'd had this conversation in a loop a million times before. He felt Scorpius's shoulder tense beside him, until he let out a long breath.

" Yeah. "

He closed his eyes. The silence stretched so long, he thought Scorpius was asleep , but then ,

" I still dream about him. Craig,I mean. When he ..um..passed away. "

He hates how sad he sounds. When Albus was younger, he had believed he must have swallowed all the sadness in the world to feel the way he felt. But really, he hadn't. Because here was Scorpius, his voice so broken. Albus wished he could swallow it away now.

" I'm sorry. " he whispered, which was inadequate but it was all he had. Because he was sorry. He had lured Scorpius into their save Cedric-time mission. He was the only reason Scorpius had those scars, the reason Scorpius had to carry this sadness.

He felt Scorpius reach for his hand, fingers warm against his. He squeezed gently.

" I still dream about you sometimes. When..when she was torturing you. "

The flash. The screams. The tears.

Scorpius bleeding on the ground.

Even putting words to the image threatened to break something in him.

His breath caught, before he calmed himself. Beside him, Scorpius was still.

There was a long, terrible silence.

Then there was some more.

Until.

" Me too. "

And oh.

Oh.

Now albus's heart really did shatter like fallen china.

He could almost see Scorpius sweating and tossing in bed, waking up from torturous nightmares.

And here was Albus Potter, the culprit, the friend, the one who loved, the one who could do nothing.

Here was Albus Potter, who quietly shifted closer to the boy beside him whom he had a hand in breaking.

"This okay?" He whispered, as he slowly wrapped his arms around his waist. Scorpius nodded, leaning into the touch.

Albus watched as he slowly fell asleep in his arms.

Here was Albus Potter, so completely in love and so wholly destroyed.
