Top Tier: Amaterasu?
Amaterasu (AMA) is the epitome of PvE in Tera Online. They’re known for being the best of the best and have stacked numerous North America first clears - but they’re also known for something else.
They’re also the guild that brought third party (packet injecting) to Mount Tyrannas, during the first installation of Harrow Hold, which saw them barred from uploading their damage metre parses.
Their recent involvement includes memeslashing and a leak that saw at least the officers of the guild, make millions from private knowledge leaked to them by Obsie (or Obs) a guild member of theirs and Essential Mana (EM) content writer, who got their hands on En Masse’s conversion rates early.
Tumblr media
Obsie first shared the information with a female in his guild that’s believed to be an Officer of Amaterasu. It then spread to the other officers and word got out from there. That’s when the market changes began occurring which were significant enough that En Masse released their emergency post and later a statement.
Yen, a female officer of Amaterasu, announced a guide written by Obsie for the guild in preparation to gearing for next patch. You can view the guide here and judge it for yourself. If it proves anything at all, it’s that his knowledge of next patch was trusted enough that his guide was announced to the entire guild for use. It’s not that alarming, but a little curious, when you consider there are guides like Loriri’s that already exist for people to go off. Tying into the point I make at the bottom, where not everyone in Amaterasu knew, how would those who had the leaked info make a profit otherwise. Edited this in since it needed clarifying.
A day later Obsie is caught selling his stock based on his knowledge of En Masse conversion rates, three days before they’re officially announced. Even if you believe he didn’t tell anyone apart from the girl in question, she could have told others, and people could have easily copied his change of market trend suspecting he knew something due to the drastic shift in his methodology; both within the market and his advice to others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He must have a serious soft spot when it comes to the women in his guild. Obsie caught talking in Amaterasu guild chat and being told by an officer Xpect (darker red tinted name) to stop. In this case there’s no reason to tell him to stop unless you knew that what he was saying was sensitive information.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m told there was a message deleted between “KEEP THEM?” and “I didn’t see it.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it’s known to us Obsie has told one female by his own admission, he’s shown to exploit his knowledge of next patch by guiding other players into making educated choices, well before we were officially notified of the conversion rates. You might be thinking that this only proves that he knew and one girl (again, by his own admission), if that were truly the case we wouldn’t have had an emergency release of the conversion rates by En Masse along with a statement, and drastic enough price changes on the Broker that Kamizuma caught on.
Tumblr media
The rest of these screenshots just speak to Amaterasu’s lax attitude towards cheating and warning people to be safe using exploits, while never actually condemning it unless it’s to keep face. It’s little wonder I have Amaterasu members sending me screenshots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not all of Amaterasu’s members had access to the information provided by En Masse to Essential Mana (EM), that’s a generalisation I would never make. That’s the argument being made by the guilty to distract from the truth, in affect you have an US vs THEM mentality. There are members of Amaterasu that are innocent who are now facing hate for the crimes committed by those they’re in a guild with. Whether you feel sympathy knowing that they now know and choose to stay and keep Obsie in the guild, is your choice to make.
If I could offer one piece of advice it would be; don’t be fooled into fighting other peoples battles or be lulled into silence, you don’t remove bad elements by excusing their behaviour and allowing them to co-exist.
To touch on it more, groups consist within Guilds and people don’t all necessarily get along, nor can you make a profit if you’re telling a guild of 100+ active members. It’s commonsense that not everyone would have known.
Tumblr media
Lulled into silence I guess that’s all you can do when a guild is corrupt from the Guild Master Pomchi to acting Guild Master Rxkt, and the unapologetic “everyone’s out to get us because we’re the best” stance that they’re taking. You could leave, but then who would you prefer to run Harrow Hold with, Amaterasu or some guild that can’t clear the first day of release?
Tumblr media
Such behaviour has become a pattern with Amaterasu and serves to promote other guilds to cheat in order to remain competitive. If they can do it and continue to get away with it, then what’s stopping others from doing the same? Again, not all of them are exploiting, and I’m not speaking of the basic packet injecting for ping equalization. A significant amount of them did memeslash that they had to postpone raiding for two weeks, as stated by Pomchi in the screenshot above.
I don't think Amaterasu is a bad guild. I think members in the guild make it bad, by ruining its name. Then you have them being ignored and excused by the Guild Master/acting Guild Master.
Thank you to all of you who submitted. It wouldn’t be possible without your contribution.

Note
hi, it seems that you hold a personal agenda towards "Bernkastel" because of his actions, and it seems you have accumulated misinformation and bias. you said that bernkastel had a role in creating and distributing memeslash, which makes no sense to me. over and over, you repeat that bern sells scripts so that makes him a bad person. but why would he distribute memeslash for free if he sells scripts? that would just ruin his business. it's also very incorrect.
Inform yourself.

But then, he only makes things to help.

Tumblr media
I’ve had people call into question my bias. I’m always going to seem biased to someone or some group, no matter how impartial I try to remain. I’m putting a spotlight on the bad elements of Tera and that’s always going to rub some people the wrong way. I am a player, and the aggravation of what I’m witnessing does bleed through at times. When I first set out in making this Tumblr I had every intention of remaining unbiased and I succeeded with my first article, despite Bernkastel’s critiques.
It’s my job as the author of this Tumblr to present the facts and explain them, now more so than ever, when you have members of TeraOnline’s Discord attempting to blur the line between truth and falsehoods. Don’t take what you read or hear as fact, not even what I write, ask for the proof and do your own research. I wouldn’t expect you to believe me otherwise.
People are attempting to identify who I am, like it matters. We cherish our reputations within Tera’s community, but too many times have people like Bernkastel done shitty things and fallen back on the premise of their intentions being good because they wrote some class guide 1-2 years ago. As though that excuses the part they played in selling scripts and their role in creating memeslash. Oh, but it existed already you say? Who made it easily accessible to even a pleb with no knowledge of coding  thus making it mainstream.
Who I am doesn’t matter. Coming into this I’ve not asked anyone to trust me based on my reputation, but to judge me based on what you view here. What we do is more important than what we’ve done, the sooner that sinks in for some, the less shitty of a place Tera Online will be.
If for some reason you choose to believe that my anonymity or at times perceived bias, discredits the things I write than you should look elsewhere. If the evidence provided isn’t enough for you, nothing ever will be.
My post on Amaterasu will be published tomorrow, where you can look forward to some evidence, and as always - Judge for yourself!

En Masse’s Statement Is Nothing But PR Done Wrong
Within a day the community forced a response out of En Masse Entertainment on the leak carried out by Essential Mana (EM) content writer Obs, also known as Obsie of the guild Amaterasu. We also looked at Amaterau’s involvement and Bobbuz’s role as Essential Mana’s head chief.
I have updates I’d like to get to in a few planned posts, along with screenshots that I’ve collected and had sent in by some of you, until then you’ll have to bare with me as I rip apart at En Masse.
Seandynamite wrote a statement telling those of us wearing tin foil hats that we were in fact correct. Duh. You don’t say. It’s amazing what happens when the communities outrage is peaked to the point you can’t get away with labelling us as crazy conspirators.
Tumblr media
Seandynamite acknowledges the implications the leak has on the economy and how detrimental they can be.
Tumblr media
This can be taken two ways; either they did provide EM with other sensitive information (so my sources have led me to believe) as that doesn’t fall under being publicly shared since it was privately distributed (hence the outrage), or En Masse didn’t share other details with them as specifically mentioned, but that doesn’t do anything to suggest they don’t have the full spectrum of knowledge pertaining to the particular areas mentioned above; token shop prices, material amounts and how much is needed. Not the least bit comforting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their usual practice of having Non-Disclosure Agreements signed. Lets be clear, there’s nothing usual about them collaborating with content writers for Tera, that’s whats meant by kick-start. Sensitive information will still be handed out prior to the release of content, the word immediate is still left to their discretion. Small adjustments sums this up perfectly, along side PR gone wrong.
Tumblr media
Well intended but poorly executed. Handing players knowledge they can exploit and leak without the consequence of prosecution. You handed it to them on good faith without having ever worked with Essential Mana before. “Kick-start a working relationship.” - Seandynamite 2017
Tumblr media
The player whose confirmed to have leaked is now known to all of us and has been known by En Masse days prior to my publishing. Meaning that his isn’t new information to them and they have been given a proper amount of time to react.
What we do know for sure is that Obs/Obsie, has been shifted to a different project, and still remains a content writer for Essential Mana. When and if En Masse does work with EM again, there’s nothing to stop him from being part of to the collaboration, after all they have signed NDA’s now. He won’t be able to tell people what he knows without being in breach, but he can still use his knowledge in the ways he was to cash in or indirectly influence others to make informed decisions. As seen 3 days before En Masse’s emergency post:
Tumblr media
Nothing happened to the individuals that leaked or were leaked to.
No one has was banned.
No one was fired.
En Masse still intends to work with EM going forward.
I have more articles coming, so be sure to check back. It’s taking me some time to go through the screenshots and appropriately place them, and by that same train of thought I don’t want to be publishing half-assed articles without vetting my sources.

En Masse's Cover Up & Essential Mana
You may or may not have noticed that En Masse (EmE) has made an emergency post to save some face recently. We've all be theorizing the value exchanges for the new enchanting system, using Loriri's knowledge of KTera as a blueprint for preparation as next patch launches. Unfortunately, not everyone has had to guess. Yep, it's true. There was a leak and it started with Essential Mana being handed the value chart a week before it was announced, with the hope they'd make guides detailing the new Enchanting system changes that are coming.
First I want to introduce a group of users that a lot of players may not even be aware of. That would be the new Essential Mana (EM) team. The website was originally run by a user named Floss but she has since quit and moved on. Bobbuz stepped up to take on the task of keeping the website up to date. However, if you check their About Us section it seems to still be outdated. I’ll touch on why this is an issue later on.
It looks like En Masse decided to rope in some help with creating comprehensive guides that would explain how the new gear system works. I can applaud Eme for admitting their lack of knowledge of the game but the way they went about this was completely in the wrong.
After getting in touch with EM, En Masse disclosed sensitive information. The documents included the conversion rates for the old materials to be turned into tokens and the cost of the new materials from the token shop. This gave a small handful of players a way to exploit the game by taking advantage of favorable broker prices before anyone else had a chance. The term for this is called insider trading. They were also players willing to leak the information to other players.
The leak started small and spread like wildfire. Amaterasu was the first to get their hands on the information after Obsie, a writer for Essential Mana and a guild member of Amaterasu, leaked the values. As a result players of Mount Tyrannas might've seen or suspected foul play when they saw semi-enigmatics being sold at ridiculously low prices as players attempted to unload and stock up. This isn't the first time Amaterasu top tier PvE guild has been involved in scandal, most notable as the first guild on MT to get their hands on the packet injector long before it went viral.
Tumblr media
Remember that out of date About Us section? This means we have no idea who is actually on the EM team. We know Bobbuz and Obs (Obsie) were a driving force behind the leaks but there could be more. These are not players with a public rank, like the player council. These are players that can be completely anonymous to the community and therefor have nothing to lose by leaking or exploiting information. They were not under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and they are not a member of a group set up by EME. This means that any significant leak or action taken by a member can and has gone unpunished.
Players taking every advantage to be the best is by far a foreign concept, but ask anyone who plays the game or even those who don't.. When you give individuals information that offers them the means to make millions of gold, are you expecting it to remain a secret until officially announced when there's nothing preventing them from speaking out?
Since all of this has happened EME has prematurely announced it's conversion table as a PR stunt to distract from what's happened and cause people to question the accuracy of whether or not people actually knew the values before now. They did, in case that point didn't sink in.
So what has happened since the leak was made public? Not much. En Masse gave half the information needed to the player base as a way to equalize the market playing field a little bit. The EM members are now under an NDA and En Masse is continuing work on this project like nothing has happened. The Product Manager even comes to the defense of the group claiming the community is wearing tinfoil hats.
Tumblr media
EME has also promised an investigation into what's happened. Here's where the investigation ends; En Masse Entertainment is stupid for trusting a group of individuals and has since made Essential Mana sign an NDA, what good that'll do us now or in the future remains to be seen. Bobbuz, the one running the show at Essential Mana has moved Obsie out of the gear revamp team, not to be mistaken with removed, as that would imply some integrity and ownership of the situation that's unfolded on Essential Mana's side.
It is worth mentioning that the player council, the original white knights for En Masse, has been oddly silent. Outside of a few defensive comments saying they were not given any information about the upcoming patch, we haven’t really seen much from them. There are many questions being asked about the player council and it’s purpose if En Masse has to go to a completely unknown group for feedback and advice.
Lesson of the day? Insider trading is a thing even in MMOs, who knew. You don't get to be top tier Amaterasu without dirtying your hands.

It appears the 3rd party creators have Tera on checkmate. Not only is the software apparently undetectable, barely anyone had been banned and now Streisand effect is taking over and many use it. I actually think there is potential for a niche market to move into Tera and develop malicious/botting services for massive financial gain given the massive publicity. None of the creators seem to mind much and like meishu said, the bargaining chip is gone. How do you feel about this series of events?
I faced a similar predicament in writing on the topic of third party programs. I wanted it to be as detailed as possible so that people had all the facts and knew I wasn’t making stuff up, while also trying not to come off as endorsing packet injecting and the figureheads behind it.
I remember when the packet injector first blew up.. It was on MT after the archer buff landed, one guild had the injector and the other wanted it, meanwhile Teri was banning people from publishing their DPS and an argument ensued on the damage meter discord. Meme’s in game quickly started popping up with the names ‘packet’ and ‘injector’ with many wearing syringe back slots. Not too long later everyone seemed to be using it. Back then it was only Meishu’s concept being passed around, so it only worked for 3 skills across 3 different classes, one of which was rapid fire and given how archers were the NEW OP class that only helped move things along.
If EME wanted to act they should have done so immediately after learning about the injector, what they did instead was release a statement on stream that put it in the same category as DPS meter, translation; we don’t want you to use it but we’re not going to stop you if you do.
Instead EME waited to act and when they did it was half-cocked, going after the scripters behind the injector, without having an actual system in place to prevent it from working??? The stupidity is unbelievable. I have to leave.
I’m back from my walk. I’m going to be blunt. Enmasse is a company and to give into the scripters now after pulling their one and only move is likely to never happen, call it pride if you will or blame it on the legality, it’s never going to happen. It would be great if it did, but it’s never going to happen. Just asking them to clarify their stance on why ALL third party programs are now unacceptable, when damage meter was accepted by staff in the past is proving difficult.
EME played the only hand available to them and they couldn’t even manage it right. If there’s malicious scripts now it’s because they’ve proven themselves to be incompetent, while actually promoting the very thing they wanted to stop. All the while pissing off the scripting figureheads by banning them. This is only going to get worse.
They could have also went about it discretely, but instead they created a handful of martyrs. All in a days work.

do you think tera's pve community is going to goto shit without yosha guides? im also curious on your opinion for the tera boycott
I think having Yosha removed from the guide making business is definitely going to hurt a lot of people. Now more than ever we’re going to have to do our own research. There's also the chance people will step up in his stead, there were quite a few Harrow Hold 1.0 guides written by multiple players.
I think having the boycott last 7 days it too large of a goal. I also don’t think it’s going to achieve the results people are looking for. Enmasse has already shown us they aren’t willing to listen, so what concern are they going to have with a weeks worth of metrics that depict a drop in players?
I think there are better ways to go about being heard such as collecting names, as shown with the ‘down voting.’ You can’t just dismiss the collected opinion of 1,436 people.

How The Tide Hasn’t Changed
I’ve been browsing the old forums in an attempt to find what I remember being one of Treeshark’s Letter’s to the community If you recall around FIHM patch there was some drama, I believe surrounding delays to content after they were promised to be that month. It’s happened so many times who can be sure.
Well, I couldn’t find that thread specifically but this’ll do just fine.
Tumblr media
1,436 down votes. It felt good to invoke change. They robbed us of down voting when they swapped over to forum build 2.0, in an attempt to silence us. When has EME ever fixed something ‘wrong’ in this game, yet they went out of their way to make a new forum? Suspicious.
Now they just ban you preemptively on the forums. RIP Yosha.  https://personalyosha.tumblr.com/post/160190862308/so-im-technically-banned

PC stands for Politically Correct?
Definitely not where this guy’s concerned. It would be nice to see a little more tact from individuals who wear a label and stand for something. After all Player Council are ‘representatives’ of the community.

Who I am doesn’t matter, what I represent does. You can find out more about me here.
This is going to be long, so bear with me. Note: Some images are a little hard to read, a list of all image links can be found at the very end.
Tera online has had its issues for a long time. Poor optimisation, lag that worsens with every patch and limitations on what classes people can play based on ping, as well as race and gender. That’s without even touching on the bugs and exploits that have been around for years.
These issues are by no means recent. They’ve been known for a long time and we’ve all chosen to play the game despite them. Sure, we’d love to see them fixed, but the reality is that they haven’t been and most likely never will be.
Tumblr media
It’s incredibly hard to separate between EME and BHS, so allow me to do my best to explain the difference. EME is a blind kid in a pitch black room being led to the door via BHS’ instructions. When EME falls flat on their ass the community blames them. When in actuality they fell because BHS provided poor instructions.
The above at least applies when considering content patches and any patch fixes that pop up along the way. By no means does this excuse them in other areas, such as event planning, lack of transparency and being out of touch with the communities needs and expectations.
What is evident by recent actions is that the way a community is run is at the discretion of the region and thus the Community Manager, and by extension the publisher they represent.
Tumblr media
Damage (DPS) was mainly speculation back when DPS meter was ever a thing. I still remember during the early inception of Tera and how people thought poison skills were high DPS because they ripped threat from tanks. Wrong obviously, poisons skills in general did for some strange reason or bug?
Running MCHM with people was always about class choice and individual performance. Whereas now we know, while DPS classes aren’t equal in the potential DPS they can do, there are people who play less overpowered (OP) classes better than players playing the OP ones.
With the removal of crusades the competitive scene died down a lot. The PvP scene has since diminished to all but nothing for a number of reasons, with the leading contributor being the removal of the crusade board. PvE on the other hand is the only competitive scene left, due largely to DPS meter.
There's no denying that the DPS meter’s ingrained in this games culture and the removal of it is an umbrella of synonyms for the words stupid and ignorant.
Tumblr media
Packet Injector
Injector! Injector! Injector! Injector! The reason we’re here.
I’m an advocate of the packet injector, as it was originally intended for; allowing players to play the game at low ping no matter where they’re from. How can anyone be against that? People can pick a class that wouldn’t necessarily be suited to their ping and even enter the competitive scene because of it.
Move to Chicago!
Fuck you. I’m trying to remain unbiased but that response comes across entitled. I’m glad that you live in Chicago or you might actually have to form an educated opinion on the matter. We shouldn’t have to move state or country to be able to play the game. Nor do I think it’s against the best interest of EME and its longevity. Now players across the world and those closer to home with crappy connections, can play the game the way the game is meant to be played. Doesn’t sound like a poor business decision to me.
Tumblr media
The ones behind the code
Meishu, known for creating the proxy injector. While their endeavor was a noble one, in setting out to help players by reducing the discrepancy between high and low ping, they also held the door open. Allowing scripters with less helpful intentions to come in and lay waste, toeing the line of what is or isn’t acceptable.
Tumblr media
Their concept design was later improved upon by Bernkastel and Pinkie Pie, theirs only worked for gunner and ninja, affecting the classes energy bar spenders and archer’s rapid fire.
Bernkastel, known for his moderating of the Tera Online official discord, Tera subreddit and paid script writing services. If you have yet to visit, this is his website: https://teraproxy.tumblr.com
Tumblr media
He charges one million a script, of which more than a few cross the line on what is acceptable.
Here’s where it gets murky. Scripts that take away from EME’s revenue, with outfits at the click of a button that persist through teleporting and logging out. As well as some that quite frankly play the game for you, that instant block after every attack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it’s apparently unavailable due to ethical considerations, one has to ask why make such a script in the first place? And will your ethical boundaries hold true now that you’re banned? Lets take a look.
Tumblr media
The ethical gloves are off now. Thank you EME, for reacting without a proper plan in motion. Instead of preventing packet injecting from working, you banned the scripters and pissed them off by doing so. Quickening the escalation of the issue.
Tumblr media
While the picture doesn’t prove anything not already known, there is a big argument between selling scripts and artwork and how different the two really are. Rather than discuss the obvious, in regards to how artwork helps promote the game and scripting is treated black and white by most. I’ll ask this; how many artists post on the official forums asking to be paid via Paypal? I haven’t seen any, and if they did they’d be banned. Would you feel safe offering to sell scripts on the official forums without being banned, even if it were for gold? If your answer is no, as I’d expect it to be, then you know it’s wrong. Sucky, because it’s your time and energy being spent to produce these scripts, but ultimately it is wrong.
Pinkie Pie, they also went by the name Pinkie on Tempest reach. Known for scripting and leading the proxy discord. They also create, improve on and publish other peoples works, making it easier for people to get their hands on.
Tumblr media
Just to name a few of the scripts they’ve dabbled in. Unlike their counterpart Bernkastel, they offer their scripts for free. However there are a large number of scripts traded privately on the discord itself.
Some of which include:
HP Dump - Drops a players HP for slaying runs.
Enrage Announcements - As it reads, alerts you when enrage is up, how long it’s up for and what HP % enrage will be up next.
Mana Potion - Automatically uses mana potion when your mana falls below a certain threshold.
I must admit, some of these seem like quality of life changes. If there are no limits to what the proxy is capable of then where does it end? Where is it headed? Will the game be better or worse off if the packet injector is left unchecked? Remembering that scripters are only answerable to themselves, the sky’s the limit, unless EME intervenes.
Kourinn, the scripter responsible for cosplay-master. Not much else is known of him other than he has a good sense of self preservation. Shutting down his Github and taking a vow of silence on the proxy after declaring he’s fleeing the country. If ‘country’ were to mean the proxy scene. This was his Github: https://github.com/Kourinn/
Tumblr media
The risks for scripting were known. Most didn’t practice any discretion, with their in game names matching their Discord, Tumblr and Github. Thus making them easy to find and ban. Surely there’s no surprise?
There are a few other scriptwriters but these are the main three, with an added addition.
The packet injectors potential is limitless as we’re learning with new scripts popping up every day. It’s not hard to understand why people are fearful and why Enmasse felt the need to step in.
Especially when the culture to break and destroy things is being celebrated on the proxy discord, although not by all. The mere fact Memeboy felt he was safe enough to announce in a channel of 800+ people, should be a huge red flag to everyone. Signifying that the culture around 3rd party programs is only worsening.
Tumblr media
The exploit only allowed for them to purchase from a tier higher than theirs, while they appear to be T10 they were actually T2, the credits on the other hand are only client sided (aren’t usable).
Cheat engine was responsible for the emporium exploit and not the packet injector, but what do semantics matter at this point? The actions of Memeboy prompted a response from EME, when they were otherwise silent on the topic before.
Tumblr media
It was expected action would be taken.
I guess EME figured they couldn’t just condemn one exploit, knowing how far the proxy has gotten, or it might come off looking like endorsement. Encouraging people to further explore what the injector is capable of.
Tumblr media
Coupled with the use of the packet injector to get over the barricade at RMHM’s first boss. Yep, it’s doable without. It’s also a lot easier to do with it. Joining random LFG groups and seeing it being done with such ease is proof of that.
This next part originally started out titled ‘The first 24 hours,’ which has since long past.
You Won’t Believe What Happens Next..
Tumblr media
Threats against Enmasse.
Tumblr media
Witch hunts, after the Player Council (and not just against Yamazuki, who’s comments are generally )
Tumblr media
Proxy Discord teaching 800+ people how to access GM Panel, this was a few hours before Spacecats weekly stream. This was with the packet injector, and NOT cheat engine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Misinformation, but on whose end?
Tumblr media
A call for communication, when this is the leading mindset.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Turning their backs, big names like Loriri (responsible for translating KTera patch notes) turning their back on Tera Online, despite their claims to love the game and wanting to see it grow. How do you think reviews like his appear to new players. Just check the hours played. If I were a new player reading what he wrote, knowing his position and hours spent playing, I wouldn’t bother playing. I hope he adjusts his stance or deletes it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ownership of how it could all go wrong, Pinkie Pie claiming responsibility for shutting down a game with a hack they released.
Tumblr media
Proof that even ‘Gods’ fall.
Tumblr media
Silencing on both the official forums and official Tera discord, the Tera Discord remaining unwelcome to people with differing opinions ‘white knights’ and the Tera Forums which bans both sides black and white on the subject.
Tumblr media
A little over 14 pages since Noesis’ statement declaring EME’s stance on all 3rd party programs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Proof that even ‘white knights’ get forum banned. Look at that forum name.
If it looks like I’m going after anyone or leaning more on the scripters and moderators of the official discord and Tera subreddit, that’s because it’s hard not to. If you have yet to realise it then allow me to clarify, the official discord moderators are mostly scripters and Tera subreddit moderators.
When you consider one group holding three important roles in the Tera community, you understand why there’s so much more content on their side to focus on than their is from the other side of the table, and Enmasse. They’re also a company that clocks off, while we keep going.
Because of such it makes it difficult for players, new and old, to find accurate information on what’s going on because a lot of it is being controlled by one side.
Both sides have their faults. I’m not going to point out who is or isn’t to blame for all of this. I’m trying to remain impartial with this posting and so here’s a list of things to consider instead:
Acknowledgement from scripters that they could be banned at any time (displayed in the above screenshots). Knowing what they were doing was deemed wrong by Tera’s Terms of Service.
There is no line or limitation that scripters can’t cross which leads to the concerning question ‘what’s next?’
Enmasse reacting poorly by banning scripters without a system in place to prevent 3rd party software.*
EME/BHS stuck in their ways and refusing to evolve. This game has stripped itself of features like Crusade Boards that made this game competitive, telling people no to DPS meter when it’s keeping PvE worth doing.
Community expectations and demands going unanswered.
This game was made to be played with sub 30 ping.
NA Tera players are from everywhere around the world. Ping is inconsistent and the games lag is only worsening, people want a solution and proxy is the only one available.
Outfit scripts that potentially take away from EMP revenue, hurting the game.
Tumblr media
*Enmasse reacting without proper consideration of what could and would happen is another disturbing element to consider. Not having a system or code in place to prevent 3rd party programs, particularly packet injecting, since those are the only known scripters to have been targeted, is a big problem. If you know a terrorist has a bomb you should be trying to disarm it first or at least have a system preventing them from using it on you, not killing their families and ignorantly expecting them to never go after you. Excuse the metaphor, it isn’t for everyone.
We need to be moving forward as a community. This games population is already quite small and continues to decline. It’s longevity is on all of us.
Going forward
EME/BHS clearly don’t have a system in place to prevent 3rd party programs and people are threatening to quit even if they do. The best option for all involved is for EME to impose limitations and guidelines for scripters, which requires a sit down to speak with them.
Most games have mods and addons that improve the quality of Game play and keep people interested. The way it’s being done isn’t ‘acceptable’ but this game has no interface that allows modding/addons. This has to be the only game that instead of adding features, removes them (crusade boards).
This has been my attempt to provide some perspective on both sides of the table. All images can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/13l40

Cool like a cucumber.
Not everything is black and white. This Tumblr embraces the gray and explores topics and drama without the bullshit. No white noise. No lies. Claims that can be backed with evidence, with as little bias as possible.
Sit back and relax. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
