Another Travel Commission..
I’ve just completed another commission for a fellow traveller; collaging together some of her favourite photographs of architecture to create a fictional and personal cityscape.
I made a mock up using photoshop, collaging together the various cities, including: Leeds, London, Annecy (France), and Milan (Italy).
I worked with a variety of mediums including: watercolour, gouache, ink, fine liner…

I spent the month of July working on my biggest commission yet, a 6 metre mural to be installed in Southgate car park.
I created a fictional cityscape of Bath, capturing both the iconic Georgian architecture and my favourite parts of the city in one piece. By using a variety of perspectives I tried to give the painting a three dimensional effect, with the mural/river spilling out onto the neighbouring wall.
Geographically, my cityscape begins and ends in the same place. It starts at the river Avon, with Parade Gardens trees in the background, flows up towards Pulteney Bridge and weir, leading onto Bath Abbey and finishing with a front view of Parade Gardens.
I used Photoshop to make a visual of my idea, balancing out the composition and creating an organic shape to have as the outline. I took this image into Illustrator and made a file to be used with the CNC Router, cutting the Marine Plywood sheets I had to paint my mural on, into the desired shape.
After picking a colour palette, all that was left to do was paint!
A write up on my latest commission, a 6 metre mural for Southgate car park, Bath. I spent the month of July working on my biggest commission yet, a 6 metre mural to be installed in Southgate car park.
