i think i'll have to close heyteo... i know it sounds silly because i really do love getting tagged even though that sounds a bit pathetic. But i have not been able to keep up + i don't want anyone to think i am ignoring them (as a matter of fact everything is in either drafts or queue) + i don't like to half ass anything -> silly tags included. Is that stupid i feel like i am letting my friends down LMFAO

Tip for Photopea users.

In the Templates section you can find beside templates to make resumes patterns, fonts and PSDs.

To make the sign on top you can go in the SIGNS section, you click on the one you prefer (Neon Sign by Cameron CAMBIT) and it will open a new window with the PSD to use.

There´s a search bar in the middle to find PSD colorings if you don´t want to scroll through the 225 entries in the OTHER section.

On the top there´s a tab where you can find patterns, brushes...

For the brushes/gradients and the like it won´t open a new window like for PSDs but it will automatically save those resources on Photopea.

I've been getting multiple asks like this one. So, to everyone, including that person - my sweet summer child, do I look like a human embodiment of an Ezgif to you? I've given a clear reason for why I'm not currently making any Wtfock gifs. It's because of reposters and people like you who treat gifmakers as if they were a Pinterest board. We make gifs because it's enjoyable and allows us to create amazing content as a hobby.

People like you are draining the fun and enjoyment out of it. I'm not a machine, and I'm not obligated to make gifs just because you or someone else told me to. I spend hours on gifsets, sometimes even days. So, don't tell me it's easy. Where are your gifs then anon? Do you think I simply take a video from YouTube, say "abracadabra" and a gif magically appears with animation, color correction, typography, and layouts for more complex sets?

To Twitter reposters, it's extremely clear that you didn't make that gif. We can tell this because we're familiar with our own sharpening/cropping and coloring settings, having memorized them over the years. Oh and, don't claim you found it on the tl either. If you didn't make it and it's not your work, then why are you reposting it?

Look, I know I've said that gifmaking isn't easy, but it's not impossible. There are numerous people and source blogs that can help you out in learning how to make gifs. Hell, I even put together a small masterpost with tutorials that were helpful for me when I was starting out.

Gifmaking 101

Instead of stealing gifs, you can learn how to make your own. If you have any questions, you can simply message a gifmaker and ask for advice.

I understand that my post probably won't do much or stop the reposters. However, I hope that some of you will realize that giving proper credit and showing respect to your fellow fandom members is the absolute bare minimum.

Some of you are sure pretty quick on reposting gifs considering this gif comes from a set from few days ago with 19 reblogs (thank you to @huaschengs for letting me know)

Which got me doing a quick Google. I know gifs get reposted to the awful blue bird app 🐦 but seeing these just cracked me open into 8 pieces... it's in a AO3/Wattpad fanfic, Soompi article, a reddit post, equally as awful as twitter reposter heaven pinterest, knock off tumblr infested with single mom in your area ads, it's on youtube, tiktok and etc...

For the record I still do not and never allowed reposting on tumblr or any other platform

(It's written in my description, but some of you are commenting "what drama is this" and don't bother checking the tag I guess some people just don't read)

A lot of us small creators on tumblr have constant internal battle of notes shouldn't matter and post what you like, when you finally gif for a small fandom and then you see this reposting sht!! Reposting is the heaviest straw that definitely killed the camel.

So this is NOT a complaint but literally last week I started stitching together gifs as smart objects to bypass the MAX 10 IMAGES rule, and I was so proud of myself, and now @staff you're telling me that I can upload up to x30 gifs AT A TIME!??

why are people always stealing other’s gifset ideas without credit? I see it all the time and I get upset for the people who did it first. they get no recognition for starting trends. as fellow creators, you would think they’d understand how frustrating it can be to have uniquely executed ideas replicated without credit but maybe it’s not something they can relate to when everything they’ve ever made was regurgitated from someone else’s vision. I had someone actually remake my gifset recently without as much as an inspiration credited link and when I say remake I mean they literally made the same gifset with the same coloring, typography, blending and overall execution and thought it was permissible?

i really want to gif one of my favourite dialogues in dräge2 but do i really want to go down that road again... last time i was (more or less) actively contributing to the franchise in any way i swore i would never do it again. i would never get involved. in Any way. never again will i give ANYTHING to this community. BUT.......... then again, it was never about Giving to the community, i made things i personally wanted to look at. but then......... the community will Interact :/

📢 PSA on COD gif thief & edit reposter

just a heads up that the user @/staytrueblue has been caught stealing and reposting gif sets from call of duty gif and graphic makers. she has blocked people who have called her out on it. she excused her behavior by lying and saying she is "new to tumblr" — when other users have vetted she has been on this site since at least 2022.

examples and proof are below the cut.

when this individual was called out, they gave a half-assed apology and still seem convinced/entitled that they could repost entire gifsets with credit (also see below cut). they then blocked the original gifmaker and then began to make passive aggressive, snide comments toward those creators in their future posts.

this is why i encourage people to reblog from original gifmakers and graphic artists—not just liking posts—in order to support them. it's not fair that these plagiarists gather clout, followers, and interactions from work made by other people.

heey there!!!! First of all sorry for taking so long to reply to this, I was so happy with your nice comments that I wanted to give you a proper insight on how I do it, but unfortunately I'm quite HORRIBLE at explaining things?

I'll put it under the cut because it's gonna be a long post! but if you have any doubts my askbox is always open!!!!

So first of all I already gave some tips on how does my process with coloring gifs work so you can check it on my resources and tips tag

As you said you are also a fellow gifmaker so I'll take it from there as I assume you already know gif 101, but if you are new to this you can again check my tag for some beginners tips

Also want to point out this lovely tutorial by @ajusnice that might be even more helpful, since I learned a lot from it

Disclaimer: i'm colorblind, I can see all the hues, just not all the shades and I tend to struggle with greens, oranges and yellows so apologies for any mistakes or if this turns out looking weird!

HOW TO COLOR TINTED SCENES????

So at this point I hope you already have you gif all cut down to the size that you want and used your fav action/sharpening presets ( I use this or this actions to sharpen my gifs

Now I'll use the footage down bellow as it is really blue tinted and I worked with it for this gifset (MoTA SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!) so it looks like this

3. So the first thing I do is work with curse as it gives me a better grasp of what I have and how do I want to go with it. I have been using this method where you go to Curves >> Click on the top right menu >> Auto Options

4. Now a new window thing will open up and then I click on the option Find Dark and Light Colors, as you can see my gif already looks a lot brighter and now so tinted

5. this is how my gif looks like I selected that option

6. still does look a little blue-ish doesn't it? Okay so now I'll go to some adjustment layers, the first thing I do is work with hue/saturation. I'll go to the cyans and blues first and I want to remove some of the blue tint of my scene. I prefer to decrease the saturation of those colors so it looks a bit like this

and my gif looks like this

7. So here is our first problem, while I took away the blues my gif now looks a little dull as the scene was delivered to us in such a different color scheme, It wasn't supposed to look like this so now we need to color correct!! For this I work my way around vibrance/saturation so my menu looks like this

8. Problem #2 because now it looks too blue tinted AGAIN! so I just repeat step 6 again so my menus look like this

and my gif looks like this

9. from now on it's only about some details such as correct the brightness/contrast of the scene and I personally like to use the color balance adjustment layer, I'll leave it all here

10. finally one of my fav adjustment layers -> SELECTIVE COLOR i just mess around until it looks nice to me, I'll leave the configs I used down bellow
