Sometime, after finishing the Zwilly Herbs event and returning from vacation, I might need to ramble about the weight of "Fate" and legacy in the Leithanien plotlines and how I empathize with that in my own life. Esp since I'm also German/Swiss/Austrian, and also grew up in a few mighty shadows.

Needless to say, it gives me a lot to think about with the current event. And there's a reason my interpretation of Ebenholz favors him breaking free of the weight of legacy to forge an entirely new path.

The different papers don’t represent AUs, but fanart and fanfic that’s been produced by the fandom! The very thing that keeps Ink going!

I snuck in a couple subtle references to a few Ink-centric fics that I hear are pretty good 👀. Look for the initials

There’s a couple classic UT references in here as well, golden flower, save star (behind the text) and a doodle of the human and monster from the intro cutscene!

Also you can probably notice the silly cameo of Acrylic from my friend’s AU, Hexverse!

The final paper Ink is holding, the rainbow heart doodle, sorta represents the idea that art, creativity, the fandom itself is their “soul”, and also it signifies the love we’ve given to this super cool character! <3

What if eben leaves one of his goats behind to keep kreide company.. thatd be really cute. itd be similar to eyja’s sheep.. Of course he would have to visit again from time to time for health checkups and admin stuff

kreide can finally make friends too... he probably joined that book club eben was in. theres a slim chance he could be a field operator (he would definitely be a bard) but i think he would be more human resources adjacent. maybe he’d join hibiscus as a medic, or as an assistant at least

i also imagine that eben would start wearing his eine variation after ZT. hed also buy new clothes for kreide and lessing too.. Many... Many clothes (also eben: money is how youll remember me?!) Its also quite funny that eben gets enrolled at a university after ZT, as if he hasnt suffered enough?? good luck eben lol

i crave for kreide and lessing interaction.. kreide would be very thankful for him babysitting eben during ZT, as well as accompanying him to urtica. lessing would really look up to kreide too, very much a positive influence in general.. hed also swear to protect kreide the same way he does ebenholz (reminding me of a very nice art where ebkr are twin emperors and lessing is an emperors voice)

The event of Dr. Lundi half-crying on the bus back home because she couldn't stream to us BUYING the SKIN will be a core memory created based on eternal friendship. I will never be happier to wake up than I am when I see an 'Eve, can I be soggy again?' before being bombarded with Mlynar details and ramblings regardless of what I say.

There's a lot to unpack but I can't possibly ever talk about Mlynar the same way Lundi does in VC. She pulls up receipts proof of her words as well every time she mentions something.

Based on this --- Based on this post about our Arknights Yumeship's kid being bullied, I had a little spiral and was just thinking about different scenarios. Out of all the answers given, Kryo's is most direct and... very in character towards his sarkaz/draco child.

Lundi's also leaning towards physical aggression, instant retaliation for their little baba horse.

And then I just... imploded... (This was on the basis of the parents trying to justify their child's behaviour)

While Pinkie is not too interested on the aspect of children we've been trying to involve them more in the Yumeship questions just because their relationship with Swire/Chen is SO wholesome but they're shy to actually indulge. It's alright, we will always be there for the sugarbaby ultramind that is our friend.

You can see this conversation was very important to me.

Vigorously searched for the video, but basically, me and the Team were watching Unusual Memes from this one channel and one of them was of a guy who walked up to his neighbour/friend's home camera and said 'Well, you DON'T get to decide when to party, I want you around now.' And well... if that isn't Lundi pulling Dr. Eve out of bed during some of her emotional episodes.

In reference to this, Dr. Pinkie was upset Lundi wasn't just breaking down my door because she usually does that without asking. So some edits were applied and a part 2 has been added:

Hi, you said you wanted to hear more about Impulse Has Money And It Makes Things Weird (but it felt off topic from the post so I'm coming in here)

Essentially, it's what it says on the tin. Impulse is the one with money, able to hold down a steady job (whether it's the same one or he's just able to smoothly transition between them, I dunno yet). Zed, Tango, and Skizz all have various reasons for, well, not having money. (Loans for passion project [Decked Out, Diamond Beacon], school loans, bad luck [Skizz cannot keep a car from breaking down somehow], getting jobs and having the company almost immediately crash and burn, etc.) Impulse is working constantly, digging his claws into his jobs because rent keeps going up and his inflow is what's holding everything together. Impulse doesn't begrudge any of them the situation, and keeps trying to help as much as he can with lending money and such, but it makes things Awkward because they all feel like they're using him for cash and can't really pay him back yet, and he feels like he's working too much to spend quality time with them like they deserve.

There's a conversation where STZ pick up more of the housework, the cleaning and dishes and laundry and such, because 'oh Impulse is so tired from working all the time, it's the least we can do since he keeps lending us money for emergencies and none of us can pay him back' And Impulse starts feeling guilty that he's not helping enough around the house because he's tired from work, and he doesn't want people thinking he's just paying STZ to do stuff for him; he's doing this all because he cares, but once money gets involved, everything is so complicated

Basically it's a winding way of projecting some of my real-life situation into one where things can have a happy ending (the passion projects make bank, Skizz breaks into stunt-acting or something, there's a flash forward scene where Impulse has a temporarily empty wallet on a vacation and the other three fight over giving him cash). And also be poly ZITS.

oh this is SO interesting and i really enjoyed reading this!! because YEAH, money really does complicate things and i really enjoy reading about these kinds of complicated relationship type things (with the happy ending, ofc) because you get to see how the characters deal with it and try to navigate the situation with each other.

like how ZTS tries to help in their own way and how impulse reacts to That in turn... ough, they care about each other so much!

Thats a wip cuz I have more ideas but no energy to act upon them yet but I'll get there eventually. I wanted to make it a small animatic and add one shot where we see her changing form but its slightly off camera

At first I wanted Eleanor to have an argument with Florian but I feel like it doesnt necessarily make sense- but also it does- idk- but alsooo I still dont know whether to put the kids in separate timelines or to throw them all together because I like both scenarios a lot

Anyway- I actually struggled a bit into trying to make her demon form look cute yet very similar to zhan tiri's. But I thought it was funny to make her horns grow downward since she wears her pigtails low (in contrast of ZT who has her hairbuns on the top of her head and her horns are more upward-) but it kinda implies she is stuck with her pigtails for forever and I hate that so I uh... her older design will be a headache for future me maybe

Anyway I like her she is baby.

She becomes obsessed about not becoming like ZT but accidentally ends up doing the opposite

Is she related to ZT? An offspring? Some sort of reincarnation? Or something else entirely? I don't know. No one does. Either way she is Var's adopted kid now and no one questions it because of course that explains everything

so! so. you See. this is all about my boy artyom (ZT001-058) and his dr volkov. i was gonna caption this "my father's love is suffocating me". for you see . dr volkov. he works at the facility, yes? and ohohho, hes not a father in simply a metaphorical way. NO hes his biological loser! the facility doesnt know that dr volkov is artymos dad - after artyom was born it was Immediatly known that he was a mutant. his mom died during childbirth. volkov thoguht "oh god, i lost my beloved, i cant lose my son too..." and basically went "No!!! NOT my fucking kid." n because they werent married. he just. refused to take a dna test. so they didnt have any proof. anyway, being a scientist at the facility, volkov becomes zt's primary caretaker. if the only way to see his son grow is to vivisect him each and every month, then so be it. if he has to electrocute him, tear his teeth out, take out part of his brain, he will do it. he can't lose any more. was also considering captioning this with a verse from polednice (noonday witch) by karel jaromír erben. the one i felt was most fitting was this one:

‘Give that child here!’ ‘Lord, forgive this sinner’s sins, my Saviour dear!’ It’s a wonder she still lives, For see—the Noonday Witch is here!

and i will soooo happily explain why. "Give that child here!" - the facility taking Artyom as soon as he was born due to his mutation, pretty clear "Lord, forgive this sinner's sins, my Saviour dear!" - volkov begging them not to think of him as a mutant so much, the 'sinner' and 'sin' being 'mutant' and 'mutation'. "Lord, forgive this mutant's wrong, my Saviour dear!" its like. this line sticks out to me so much to volkov. "Lord, forgive him, he was born a sinner, he is bound to sin!" its just!!! gah!! he's still calling the facility "saviour" though - they're the only reason he's able to see his son every day, after all. 'Its a wonder she still lives,' - this is an artyom mutation moment! he's a zombie, sorta, his heartbeat sucks so fucking much. his heart is so weak. hes like a zombie in the way that he eepy. its a wonder he hasnt succombed to his mutation yet. 'For see - the noonday witch is here!' - so, the 'she' in the previous line was about the noonday witch, but i dont care lol. this could be the facility again. this i interpret either as temnova, but shes not rlly involved w artyom !! so its like. "Its a wonder (baby Artyom) still lives, for see - the (Facility) is here!" . its a wonder neither the facility or mutation have killed him yet

Anyway. Another thing is how the poem ends. Basically, if you dont want to read it, its about a mother, her baby (its like 1 year old tops) and the noonday witch. the mother is cooking lunch, the baby is wailing. she cannot get it to calm down. the lunch is burning. she pokes her head out the window - 'Come for him, you Noonday Witch, then! Come and take this pest for me!’ - and she comes. when the mother sees her, she goes oh Fuck - either she didnt think she'd rlly come for a baby, or she thought the noonday witch wasnt real. either way, the noonday witch advances torwards the baby. the mother rushes to it and holds it so tight in a protective embrace. she holds it so so tight, as much as she can, desperate not to let the noonday witch take it from her. then, it turns 12:01.

Child clasped to her breast, he found, Lying in a faint, the mother; He could hardly bring her round, But the little one was – smothered.

She suffocated it with her tight embrace. With her love! isnt that so fucking cool?? so awesmoe??? 'my mothers love is suffocating me' it sure is buddy!!!! anyway this is very volkov-artyomcore.. 'oh, because volkov does horrible things to artyom like all the scientists?' i hear you ask. hehe. no! ill let you in on a secret. you see, the thing that ends up killing artyom is neither his mutation nor the facility:)

Just some more rambles.

When I make one of these posts it's always kind of difficult. I know some of the eyes on the words I write. I know other eyes could be on them if the algorithmic gods feel cheeky. I work to speak my feelings truly, but refine them, examine them, and ideally process them. What I struggle with most I think is feeling them though. It's one of those traits that have their advantages and disadvantages I guess. Feeling them is hard because it gets in the way of doing something to address the cause of them. Like, sure, I feel like crying about a bunch of stuff, and sometimes I allow myself to, but the whole time I get the sense that the energy spent crying might be better used doing something about it. This means I'm often great at getting stuff done regardless of how I'm feeling inside, which is a sometimes boon in the capitalistic sense, but not always great on the old emotional spectrum. I've been accused in the past of being aloof from time to time. It's not really something I mean to do, but I think it's gotten worse as the years have worn me down. The tiredness which pervades my being seeps through into my current endeavors. A pragmatic temptation towards indifference to the struggles of others due to my own. The resignation there is a great deal of pain in this world and fair or unfair, we all bear some measure of it. I try to put a good foot forward, but people can feel it when you don't have the enthusiasm they want from you. You know? Inside I know every person deserves effort and care which is individual to whatever bond you have created, and yet the scar tissue inside limits my emotional range of motion, and my insecurities and pains shows through. There is a sense of "What is the point of trying in a world where it all falls apart eventually?" A nasty habit of looking out for the other foot to fall whenever something nice happens. The temptation to not engage because maybe the winning move is to not play. And yet, usually even feeling all that, I try and grit my teeth, and I choose to care anyway, to try and at least go through the motions of caring even if I can't manage the full emotional resonance of it right now. Not for profit, not for some "point", or even because I think it'll make things work out for me and mine. But because it's what I want to be at the end of the day, and very few of the best parts of who I am came easily, so why would life make caring even through pain easy when it is so clearly needed in this world? At the same time, letting go, moving forward, and making sure I'm caring about the right things, the right people, is important if I'm going to improve stuff. But my thoughts have a nasty habit of pulling to the past, regrets, things I wish I could fix (partly because things keep happening to me that I can't fix, but I digress). All that existing in a socioeconomic system which has everyone scrabbling for scraps and generally many of them not living their most abundant periods of their lives, and you find the horrible recipe for these annoyingly recurrent blog posts. I wanna help the world, but that starts with helping myself and my family. Hard to when things are so scarce, and I know deep down I'm one of the *Lucky ones* I've got a roof over my head, got a computer, got *less* debt than a lot of people. It feels almost entitled to complain at all in a world where people suffer much more than I have even at my worst day, and don't even have a place to write down their feelings. Well, deserved complaints or no, I keep them neatly to this little corner of the internet now don't I? Perhaps that's enough. I suppose it's all just perspectives, isn't it? I hope things are getting better for you, Who/what/when/where-ever you are. ZT

I think I'm actually going insane-

There's an episode of the 2003 Astro Boy anime that I swear to GODS I remember watching in English as a kid- I remember seeing it back when the entire show was on Hulu. And like- I know the episode exists in the original dub, I'm watching right now- But I remember for a damn fact I'd seen it in English when I was little, but there's a different episode that's replaced it in the English dub because the original is inspired by the story of Peter Pan and Disney Didn't Like That- so to not be copy written they completely changed shit.

Idk it doesn't matter too much in the long run I guess- I just know for a damn fact that I saw Eternal Boy originally in English, but I can't seem to find that version of the episode anywhere and it makes me tweak out a lil KDJFH

So I may have stopped spamming people with the server but The Zodiac Trial is 25% off.

If you like murder/mystery visual novels along the lines of Zero Escape or Dangan Ronpa I cannot recommend this game enough. Aside from the fact that it is very indie so there's some typos, the story is so well written, all the routes (I saw, I have not seen Sheep/Pig because of timing issues when my friends played) are a delight, and when the worst complaint I have about a character is "They don't do a lot" it speaks volumes for the quality of the game's cast.

I am going to continue to try to promote people on this game it's so good and I 20/10 recommend.

Drawing smth set during the final battle in “Plus est”, and it's making me realize... it really wasn't much of a final battle at all, actually?

Def not the sweeping, grand-scale battle I was expecting, with the cavalry arriving like some ppl (myself included) theorized it would be.

It's a bunch of Corona citizens- including an elderly candy maker, two children, and a cobbler- swatting at errant tentacles and dodging black rocks. The characters with the most training and skill don't particularly contribute either. And though their bravery is noble, the group doesn't act accomplish anything other than mildly irritating ZT, who just... cages them up and goes on her way when she tires of their antics.

Like, the stakes are low and there's not a lot of tension until Cass and Raps unite and join the fray, b /c the Corona characters never had a chance in that fight.

I wonder if part of this is b/c ZT doesn't really have a proper army, or any other forces? They’re just fighting her. And I think a fight between a bunch of humans and a giant monster can work, but the... sense of scale, the drama, and the choreography has to be there. Like, the final fight with the Red Death vs. the Vikings in HTTYD comes to mind as exemplary.

Not sure how I'd fix this... possibly by not having the detour to Cass' tower, not wrapping up the mindtrap by the midpoint, and keeping the action in Corona? That way the Brotherhood could be in the fight (like soldiers, as intended), the Corona citizens could accomplish something by subduing them (kind of a reversal of OaH), and Eugene could still get through to his dad to destroy the talisman. Varian could have more to do, same for Lance, and Adira would be involved earlier on instead of being stashed away at the tower. 

Alternatively, bringing the disciples back, or bringing some monsters or creatures from the lost dimension into play would be cool, and make it so that the portal wasn’t so inconsequential. 

Or, everything could just play out as normal tbh, but the chars could fight better and more strategically, and their efforts could serve a real purpose like buying time, or distracting/weakening ZT until Raps and Cass can come in for the big sundrop/moonstone play.

It’s not a HUGE thing, I’m mostly just thinking and speculating here b/c the final confrontation wasn't quite as dramatic as what I was expecting/hoping for- but I think it could’ve been. The set up was there!
