waugh!!! theyre finally done! ive been working on this set of hk themed major arcana cards for about 4 months now so im really glad to see them finished

ive got some ramblings about their creation under the cut

-these all actually vector art i made in illustrator whitch is why they look so different from my normal art style

-the embellishments on the bottom of the cards are based on the inventory menu and the ones at the top come from the pause menu

-the lovers was originally going to be nailsmith and sheo but i changed them last minute since i couldn't think of a design that fit them and rider-waite tarot deck

-also judgement was originally gonna be traitor lord, since otherwise he'd've been like the only major boss who wouldnt have been represented. i also had the idea of making it unn since she's the only higher being not here. eventually i settled with making it all the warrior dreams since the rider-waite art depicts many people being risen from their graves, like the dream warriors being risen to be judged by the dream nail

-some of the character choices were based on the cards actual symbolism and others were made based on how well that character fit the rider-waite art.

-for example the wheel of fortune is collector since that card features a lot of figures in it

-the heirophant being bv is becuase i had already decided on making the high priestess hornet and the high priestess and heirophant are considered counterparts. hornet and bv can also kinda be seen as counter parts especially since in earlier builds of the game bv wouldve been fought in hornet 1's place.

-the 2 obbles on the chariot are kinda supposed to represent the obblobbles

Part 2 of my Hollow Knight gijinka thing!!

Had a lot of fun with these ones. An idea I had for the more “animalistic” enemies in HK was to have them be conglomerations of discarded masks and corpses, the designs of which I took a lot of inspiration from the demons in Ultrakill.

I also had both the Grimm Troupe masks, and void related entities have a more ‘skeleton’ theming, it really makes the Troupe feel like more of a cult.
