i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.

there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.

humans are not the default race

In every scifi and fantasy setting with """races""", humans are the default.

If you're lucky, we're the short-lived, fast-reproducing pests that are all white Europeans for some mysterious reason, and also have disproportionate rates of being raised as undead because we can't be bothered to make zombie dwarf minis or animate a vampire gnome that has to jump up to bite a tall person's neck.

(We've got BOTH human AND elf skeleton warriors! Oh, hey, I just changed the scale, now it's a hobbit skeleton OR a giant skeleton! Such skeleton diversity! No, Khajiits can't be bone boys, a skeleton with a tail and a cat skull is just TOO SPOOKY)

I feel like a lot of people don't realize that we (Homo sapiens) have the longest running endurance of any land animal. Being able to run a marathon is not normal.

(It's because we evolved the very unusual hunting strategy of Slowly Chasing Gazelles While Throwing Sticks At Them Until The Gazelle Collapses From Exhaustion Then Casually Walking Up And Bashing Their Head In With A Rock™).

Even Neanderthals probably couldn't match our tenacity (they were considerably stronger and tougher though, but by no means dumber judging from the size of their brain cavities{which was bigger than ours actually})

(the evolutionary Neanderthal hunting strategy was probably something like Jumping Out And Stabbing A Wooly Rhinoceros With A Pointed Stick, Then Getting Punted 12 Feet Into a Tree But Getting Right Back Up And Doing It Again Until It Dies Because You Have Superhuman Bone And Muscle Density. And If You Do Break One Of Your Unbreakable Bones Your Homies Will Take Care Of You Until It Heals™

[Neanderthal skeletons are found with healed fractures surprisingly often despite said bones being much stronger and denser than ours, they just kept evolving denser bones until they couldn't even swim without sinking like a rock, but they still got broken all the time])

So given that we, Homo sapiens, actually literally used to be the "species that specializes in sheer endurance, determination, and unbreakable fucking will", I want more fantasy and scifi settings where we are that way! I think the only setting where that's even remotely the case is Undertale. We're not just the "default" intelligent species!

The only reason we're good at everything is because we can make complex tools and can learn and aren't bound by instinct. Which, by definition, all fantasy races would also be able to do. Otherwise, they'd just be considered animals. Like trolls or Redditers.

The "default" species should just be really good at making tools and quickly adapting, but kinda suck in every other category. So I guess gnomes or goblins are the default d&d race.

And Humans are certainly not the Tolkien "that one race that lives short lives and reproduces faster than everyone else and is good at farming" because:

A) we actually do already live relatively long lives for mammals of our size and also GIVING BIRTH CAN KILL US, AND IF OUR PARENTS DON'T RAISE US JUST RIGHT THAT CAN ALSO KILL US, WE ARE SPECIFICALLY VERY BAD AT REPRODUCING

B) we are in no way adapted to farming, and most of our modern health and societal issues stem from the fact that we aren't meant to farm or be civilized, but do it anyways.

We only farm because it helped us survive the ecological collapse at the end of the ice age, now we're in too deep to go back.

When the ice age ended (quite abruptly) the ecosystem couldn't provide for hunters and gathers anymore, a bunch of things were getting heat stroke, sea levels rose, hibernation and bloom cycles and reptile gender ratios were out of wack, predators died out because herbivores died out because plants weren't doing well. Decomposers like vultures and worms had a field day (Until they didn't [RIP condor population]). It would take a while for a new ecological equilibrium to emerge and for evolution to fix things.

But farming doesn't need any healthy ecosystems except for the soil and pollinators, mostly, so that still works. And farming makes more food meaning you can have more people. So now there's more people.

But that also means you can't ever go back to foraging without all those extra people dying of starvation. So, anarcho-primitivism would technically be the most deadly ideology if implemented, and therefore is not based, unfortunately. Here's hoping for an apocalypse to do that for us! (I would not survive it)

Fun Fact: those isolated tribal societies like the Sentinelese that still do hunting and gathering only spend 15-20 hours a week doing that and another 20 doing camp chores, and the rest of their time forming meaningful relationships and not being depressed.

Notice how most of what they do as "work" (hunting, fighting, hiking, berry/mushroom/etc picking, cooking, camping, arts and crafts, oral history/story telling) are things that we need to do during our limited free time as "hobbies" just so that our "work" doesn't drive us insane. Thus leaving less time for relationships, etc.

If we were actually good at farming or industry or civilization, then things like math and repetitive manual labor wouldn't be work. They'd be the most fun activities.

Sure, these foragers die young, but so did medieval peasant farmers who were even less healthy since they had much less diverse diets (a lot of carbs) and got plague more often thanks to cities and their close proximity to livestock. Our modern sedentary lifestyle is bad too.

Hobbits are suited to farming (also Entwives I guess). Hobbits are quite good at it, at the cost of not being as good at much else (besides going unnoticed and throwing for some reason), they inherently enjoy farming life quite a bit and most* aren't haunted by the sense they should be anything else, like we are. *(The Took family got that Call To Adventure 'tism)

We only think that we're not special or can't be anything other than what we currently are because we no longer have anything else to compare ourselves to. The Neanderthals and Denisovans died out tens of thousands of years ago and the fucking aliens are somewhere, presumably

We are special, only we survived.

But at the cost of becoming the species equivalent of an abandoned child raised by wolves. We fantasize about these things because we all know that we shouldn't be alone. But our perceptions of ourselves are twisted by our trauma and lack of socialization.

Personally, the realization that having lost our family was probably our fault makes that hurt so much worse.

Doctor Who: Matrix Pastiches Reviewed

Because it turns out DW has a lot of them! The three categories I'm considering will be: 1) Visual engagement with The Matrix, 2) Thematic engagement with The Matrix, and 3) Quality of the overall episode vs quality of its Matrix pastiche

Contestant #1: The Long Game/Bad Wolf

(I'll be bundling our two Station Five episodes together, even if they aren't technically arranged as a "two-parter")

Visual engagement with The Matrix

Right off the bat, we get probably the best-looking Matrix imagery that was possible on a BBC budget circa 2005. A lot of other media going for a "Matrix aesthetic" stops at either the cyberspace visual language, bullet time, or the costuming, so I think it's actually pretty fun and novel that the Station 5 eps go for the pod people instead. Through the labor-zombies (still puppeteered by their jacks in death), and the Controller (conscious, aware, had a brief normal childhood before being sold into instrumentality), we push the horror in some fun new directions.

Thematic engagement with The Matrix

Does manage to at least gesture toward labor exploitation and state propaganda. Draws a nice if underbaked connection between news media fearmongering and anti-migrant policies. Gets a little incoherent and borderline reactionary with its conspiratorial angle (not that that's completely absent from the matrix proper). Featuring a "philosophical debate" that dips a bit more into parody. And we do manage to presage Resurrections via Don't Be A Tech Guy Who Sucks.

Quality of the overall episode vs quality of its Matrix pastiche

The Station Five eps are both a little mid, to me. Adam just isn't compelling, even in a love-to-hate way. Weirdly victim-blaming and misanthropic about the game show contestants. Each episode's parodying of the BBC is a bit too buffoonish to work, and leans a bit too hard on The Alien Behind The Curtain to have any teeth in regards to the real BBC. But I do kind of love Scary Capitalist Snow Hell feat. Simon Pegg. And the Matrix bits, imo, are some of the most charming moments. Decent episode, good Matrix pastiche.

Contestant #2: New Earth

We get some very direct riffs on both the shot where Neo absorbs the full horror of how many pods there are, and the There Is No Spoon elevator cable sequence. It Green.

Thematic engagement with The Matrix

"Something something Catholicism" is, in fact, a core theme of The Matrix, and I'd say catgirl nuns are solidly in the spirit. "Don't be an evil vapid bimbo who surgically alters her body"? Well, no. (Granted, the most charitable read is that the ep is basically ambivalent on bodymodding - Cassandra's deal is gross, "evolution" and "mutation" are good, and turning yourself into a cat woman is neutral as long as you don't give people every disease in the world). "Don't give people every disease in the world"? Well, sure man, I guess.

We get some nods toward not buying into "human purity" (coded as class purity, and maybe vaguely racial?), and some lines about "we're part of the machine, so we know how to destroy the machine" that make sense as part of the Matrix pastiche and make much less sense in the context of the actual episode. Meanwhile, the NYPD are the heroes of the hour, here to bust all the bad guys and shepherd our shellshocked pod escapees off to some brighter future that we don't have to think too hard about the logistics of.

Quality of the overall episode vs quality of its Matrix pastiche

Gotta be honest: I did not enjoy New Earth very much. It has some fun ideas, and we get pretty visceral with the pod-based body horror again. But the sexism of how it handles Cassandra and Rose just makes the whole thing sort of unpleasant. And this also may have been one of the episodes he was looking back on re: "we didn't have 14 regenerate in 13's clothes because I didn't want it to look like we were making fun of gender nonconformity."

The Matrix pastiche itself is, like, fine? Just kind of shallow and mostly confined to iconography (while the themes of the rest of the episode sometimes tip into anti-thesis). Bad episode, decent Matrix pastiche.

Contestant #3: The End of Time

Visual engagement with The Matrix

If you're asking "wait, End of Time is a Matrix pastiche? In what way?" - it's because the whole Master storyline is riffing on the Reloaded/Revolutions version of Smith. Accordingly, the extended visual gag of the Master turning everyone in the world into himself is straight from the Smith playbook. And the effect looks bad, as a subtle homage to the fact The Matrix's agent possession effect also looks bad.

Thematic engagement with The Matrix

As a Matrix scholar with a Smith concentration: End of Time really, really gets Smith. It gets that he's an evil gay guy trying to excel to the extreme at his fascist upbringing, even though the authority figures he wants to impress will always see him as fundamentally "diseased." It gets the mommy and/or daddy issues that drive him. It gets that he's the shadow self. It gets that he's a Looney Tunes character. It gets that his public breakdown is as much self-harm as other-people-harm, and emphasizes that via the Doctor as concerned friend. They even put that guy on a dog leash (sexual style).

The "Master race" joke is kind of tasteless, but does get at something essential about Smith's machine-supremacy-as-cope and repulsion/fascination with Morpheus (and it's not like mixed-bag racial politics aren't a Matrix quality). "Is the Master in drag making fun of gender nonconformity?" well kind of, but it also slays

Quality of the overall episode vs quality of its Matrix pastiche

Maybe a controversial take, but I really liked End of Time. It's got the homoeroticism, it's got the Gallifrey Sucks reveal, it's got funny strobe light skeletor running around eating people. The Doctor's Got A Gun. Wilf's there. The "billionaire who evilly...loves his daughter? and they're the only people of color in sight besides Cannibalism Victim #2 and Barack Obama?" subplot does kind of flop. But overall, a good blend of the thematically compelling and the sillyfunny. Much like The Matrix itself in that way... Good episode, good Matrix pastiche

Contestant #4: Extremis

Little-to-none. We're doing The Matrix almost purely as premise, not aesthetic. 12 wears sunglasses, I guess? But he'd been doing that for a minute

Return of "something something Catholicism" - this time, our take is roughly "kind of sucks that the pope is homophobic. But I'd still help that guy out if he were in trouble. On account of once upon a time, the pope was a hot lady and we had sex."

Killing Yourself, is, in fact, a theme of the Matrix movies. I do have to give them that.

Quality of the overall episode vs quality of its Matrix pastiche

The thing about Extremis is that for the most part, it's perfectly watchable and entertaining, even at its most baffling. Still has fun dialog and solid characterization. Still has Mackie and Capaldi doing their best with the material. It just climaxes with such a stupid twist that it kind of kills the whole thing. And that twist is the very fact that it's doing Matrix pastiche at all. Decent episode, bad Matrix pastiche.

Growing into the Job, Post 397: Cat n Mouse, p8 (Interlude: Monkey Business)

Randi Mongillo had let herself into the side door of the building which housed what was, still, for now,  Far Horizons Medical Associates. The building was dark but it was not empty; below ground, men stirred. The lights flickered on as she strode the hallways of the old practice and made her way through it, to the main elevator in the new atrium. Once inside she punched in the code into the newly installed keypad before hitting the button for Sub-Basement 3  where all their little monkeys lived.

Randi did not want to be here, and anyone could read that off her face. In general she wasn't a big fan of being told what to do, and hated the idea of being anyone's lackey. If anyone else had asked her to leave home, drive to work at night just so they could have their own personal cleanup service she would have told them to shove it. Missy though…Missy was different. She’s dumb as a brick, don't get me wrong, Randi would tell you, but she’s also…kinda the heart of everything. Randi owed her a lot - for this job, for a lot of her own personal ‘improvements’, for her position in what looked to be shaping up into a new society  - which made it pretty hard to say no to her, even when she really wanted to. Like tonight.

I could really go for another bliss right now. Missy blowing that little fucker could really take the edge off, Randi thought just as the elevator reached its destination and the doors began to open. She’d grown used to her evenings being peppered with bliss. It would come on in waves, crashing into her and making her more, more, more every night. The echoes of that twerp making their world just a little bit better would ripple through her body as she felt him give in to his urges, give in to Melissa. It was honestly the best, and - if she had to admit it - kind of addictive.

Randi walked out into Sub-Basement 3 and through a few metal detectors before holding up her Evolution Pharmaceuticals supplied keycard and entering the door into the administrative area of ‘the Barracks.’ Randi looked out from behind bulletproof reinforced glass on to the ‘residents’ of this little ‘community’ of males (at least that was what they were calling it officially. To Randi and most of the girls, Sub-Basement 3 was “The Fap Dungeon”).

The large communal room in front of her was filled with them, men of various ages, some in their old clothes, some in the brown coveralls that had been purchased for them as a kind of simple uniform for manual laborers. They were  largely the construction workers who had been working on the expansion, with a handful of homeless and the odd pathetic loner thrown in. They were all aimlessly milling about, huddling in small groups, or watching the tv's on the walls. The teaser interview for Channel 5 had obviously been put on loop, and it was playing over and over and over again. Many couldn't keep their eyes off it. The pathetic, braindead little zombies, Randi sniggered. If she were to listen closely she might be able to hear some of them quietly moaning or whining. Some others were repeating little mantras as they watched, over and over…

Randi walked up to the microphone at the front of the security booth. Looking out into the crowd of them, she noticed that many had shaved their heads. She also knew the place was empty of any female staff. There was security that was going to be assigned here, part of the group of girls that was supposed to start next week. In the meantime, Randi figured it might be smart not to cause a riot.

But, fuck it right? I mean…where's the fun in that? If I have to be here dealing with these apes I might as well have a bit of fun with it. Give them something to really live for.

Randi hit the button to activate the intercom with an unnaturally wide and unnerving smile spread across her face.

“Hey shit stains!” Randi yelled into the intercom causing an awful howling sound as the intercom crackled to life with the power of her voice. “Yeah, I'm talking to you douchebags. I need some of you to come with me and clean up a mess outside. Any volunteers?”

Her eyes shone in amusement as she watched the group en masse, all these ‘big strong men’ shrink away from her and avert their gazes. These simps, breathing in all these artificial pheromones of Melissa’s pumped directly onto the floor were just too predictable, so easy to manipulate.

“Aww, are you guys too tired? Is going outside just too difficult? Too scary?” she asked snidely. She had used up the last drop of her patience much earlier today. Otherwise she might have at least a dollop of pity for these saps. “That’s fine. I guess I can find someone else to clean Melissa’s house.”

That got their attention.

Randi watched as all their eyes shot up. Melissa, these days, was the person they thought about the most. In fact, Randi knew she was almost all they thought about. Any man here would give his left nut just for the chance to get closer to Melissa, to be helpful to her, to be noticed. The other nut they’d save for a touch, or just a smile, but they’d give themselves willingly for this woman that was beginning to become something more than human in their eyes.

They, in fact, would do anything.

“I thought one of you would give a shit about her. Oh well, guess I'll be going now-”

“Wait!” The panicked voices of one of the men cried out as he ran forward, towards Randi’s glass enclosure. He was raising his hand. “I’ll go!”

“M-me too!”

“Me too!”

“What are you talking about?” one of them argued with the other, “Everyone knows you can't do shit! I should go.”

“Fuck you! I should go!”

Randi watched as the room erupted in an all-out brawl, each fighting for the opportunity to clean up Melissa’s little fuck session at her mom’s house while she put her boyfriend to bed. It was honestly hilarious. 

Blood was spilled and teeth were lost as they fought amongst themselves for a few minutes. Soon enough, though, Randi became bored. Watching them kick the shit out of each other was fun and all, but honestly, she just wanted to get the fuck out of here and maybe get the chance to go home and sleep.

Randi opened the reinforced door that separated the security chamber from the common area and walked into the room. She grabbed three of the men from the grand melee and pulled them out into the hallway before anyone else could notice. Then she went back in and picked off several more until she was satisfied.

“Alright you clods are it, ‘the chosen ones’,” she said, sarcasm probably lost on the doltish males in their excitement, “You,  beardy - you can drive? You’ll take one of the construction vans. They’ve got tools, right? I’ll drive in my car, you follow me. We’ll get in there, you’ll clean stuff up, and you’ll fix whatever you can.”

“Ummm…” one of them began, looking suddenly embarrassed to speak, “we’re driving by ourselves?”

Oh yeah, oh crap. Pheromones. They know they’ll need me with them. “Fine. I’ll drive the fucking van.” Means I’ll need to leave my car here. 

The men nodded appreciatively, as if excited for the opportunity.

“And, when we’re there, don't you dare make a fucking sound you hear me? She’ll be upstairs resting.  If any of you does anything to draw attention to yourselves, or disturb her,  I’ll bite your fucking head off, kick you out onto the streets myself. Got it?”

“Y-yes Ms. Mongillo,”  one of them spoke up while the others silently nodded. “t-thank you for recognizing us, and giving us the chance to-”

“Pfft-  You aren’t special, you're just the closest ones I could grab. Plus, you’re men. You’re all basically the same anyway, weak, shit for brains. Now shut up and let’s get going so maybe at some point I can go to bed.”

this is a post to go into more of a deep dive of this au for people that don’t know much about it, and give some fun facts about both deadbeat and nt3K along the way!!!, which will be divided into parts, this being deadbeats part

(deadbeats backstory/abilities)

the ggs were gonna fight gouji, atleast they were. But since a “devil cd” sounded ridiculous to everyone, they decided not to go. But that means that gouji actually summoned this supposed demon, he had one wish to ask of the demon, and while he was thinking of it, the demon, being a little shit. granted a random one he thought of because he was getting impatient, that wish being: infusing every multiverse and universe that’s possible into one version of Tokyo-to, that being this one. In order for that to be possible though, he expanded the earth 10 sizes and made Tokyo-to the only place you can visit on said earth. Afterwards he left, and gouji got super pissed…

then couple decades, whatever later. boom. one day deadbeat was born, she was born into a family of dysfunctional zombies, and yes. They were very much abusive… though for them. it’s normal, her species of zombies don’t feel emotion or sympathy at all, considering their dead, and the brain ain’t firing off anymore, when she was born, they noticed that she had dna of multiple animals and beings in her, which is cat, alien, red panda, if you can think it, she probably had it, during her younger years. she was taught to do a lot of stuff by herself, the most important thing that shapes her now is her abilities with rubber, her species was created due to a zombie apocalypse a long time ago in old tokyo-to, that eventually was controlled, but the zombies got kept for research and testing, after one test went right, the zombies acted like normal humans without functional emotions, which the scientists declared “good enough” and let them roam the streets, one day, a zombie was exploring an abandoned factory, and slipped on the railing while overlooking the melted rubber vat, and got dipped inside for a while, after being let out and back into society, he made a family that eventually spread the rubber infusion across tons of different zombies

ZOMBIE EVOLUTION!!! but, on the topic of deadbeat, she taught herself how to control being able to stretch her limbs and any part of her body to a limitless amount, after a good while of growing up, she was 12. and around here is when she realized she could shapeshift, which for this species, it’s considered. “Unnatural”. So she kept it a secret, while growing up she was a huge fan of the multiple different aus and variations of the GGs, beat in specific, so she wanted to collect different beat clothing, glasses, headphones, etc! How though? … Slaughter of course! After a while of killing countless beats, which took years, she finally got everything she needed after all those years (she’s about 16) alllll but one part, rollerblades, one day she went exploring and stumbled across a factory with a beat graffitiing inside, and of course, she attempted to kill him and steal his skates. it was a struggle but eventually… she got thrown in a pit of acid

(pause! + a fun fact, deadbeat cannot be hurt physically in any way shape or form, and shecan’t feel pain through those means aswell, but she can be melted through the means of fire and acid, which is one of the only thing that hurts TONS for her, now continue …)

luckily for her, it was ankle deep, but unfortunately aswell, it ended up melting her feet off, she grappled up and knocked that beat into another vat of some unknown liquid, killing him, luckily right before he fell fully, she grabbed his blades and shuffled back. her parents weren’t happy to see her lacking feet, but since they didn’t wanna teach her the process of regrowing limbs

(FUN FACT NUMBA 2!: slicing off her limbs don’t effect her in any way shape or form, other then slight annoyance, she can regrow any limb no matter what circumstance, it takes longer when the limb gets burnt off though)

..they got surgery to rewire her dead veins into the rollerblades themself, making the rollerblades her actual feet!, (forgot to specify at the start, but she’s also blind aswell, when she was born she didn’t have eyes, but classified black holes where they were SUPPOSED to be, basically not letting her see, and to see yknow, at all. She had surgery when she was a young child, but only if glasses are on her face, meaning she can do very cartoony expressions with any form of glasses), after that. she never wanted that shit to ever happen again /so she practiced a form of combat she saw online named “breakstyle”, and educated herself on it up until she was 17 years old, which she mastered the form of combat and was very good at doing it. one night while sleeping, she took off her beat glasses that she uses to see, and put it down on the counter, her dad got curious on how durable they were, and ended up breaking them, turning the color on it to black for the squiggly lines, and white for the main color, waking up to this, she was FUMING, which is unusual for her, considering she can’t feel emotion, but she ended up lighting a flame in her parents house, and burnt it down.

she got caught in it though, or atleast, her legs did, she grappled onto something outside and laid on the street, and while the fire was slowly travelling up her body, the grim reaper showed up to possess and talk to her in her mind, telling her that death is approaching , and she’s gonna visit the afterlife, but trying to collect her soul.. it appears that she doesn’t even have a soul! which in the grim reapers terms, means their fucked. they can’t un possess Someone until their soul is fully stolen and put into the afterlife, annoyed, the reaper stayed there, and just did nothing while deadbeat was laying there. after a bit of resting, she decided to hide in any place she could find that hid her, which she chose an abandoned GGs garage, and resided in the place until her legs reformed and the pain resided, the reaper finally said something: “hey. so, I hope you know I’m basically stuck with you until you die, which knowing your nature, im gonna be stuck with you forever, so don’t be an annoying little shit. Please”, deadbeat wanted to respond, but she couldn’t come up with anything to say back, she rested for a long while until a huge rumble happened outside, nt3K arrived Infront of the garage, and checking out his Time Machine, it appeared to be broken, which he went inside the garage near him to find any sort of parts, the only thing he found though being deadbeat

after a while of talking, he decided to stay for a while, and when deadbeat finally got the strength to get up and moving again, she redecorated the garage, made rooms for both her and nt (this garage is more of a home then a garage), and joined a variation of the GGs, the leader turning out to be her sibling, corn, for a while they got along until corn found out that deadbeat was the one who lit their house on fire, and the one who killed his parents, the entirety of the GGs got pissed at both nt and deadbeat, kicking them out of the team

for a while it was just her and her homie, nt. Since while being in the gang, she got along with nt well, and became his homie. time passed, deadbeat turnt 22, and one day while chilling in her bedroom, she got a call from one her niece, scenekidmew, she called her, asking if she could come over, she said yes and when she arrived, there were visible tears in her eyes, deadbeat didn’t really know what to do, so she offered her inside, and after a little tweaking, made the vacant room in the garage hers for when she’s over, deadbeat asked her what was wrong, and while she was venting about what went wrong, she asked if she wanted some weed, which she couldn’t deny, so she smoked some, and immediately chilled out

after a while she really had a bond with her aunt, deadbeat, going over to her house a lot, frustrating corn but, since he doesn’t wanna be a bad father, he lets her over.

ever since, deadbeat has been stuck at that age, and they’ve been doing nothing but dumb shit! deadbeat also got hired to become a stripper for money, which explains why I made her wear a bunny suit, and be filthy rich at the same time

backstory. DONE! Now for her abilities (will edit backstory if some parts are missing btw … expect that)

her main ability is being highly educated in breakstyle, which is a form of combat that involves breakdancing, she wields 2 dual pistols and a skateboard to help her out in combat with said breakstyle aswell

her limbs are infinitely stretchable and the force from wind up punches, they basically give her super strength.

her stomach is a storage unit containing infinite storage, weird. I know; but she uses it to grab gadgets that nt made, or whatever else

her glasses are her eyes and her blades are her feet! Remember that! And since she’s a shapeshifter, any changes I make to her design canonically, is because she shaped herself to look different

the grim reaper can fully possess her body to activate reaperbeat, which is what she uses when she’s almost dead, another form she can use is “The one true fire god.” Which she activates when reaper beat is present, and she’s feeling a tiny bit of an emotion while being taken over (which I also know I said she can’t feel emotion, but it’s rare for her and only her to actually feel it, every other zombie just lacks it), she can take control of another half of her body and activate the one true fire god beat, her weapons are gone but she can now shoot a flame shotgun out of her hands, and fly around using flames, basically. Deadbeat but more op then she already is, and immune to both fire and acid!!!

Another big post of Pokemon stuff I did last year

These two are sort of ultra beast regional variants. The lore I created was that they got stuck into a horror void dimension and overtime adapted to the unique environment. Their names are Gorgullet and Dr. Hyme.

These two, Saulver and Lycansau, are the split evolutions of Sauav from my last fakemon post. My concept was a wolf in sheep’s clothing/werewolf, and a werewolf hunter.

Here are some bug type fakemon I’ve made. I actually really like bug type Pokemon but I hate having to look at real life bugs for inspiration. The one on the left is a dragon moth mage and the one on the right is a zombie ninja wearing a straight jacket(for some reason but at least it’s cool(imo)).

Lastly, for this post, these are me and my friend’s Pokémon SV Nuzlocke SoulLink ocs. Their names are Vivi and Mary. I might have made a mistake with naming my Sprigatito after my irl cat. I’ve already begged to revive him once lmao.

Maybe FINALLY next Eeeveelution?

My dream. This 2024 is going to be horrible.

After an eternity without evolutions, WHAT IF Kalos BRINGS THEM BACK TO US. Either a dragon, or, ideally for me, a ghost. Another game bringing false hopes.

The residue of the ultimate weapon affects the evolution of a certain pokemon (our beloved Eeevee), leveling up with certain ps (more 75% for dragon type, less 25% for ghost type) + location (near Geosenge Town ie).

There is so much just for the ghost type. The sheet ghost, the mummy, the zombie, the skeleton, a remix!, some possessed object! chains! And the caith sith theme, cheshire cat, the black dog, cù-sìth, cerberus/hellhound.

Feathered dragons (queztacoal), Chinese, typical one idc!, hydra! maybe with armor!

Maybe Yvetal and Xerneas color themed in their shiny forms!

C Virus Leon S. Kennedy

Since I done a Feral Plagas Leon, why not move onto C Virus? This is gonna be much different than most portrayals of those infected in the virus or any C Virus!Leons. He's quite eldritch here and eldritchness isn't something I tend to hold back on. Let's get started.

Traces of the various viruses and parasites Leon came in contact over all his adventures lay dormant which leads to the entire C Virus becoming something else, something self aware. He cocoons after RE 6 events once any possible infection is deemed negative to everyone. Leon unconsciously goes to an abandoned mall and the process takes place.

It takes a week for him to come out as this new strain of C Virus is planning an effective evolutionary route. An 'ultimate life form' spiel with temporary mutations for emergency cocoons and planned permanent ones once it deems Leon stable enough to handle it. He comes out bearing insect traits as the base which leads to a titanic chimeric final evolution.

Feral episodes are a mix between feeding frenzy and 10 cats who just been given catnip. Any episode dealing with food stems from Leon's body preparing to cocoon for a permanent mutation. The splurge diet depends on what species is going to join this incomplete chimera and vitamin sources. Avian? Leon is hunting a mix of bird species from pigeons to harpy eagles.

Catnip cat episodes are basically the zoomies on steroids. It's best to have a remote control drone for Leon to chase as you are most likely to drop from exhaustion with any physical exercise before the man is even half way tired. Luckily his shit ton of energy tones down the closer he is to his final mutation.

Despite either kind of feral episode, he's harmless unless threatened. The worst Leon will do is maybe eat an asshole Karen's spoiled dog. If threatened, he'll respond with either lethal or nonlethal force depending on the threat in question. Zombies and other mindless infected aren't off the menu either. This strain will take any virus it can gets its hands on to the point Leon's revulsion to the thought is muted.

Very very clingy and is addicted to positive affection especially physical. Leon's true emotions are on full display during a feral episode as his C Virus strain deems his normal unhealthy behavior an issue. He needs to be mentally healthy too than just physically for any new evolutions.

Make sure you have something to do as Leon ain't letting ya out of his sight during a feral episode. Just a huge mess who purrs, chirps and chitters like a needy kitten. Leon is fully aware of his behavior so he's always embarrassed especially if he done any dumb shit such as chasing a laser pointer light.

There's a total of six stages for his 'evolution' not including the base. Only when Leon is halfway through does he gain the ability to shift into his human form. Although it lasts for four hours before the man has to change back but the time limit triples with each stage.

Leon's behavior and speech leans more on the primal side. He makes nests to sleep or rest in, fox dens for housing if there isn't a safe place to stay, even using animalistic terms. Pack for friends and family, mate for lover, whelp for children. Absolutely territorial when it comes to those he trusts or cherishes.

Leon chitters, purrs or nuzzles if he notices someone in his pack is distressed. This usually happens when words feel useless. Licking is an uncommon sign of affection from him. Leon courts like a bowerbird as his infected nature makes him a hoarder. Any interesting item often lines any nest he makes and he gifts his absolute favorites to whoever he's courting.

Molting is a rare occurrence but it does happen around late summer. Any husk left behind bears no viral traits nor DNA and serves as a very powerful fertilizer instead. It decomposes in minutes if not preserved. One molted skin can restore an entire forest to a healthy habitable state even if its heavily radiated or scorched earth.

Base C Virus Leon can produce webbing from his mouth, hands and feet. These webs can contain healing(green) or paralytic(yellow) properties based on the color. Leon is able to spit acid mainly for melting any obstacles and material for nesting purposes. He retains any abilities from previous stages but they're more refined than the original.

Once he reaches his final stage, only way to kill him is by melting him down until nothing remains. Death by old age leads to a rebirth cycle akin to the immortal jellyfish and a phoenix. Leon's old body will crumble into fertilizer like substance similar to his molted skin albeit with his new infant human form hidden inside. A reset where memories of his past life return at eight years old while the metamorphosis begins at 18.

Extreme heat that is equal or greater than lava is required to effectively melt Leon down. Acid irritates his hide, crushing just makes it harder to move while long drops are a concussion and broken bones at best. He can regenerate from a small piece around an inch in size within two days. If the fragments belongs to a vital organ then its six hours to one day depending on the part. (Heart and brain are the quickest.) Basically its best to kill him before the final stage.

Leon will have a major existential crisis about the whole thing. Although he resolves to use his new infected status to combat anymore B.O.W and biological terrorist group by himself if needed. Leon will try to keep a down low but possible slips are bound to happen. Especially when his friends discover he's alive.

Ive seen the age old question of “which fictional world would be the worst to live in” again and saw a good point made by announcerofgames on TikTok(they are also on youtube and make good warhammer stuff and good halo reviews, check’em out) that technically what is the worst is subjective.

There is the obvious answers like halo where circle-shaped planets destroy you, warhammer 40k is constant bad no matter what, and all the zombie apocalypse of left 4 dead…but he also mentioned how sitting on the crayon drawn seats would be uncomfy in blues clues and how in spongebob you watch the same lesson be learned over and over again.

Oddly enough this angle makes some worlds even more scary.

Let’s take mlp:fim/g4 mlp for a first example, where the world is filled with magical creatures and such, magical sentient beings aswell! Depending on when you are born into this world, you could be enjoying the era of starswirl and all the chaos that comes with that, you might be young enough to see the entirety of g4 happen before your eyes, all the villains, all the chaos, all the enforced order, all the changes to sentient species in your time (diplomatic wise or even physical looks wise).

Thats not even taking into account being born as anything else then a pony, you could be a changling born into the world, and depending when, you could really see the differences in the ages of time periods, kirin, the mermaid/flying ponys of those islands, the yaks, the griffins and their innate greed that they have to battle with every day, the dragons who always has a new rulelr depending on who wins the race, the smaller creatures that do their beet to fly around.

Not to mention all the pests that also have their own magical benefits and sometimes weird ways to deal with them.

For the second ,Pokemon, of course the dex entries show us the dark side and such, but every person who cant respect personal space with a cat or a chihuahua will learn very fucking quick that this world bites back ten times harder in varying ways due to typing.

Third example I will personally wanting to think about is splatoon, sure its probably the best option among these three, a post human world where while you still have to of course participate in the system, the system supports you doing what you love, which has led to the evolution of turf and such, but I have a hunch that sometimes the species of splatoon, do feel like they have some high standards to live up to, the peak of humanity, the good and bad is probably taught from whatever scraps they can find, I bet for some that would be a heavy weight to bare.
