What AOT characters order from Olive Garden
Includes any apps, drinks and desserts!
Levi -Hange gets him to try a margarita. He hates it, and somehow gets herbal tea that's not on the menu. Chicken & gnocchi soup, eats half a breadstick. Steals some of Erwins and Hanges app when offered. Gets the grilled chicken margherita with the pesto lemon garlic sauce. Asks for a side of angel hair and marinara. Isn't going to get a dessert but winds up splitting the zeppoli with Miche.
Hange - Amaretto sour and water to drink. Zuppa toscana soup and a couple breadsticks. Gets Shrimp fritto misto to start and passes the plate around. Gets the 6oz sirloin steak with the fettuccine alfredo side and lots of cheese. Brings home a piece of black tie mousse cake.
Erwin - A red wine and a water, pasta fagioli soup, one breadstick. Orders spinach-artichoke dip for whoever wants. Levi and Miche do. Gets the eggplant parmigiana, asks for meat sauce on the spaghetti, adds broccoli and mushrooms. Gets tiramisu for dessert.
Miche - A couple beers, then a coke, lots of salad and breadsticks, with a marinara dipping sauce for them. Gets a large plate of chicken and shrimp carbonara, with creamy sauce and lots of bacon. Finishes with zeppoli donuts and asks who wants some.
Eren - Coke to drink, chicken & gnocchi soup, two breadsticks, plus gets calamari and shares with Armin. Does the create your own pasta bowl with spaghetti and meat sauce, adding meatballs for topping. Gets a trio of dolcini to share with Armin and Mikasa (let's pretend those are still on the menu) gets the dark chocolate cake flavor.
Armin - Sprite to drink, salad with lots of dressing to dip the breadsticks in, and the shared calamari. Can't decide between chicken and shrimp alfredo, finally gets chicken. Gets the limoncello mousse dolcini.
Mikasa - Bellini peach raspberry iced tea, salad and a couple breadsticks. Gets fried mozzarella sticks but only eats a couple. Saves her appetite for the giant stuffed shells with extra cheese. Finishes with the strawberry and white chocolate cream cake dolcini.
Sasha - Gets a coke to drink, then you know she's ordering the never ending pasta bowl! Might ask for the spicy zuppa toscana soup to hold her over, and dip her breadsticks in. Orders rigatoni, then angel hair twice, with meat sauce, creamy mushroom, and meat sauce again. Adds meatballs, shrimp, then chicken to top. Doesn't understand why she can't order more to take home. Does take home the chocolate brownie lasagna.
Jean - Mango strawberry iced tea, minestrone soup, one breadstick, gets the toasted ravioli as an app but Sasha and Connie take most of it. Gets the classic fettucine alfredo, asks for extra cheese and adds asparagus. Gets strawberry cheesecake for dessert and won't let anyone else touch it.
Connie- Tries to get a spiked lemonade, doesn't work so gets Dr Pepper, with pasta fagioli soup. Stuffed ziti fritta as an app, has to stop Sasha from eating most of it so Jean can have some too. Gets the Tour of Italy so he can have bits of chicken parmigiana, lasagna, AND fettuccine alfredo. Gets the zeppoli donuts and chocolate sauce and shares with Historia.*
Historia - Lemonade to drink, soup, salad and breadsticks for dinner. Switches between the minestrone and chicken & gnocchi soup. Finishes off the salad with added cheese and one breadstick. Takes a couple fried mozzarella sticks from Mikasa. Wants the pumpkin cheesecake but it's not in season. Is happy when Connie offers her the donuts.*
Tell us, who are you sitting next to? AKA, whose food are you stealing?

SHINee's Back party with Unnie and Eomma! 🥳
Tumblr media
Lasagna fritta and stuffed ziti fritta from Olive Garden, buffalo boneless wings from Wings & Rings, and two different Korean-inspired Chex party mixes (top batch has gochujang, honey-garlic seasoning, and crunchy tteokbokki snacks, and the bottom has 🎶Nongshim Shin Ramyun🎶 seasoning and crushed ramyun noodles). 😁
Tumblr media
The tteokbokki took a little longer to make (it was a brand I've never tried before - the sauce was a powder base rather than a liquid packet and it didn't want to thicken), but it was still the perfect complement to the rest of the meal.
Tumblr media
First attempt at the Taemin-inspired "eggnog" (banana milk, nutmeg, sweetened condensed milk, whipping cream, and the faintest sniff of soju) is pretty spot-on! Very creamy, very cozy, very eggnog-y - and it hasn't knocked me out yet! 😆 (I've only tasted soju on one previous occasion, and I'm a very cautious non-drinker, so I literally touched the soju with my tongue and it made me almost instantly sleepy-loopy!)
Then pineapple cheese tart is from our local Asian grocery store - I bought it as a PINee treat for Unnie (but she still won't let me put the PINee hoodie on Bella! 😭).

What Does Sonic the Hedgehog Eat at Olive Garden?
Tumblr media
Despite all the setbacks it had faced, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie finally saw its very romantic Valentine’s Day weekend release.  And while the critic’s reviews have been all over the place (tldr: Jim Carrey goes full Jim Carrey, so your enjoyment of that will depend on your opinion of Jim Carrey, and also the rest of the movie is “cartoon character has to learn about the Real World™,” a la the live-actions Smurfs movies), one thing in particular sticks out like a sore thumb (Spoiler Alert: it isnt Sonic doing Fortnite dances):
Olive Garden Product Placement.
At one point, Olive Garden comes up in a conversation (somehow? I haven’t actually seen it yet, I’ve been working 10 hour shifts all weekend) and Tom (the human main character) just drops the “when you’re here, you’re family” tagline, like that’s something a normal human would do.  Then, after the climax, the US government gives Tom a $50 Olive Garden gift card for his role in saving the planet, like that’s something a normal government would do.
Why Olive Garden?  What part of Olive Garden’s brand seemed compatible with Sonic the Hedgehog?   Did Sonic Drive-ins, who, name aside, actually serve Sonic’s trademark favorite food, chili dogs, think it would be too on-the-nose?
None of that’s important.  I want to know what, in lieu of a chili dog, Sonic would order off of the Olive Garden menu.
I think we can all agree that in order to maintain his status as the fastest thing alive, Sonic must consume an improbable amount of calories.  However, the saying is “Gotta go fast,” not, “I can go fast when I want to,” so I can only imagine most meals for him are hurried affairs dedicated to ingesting the most calories per second possible.  Basically, it’s me, back in my restaurant days, hunched over a trash can horfing down family meal in between prep jobs.
So, it basically comes down to two factors: caloric density and ease of consumption (Given his aforementioned chili dog affinity, I don’t think Sonic is much of a gourmand, so I don’t think actual flavor is going to come into play much.).
Caloric density is the easy part.  Lots of stuff on Olive Garden’s menu exceeds 1,000 calories per serving.  The big winner here would be the Chicken Alfredo at a whopping 1,620. Somehow.
But, Sonic would have to waste soooooo much time twirling his fettuccini around his fork.  All long, stringy pastas are out.  And don’t get me started on anything that requires a knife.
Turns out, after cutting out every twirlable pasta and everything that would need to be cut into bite-sized pieces, well, there’s isn’t much of a menu left.  So, what are we left with? Some would say that the make-your-own pasta with the Rigatoni (440 cal) and the Asiago Garlic Alfredo (940 cal) would be the most caloric combination left available.  But, whether or not this slight edge in total calories is enough to offset the time lost in explaining your custom order to your server has been fiercely debated by Sonic historians, critics of make-your-own menu items, and speedrunners for decades.  The only other worthy adversary would be the Five Cheese Ziti al-Forno, which, despite just being ziti, cheese, and marinara, is somehow 1,220 calories.
If he’s willing to sacrifice precious seconds of his Olive Garden speedrun towards also ordering an appetizer, the Lasagna Fritta, at 1,070 calories and seemingly ready to be eaten with your hands, would make a good contender.
And idk, Sonic doesn’t seem like much of a dessert kind of guy to me.  I think he’d stick more to complex carbs than simple sugars.
...
The worst part of all of this is that you can’t say it wasn’t effective advertising.  I just spent this whole time talking about Olive Garden, and you just spent the whole time reading about Olive Garden.  Sure, I might not have painted the OG in a particularly appetizing light, but this is the first time I’ve even thought about them in years, so that’s saying something.
When I eventually go to see Sonic on the big screen, I’ll be smuggling in a chili dog.  It’s what he would have wanted.

Nasceva quarant'anni fa a Napoli Solopizza
