In the kitchen Luna walks in from her swim to see a nervous Joey looking around.

Luna: You alright?

Joey: I’ve had such a busy weekend, I’m sure I’ve forgotten something for work

Luna: I doubt it, you worry to much. Look at me, I thought I was going to drown in our pool but after some solid laps I can now confidently say I was overreacting. Besides, your coworkers will probably be to busy asking about your game to do real work

Joey: Maybe. Hey, apparently it’s exploding over simstagram

Alfred: What splode (explode)

Luna: Morning schnucki. Zio Joey was just saying people like his game

Alfred: Game? Can we play game? Please?

Joey: I suppose since you used your manners… do you want to be… a bird?

Alfred jumps up and down excitedly. Luna laughs as Joey begins lifting him up and down and spinning the toddler around. When he’s got Alfred on his back he pauses.

Joey: Remember, to fly you have to flap. Can you flap

Alfred: *flaps arms* Caw caw! Caw caw!

Luna: Very good bird Alfred

Devin: Remember caro, we try keep the water in the bath

Rilian: Mama, you play pirate today

Devin: Yes I will

Rilian: Pirate get to be in water?

Devin: Not for this film, maybe if we get another one. Would you like to be a pirate

Rilian: Not if no water. I be… mon star! (monster)

Devin: A sea monster? Very scary. Come on, bath is over, we need to do breakfast

Rilian sighs sadly and refuses to leave the bath until all the water has drained out. When he’s dry he lets Devin carry him to the kitchen and gets excited seeing Joey and Alfred playing.

Rilian: Mama I want to play with Zio Joey

Devin: Eat your breakfast, your whole breakfast, then we’ll see

Rilian: Yes Mama

Devin: Have you seen where Lu went

Joey: I think she said she was going to check if that genealogy place has the sample yet

Rilian: Mama can I has milk please

Alfred: Me to please

Devin: Sure, oh wow you two just demolished your breakfasts. You must be growing! Joey will you have some time after work free before dinner

Joey: Probably, why

Devin: No reason, now turn around and left me check the size tag on your jacket

Rilian: Mama I done! Can I play with Zio Joey now please

Devin: Zio Joey will get you out, Mama's just going to wish Mummy luck for her lecture today

Joey gets the twins out of the high chairs Joey entertains them while Devin kisses Luna then has the chance to have breakfast. While Joey spins Rilian around Alfred bobs like a bird to the music and makes quacking noises.

Devin: Rilian piccolo, let Zio Joey get to work

Rilian pulls a face as Joey lowers him carefully to the floor.

Joey: See you all later. Good luck on set sis, knock em dead

Devin: Grazie

Devin: Where are you going

Rilian: Dollhouse Mama

Devin: Be careful playing with it bambinos

Alfred: Yes Mama

Devin: And if you break it come tell me!

While the boys enjoy playing together Devin sets about her chores for the day. She tries to set up a regular maid and gardening service but apparently there’s a small waitlist. A least the daycare is helpful, assuring her they will look after her toddlers while she’s on set.

Final task before she leaves, meal prep. She enjoys making meatballs, remembering when she was young and her ma would teach her how to ball them up. And the many discussions with her pa about getting the balance of the sauce right. She can cook them almost on autopilot now, allowing her a final chance to run lines in her head.

Scene 1: In a beautiful park in the afternoon.

FIDEL (nervously): H-hi, how are you?

SERENA (smiles while keeping her eyes on Fidel): I'm happy, I have a job now. How about you, how are you these past years?

FIDEL (smiles): I'm doing well.

(Fidel doesn't take his eyes off Serena)

SERENA (laughs awkwardly): You're staring.

FIDEL (smiles awkwardly): Sorry, I was just wondering how you've been these past years when I wasn't by your side. Are you happy?

SERENA (looks into Fidel's eyes and smiles faintly): I was okay when you left me for Mae.

FIDEL (smiles but sadness is evident in his eyes): W-we're not together anymore.

SERENA (her face turns serious): Ah, so you wanted to talk because you're no longer together, is that it?

FIDEL (shakes his head): I asked you to come here to apologize to you. I'm sorry for not being content, for choosing her over you, for cheating on you.

SERENA (tears slowly start to fall): Stop apologizing. It won't change what you did to me, the pain you caused me.

(Tears start to fall from Fidel's eyes, which he has been holding back.)

SERENA (smiles): But thank you because if you hadn't done that, I wouldn't have met Zio, who is now my husband.

FIDEL (stops in surprise at what he just heard): H-husband? You're getting married to Zio?

SERENA (nods and smiles): Yes, I'm marrying him and we're happy together.

FIDEL (forces a smile as tears fall): Are you happy with him?

SERENA (nods): Very, I'm very happy with him. I love Zio so much. So, if you don't mind, could you stop calling me and move on like I did? I have no regrets about our relationship before, but I'm happy now, Fidel. I'm happy with Zio and I love my husband very much.

(Serena leaves and Fidel is left watching Serena go to Zio)

Scene 2:

NARRATOR: While the sun is very hot, at the same time the love of two lovers who are now about to get married in front of the church. Fidel looked at the two lovers happily kissing and making a promise together in front of the church and God.

Fidel: (sighed and whispered) It looks like I'm going to be single. (Laugh softly)

As he watched the two lovers, he couldn't help but feel hurt, but he forced himself to smile when he saw that Serena turned to him with a smile on her lips while hugging Zio.

(In Fidel's mind) Fidel: I'm happy that you're happy, Serena. I'm asking for forgiveness for the sins I've committed. I wish I had loved you more when you were still mine, so I wouldn't be regretting it now as I see you in someone else's arms.

Human Rights Watch says it's a genocide:

Israeli authorities have deliberately inflicted conditions of life calculated to bring about the destruction of part of the population in Gaza by intentionally depriving Palestinian civilians there of adequate access to water, most likely resulting in thousands of deaths.

In doing so, Israeli authorities are responsible for the crime against humanity of extermination and for acts of genocide. The pattern of conduct, coupled with statements suggesting that some Israeli officials wished to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, may amount to the crime of genocide.  

Governments and international organizations should take all measures to prevent genocide in Gaza, including discontinuing military assistance, reviewing bilateral agreements and diplomatic relations, and supporting the International Criminal Court and other accountability efforts.

Well, I think we're trending in that direction. The current system in which Western countries make the rules and the rest of the world is expected to follow them—that's coming to an end. BRICS is a global movement representing now 40% of the world population and 30% of global GDP.

And it seems like the West is freaking out because they want to maintain control over global trade and technology. It seems like the serious countries are being drawn closer together and throwing off this yoke of Western domination.

Last week, I read an article by Dean Henderson, and he did a good job outlining some of the agreements being made right now between Russia and North Korea, Russia and Iran, Russia and the Houthis. Apparently Russia has agreed to give the Houthis anti-ship missiles.

So you can see this new constellation of world power beginning to form. I'm not sure how long it'll take to usurp the present power structure in this world. But America has lost the moral high ground and it looks more and more ridiculous lecturing about a rules based international order. and wielding their worthless fiat currency as a form of economic warfare.

So, about Lusky...

In the latest Topolino issue there's a little exchange between Lusky and Rockerduck that I've found interesting:

John: Here's another one! John: The Old Miser's vans are infesting the city! Lusky: While our shops, on the other hand, are struggling!

John: We must counterattack! How's our Rocksells.duck coming along? Chief technician: Almost done, boss! We also have our AI! Zio Paperone e la P.A.I.: Paper Artificial Intelligence (2022)

Lusky refers to RK businesses as "our shops"... and John doesn't correct him.

Lusky's not new in taking these liberties, but Rockerduck would usually slam him back in his place, expecially in front of other people, yet he doesn't. Interesting 🤔. I mean, it's pretty obvious he says "our shops" 'cause he identify himself with the company, but its not like Rockerduck to let it slide.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it made me think.

In fact, I often wonder if Lusky has some menagerial role in the Rockerduck Industries... I'm entering fan speculations here, 'cause there's no evidence of this in the stories, only hints. First one that comes to my mind comes from "Paperino, Zio Paperone e una questione di piume" when it's Lusky who takes helm of the Rockerduck Industries while John's being held hostage by the Beagle Boys.

In the story he basically takes that role upon himself during five minutes of delusions of omnipotence (XDDD), but he wouldn't have done that if he has not the right to do it. He gives the press conference and the journalists present have no problem in inquiring him about Rockerduck's kidnapping and what the company's next moves would be: pretty weird if you consider Lusky to be just the secretary 🤨

Lusky: Alas! Poor Mr. Rockerduck! Journalist 1: You fear there're gonna be serious consequences? Lusky: I'm afraid yes! That's why I announced this press conference with such short notice! Journalist 2: You wanna launch an appeal?

Lusky: Better! I intend to announce that as Mr. Rockerduck's closest collaborator I'm gonna take his place as the leader of his empire, starting from today! Paperino, Zio Paperone e una questione di piume (2010)

While Quackmore's role as Scrooge's butler is well established, Lusky's role is a bit cloudy. He is officially Rockerduck's secretary, but he takes up so many positions and tasks that makes it difficult to call him a simple secretary. He actually has a say in the Rockerduck Industries' management being John's closest collaborator and friend and the only one he listens to... and he's universally considered Rockerduck's projection: if John's not available you talk to Lusky.

I don't know... it makes me think Lusky might actually be Rockerduck Industries' COO or executive vicepresident, whatever it's called in the US.

Hey ✨queen✨ I was wondering if it’s alright if I ask what would happen to La Squadra if the child member’s future self got sent to the past and their child self got sent to the future. Their future self who’s a teen is wearing grunge clothing and is kinda going through the ‘screw off im a teen who wants privacy to do my own things’ type attitude.

note: i changed the idea anon, so sorry to do it. It felt like a more suitable course for Pomo’s story to adjust it, I do still hope you’ll enjoy it without the time travel!

Absolutely adore the idea of Pomo-rino being a grungy/goth teen!! They’d 100% have a septum piercing and denounce capitalism (as they should) and just be all broody. I do think that the relationships they’ve built with La Squadra have become so strong and close that even though they enjoy their privacy, Pomo would still know they could count on all of the guys 😊 enjoy!! 💖✨

As extravagant as the rest of La Squadra is, Pomo’s approach to life and fashion changed after turning 16. Before, they loved indulging in more experimental outfits, stranger styles and colours that seemed to make them fit among the rest of the lavish men. But now, after discovering the amazingness that is thrift-shopping and the angsty, introspective style of grunge and goth -that by the time Pomo reached age 17 had already come and gone out of style- there was no turning back.

Along with the style came the attitude: communication went a bit rougher and replies seemed shorter. Going out without letting anyone know when they’d be back or even with who they’d be going with. After some stern talks with a couple of eye rolls Pomo promised to text them whenever they went out.

Pomo had already finished their high-school diploma with little help and extremely high marks at age 14 so there was no need to even think about the highs and lows that came along with it anymore. That certain melancholy and emotional openness of the grunge and goth (music) genres brought Pomo some comfort; it felt a bit lonely, a former child assassin- now teen assassin- doesn’t make new friends that easily. Especially since that silent streak never quite left Pomo, preferring a quieter demeanour. They had become a little more vocal over time, offering the occasional opinion on serious work related matters.

God they were so well spoken too. A voice so soft- almost trained, letting out brilliant things like a calm stream manoeuvring a rocky valley, knowing just where to go and what places to avoid.

Being quiet had many upsides, most of them learned from Risotto who loved to spend time with Pomo, just observing the calamity that was their squad. That way no social queue was left unnoticed, navigating every situation with grace, often times coming to aid others in their reserved manner. Pomo will often bring warm drinks or snacks to their tired teammates who thoroughly appreciate the small gestures. Do not be fooled though, that dry wit also carried through with age. The comments often so unexpected which made them all the more hilarious, the squad is sure not to linger on sipping their drinks around Pomo. (lotsa spit takes lol)

Prosciutto and Ghiaccio have the most issues with Pomo’s new style and attitude. (they seemed more a bit more broody and open to talking back every once in a while) Zio Ghiaccio and papa Prosci especially hated the thrifting part! “Why would you buy worn clothes AND rip them even further? Pomo what’s the point?” Prosciutto just does not get it. Why pay any money for those strange clothes that smelled like mothballs?! “It’s not like like you don’t make enough money to buy clothes that aren’t ripped.” Ghiaccio prefers not to think about it too much, knowing just how much it riles him up. At some point he just has to let these damn teens be, no matter how much they annoy him with their “emo attitude”. These two will try anything, even gifting Pomo clothes they think would fit way better. Only for them to end up in a thrift-shop, Pomo likes being able to donate to the cycle of clothes, much to the two’s chagrin.

Formaggio and Risotto are WAY too lenient in letting Pomo do whatever they please. Attitude or not, they think it’s kind of funny to see them grow into such an open minded young adult with a headstrong attitude. Both are fans of experimenting with style and overall expression to find one that works in the end. The men both know Pomo well enough, they’ve already proved to be wise and capable of making well thought through decisions so they trust Pomo with this just as much. Although Risotto is not a fan of their choice in tight crop-tops. HAH! The irony! After some grumbling and Pomo assuring them that their jacket covers it up anyway, Risotto doesn’t have much ground to stand on (not that he ever had, the man’s tits are out at work). Formaggio truly couldn’t care less, showing a little skin never hurt him so why refuse them the expression? They look cool in those dark threads!

Who do you think drives Pomo to the thrift-shop? MELONE: eager father figure and fashion enabler! (with a cool motorcycle!!) He loves sticking it to the man just as much as Pomo right now. He’s really into the whole fashion aspect, picking out piles upon piles of possible pieces to try out. The thrift shop workers are less than pleased with the mess they leave but Pomo is sure to leave a sizeable donation after checking out! Melone is one of the few to voice their concern for Pomo’s change in behaviour. He just wants them to be alright and feel somewhat ok with their strange life, keeping in mind to frequently ask if they still want this lifestyle. Melone wouldn’t restrict them from doing more rebellious stuff, he’d just prefer to know what was going on so he doesn’t need to overthink or worry every time Pomo’s out.

Illuso LOVES encouraging ‘bad’ behaviour! Want to stay out past bedtime? Sure why not, come back by sun-up and just act like you woke up early to watch the sun rise. Snap back at Prosciutto or Risotto? Go for it, see what happens! Over the years he’s grown more fond of the kid but never really took up a big role in offering them any parental care. He cares of course, but just from a distance. Maybe he’s a bit intimidated by their smarts and those eyes that never really changed, still so intruding when they meet his, seeming to search his very soul. For once Illuso’s pride knows better than to get in Pomo’s way.

Pesci is so easy to convince to join the movement! He’s warmed up a lot more to Pomo, gone from thinking they’re some weird scary kid to an admirable and still somewhat scary teen. When Pomo starts becoming more goth/grungy he’ll be impressed with their style change, wondering if he should get a cool leather jacket too. Pomo still likes to prank him from time to time. Telling all sort of wild theories to impress Pesci and let him babble on about them to Prosciutto and the rest of the gang who already caught onto the whole charade. Strangely Pesci looks up to Pomo, admiring them for trying out new things and not being afraid to ruffle a few feathers in their team.
