Ziggy Yarn - Tiny Town Challenge

As soon as I saw Deligracy's new YouTube video, I knew I had to give it a go!

The first character I rolled was Ziggy Yarn! His skill is knitting and cross stitching, his favourite colour is yellow and his build style is mid century.

After a whooooollleee weekend of playing, here is his (admittedly, not very tiny) house. I don't consider myself a builder by any means, so I was pretty happy with how it ended up!

He was a really tough character to roll first. It takes a long time to make the items and most of the knitted items, which are cheap to produce, can only be sold via Plopsy. For most of the challenge, I was facing a continual battle against the bills and it was really hard to actually build anything.

Been playing Tiny Town Challenge lately, and I love it! I rolled Ziggy Yarn first and it has been a struggle to make money lol knitting and crocheting take FOREVER but we are making progress in his home then will start on the community center :)

He also only seems to attract MARRIED women so hes had a relationship with Moria Fryes, Judith Ward (I was shocked!) but Tina Tinker really caught his attention. P.S. She loves cats just as much as him so I made one of the lot traits cat hangout and we have so many in the house now lol

The couple who knit/crochet together stay together :)

You’ve never been kissed like this in your life. Every cell in your body is on fire. Simmering low and bubbling hot for him. Robbed of never having experienced something as sweet and tender as this in twenty-one years, you are overwhelmed with emotions at how right, how good, and how fucking fantastic Eddie was making you feel.

Opening your mouth slightly welcoming his tongue, you lick the underside of his top lip, the molten muscle sending chills down Eddie’s spine as you lightly massaged his lip. A moan shakes beautifully from his throat and he follows your lead. Coaxing his tongue gently against yours, a twirling tango of wet heat and fervor have you clutching his neck tighter. He licks into your mouth and you gasp, aware that although you’ve been kissed before it was never like this, lacking the passion that you are feeling while being kissed by Eddie.

No words are spoken and they don’t need to be. The high you’re on is pure euphoria, purple clouds and shimmery stars guide you as you pour your lust into Eddie’s hands and kiss him sugary sweet, your tongues interwoven like threads of yarn in a homemade set of mittens.

Monty, our beloved chicken nugget wizard. I fell in love with this kid pretty much from the moment I heard him (him being Naomi’s creation helped with that) and he’s just…adorable. And after Episode 4 of Loose Change (the fourth mystery), Great Googly Mooglies, that boy needs all the hugs. I hauled ass to get him finished in time for Episode 5 (I am writing this paragraph prior to actually finishing him, so we’ll see if I manage since it’s, uh, Sunday night). [Crafter’s note: I did not. I finished him two weeks later, in time for Episode 7.] He differs from the base pattern as follows:

Shoes: I actually used a different color for his soles this time! Like with Joseph’s, I did the soles in white, then switched to red for the body of the shoes. However, I did use white for the decreases at the toes in the first round of decreasing the shoes to give that white toe cap that’s so distinctive on Converse and Converse knockoffs (per Naomi, everything Monty owns is a knockoff). I also added an extra round of decreases to make longer flat tops to the shoes and skinnier ankles. The shoes went up to R9 like that, and then: R10: Ch 1, sc in front loops of first 5 sc, sl st in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, sl st in first sc (12 sc).

Tracksuit: I asked on the Light & Tragic Discord, and Naomi was kind enough to inform me that Monty wears high-tops and tucks the hem of his tracksuit into them. I also wanted the pants to have a kind of baggy effect. So once I joined the tracksuit yarn, I chained 2, then did 2dc in the back loop of the first sc in R9, then dc in the back loop of the next 10 sc in R9, then 2dc in the back loop of the final sc in R9, sl st in first dc (15dc). I then continued as normal. I used the same method for his shirt as I did for Joseph and Gerry, just a bit higher up when I started the hemline. I also formed his torso the same way as I did Gerry’s—square most of the way up and then starting the decreases at the very end. Neither of these decisions were intentional, I just wasn’t paying attention to how many rounds I’d done. For the zipper, I tied three knots on top of one another to make a zipper pull, then embroidered in straight lines up and down either side of the zipper track before doing a cross stitch up the middle.

Head: Naomi said in S4E5 that Monty “had one of those big birthmarks” and I knew I had to include it. I didn’t really plan the defined edges of the birthmark, just changed color back and forth as seemed appropriate. Came out a bit Ziggy Stardust, but you know, it’s Monty. I also used safety eyes for him again. Think I put them in too far up too soon, because stitching around them was a pain in the ass, but it worked out.

Hair: I, uh. Forgot to start adding his hair in as low as I usually do, so his hairline is a bit higher in the back than normal, which is one of the reasons there are no pictures from behind, the other being that for some reason the seam got really jagged up the back (I’m guessing I wasn’t counting carefully enough and my joins got off). I’d meant for him to have a textured stitch to his hair, but I got to that point while I was away from home and didn’t have my book with all the stitches in it with me, so I improvised. I gave him a fun little swoosh of hair at the front. Turns out I was overcomplicating things with Hux’s and Mini’s hair. There’s a legitimate stitch called the hair stitch or fur stitch that does exactly what I was trying for on them with significantly less stress, so I used that here for Monty. Gives him kind of a cheeky look and I love it.

Arms: I used the same method I used for Joseph. I only stuffed up to R20 so he would have a little more flexibility in the shoulders.

I love Tiny Town by Deligracy and I've been failing the generations challenge. So I thought maybe I'd combine them!

With quantum leap ending soon I'm very hyperfixiated on Ian especially with all the good outfits they've been wearing So may I ask for Ian Wright x male reader I feel like Ian definitely needs someone especially after a certain episode 13 I don't want to spoil for anyone but you know what I mean chaos give me Reader comforting Ian back at their home

The outfits are killer! The dress in the last episode nearly unalived me.

This one was so cute! I was absolutely feeling this after the finale! I hope its what you had in mind ❤️❤️❤️

Ian stood, hands resting against the kitchen counter, arms stretched to their capacity as they watch their coffee machine stream out a second pods worth of coffee in that one giant cup they'd squeezed onto the platform. They were seemingly mesmerised by the flow of the liquid, so much so, that they couldn't tear their eyes away from it as their mind both simultaneously raced, but was completely devoid of any cohesive thoughts.

It was speed thinking scenarios. They where running down every single other path of what could happen next, might happen next, and definitely will and won't, happen next.

The coffee machines comforting hum came to a stop, and the lever clicked back, making them jump out of their trance.

They took their coffee, added their metric shit ton of sugar, and shuffled back to the sofa with their favourite knitted blanket around their shoulders.

The sound of a key entering their door from this side of it, was still a jarring enough noise for Ian to lurch forward on the sofa at a speed that caused a tsunami over the side of their cup, just enough to drip coffee on their favourite blanket, which made them cuss under their breath.

"Hey" You call out, having unknowingly caused a small mug disaster.

"What are you doing here?!" Ian called back, clearly frustrated with something that couldn't have been your presence, not so soon after walking into the room.

"Are you okay?" You ask after a moment of taking in the sight before you.

"No, I'm not, thanks to you and your... Noisy key ... I have another wash load this week. It's going to smell of coffee now for the rest of time."

"Don't you ~like coffee?"

"There's a difference between ~liking coffee, and wanting your favourtie blanket to smell of the stuff for the rest of fricking eternity!" Their voice was getting louder... and a little bit more growl like with every passing second.

You have been in a relationship with this person for long enough to know that when the little things start to bug them, they are stressed to the max. Sitting down beside them, you take their coffee for them, placing it down on the table, before taking their hands in yours, prying them off of the blanket slowly.

"Ian.... Ian, baby.... look at me." You say softly, taking a breath and tapping their hand for them to take notice, and do the same. A little code you'd both put in place. Reluctantly, they follow your lead, but with every breath they took, their eyes filled with more and more tears, until they where eventually cascading down their cheeks without a single sound.

"It's not going to get any better." They sobbed out eventually, to which you wrapped your arms around their yarn cucooned body, and kissed their temple.

"I know you can't tell me everything - but I know, that on this one, rare occasion? You're wrong, sweetheart. That team of people have the most incredible techie on this planet... The most empathetic and kind, but also, the most hyper intelligent... that's a lethal combination, right there." You chuckle out a little sound, just to make them feel better in the smallest of ways.

"If I can't do this ... If I can't figure it out... Ziggy goes to shit, and my friends go the same way." While they hadn't divulged everything to you, they'd let you in more than they ever had anyone else. They knew the probability of holding onto a relationship without doing so was very slim - they didn't need Ziggy to tell them that.

"Just... Try to stay calm, okay?"

"Does that ever really help ~anyone? I'm on the brink of an existential crisis and a liiiittle bit of a mental breakdown, I'm just attempting to lean into this time, if that's alright." Their sass was actually hilarious most of the time but it sometimes could reflect their frustrations with the world - on top of the rest of it.

"That's .... fair.." You chuckle, your hand on their back rubbing firmly, but gently, staying silent for the longest time, your other hand squeezing tight, which made their body instantly relax into yours, flopping to the side and resting their head against your shoulder. A grounding touch never failed.

"Words are cheap to Ian, huh?" You grumble into their hair where you found yourself nuzzling while you matched their level of sass, it was one of the things they loved about you.

"Asshole." They mumble, but with the slightest of smiles.

"I'll take that. I deserve it."

"No... No you don't. I love you. You know I do."

"I do. It's a damn good job, because I brought us home chinese food and I was kinda hoping we could have a few rounds of Mortal Kombat." You reply with a smile as you find your strong fingers massaging into the palm of their elegant hands,

"hmmmm...ummmhumm... Can I fight as Jade?"

"Fuck yes. I'd be disappointed if you didn't chose the character you kick my ass with every time." You laugh.

"Hmmmmm" They pondered "In that case... both of those things ~would ease some tension."

"I know a few other tricks for that later, too.."

"You do? What would those be, loverboy?"

"Words are cheap, Ian baby." You snark with a soft laugh.

"I fricking love you, Asshole." They laughed gently.

Ziggy spent a lot of time in this front "garden" space early in his time in Tiny Town, so he wanted to add a few things to make the space nicer and more welcoming.

Tiny Town Challenge: Annie Aperture

This character was significantly easier than Ziggy Yarn... thank god. She joined the freelance career as a photographer (because just taking a bajillion photos was not particularly fun). In many of her freelance jobs, Annie worked with the style influencer, Lien Sadya and they became close friends. Lien and Annie eventually fell in love and right at the end of the challenge, Lien moved in with Annie to share her tiny industrial home.

As a parting gift to the community, Annie spent the remainder of her money on beginning the build of the community centre.

Deligracy's Tiny Town Challenge

The Goal

The aim of this challange is to build 7 tiny homes on one lot, for 7 sims that match their desires and skills. Download my 7 sims off the gallery (username:deligracy) via the #deligracy or #tinytown. Then, download my "Tiny Town lot". Alternatively you can create your own!

The Rundown

Each sim has a set skill that you must utilise in order to fund their tiny home build. For example Frank Stem likes Florist arranging, so you must sell floral arrangements to fund his Tiny House build. 

You must also represent each sim's favourite style and colour in the build (see sim characters below) - You can only work on one sim's house at a time, move each sim in individually as you "unlock" them. 

To "unlock" the next sim, you must complete the previous sim's home. 

How to play 

Start by moving your first sim into the Tiny Town lot.

To select your first sim, you could use an online randomiser, or just pick your favourite. 

After you move in your first sim, use a money cheat to set money at $0. 

Each sim has an allocated "tiny lot" with their skill item of choice, and some useful items in a box labelled with their name (If you have Eco Lifestyle). They also start with a tent, cooler and bush to wee and poop in. Feel free to adjust these items if you don't have the required packs. 

After you find your skill items start making simoleons through selling your creations! 

Use this money to build your sim's tiny home!

The Tiny Home does not have to fit into the contraints of the Tiny Home Stuff Pack sizes, the idea is to just make them small enough to fit 7 on one lot! 

 Extra Rules and ideas  

Your sims may contribute to community areas to help other neighbours when they move in and to create a lovely sense of community and lifestyle. Ideas could be a shared laundry, bathroom, BBQ area, garden etc.

If you have The Sims 4 For Rent, you may like to play multiple families on the one lot. This way you can let each sim romance and have families. I advise you set their rent to $0 or the minimum to avoid additional income. 

As you move in more sims and build more homes you will have to pay higher bills. Try your best to only build with your current sim's earnings, however you may keep track of a kitty for household bills too! You could even put this kitty money into a shared Get Famous money vault - or keep track on a note pad and paper. If you have The Sims 4 For Rent, separating them into rentals could make it easier.

Most players won't have all, if any, of The Sims DLC packs. Feel free to alter the challenge to suit the packs you do have, or utilise basegame features. There are many ways to make money including tasks like collecting valuable objects or careers.

You can play on any lifespan, use any cheats, lot traits/challenges, sims - but keep in mind the easier you make it for yourself will mean it isn't as much of a challenge!
