It's so refreshing to see someone who does not put TGCF as their #1 fav. In my danmei moots circle, most of them love TGCF, and almost always talk about it. (I'm okay, but sometimes I wanna talk about other danmei, too, cause TGCF is not my favorite). Having said that, I still watched the donghua, it's beautiful. But HuaLian is just not my otp (I love QuanYin, too). For me, MDZS & SVSSS > TGCF (and I don't meet many people who agree with this).

My first and second favorite characters from Can Ci Pin would be Lin Jingheng and Lu Bixing. I mean, obviously, they're the main pairing, but I really love their individual personalities and their dynamics.

I always love cool and dependable characters like Lin Jingheng. And it is because he's super cool that it's adorable to see him indulging and adoring Lu Bixing in his own ways.

Lu Bixing only came out as funny and cute at first but (spoiler) the part where his personality underwent changes during his struggles after thinking that LJH was dead just absolutely struck me hard. 😭 I also love his shamelessness, very typical of Priest's work. XD

After them, it's definitely Zhanlu. He's probably the most interesting robot character I've read in years, the way he's both funny but sometimes very human-like is pure endearing. 🥹

I couldn't really remember any particular moments in the story because it's been a while since I read it, but I definitely adore when Lu Bixing surprised Lin Jingheng with a house of their own, with those little robots dancing at the entrance. And of course, I absolutely loved their reunion after those 14 years of separation. 😭

i usually don't do a TON of editing because i'm a raging perfectionist at first drafts (i have been like this since high school essays) and i always want to get things "right" the first time. but in general after i finish a fic draft i will leave it alone for ~1 week to let things Marinate, go back and comment on phrasing/words that i want to change, work thru them, and only then pass along to a first reader/beta :')

i think it would be soooooo fun if there was some mixup during the early qiming days and lulin accidentally ingested an aphrodisiac that turan had lying around, maybe thinking it was wine or whatever because lbx had badgered ljh into having a celebratory little drink with him (occasion nonexistent, he just wanted a date). honestly can't decide if it would be more potent to have only one of them actually drink it, as in the original fic, or for both of them to get into it and then they have gradually slide towards having sex while they're both insane horny. f in the chat for both zhanlu (really can't get through to either of them) and turan (whiskers in real danger now)
