LEBANON (RrR)(RNN) — Lebanon continues to bleed. For the first time, the IOF issued mass evacuation of the entire city of Baalbek in northeastern Lebanon, causing massive displacement as residents flee towards safer areas. The IOF has repeatedly bombed and destroyed crossings into Syria, which hinder the movements of the displaced.

Many are seeking shelter in the ancient Baalbek Castle to protect themselves, thinking that they will be safe. Many displaced headed to Zgharta and supposedly safe regions in the north. Massive raids followed, where the IOF carried out several airstrikes on Baalbek and surrounding towns (Douris, Iaat, Maqneh, Shmustar), including targeting oil tanks in Douris.

The head of the Civil Defense in Baalbek received a threatening phone call from the IOF telling him to evacuate citizens. Further, the Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture, and Industry in Zahle was evacuated after the IOF threatened to bomb it in a phone call.

Elsewhere, the IOF continued its raids and massacres in the south, recently carrying out airstrikes on Kfar Melki and Jebchit (Media 1). Martyrs and wounded were reported as the IOF directly bombed a family that was picking olives in Siney in southern Lebanon.

Work to remove rubble continued in Saida (https://t.me/PalestineResist/65591) following yesterday's massacre, where the final toll was 10 martyrs and 36 wounded. In Sarafand, (https://t.me/PalestineResist/65616) the final toll of the massacre stood at 13, including 5 children, and 3 are still under the rubble. The martyrs are from the Khalifa family and the Younis family, who took refuge with them from their town of Saksakiyeh.

Meanwhile, raids on Khiam continued, coinciding with artillery on its outskirts, as the IOF tries once again to advance in the southern valley amidst fierce resistance. The IOF also bombed a car in Bcahmoun in Mount Lebanon, and the driver survived. Another drone bombed a car near Qamatiyeh in the Aley region (Media 6), while a third drone targeted a van with four missiles on the Dahr Al-Wash-Kahale road. An airstrike also targeted Qamatiyeh . Lastly, one martyr and 4 wounded were reported in the suburbs of Sour in southern Lebanon

An Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment building in the village of Aitou in north Lebanon’s Zgharta District killed at least 18 people on 14 October, marking the first time the Christian-majority area has been attacked since the 2006 war.

Local reports confirmed the building housed multiple families, reportedly displaced from the south by the Israeli aggression. According to the Lebanese Red Cross, four others were injured in the attack on Aitou–Ehden road.

The deadly airstrike hit a few hours after Israeli jets launched a heavy round of airstrikes in Lebanon’s northern Bekaa region.

One of these attacks targeted an aid convoy on the Al-Ain road, injuring the driver and causing minor damage to the vehicles.

According to Lebanon’s Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamiyeh, the convoy’s movement had been coordinated with the UN. The aid shipment, which arrived in Beirut on Monday, was marked with the flags of Turkiye and the UAE as well as the Red Cross insignia.

The Success Story of: Green Community – Equator Initiative

Young people and experts got together to make Green Community, which is a safe solid waste community. This project was started by Mrs. Rima Frangieh and Dr. Sana AbiDib as part of the Al Midan NGO. It has grown into a strong community-based program with the help of public organizations such as the Federation of Zgharta towns, the Iris Frangieh Institution, and Lebanese Waste Solutions.

In 2007, this group started sorting at schools. It began working with towns in 2015 to make a garbage management plan for their area that would help the economy, the environment, and people's health. In northern Lebanon, the Green Community is made up of 100 state and private schools, 60 municipalities, and 130 villages. Manage solid garbage as resources in a way that doesn't harm the environment. Because of how they care about the world and our health, how we "think" about our "garbage" will have a good or bad effect on our lives. Talking to every institution or city government, doing a survey, planning awareness and door-to-door campaigns, handing out recycling bins and boxes, brochures, and stickers, making a collection plan, and collecting recyclables and sending them to a sorting facility to be packed up and sent to the right recycling factory are the main things that need to be done. This is done in every neighborhood in our effort. Green Community is getting bigger with more schools, towns, and cities. Also, we're part of a lot of national solid waste management networks that work to make trash management more sustainable and stop people from just throwing trash away, burning it, or incinerating it without organizing it. Since 2007, Green Community has been at the forefront of campaigns to raise understanding about the health and environmental effects of hazardous waste, including batteries. We got batteries and worked with groups that recycle them.

Green village is a success story because of the following:
