Jake Tweneboah (OH MC)

During high school there was this girl in Jake's class that kept getting bullied for the way she was dressed and how poor she was. Out of everyone in the class Jake was only one who defended her and became her friend. Each and every day a group of boys would go up to this girl and would harass her. They'd sometimes take her empty her backpack or rip her books in front of her. Jake always stood up her. But one day it got too far and Jake beat up the bullies who where twice his size after they took the girl's lunch. A teacher who was passing by saw the bullies wailing on the floor and they not knowing what the full story of happened was and sent Jake to the Principals Office. Jake's Grandmother was called in to deal with him and but she ended up siding with Jake and the girl. She knew about the bullies bothering the girl after she came over to Jake's house and the bullies came up to her and dumped a whole bottle of water over her just because she smelled. After hearing this the principal gave the two bullies detention and Jake off with just a warning on to deal with his anger in words and not not with his hands.

i need my brain to work better i am having good thoughts about barley and how they thematically fit into cotrk so well but i cannot get it to come out in a satisfying way… character grieving their whole world + world full of characters who are grieving = good to think about. does that make sense???

Your name is yelled from the bedroom upstairs, shrill and panicked, and yet you stay put—groggy-eyed while pouring yourself a cup of freshly brewed coffee, thinking it’s way too early to be screaming.

The loud steps come second—thundering down the stairs in an angry rush.

Meanwhile, you lean against the kitchen counter and take a slow sip of your mug, awaiting the storm.

He rounds the corner like a livid search dog, nearly slipping at the harsh turn—out of breath, face warped, crazy eyes needing to do a double take before landing on you—stopping dead in his tracks like it was the last place he expected to find you. 

“Mornin'. You look tense…” you drawl, staring back at him over the top of your cup while taking another sip. “Wake up on the wrong side of the bed again?”

Bedhead, in his boxers, he looks at you like you’re the crazy one.

“What? D’you think I ran away again?” You sneer, chuckling dryly as he calms his strained breaths. “Jeez, have some faith. I’m not exactly itchin’ to relive what you did last time.”

He sighs, and his whole muscle-swole upper body sinks with relief, nearly glittering in the ceiling light, glossed in a thin sheen of cold sweat. It’s a real shame he’s a crazy kidnapper, or you’d be all over that willingly.

“You’re not supposed to leave the bed,” he mutters, dragging his hands through his hair in an effort to ground himself again—having been a hairpin trigger away from blowing a fuse.

“You’ gonna punish me for makin’ you coffee?” You scoff, handing him a matching coffee cup.

He doesn’t take it, even though you’d poured it for him and everything. Still looking frazzled, joined by puzzlement at your strange behavior, eyeing the offering with furrowed brows that quickly become suspicious of its contents.

“Oh, come on.” You take a sip from it yourself, proving you hadn’t done anything funny to it while rolling your eyes at him. “I’m just tryin’ to play along.”

"My grandma use to say that. But I guess it doesn't does it. I just clean my scrubs seperately from my regular clothes." Nova said.

"That's beautiful in a way." Nova said with a smile. "Makes sense. You have to be comfortable in your own skin." Nova nodded. "In both my birth certifcates its written out and my liscnese theres the little line thing." Nova said. "Nova just sounds better than Nagisa." There was a glimmer in her eye. "It only works on a few select codes, its basically my family's birthday in rotation. It was a mandate by Nagisa Abe the first. To make sure things dont happen." Nova said with a shrug.

“Hey – not me” Zeke mused, holding his hands up “I ain’t expecting you to know nothing. Just grateful it was my drink that exploded and not my damn head, you know?” For him, two hundred dollars was a handsome enough amount for having been collateral. Glancing down towards the material of his shirt, Zeke shrugged as she went off on a tandem about the detergent “does that make a difference? All I know is I leave my dirty clothes in a basket and– I don’t know, that shit is magic cus the next day, everythin’ is clean and hanging up in the closet.”

Narrowing his gaze now, he rolled his shoulders “my ma had a thing about angels. Shit– I ain’t even been that though.” In his defence, neither had his mother. “Ain’t that I don’t like it, I guess. Just prefer to go by Zeke, or EZ.” His brow lifted as Nova introduced herself, “so that's like– all written out on your birth certificate? The second? Or do they do that funny little line thing? I never got that.” Zeke nodded, loosely following on with her explanation. “Nova, alright. I can work with that. Hold up” his brow creased as he revisited her ramble, “so back to the atm thing” Obviously he had to ask and ask nonchalantly, “don’t they have like – you know an all access code?”
