The gay Hare (Заяц) and the gayer Wolf (Волк) from 'Nu, pogodi!' (Ну, погоди!).

For this drawing, its idea came to me as mind-blowing insight: "What if old soviet cartoon, but horny???". You see, my genius truly is something to behold 😎😎😎

Zayats and Volk

The most heterosexual furry m/m couple (much like my father, they are not beating the fruity allegations). While I've already reviewed Volk, about like 5 years ago. I'm going to amend my statement about them being propaganda, as I feel they're more a product of passion than state sponsored good times. I don't know what else to say except there's no heterosexual explanation to this relationship, honestly.

These two are from an iconic Soviet cartoon called Nu Pogodi (translated to Well, Just you Wait”). It’s a lot like Tom And Jerry but it has a wolf and a hate and there’s more adult humor.

I first came across it when the “Eastern European Childhood” thing was becoming popular on Tik Tok

Я успешно выпросила на speedrun.com, чтобы туда добавили игру Ну, погоди! Выпуск 4. Догонялки. Из скриншота игры я вырезала статуэтку Зайца и сделала серебряный и бронзовый варианты. Это вместо стандартных иконок для первых трёх мест. Обрезка грубая, но на иконках на сайте этого не заметно.

This zine will be a physical print zine, and will be for-profit!

This zine is open to both old fans of Nu, Pogodi!, and new discoverers! This is a curated zine project, and contributors will be chosen from applicants.

What is Nu, Pogodi?

Nu, Pogodi! Is a Soviet Russian cartoon, originally running from ‘69 to ‘91, with a relatively small number of episodes produced in that time. In short, Nu, Pogodi! Is basically a Soviet version of Tom & Jerry, a classic slapstick chase cartoon. However, Nu, Pogodi! Stands out with fantastic animation, lovely retro aesthetics, and a poppin soundtrack! Not to mention Wolf the literal Fashion Icon  ™ and his high fashion looks.

The cartoon is in Russian, but dialogue is minimal and everything that’s happening is easily understandable even if you don’t speak a word of the language!  You can watch the entire thing here:
