when Zane first starts to have feelings for you, he doesn't know what to do. he's sure his power source is going haywire, or that he's short circuiting.

he self scans OFTEN

overheating anytime you look at him, and overheats more from the panic of not knowing what in the fuck is wrong with him.

as most of the ninja do- he goes to nya.

he explains everything, all of his symptoms, the way your glances make him panic and overheat.

she smiles almost immediately, instantly knowing that he's twitterpated.

he doesn't know what that is.

"yes, I do?"

he's simply confused as ever, but eventually nya seems to explain it well enough and his eyes light up at the realization

he likes you

it takes him a few months, but eventually works up the courage to ask you out

he'd planned the first date for weeks ahead of time

he wanted it perfect!

and, it was.

a nice picnic in a park, a beautiful lunch and hours of conversation

your first kiss was under a cherry tree, he initiated it.

now onto the actual relationship bit--

and honestly, he'll kiss anywhere he can reach.

he just finds it entertaining and intimate, no words are needed when he can just kiss you and hold you

Plus this is all my headcanons and interpretations so I can understand the world better

So when are we as Ninjago fans finally going to talk about the fact that Zane canonically has the robot equivalent to a CDD (complex dissociative disorder, stuff like DID and OSDD).

Like the way the Ninjigma functions is INCREDIBLY similar to structural dissociation. Layers upon layers of encryption to stop you from remembering something horrible that happened to you? Then when you go poking around in that like memory vault, your own mind shuts you down or in some cases forces you to harm yourself? Yeah. That's structural dissociation.

And his struggles with his identity is very very typical of CDDs. Like that whole thing in season four (yk directly after one of the most traumatic moments of his life, FUCKING DYING) where he didn't feel like "Zane" anymore and felt like he couldn't call himself the white ninja because he wasn't the white ninja, he's just a copy of a dead man. Like that's VERY host change coded to me at least.

And like the way he tends to like freeze up when triggered (cause keep in mind, CDDs don't exist independently, they always come with PTSD/C-PTSD) especially when they're talking about going into battle or like talking about literally anything to do with the Overlord ever. He starts playing with his hands and biting his lip like he's trying to calm himself down, until they actually go into battle and he's fine again (alter switch).

Don't even get me started on the Ice Emperor. Like the fact he only turns back into him as he's dying in Crystalized (an incredibly triggering situation for him.)...

And like the way he just completely dissociates and disconnects himself after Nya disappears and seems to be doing something similar in Dragon's Rising because Pixal is missing (side note I hate Dragon's Rising. If you like Dragon's Rising I think you should have your Ninjago fan card revoked lowkey.... I couldn't even finish it).

Anyways Zane is severely traumatized and half the fans + the writers tend to forget that a log but it's my favorite thing to yap about.

No idea if this made any sense whatsoever.

Lloyd - His sloutched posture turned to a straight back immediately, having been caught off gourd but not displeased with the attention he received. Finally this boy was thinking about something that wasnt being a hero and saving ninjago. Small boyish smile reached even as he tried to act cool, seeing as you reached out of sight for him his ears popped into a hot pink, and even his face was hot to the touch.

Jay - Only laughed a little after like nothing but felt as if he was on cloud nine, his heart beating quickly in his chest even with his 'Stay cool' facade that Kai had tried to teach him into doing. After you had left him he was giggly and touching where your lips had just briefly touched his cheek, celebrating to himself.

Kai - The ego of this man went through the sun, his usual smirk had formed into a more genuine smile. It felt odd having someone show interest in him as usually it was he who always did, it made him feel warm(er). Definitely let it get a little to his head for the rest of the day.

Zane - He had the least reaction, but the butterflies in his stomach had appeared yet again. The tiniest smile on spread on his face as he watched you leave, feeling accomplished and appreciated even from the small action of affection from you.

Cole - Definitely the kind of guy to not give it too much thought in the moment, but rather thinking of it for the rest of the day. It's not that he didn't want it more or less the fact he didn't expect it and far from it. A secret he would keep for himself only.

Nya - Shocked for the first few seconds after, but nonetheless she enjoyed it, taking it as a hint to start showing her interest with you (even though you might have already cought on). Feeling her palms being a tad bit more clammy than usually for the a while rest of the evening.

Morro - Scoffing after as he crossed his arms, shaking his head. He was in denial about his feelings, and you've only made it worse for him. His heart would've been beating fast if he still had one. After his experience of being a ghost, he didn't feel much, but that was the most warmth he'd felt in a long time on the inside.

P.I.X.A.L - Dose not register as an affection and question it, not used to being shown like this. Definitely went and searched up about this later and found out what the potential meaning could be she was happy, to say the least.

°× Would probably be more protective over you. He likes to be your little hero even if you could deal with it alone. (Talking about fights on missions).

°× I can sense he'd hide little loving notes in your pocket or etc. Like he secretly watching you get confused and search for the slightest blush on your cheeks when you found them.

°× When you blush he feels like winning but then he realises he wrote them anonimusly...

°× He likes to stay close to you. Like the ninjas are making a plan and somehow he's always next to you. (If he feels more confident your shoulders are touching each other's).

°× Poor guy is overheels for you, but can't it to show you. Can treat you platonic in front of others.

°× Or this is what he thinks he does. All the other ninjas know about his crush. How? It's in his eyes.

°× He has no idea how to hit on you so he hopes you will get the signs.

Kai

°× Oh my. His love for you is so obvious.

°× He flirts with you all the time that you started to questioning that he does this to anyone else.

°× He became extramely protective over you. If anyone dares to mess with you has already jumped on the person.

°× He shows off in front of you a lot. Tries everything to impress you. So that's why the trainings are leaving you all sweaty and blushy.

°× He always the one to treat you wounds after missions. You tried to ask him why, but he shushed you multiply times or ignored you.

°× He uses it as a way to spend more time with you, but if anyone confronted him about it he denied it.

°× He praises you a lot to the other ninjas to the point that they bored to death during these yapping session.

°× He's that type of person who likes to help you. In fights, at trainings and other stuff.

°× Even though he flirted with you like no one else it took him by surprise when you kissed him.

Jay

°× He's a whole mess. That's why he keeps his love for you as a secret.

°× Probably Kai convinced him to make a move, but Jay just refused. So he admired you from the distance

°× He awkwardly invited you to play video games with him. He likes to spend time with you.

°× When you play with him his attention is more on you than the game so you beat him on the game quite a lot.

°× He acted like he was upset about it, but he loved to see you smile and little winning dance.

°× Jay is really physical touch type of person, you might feel his hand on your shoulder.

°× Whenever he steps in the room the first he does is look for your face.

°× He might write little poems about you in his secret diary. Admire every single thing about you.

°× He's very observant when it comes for you. He remembers little details about what you like and your apperance.

°× His the first one who recognise if you changed something on yourself. Hair, stlye, anything.

°× Sometimes he points them out.

°× He's the quitest of the all the ninjas. That's why he likes to listen to you.

°× He likes to ask about your special interests so he can just listen to your cute voice.

°× He sometimes overhear you talking about what foods do you like and somehow the next day It's for lunch.

°× You asked him how does he always know what you like, but he just said "I don't know..Maybe I am a good guesser".

°× When his love for you was finally clear for him he asked Nya what should he do.

°× Her advices turned out well, but Zane was worried about losing you.

Cole

°× When he found out he fell in love he had a slight panic. You were really close friends, but if you don't feel the same it would destroy your friendship.

°× He was nervous around you. He didn't want to mess anything up. So he acted subtle about it.

°× But how he always made sure you take care of yourself made you question that It's more than just best friend thing.

°× Sometimes he sneaks out with you to the city to try new cakes at a local bakery. Such a sweet and innocent way to spend time with you.

°× You caught him staring at you a lot. Even from across the room. Those admiring eyes.

°× He became protective over you even more. He won't let anyone hurt you.

°× He shares his cake with you, no one else but you. It's a kind of way that he shows he has something for you.

°× When you guys hold eye contact he found himself lost in your eyes. He was awkwardly looking at you til you snapped him out of it.

°× He's extremely patient with you. He's with anyone, but with you even more.

°× His face immediately softens when he only hears your name.

Nya

(I had a lesbian panic while I was writing these headcanons lol)

°× For the first time she was confused why is her heart sped up around you all the time. Like why does she feel like this around you?

°× The confusion got replaced by a realisation. She didn't know what to do with this feeling.

°× She's normally a though girl, but this feeling got her soft and she didn't know how to feel about it.

°× She starts to open up about her life and her feelings what she doesn't share with anyone else.

°× She hugged you more often, totally acting platonic about it. She secretly or not likes physical touch.

°× Her love for you is far from secret. Everybody knew about it but they didn't dare to say anything about it.

°× She has a printed picture of you somewhere hidden in her gi. Even if you're not dating she likes to have your picture around her.

°× She started helping you a lot with your projects what you wanted to make (robots, guns, weapons etc.)

°× She feels no shame kicking butts who's owner hurt you. No one messes with her dear „best friend” under her watch.

°× Even though she knows you're fully capable to protect yourself she sometimes like to help out. She knows how is it feels so she only does it when you want her to.

I think these secretly in love headcanons ended up as not a secret. By the end I started adding dating headcanons. When I realised I'm doing that I tried to replace them, but I think I left some. I didn't have so much idea.

Since the live action Ninjago movie is confirmed, here are some of my crack predictions

They DC-ify all the Gi's (think the animated movie but x10)

They retcon half the lore

Lloyd is played by a 25+ year old actor

Dareth is there, but he's serious and played by Chris Pratt

Cole is purely token big, strong dude of the group™️ and isn't a sweet cinnamon roll

Kai's actor is blond (that'd be so funny. It'd be like how Miles Morales's Peter Parker was blond)

Zane is a human

Jay's actor is 6ft

Wu is played by Jackie Chan (cool) or by Danny DeVito (cursed)

Garmadon is either a giant hulking mess of CGI or just some guy dressed in black with red eyes and the occasional black, purple shadow

Cole doesn't get a giant scythe (cowards)

Sorry this is kinda short!! I just had thoughts and. here they are

Ninjago - Getting All Tucked In

Kai

BODYSLAMS YOU

I am so sorry but… that’s just how it is with him

He’ll wait until you’re all tucked in, then he’ll run at the bed and JUMP

Sometimes he aims to land on you, sometimes he aims for the place next to you

Just imagine that one markiplier gif (see below) but instead of going to punch you he has his arms open to wrap around you

^ him every night

Once you’re done scolding him for. that. Then he’ll cuddle up next to you as an apology

Unfortunately no amount of scolding will ever deter him from doing this literally every night

It’s rather jarring to go from “ah I’m ready for bed” to “IM BEING BODYSLAMMED” to “ah time for bed” again, but you both somehow don’t lose sleep over it

Cole

Likes to carry you to bed :]

The way I see it, you’ll both wait until you’re super sleepy before heading to bed

Then, wherever you are, he’ll insist on scooping you up to carry you

Even if you’re both just in the bathroom brushing your teeth and the bed is five steps away

He won’t hear any protests you give

It’s lowkey an excuse to hold you and cuddle when you settle down shhhh

If you start to fall asleep while he’s carrying you, he’ll be extra careful not to wake you

He also likes to switch up how he carries you, depending on his mood

Sometimes he’ll carry you bridal style, sometimes he’ll give you a piggy back, sometimes he just throws you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes (gently)

After a while you learn to just give in to it

Also always smiles while he carries you :)

Zane

He doesn’t just wait until you’re in bed; he waits until you’re at least half asleep

He’ll find something to do while he waits (usually chores)

Why does he do this? He doesn’t want to disturb you :(

But honestly it’s more disturbing how quiet he is when he finally tucks himself in

Like… does he think you’re going to murder him?? Why is he literally in full ninja mode

You actually get scared when he does this at least once

One moment you’re alone in bed and the next you sleepily open your eye and THERES SOMEONE NEXT TO YOU—oh it’s just Zane

You’ve tried to talk to him about it before, but he always insists on “not disrupting your routine”

He’s definitely anxious about getting in your way/disturbing you, but he also likes how peaceful you look as he silently slips in beside you

It’s relaxing for him to see you like that before he starts to recharge himself :]

Jay

Insists on being tucked in

He HAS to be the first in bed; he will literally run ahead of you to ensure this

If you ever get in before him, he’ll just sit on top of the covers and stare at you

If you play dumb (bc you know what he wants) he’ll clear his throat like “um I’m waiting”

Literally so needy 😭

He just loves the way you pull the covers over him and kiss his forehead

And when you slide in next to him? Bliss

It makes him feel safe knowing that you’re the one seeing him off to sleep

Not only does he get to see you before he drifts off (so he knows you’re there with him and you’re safe), but he trusts you more than anyone

He may be needy but he deserves someone like you who will do this for him :( my boy has trust issues

He likes to get in bed at the exact same time

You’ll both go to one side of the bed and climb in, scooting closer together until you meet in the middle

I like to imagine that you both wrap one arm around each other and use your free arms to pull the covers up together

A soft smile comes to his lips as he drifts off, and internally he’s thanking you for being there with him :)

It definitely helps with nightmares to wake up to another body next to his; one that’s calm and grounding

She gets in bed WAY after you

She likes to stay up, what can I say

An early bird and a night owl 😔

Dw though, she always tells you goodnight when you go to bed

Then, several hours later, she’ll come in and slide into bed next to you

OR BEHIND YOU AND SHES THE BIG SPOON OUUGHHHHH

She’ll wrap her arms around you and pull you in to kiss your head

If you stir awake, she shushes you, already half-asleep herself

But she doesn’t really try not to disturb you; she’s way too sleepy for that

So you probably will actually stir awake at some point

But then you both fall asleep pretty quickly, just cozied up together <3

☆ his favorite places to kiss you are the lips. was this not obvious in the beginning. his hands are on your hips, or around your shoulders...usually would also hump you up against his waistforcing your legs to wrap around his hips.

☆ when you two make out YOU TWO MAKE OUT!! dude is not playing when it comes to you and your body

☆ compliments the fuck outta you when making out. he loves your body, of course that is not the reason he is dating you, he may love your body but there were many other things he fell for when meeting you.

☆ when you offer sleepovers he begs to have them at your place. one, your bed is comfortable as fuck and two, you have so many snacks it makes him crazy.

☆ you do get too hot, which ends with you moving more around in your bed. once you woke up with your foot on his face and your head near his foot and yall were so confused.

The strangest thing each ninja has used as a weapon:

Kai: a traffic light. He refuses to tell anyone how he got it. He always gets wide eyed with a traumatic look every time someone asks.

Jay: Zane.

Nya: a charging plug. Like, the plug. Not the wire. She keeps in on her shelf and each of the metal rods on it has a small tint of red. No one asks. I lied Zane asked and he smiled the entire time, and than Nya had to hold him because he had a nightmare about it later.

Cole: a paper straw. He somehow won.

Zane: a samosa. He now has monthly dinners with them and taught them how to be 5 star chefs.

Zane, again: a gun.

Lloyd: a milk bottle. The milk was expired.

Pixal: herself. She is the weapon. She made Zane help her put guns and weapons and more built into her.

Bonus+

Wu: a street lamp. Those really tall ones too.

Garmadon: a spork. He lost, and it was his favourite spork that the other broke. It was on that day that everyone learnt not to touch anything he likes.

Skylor: a railing. She lowkey just ripped it off.

Morro: a tree. Please, don’t EVER ask questions.

Vania: a window, plus its frame. Cole ripped it off and handed it to her, she was completely baffled on what to do with it.

Benthomaar: a floaty. One of those baby ones.

Harumi: the front of a bus.

Echo: a bush. Like, a whole bush.

Misako: one of her incredibly special, one of a kind antiques.

Mystake: a fan. You choose what kinda fan.
