Notre commentaire : “S.W.A.T.: Under Siege” est un thriller d’action américain datant de 2017, réalisé par Tony Giglio, à qui l’on doit également “Extraction” (2013). Les acteurs principaux sont Sam Jaeger, qu’on a pu voir dans “American Sniper” (2014), Adrianne Palicki, qu’on a pu voir dans “L’Aube Rouge” (2012), Michael Jai White, qu’on a pu voir dans “Falcon Rising” (2014), Kyra Zagorsky, qu’on a pu voir dans “Home Invasion” (2016), et Ty Olsson, qu’on a pu voir dans “Godzilla” (2014). Ce film s’inscrit dans la franchise SWAT dans la continuité de “S.W.A.T. Unité d’Élite” (2003) de Clark Johnson dans lequel on pouvait voir Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, et Michelle Rodriguez.

L’histoire proposée par “S.W.A.T.: Under Siege” n’a rien de très originale. Une équipe du SWAT se retrouve coincée dans son QG avec un groupe paramilitaire criminel cherchant à investir les lieux afin de mettre la main sur un ancien agent secret détenant des informations de la plus haute importance. Mais mon Dieu que c’est mauvais. Les véritables membres des forces des SWAT doivent être furieux qu’on les fasse passer pour des guignols. Il est plus qu’évident que la production n’a absolument pas cherché à s’entourer au minimum d’un ancien d’une de ces unités d’élites pour officier comme conseillé, sans quoi il n’y aurait pas autant d’incohérences dans le scénario. 

L’intrigue est plus qu’usuelle, mais il y a un petit rebondissement dans la dernière partie qu’on ne voyait pas forcément venir, il faut l’avouer. La distribution est très faible, et le jeu d’acteurs s’en fait ressentir. À se demander ce qu’est venu faire Michael Jai White dans cette galère. En outre, j’espère que ce n’est pas lui qui a signé les chorégraphies des combats parce que là aussi, c’est très mauvais. En effet, on voit clairement que c’est un ballet de mouvements, ça n’a rien de réaliste. De plus, pour certaines scènes, les acteurs sont doublés, ça se voit aussi très nettement, ce qui ajoute à l’ambiance d’amateurisme général. 

En conclusion, il n’y a rien de particulier à se mettre sous la dent avec “S.W.A.T.: Under Siege”. Les scènes d’action ne sont vraiment pas terribles, en dehors de la scène d’ouverture, à la limite. Le scénario est truffé d’incohérence, les scènes de combat sont mal chorégraphiées, les acteurs sont très moyens. Le rythme est cependant correct, et évite l’ennui, et la durée raisonnable évite le zapping. C’est un film à oublier et à ne pas conseiller.
