"Also thank you for bringing coffee. I haven't managed to get downstairs for one and it's been a long morning. Somehow it's harder to wake up with how quiet it is now that Ember is living downstairs."

"Hey, Blue!" The moment he'd broken away from the crowd as he was beckoned to join Toby and their father in his office, Ember stopped him by the doors with a little grab onto one of his arms near his wrist. "Are you really going out there? In all of that? I mean... Toby is nuts and his ego is the size of a pumpkin, so he makes sense... but... like... that's super dangerous." Though the two had just met, really, he'd made a bit of an impression on her, and she couldn't help but be just the tiniest bit concerned. "I doubt they had any hair dye on that helicopter."

He couldn't pretend he didn't know what she was talking about, even if he tried. Smiling at Ember, he decided not to say a thing about it and, instead, rushed with some explanation when she asked why they were talking about the trip possibly taking longer than expected. "I hope not. But... Better safe than sorry." In general, he wouldn't care how long it would take as long as they succeeded, but it was about Doom, too, so Zach had to be sure his friend would be taken care of and safe before they left.

Ember's assurances and general willingness to help – even though he knew very well it was all thanks to Doom's charm – were absolutely endearing, and Zach was sure she wasn't exaggerating when she said the dog wouldn't leave her side. If the dog could speak, he would say the same thing, actually. Wherever she'll go, I'll go. A promise they would keep. "I know. He'll be in the best hands," he repeated after her with a nod. "Yeah, it's a lot." Zach massaged his cheeks with a little eye roll as if to show it must have been the longest monologue in his life. Again, no lie there.

The hug wasn't so unexpected; at this point, he knew Ember enough to be far from surprised by it. With his arms awkwardly at his sides, he still needed a second to put his arms around her and return the gesture. "Sure," he replied, wishing he had any power over his fate. Somehow, a hug was something he clearly needed after everything he had been through and before whatever would come next. Before he pulled away, he placed a kiss on Ember's cheek with a quiet, relieved "Thank you" and looked at her again.

In this episode of The MinnMax Show, in the segment that begins at timestamp 01:02:09 they talk about Dragon Age: The Veilguard (“We're joined by GameSpot's Lucy James and returning MinnMax community member Haley De Boom to talk about Comic Con and BioWare's Dragon Age: The Veilguard”). Lucy James was the host and moderator of the DA:TV companions panel at SDCC.

In this video, Lucy talked a bit about what she saw of the game in the SGF demo back in June. She says the game looked "impressive" and that BioWare "were making some big swings just at the end of that first hour for long-term fans, and even, I think, if you were fresh to it […] I think you would be dying to see where it goes next".

Lucy also talked about working with the devs and actors for the panel:

"Even from working on the, kind've, run-of-show from the panel, there were things that were originally in there, that have been, we took out, just for fear of spoilers, and I can say that some of the character things are really cool, and I'm really excited for. But I don't think, so I think Zach, Jessica, and Nick - Ali has obviously had this experience from being in Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I don't think they're ready for how much their lives are going to change, for how excited BioWare fans get for companions, because like you said, they are the heart of the games. Ali was, very much trying to warn them, like in a nice way, she was like, 'make sure you've got prints of your Dragon Age characters' and stuff, like, people. And there was a really nice moment at the, so Nick plays Emmrich, the necromancer, and he was talking about like, the relationship with death that he's trying to portray through that character, and someone came up and said, 'hey, my dad just died, so this was a really, I really enjoyed hearing what your perspective was on how the game is going to tackle things like death', and so at the end, everyone was kind've like, 'wow, that was such a beautiful moment', and Ali was like, 'people are gonna come up to you and say that you helped them through the darkest times, and it's never, it's always gonna be incredible to hear, but it will always get you emotional', and it was really nice things like that that she was saying."

Their relationship has been a secret for months. Zach and Y/N knew that rumours would spread throughout the campus because of Zach’s athletic status, so they wanted to keep this private between themselves. Things have been harder to keep a secret since Y/N works for the sports section of the school newspaper. Keeping their longing looks for each other is hard to hide from the people around them. This leads them to his room in his family home for a strategy meeting on how to keep their secret. However, as soon as Y/N walks through the door, Zach pulls her onto his lap and they start making out. After a few seconds, she pulls away from him with her arms on his shoulder. “This isn’t exactly figuring out how to hide our secret,” she mumbles, letting her breath fall on his mouth. Zach shrugs, “Technically, by kissing and getting all our energy out now, we are doing that because then we won’t want to do the soccer field.” She shakes her head with a giggle and lets her lips find his again.

They both hear footsteps from outside of his door and their eyes widen. No one else is supposed to be home yet. “Zach, do you have the controller for the Xbox?” Avery yells from the other side of the door. Y/N and Zach scramble around the room, looking for a place for her to hide. He rushes her under the bed and she rests her hand on the floor with her head on it. Her eyes widen as she sees the Xbox controller in question in front of her. The door opens and Zach looks over at his sister. “Uhh, I don’t know where it is Avery. What are you doing home early?” She walks into the room, “I finished soccer practice early and Mrs. Bells was able to drive me home.” Her footsteps approach the bed and she lets out a sigh. “You are such a liar, Zach. The controller is under your bed.” 

Panic floods Y/N as she sees Avery’s knees meet the floor. The younger girl’s hand reaches under the bed, blindly looking for what she needs and almost touching Y/N. Y/N doesn’t know what to do so she gently nudges it into Avery’s hand. Avery pulls it out with a happy huff and leaves the room in a rush. Zach laughs at his sister’s determination and gets up to close his bedroom door again. Y/N gets out from under the bed. “That was close,” she states, walking over to him. He takes her in his arms with a nod, “Yes, it was.” He takes her lips into his and they get back to making out.

Having already given a knock to the door of his apartment, Ember readjusted the bottle of champagne in her arms, having begged and pleaded for it from Charlie. Who, thankfully after hearing Ember's reasonings, had relented. It was finally time that she made things actually right, and after everything with the rescue and stuff, she really couldn't put it off any longer.

It took him a second to understand why her mood dampened all of a sudden, but it was too late to fix his wording when it finally hit him. He wished he could tell her that he wasn't kissing her out of pity or anything like that, but because, for some reason, he wanted to. Curiosity? Even if he couldn't explain his actions, he knew for sure he'd never do anything to mindlessly confuse her, so it had to mean something else.

Then Courtney said she needed some time for herself, do some thinking, and Zach had to admit that it would be the best solution. She would be sad and probably angry with him at first, but then she'd understand that he was a horrible choice. He could be someone she could turn to, ask for help, and talk to when she was feeling lonely, but to like him? No, she had to understand it was a horrible idea. And she would. Eventually. She even called it a silliness already, despite the tone of voice that didn't match the statement.

"Okay," he whispered with a nod. "Sure." He slid his hands into his pockets and looked at her, trying his best to smile. "You... know where to find me." Whether she would want to find him in the first place was a whole different story.

What if Chris will work with Zach?

The first meeting part 1

I opened my eyes still tired, feeling how my body was passing me, it was not even 6 in the morning, the time when the boss and I normally woke up. It was dark, but the laptop screen glowed with an intensity that burned my eyes. Once I was able to get used to the light, I was able to check the time more calmly, 02:34 am showed on the screen...

Once again we had fallen asleep on the couch, it was not strange since we were doing some reports, planning schedules, events, locations, etc. I took a deep breath before standing up but something drew me back to the couch, I had a slight suspicion what it was and a quick glance at my waist confirmed it, my boss Zach Varmitech's arm was resting on it.

I let out a tired sigh and removed his arm that had me trapped and woke him up by shaking him a little.

"Sir..." I called him calmly, I didn't have the throat at that moment to raise the tone "sir" I shook him a little more, but it didn't help much "please sir, don't force me to use another method" I tried persuade him, it's strange usually he's not a heavy sleeper, but since he didn't react I was forced to use another method. With both hands I covered Zach's mouth and nose and waited a few seconds, just enough for him to wake up and the moment he opened his eyes I moved away "it's good that you woke up sir."

"Chris! How many times have I told you not to wake me up like that?" He complained while he rubbed his eyes, I just looked at him with certain indifference, as was my custom "what time is it?"

"It's 02:35 am sir, we fell asleep on the couch again, I recommend leaving this as it is and continuing in the office tomorrow" speak calmly, since these types of situations were so common I lost their fear a long time ago

"Are you sure we can leave it for tomorrow?" He asked while checking the laptop screen.

Aviva rolled her eyes in amusement and after a while they landed the mechanical turtle in a clearing, only to see Createrra emerge from it with Martin as the driver and Aviva as the co-pilot.

"Look, Martin, a herd of elephants! Awww, a little elephant." She was moved when she saw the little animal next to her mother.

"Hahaha that's very cute, look at a pride of lions!" She pointed with her gaze to a pile of rocks on which some lions were resting. "aww, the cubs are very cute," the girl pointed out when she saw them playing with the male.

"And look over there, do you see that they are Oryx? What are they wearing?" He questioned himself when he saw the antelopes with what seemed like a somewhat strange lie.

"Oryx?"

"Oryx is a genus of artiodactyl mammals of the subfamily Hippotraginae, or horse-like antelopes, composed of four species. The common name of the genus alternates between oryx, oryx, oryx antelope or oryx gazelle," the zoologist explained when in doubt about its friend "but these seem to have something on..." she decided to stop and they got out of the vehicle to see them more closely.

The animals seemed to be calmly grazing as they normally would, but they didn't like the device they had on, and some voices somewhat familiar to Martin and Aviva caught their attention.

"Hey...doesn't that one over there look like your brother?" asked one of the voices

"I doubt it, he's supposed to be in the United States with..." the boy with the green tie stayed still as did Martin when he saw him, it was as if they had seen a ghost.

"No, yes, although I must admit that the beard looks good on him," praised the boy in the black vest, "and the girl next to him also sounds familiar to me, but from where?"

"...I don't think this is the best time to question that, sir," his assistant responded, but without taking his eyes off Martin at any time.

"Excuse me, are you the ones who did this?" Aviva asked angrily, interrupting the small talk.

"Of course, my name is Zach Varmitech, CEO of Varmitech Industries, a pleasure," said Zach, shaking the girl's hand. "By the way, do I know you? Because you sound familiar to me."

"Oh, Zach? I think I met a guy named Zach at a science camp I went to," she responded a little strangely (he looked nothing like the guy she met there in attitude) "but that's not the point, "What did they do to these animals?" She asked firmly, Zach just smiled with some amusement and responded.

"You see these are Varmitech brand Oryx frames, do you want to join in and be the first to ride one?" She asked him, bending down a little to be at her level (the girl was very short).

"Of course not, you can't have these animals like that" he was very upset about that, but Zach seemed to take it as a joke.

"Don't worry, girl, they're fine, they even have a protective plate and everything," he said, taking the mask off of someone passing by and showing her the padded interior with an eye protector.

"He still doesn't fix it," he continued, boring Zach a little.

"Boring...look, honey, you're no one to tell me what to do, so if you don't want to get on one, you can take your boyfriend's immobile car and leave" he said, making a gesture with his hand so that they would leave, which made him react. Martin

"She/he is not my girlfriend/boyfriend!" They said ashamed

"Sir, I think it would be better to go back inside, the...the sky has already darkened and it could be dangerous" I commented in his ear "are you sure?" The CEO asked, to which his assistant said yes, "I'm sorry guys, but it would be better to continue this discussion tomorrow."

"Or but of course not *interrupted*

"Okay Chris, we'll talk tomorrow" he said taking Aviva by the wrist and leading her away from the place.

"and if you change your mind I'll let you get on one tomorrow" Zach commented before they asked to hear them.

"Oryx are not strolling horses!" She yelled at them, annoyed at being further away, "what was that!?" Aviva asked calmly being loaded into the truck.

"No...I couldn't be there longer, I'm sorry," a tired Martin apologized and seemed to feel like crying right there, which surprised and worried Aviva. Martin just nodded in response.

"Are you okay? You don't seem to be one of those who are afraid of the dark," Zach said as he trained the animals in a kind of pen.

"...if only, I didn't expect to see him here" Zach felt a little bad and patted him on the shoulder to comfort him, which Chris appreciated with a slight smile.
