I get how Z and their ideology is just a really fucked up way of running away from your problems, but the passage of time displeases me and the endless now sounds quite appealing at the moment.

Z is decidedly underdeveloped in comparison to Zanza and Malos but I feel like a lot of his reputation comes from people taking the stuff he says before the final battle at face value. Like, he wasn’t being fully honest when he said “it’s because it amuses me” and I think it’s pretty unsubtle? Because right after the first phase Noah yells “this is all a sham” and smashes the theater, revealing it all to be an illusion, and it’s after that that we see Z for what he really is: an incarnation of fear who desperately needs to be in control because he (and the people he represents) can’t accept an uncertain future. He didn’t actually make aionios into a living hell for shits and giggles!
