I haven't felt like that since the night of BitterSweet Chapter 3 | Reunions & Reckonings pt. 10

Sooo i have a theory. I might know what Withered Finn is. This will be chaotic but stay with me.

But first lets take a look at this beautiful man.

How do i say this without sounding like a thirsty bitch?... He is covered from head to toe. No Finn has never been this covered before. What is he hiding there? ...Secrets!

With his pale hair he looks ghastly compared to wibrent blond of other Finns.

You can see that under does gorgeous hair there is a difference in texture on his face. That might be a long scar but i think is some kind of root or a vine.

Got all of that? Great! Now we will take a detour thru the patch of my knowledge that's dedicated to things that look exactly like someone but they aren't them.

Of Course we have here doppelgangers, not them, mimics, dopplers but between all of this one grab my atencion.

A Fetch

A fetch is a supernatural double or an apparition of a living person.

In his Withered design he is dressed very modern and is talking to Aauron. So we can assume that he exist in the same reality as Bittersweet.

To my understanding reality of Bittersweet is the next step after your live in Evalas....But Source!Finn is alive in Evalas.

So what's Withered!Finn? An echo. Pieces of Source!Finn that he leaves behind after his visits.

So it's just that? A ghost? That's all you have?

NO!

I might not know what is going on, but i know that souls hold some kind of power in this universe (unless that has been retconned ) And Withered!Finn is definitely doing something with them.

In Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs, Charles and Anna encounter a fetch pretending to be a preschooler named Amethyst. Charles recites a riddle and the fetch answers "A fetch! A fetch! A fetch!"

and turns into a group of twigs in the shape of a girl tied with ribbon!

In case i'm not making myself clear enough. Withered!Finn is an gastly echo, apparition of a Source!Finn in a place where the souls go to start again made of vines roots and sticks hold together in a shape of human by his sluttly litte vest!

Alright, so, I’ve been thinking about this for quite awhile, so I’ll just get this off my chest and lay it to rest-

So awhile ago, I was listening to that latest Y!Finn audio (again, and out of boredom lol) where we try to get the truth out of him (in a very.. interesting way lmao), and in the beginning he had this dream about..a rabbit (He talked in his sleep and basically he said something along the lines of “Come little rabbit, don’t be scared, I just wanna talk.”).

At first I wasn’t really paying attention to that line, but then later on it got me thinking..

Do you guys think that he was (maybe) dreaming about trying to get his hands on Bunny!Finn? Like, was he chasing him down or something and was he trying to assure him that he (Bunny!Finn) shouldn’t be scared and that Y!Finn just wants to ‘talk’ to him??

(I like to think that he was probably trying to take Bunny!Finn down, and that he is planning to do that to the other Finns as well, so that he’s the only Finn left 👀)

Sugarboo is helpful as an adult because they were shamed for not doing enough as a kid.

They went to see Seth that night because they wanted the full story so that they could find out how to help, if something needs done around the house SB is on it, the town needs volunteers to help clean the streets or smth? First one there

All of this because when they were a child nothing they did was ever enough, they helped around the house (sweeping, doing all the dishes, cleaning windows, laundry, etc) still their parent/parents found something to complain about. Was like a parent to their siblings because the people that were meant to take care of them never did, yet still

"you kids are too loud!"

"what do you want now can't you see I'm busy?!"

"Stop that crying! Honestly all you do is complain!"

They did everything in that house whilst trying their best academically yet it was never enough, so now they're stuck in this cycle of trying to prove themself as helpful and believing they're never doing enough.

What the fuck is happening my gang (no like literally, what the fuck is happening I watched bittersweet last week and found Yuuri a week before that, I need explanations)

I've been taking time to figure out what a character entry in the soon to be YuuriVoice Wiki would contain, and have started with writing out the various bits and pieces for Alphonse as a reference for future entries.

I've written what I feel is probably the exact wording of what I've tried to express every time we've had someone not understand the nature of the BitterSweet Trio's relationship.

"During the course of BitterSweet, Alphonse and Boo share that same unconditional love with Seth, hoping to nurture the parts of him that have weathered away with time and trauma. Their love is explicitly undefined, so that listeners can interpret the relationship dynamic as best suits them, as the trio represents no one specific type of love, but rather the healing of unconditional love. For some that may be best experienced romantically, and others may prefer it to be platonically, or as found family.

The beauty of it is that there is no incorrect interpretation, and every possibility is equally valid. This medium of self insert audio content allows for a collaborative fantasy between creator and listener, and is a strength unto itself."

Stuff like this is ultimately why I think there's a ton of untapped value in having a creator run wiki, because I'm able to express myself fairly well through written word opposed to spoken. Having a concrete reference to recurring topics should, in theory, be a wonderful resource for the fandom.

Finally got around to watching Bittersweet, and I've slowly been going through pretty much all of yuurivoice's original content. I'm just going to put some thoughts and theories here for posterity before Echoes and Shattered come out.

Generally speaking, I prefer to take a 'we'll know when we know' approach to these things, this is more about making possible connections.

So, the chapter 3 interlude. I think Finneas fucked with the dream Withered!Finn is native to somehow. He talks about 'tasting the comfort and peace' of the dream despite it being forbidden, and that not being meddlesome would require him to 'forsake all the love in his heart'. Withered!Finn seems to be aware of the multiverse, and is either trying to or is capable of travelling between worlds. We know from the Shattered teaser that he has beef with Finneas- and in one audio (i can't remember which unfortunately) he mentions something like Orchid being stolen from him. I'm connecting this to a moment in 'garden variety' Finn's Yule audio where he gets momentarily ooc about people not wanting peace 'getting out of his way'.

I think Finneas either took Withered!Finn's place in the latter's dream, or otherwise seperated him from Orchid. I think Orchid might be the dreamer of the Steward Finneas mentions- since it seems like the dreams are some sort of afterlife, and Finn mentions them being on opposite sides. It begs the question of what could motivate Finneas to meddle where he clearly knows he shouldn't.

I think either Withered!Finn was already Like That in his native dream, and Finneas intervened to save Orchid from him- if Orchid was someone who mattered to Finneas in their past life, it would explain why he would intervene in that instance- and why not being meddlesome would require him to 'forsake all the love in his heart'. Alternatively, Finneas took Withered!Finn's place out of pure selfishness, which is why Withered!Finn is Like That- yuuri mentioned in a Tumblr ask that Withered!Finn's pursuit of Orchid was a point of conception for him. The former explanation makes more sense to me given what we know about Finneas' character rn, but the latter would be more interesting from a moral/story standpoint- a wholly selfish act of an otherwise selfless man. Finneas has been described as morally complex iirc.

None of this explains why Finneas' felt the need to intervene in the events of Bittersweet- but I don't think we can know that until Echoes comes out and we know what the Bittersweet trio's deal was in Evalas. I will say that I find Finneas referring to Alphonse as his 'enemy' curious- I think that term is implying more than just 'you would really like to kick my ass rn'. It makes me wonder if the Bittersweet trio are going to be an antagonistic force in Echoes- we know they'll be present in that series, but there's been absolutely nothing else about them, when we even have character designs for some of the other characters. That makes me think their design/details are inherently spoiler-y somehow.

Holy shit that's a lot of rambling/baseless speculation. Idk, I find yuuri's work super impressive in how much is implied, not just through what is said, but how it is said. And dissecting word choices and narrative decisions has always been my bag. I've had a lot of fun not just listening to the audios, but thinking about how various seemingly random details might interconnect. I cannot fucking wait for Echoes and Shattered to come out.

Charlie finding a bloody and bruised Auron taking him to the hospital. The nurses asking if there’s anyone like family or something that they can call and Charlie looks at Auron’s contact information and he just sees

But then again Auron is a big muscle man  it would not be easy soooooo maybe someone else?

Stars Fading But I Linger

Auron has been referred to as a “dreamer of dreams.” He has a passion for writing and creating stories. However, the Auron we know now is jaded and unmoved (or at least that’s the impression he wants to give off.) “Life has not been fair to any. Fairness is a dream conjured up by those naïve enough to believe we live in a world where things don’t have to be taken if you want them.” He rose to his current position through ambition and holds high standards for himself and those he surrounds himself with. This height of hubris may give us clues to where this character came from and where he's going.

Auron is associated with tower imagery. The most obvious is the large painting of a tower behind his desk, as seen in the Holiday Party episode. However, there are other mentions and hints of towers as well. Auron’s office appears to be high above the city, mimicking the lofty space. His listener is referred to as “Rook,” short for rookie. The rook chess piece resembles a tower. After their argument, Faust muses “I wonder, brother, from your ivory tower can you see anything down here? You’re so out of touch.” 

Around the world, tower’s are symbols of hope and promise. They signify wealth and act as waypoints as well. However in media, towers can evoke a sense of isolation, loneliness, and foreboding. They may also represent the hubris and ego of a character or group of characters. The tower card in tarot holds the meaning of “sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation, awakening,” as well as “unforeseen catastrophe.” (Also of note: The tower card immediately follows the devil in the major arcana. The devil is associated with “shadow self, attachment, addiction, restriction, sexuality,” in addition to “disruptive revelation.” This may tie into Faust’s “deal with the devil” that gets references a few times. Thought that was neat.)

Auron's entire operation is beginning to show cracks. His head of talent has been fired after several failed ventures, and both Derek and Jessie threaten the power he holds over his illegal activities. On top of that, Auron has closed himself off, an example of which is distancing himself from his coworkers during social gatherings. He is just now beginning to open up to Rook. Auron's cool veneer slips after a brief argument with his brother. He admits he has a habit of indulging in temptation behind closed doors, and during the ride home from dinner with Rook he states “I would choose me over everything else.”

These story beats parallel Source Finn’s struggles and current state of mind. Finn is overworked and under scrutiny by the highest power in his realm. He keeps himself busy with his duties as a steward, remaining isolated in his tower to continue his work. After he begins meddling with the Dreamers—an act which he reprimanded his partner for long ago—he can’t stop himself. Left to his own devices, Finn persists. Both are avoiding close relationships, and both became involved in the Bittersweet trio's unexpected Christmas roadtrip.

We can even take a step further into speculation territory. All of this can be used to make the argument that Auron has a strong connection to Finn and the magics he has been experimenting with; if not the Auron in the story at present, then a Source Auron prior to passing on to the world Bittersweet take’s place. He could have been responsible for creating or first discovering the garden of dreams that Finn continues to tend to. This would give greater gravity to him being a "dreamer of dreams" that created worlds with second chances. However, the responsibility or the effects of indulgence became too much, and eventually he became a dreamer himself. Maybe he was Finn’s predecessor, or maybe he was that fellow steward that worked alongside Finn, and all that remains now are unconscious memories of lost dreams and a tower that foreshadows inner and external turmoil.

I know I should be sleeping right now, it is like 3 am in the morning here, but my mind really wants some of the YuuriVoice Finn and Charlie again, I have been re-listening 3 or 4 times now since I first landed to the fandom, and man my theory head is working around with the possible storylines can go after what is been offered so far. Like I know there will soon be a sneak peek at Echos and the other series are currently somewhat on hold for now since Yuri is finishing some parts of Echos. But man I can't wait for sure. Like thoughts are in like what is the timeline of events or the what not. I been reading too much of headcanons of the other users here on Tumblr. It is really good food man. I hope what is going to be next is another good stuff like what happens on Bittersweet or what the heck is going on with Source!Finn. (And hello I am bit of a new fan here, so I guess welcome to my post I guess?)

My breakdown and my thoughts on the ending of Bittersweet Chapter 3. (PART 2)

Ok so we get the story so far, Jessie kills Derek and takes his spot. And once the trio gets there I bet 100% she was not expecting it. You can just tell by how she wasn't too eager to turn around, even when Seth was demanding it.

"It's just ketchup, Seth! I promise!"

I just love the look of pure relief Seth is giving knowing that his mom is ok, to the sudden horror of knowing what she did.

And tbh I think she did this not only to get revenge on Derek for hurting her son, but maybe her thoughts were.

'If I get rid of the person tormenting my son and who he loves, maybe he can forgive me for what I did to him.'

Idk and I have no idea what is gonna happen to Jesse. Either she's staying there or going back with the boys cause she's on the run or something.

But I doubt she's on the run because she has Auron in her corner, but if she does go back with the trio then it could allow more time for her and Seth to try and fix their bond.

Then if she does go, it might be hard cause of Auron. Cause he said that Jesse can do a better job then half of his goons singlehandedly.

And this is what I mean when I said that Auron probably tortured him.

HE FUCKING JESUS HIS HANDS TO THE DESK. When I first saw Derek's dead body nailed to the desk, it made me scared of Auron.

I think Mark got off easy.

Then we have Finn and when I saw him in the back I was like 'Why the fuck are you here bro!?

And you can just tell that Finn doesn't like Auron just by the look he's giving him.

Then you can see the shock of 'Oh shit!' When he spots the book.

Speaking of

MY MOUTH DROPPED TO THE FLOOR.

Derek knows about Finn and the other world. And my only conclusion was that when he died and then got resuscitated.

Once he died he saw Finn and the power he had over this world. Or Finn saw what happened to Derek and decided to give him another chance by turning back the clock.

From what I gathered from Derek was that he is a man obsessed with power and enjoyed having control over other people.

So by seeing Finn and all the power he has over this world, we can understand why he talks so much about death and power.

Thus leading to my questions on Finn.

I can go on about Finn and I know that within time (HA) we will get more answers about his world and his powers.

But I can't help but wonder why is he in Bittersweet and Why is he so obsessed with the trio.

My guess and this guess may sound crazy, but what if Finn's predecessor was Alphonse and not Faust as we have all been theorizing? To me, that would only make sense why he's obsessed.

But again idk.

Then we have this last shot of Auron looking into his reflection. Seeing the man he has become and broken away from the dreamer self that he was.

The ending gave me an eerie feeling because of the clique feeling of being watched when there's no one there, and the sound of the glass creaking and giving away.

Also, the cracks of the glass remind me of the crack marks of the Promo we got when Chapter 3 was about to start.

Then we have Shattered

Which I'm pretty sure will be mostly about Auron and his story. I'm pretty excited for shattered because hopefully, we'll get more backstory with Auron and why he is like he is.

Tbh Auron reminds me of Gus Fring from breaking bad.

Anyhoo, I'm ready for 2023 and excited for the next chapter of Bittersweet and the Beginning of Shattered.

Jessie mentioned Charlie was ‘a good note-taker, don’t know why he didn’t stay in school’ and the dude’s a literal con artist, he’s gotta have some smarts for that… yet he still dropped out and got tangled up with Derek’s gang. Not to mention the unexplained shit he pulled when he outed Seth and Al to the gang despite probably knowing it wouldn’t do anything except lose the only two people he somewhat got close to.

So we’re laying in bed thinking, and a thought comes to us. If Storyteller Finn or sorcerer Finn, source Finn? whatever they call him. dies, would his listener take over once that’s happened? i mean they’re close to him enough to have been thought the ways to look over. so if that is the case, dose that mean, Finn no matter the au, has the same listener? meaning they missed him so much they broke the rules to go visit someone they loved dearly? you’re welcome for this. 

re watched it, so i could post this, and like, is jack dead? was jack the last storyteller? what’s happened in there, also did, did finn date his ex twice, once as the storyteller and once as a dreamer, and in both he’s befrended jack, we have so mnay qusetions.
