I wanted to draw a different pose with “Altair Raiment” but I don’t think I’d have enough time to get these out before the event ends 😭 Pardon me for being lazy 😭

Vega (pink) is a star represented by Orihime while Altair (blue/original) is represented by Hikoboshi. Since the event is inspired by Tanabata I thought making two different color schemes would be nice and dubbed them as such.

If there’s an opportunity to make alt. pink/blue color palettes there’s a 99% chance I’d make them for Strix.

He’s finally here! This is just a reference sheet for the bio but I’ll post more art of him with Strix and the boys. Hope you guys like him!

I designed him around a cat and key theme with a purple, black, gray, white and gold color scheme just like NRC. Coincidentally, these are similar to the non-binary flag. It can be a headcanon that Yuu is non-binary/gender-neutral as the game implied Yuu (MC) to be, since he is also said to look like a girl but is not self-conscious about it.

I made his clothes with a subtle Japanese culture behind it since Yuu is a Japanese name. They’re also somewhat based off the ceremony robes. Crowley once said Yuu could be the mascot of the school as a joke(?).

Personality

A witty and playful boy ranging in several faults such as: acting lazy, height complex, and being particularly gullible. However despite these traits, Yuu is extremely loyal, honest, and particularly keen in numerous situations. The designated therapist of the group and pretty much the one who carries the brain cell most of the time.

Ironic to his appearance, he is a huge otaku and can be pretty nerdy with his vocabulary, flinging references that fly over the boys’ heads.

Speaking of appearances, Yuu sometimes gets mistaken for a girl at first glance from a certain angle. If you squint there are feminine traits. Or maybe that’s the baby-face (looks like a 13 year old than 16) but still.

Yuu shows to get quickly accustomed to his surroundings in a short time. (The reason behind this is unknown.) I mean, not even a week of school has ended and Heartslabyul got an Overblot incident. The canon timeline didn’t give MC a break. Yuu has patience, but that doesn’t mean he lets stupidity slide. How many times does he have to shatter kneecaps to prove that?

History

In his original world, Yuu was said to have worked as a manga artist’s assistant and was in charge of filling areas with ink (aka betas). He was an artistic student who liked to work with wet media such as paint and ink and was remarked to have smelled (reeked) as such by some of the cast. Yuu was also in the photography club and used to be in charge of taking pics for school newspapers.

Yuu is an only child living alone while his parents worked overseas, taking care of household chores and overall being independent, as ironic as he can be lazy at times. He is said to be reliable by many and has charisma, though he himself may not be aware of this.

About

After being appointed supervisor, Yuu was granted the Ramshackle key and key pouch from Crowley. The keys are magical in that it allows the soul to connect any door to the key’s corresponding domain to make traveling a lot more convenient. However, places that are not given permission to enter lock the user out (Yuu can’t randomly just enter someone’s bedroom without their consent). These keys also signify a bond with the dorms, so a key for the specific dorm magically appears in the pouch, which is also magical as well (it blocks jingling noises, how nice).

Name Trivia

Yatagami is combined from Yata no Kagami, a sacred mirror that’s part of the Imperial Regalia of Japan. It represents “wisdom” or “honesty” depending on the source. Its name literally means “The Eight Hand Mirror,” likely a reference to its width.

If strix and yuu have voice actors, who would it be?

(Note: I literally researched videos on YouTube on the fly when I saw this ask so these may not be definite and may change. I didn’t join the bandwagon until now bc I didn’t know who would be the voices 😓)

Strix’s voice would be mature/lower than your average Japanese female voice to accompany her sharp tongue. When flustered or shocked she can reach the slightly high feminine pitch. At times there would be a hint of subtle apathy behind it reflecting she still retains some of her old persona from her original world, though this would gradually be lost over her time in TW. I headcanon Rina Satō, who voices Makoto Niijima from Persona 5. I think it’s the closest to my ideal voice for Strix.

Yuu’s voice would be androgynous but lean slightly towards masculine side (reflecting the use of he/they pronouns). He’s expressive but not too extreme/overly passionate with his emotions. By default he’s generally diligent and takes his duties seriously, and is an obliviously charismatic presence in NRC. I’d like to imagine him having a soothing voice that makes him endearing for that reason. Atm I headcanon Daiki Yamashita who’s widely known as the seiyuu of Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia. His voice would be a little more reserved, slightly deeper, and soft spoken in comparison.

Random Yuu Yatagami (OC) HCs/trivia

Yuu was often pinched by the cheeks from older women in his home world (and still in TW) for how cute he is.

Yuu has no problem cross-dressing as a girl. He once had to cosplay in his original world for an anime convention. What, is left to your imagination.

Yuu is tone deaf. Does that stop him from going to karaoke and getting nonstop teasing for it? No.

Yuu gets nostalgic looking at Pomefiore’s uniform. The kimono and historic value behind it is just like his home.

Yuu is more of an oriental person who lived in a traditional Japanese house and wore kimonos. A bonafide Japanese man at heart.

Yuu has a sweet tooth and tends to snack more than he should. However, between him and Grim in the dorm, Yuu has to play the model figure and tries to not let his gullible side show. He fails half the time.

Yuu has a whole wardrobe of dark clothes and prefers them simple. Definitely has a black turtleneck is what I’m saying.

Yuu goes fishing for a moment of peace. He’s not the best at it like Ruggie, but he’s not the worst either.

Yuu sneezes like a kitten, much to his embarrassment. Ace was never going to let it up.

Yuu asks: Why the hell does Malleus wear high heels when he’s already 2 meters tall?? Is Tsunotarou never satisfied looking down (literally) on people?

It could be Yuu’s stressed brain, but he hears comical sound effects and beeping censorship noise over someone spewing profanities. They’re frequent in Savanaclaw.

It can be a running gag that Yuu is often hauled over the shoulder and under the arm whenever the taller boys drag him somewhere. At some point Yuu embraces this as a mode of transportation instead of a challenge to his height complex.

Yuu may or may not have blackmail photos for sale.

Yuu attracts a lot of female customers in his ceremony robes (since it’s revealed to be popular with women) for how well the outfit suits him. Crowley wasn’t kidding when he said Yuu could be the school’s mascot. Yuu took a lot of pics as per request that day. Isn’t he a ladies’ man. 😏

If Yuu was given a smartphone, he’d confuse the hell out of TW with memes from his home world. Hell, he would recreate every internet meme he knows into TW.

Yuu doesn’t do selfies. He always takes pics of others but never himself. If Cater ropes him in for a group selfie he doesn’t mind but don’t expect the boy to do it willingly by himself like Cater would.

I imagine Yuu’s voice would be boyish. Not too girly but not too masculine. A CV/seiyuu I’m thinking atm is Hiro Shimono.

Yuu’s favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream.

Will yuu have his own fanfition?

Oooh, I’ve actually been thinking of this for a while. I’m happy to hear someone actually likes him enough for a fanfiction 😊 (even though I scarcely draw him oof I’m so sorry Yuu 😭 I miss drawing my boy)

Since I’m already using Strix for the main story, I was thinking of using my Yuu for an alternate piece called “Piece of My World”. (Twst’s theme song title)

Synopsis:

Through the looking glass mirror lies an alternate parallel universe where Yuu continues being the handyman of NRC and doesn't officially become a student.

This is the narrative of Yuu's life as NRC's beloved and reliable handyman everyone comes to adore. (Yuu X Various)

This would follow the plot loosely but is mostly written for giggles and character interaction. Idk if this counts as an AU? It’s the kind of fic where Yuu has his reverse harem lol. Some things have changed since I posted his bio (can be found in Yuu Yatagami tags) and I’ve decided to make this Yuu more of the alternate MC route instead.

Imagine...this cute little androgynous boy with magic keys being your local handyman/janitor/photographer/mascot/etc. of NRC in the area but never actually attending class like a normal high school kid. The boys would want to get to know him sooner or later, and eventually the whole school would know him and even grow protective of him. He may have his episodes of harassment in the beginning, but he’s determined to get by, and that’s when his charisma and charm as a magic-less human starts to soften their impression of him. He can be oblivious when some of the twst boys make their advances though...

For those who don’t know my Yuu Yatagami and haven’t seen his “sprite” designs here he is. (Left is his school uniform to blend in with the students when he’s a photographer using the ghost camera and right is his “mascot” uniform as dubbed by Crowley. They’re too formal to be a handyman’s.) He’d have more outfits as a handyman but I have these for now.

But I can’t say I’ll officially publish his own story in the near future. Maybe as a side thing to relieve stress or get me out of writer’s block, but never a fic to commit to like I am with Strix’s atm. So take this as a concept of sorts. I could do posts about this and make it a series here instead of writing it out if time and motivation allows it, but we’ll see how that goes.

I’m thinking of introducing a new OC every time I reach another hundred more followers. Idk it just seems nice. I have at least 7 (seven) twst OC drafts but never really have a solid design or story to them. Just a “I bet no one has done this character yet” spur of the moment.

From the beginning, it was Strix. In the hundreds, there’s Yuu Yatagami. Both of them are created purely out of my free will. But if I reach 200, I might bring another home to celebrate. This blog is devoted to my OCs after all, and I’m happy the reception with Strix and Yuu (even though he’s only been out for a few hours by the time I post this) so far is nice. I’ve been in the OC biz since 2015 but never get to publish their designs publicly (I do fanfiction instead). They’re just sitting in my files untouched (oof).

This is more of an announcement than hearing everyone’s opinions (cuz chances are I’ll likely do it anyway) but I’ll be even more motivated. The dorms my future OCs will arrive are in no order, and I might even do a faculty staff instead of a student. It would be a long way though if we want to see a whole collection of OCs from each dorm come to life in my art style. Then again I only release OCs when I have a concrete layout for them (I take it seriously; honestly I don’t half-ass OCs cuz I love to make them like my own children), so I may fall back on this (I’m very finicky like that).
