Baek ILY you came with a whole ass Powerpoint presentation on Ateez's lack of good photos <3333 I feel like I'm nitpicking sometimes, but I genuinely care about the pictures especially if I'm buying albums. I bought so many from artists I don't stan because of the photobooks. TXT for example, I bought two of their albums before I even got into them, because WOW same with NCT. And they don't even need to try that hard, like I said before: some of the pics members post on SNS are much better, wtf??? Now onto the album, yeah it's like Movement and I feel the same about it, except Outlaw doesn't have Cyberpunk <3 each song has cool parts, but they blend together too much. Can't even tell which one is my fave honestly, I still cannot distinguish all of them based on the verses. I haven't listened to the album a ton, because I didn't have time also the album is kinda an assualt on my senses 😭. Coming from me - noise music lover, lmao. Bouncy grew on me, it's catchy, I'd rather if Ateez gave me something else, but it's the only track that's different

Yuta is making a celebrety out of himself in Japan. TV-series, magazine covers, collabs with j-rockers, promotion of his solo album with signing events, the release of his photobook. When WayV promotes in Korea, they sing in Korean, not Chinese. As well as other non-Korean k-pop artists. They are introduced as a global group. Yuta's album is in Japanese.

He is too honest for Korean TV to become a variety personality, plus it is no secret half of the population hates Japanese who occupied Korea for 35 years historically not long ago. There is little space for Japanese on TV, SK is a very nationalistic country. Korea for Koreans.

Yuta goes to Korean shows when it's time to advertise a comeback, as every other neo does. He was sent to MC on music shows.

Will Yuta promote more in Korea with his second album? Or in Spring with his first? Perhaps. Yes, he is a part of a k-pop group, however, Taeyong didn't attend Japanese TV-shows during "Shalala". It takes time to build up a solo career, there are stages to it. Koreans don't go and try to win hearts in Japan right after their debut.

Doyoung is on a Japanese tv-show not because he learnt some Japanese. It's because it makes sense to further develop his recognition there, given he was already used for a TV-series, did an OST, can sing several Japanese songs (like Snow flower or La La La Love song), his concerts sold out, the live from the concert was streamed on TV, he MCed for Inkigayo in Tokyo, etc.

Koreans go to Japan, learn the language, release special EPs to win over the musical market there because their own is much smaller. And here fans are complaining a Japanese doesn't spend time on winning over the Korean market during the start of his solo career just because they think it is a form of neglect. Who will give Yuta new tv-roles? Japan or SK? What musicians are ready to advertise him? J-rockers or Korean trot singers? Is there a point in appearing with a j-rock album on pop idol shows? Or maybe better sing at a rock festival held in Korea later into the career?

Anyway, the little coverage of Yuta's album on socmed aside, right now the focus is on Japan. He needs to get experience with performing solo, building of the identity, recognition of his name, solidify his core fanbase (who will stay with him as a rocker), and only later expand. Just a couple of months has passed since he started his solo promotion.

I really don't believe that something or someone could motivate you because in the end, the decision is all yours. Personally, I don't get motivated with some qoutes, pictures or inspirational stories. Not that I don't believe them, but because I know we have different perspectives and experiences in life. One thing may work for the other but not on you.

Now I don't really have the motivation to do my homeworks these days even though we already had a 2-week break not until earlier. When my album arrived I was really excited 'coz it's my first album and strange enough, after looking at some pages of the photobook, I got the motivation to do my homework. Hopefully I can finish it today ('coz the deadline is on 28th and I still have to study on other subjects too TT^TT).

Anyways, I pulled Johnny and Yuta pc! I was hoping for my bias tho (Taeyong, Jaemin, Xiaojun, Johnny) but I still got Johnny so it's fine 😊 Honestly I had a gut feel that I'll have a Mark pc don't know why. Any college nctzen out there?

Summer! because I like mountains and sea, I like summer where I can take walk and play in the sea. Since I was a kid, every year I definitely went playing in the sea.

Q. Favorite foods?

Meat, fish, I like everything, but my favorite as expected is takoyaki. because I'm from Osaka, I like okonomiyaki and sauce and I eat it often. In addition, I also take protein well to build my body.

Q. Foods you don't like?

Shiitake mushroom— ah, I also don't like bell pepper (laugh)

In the past, I like potato chips and snacks, but recently I like chocolate and sweets. And it's been awhile I ate 'Shiroi Koibito’, it's so delicious~! (p.s: shiroi koibito is a European-style cookie which is manufactured and sold in Japan)

My feelings for music. For me, music is a thing where I can find different sides of me. Because NCT 127’s concept is changed depending on the music, I can meet new sides of me, “I also had this side in myself.” Music is like the general feeling of life.

Actually I cry pretty soon… (laugh). I like anime so I watch it often, but when I feel moved by a scenes, I empathy with it and I cried right away.

Q. Your hobby?

Recently, listening to music and watching movies. I always listen to music in my free time at work. I check out popular songs as well as wide range of genres like ballad, rock, hip-hop, R&B. Johnny and Mark are often listening to Western music and recommended it to me. I also exchanging informations with members!

Q. What you usually do that you feel the happiest?

I felt this last time when I went on Kyoto trip with my family. There was a restaurant where I can eat nagashi soumen (flowing noodles), it was fun! Then all members make one thing, and they feel happy as they get closer to completion. It’s the most fun when it’s starting to take shape!

Q. Favorite place to relax?

I think it’s dorm. Now I’m in the same room with Taeil hyung and Winwin. I’m spending time with interfering Winwin (laugh). I have a lot of time with the members even in the dorm. By the way in our dorm, it’s a rule that we have to clean the room, wash the dishes, and take out the garbage in pairs once a week (laugh).

Q. Things you must do before sleep?

Because I’m sensitive to sound, before sleep, I definitely wear eye mask and I’m sleeping listening to classical music. Then I can sleep while being relax.

Q. Things you must do after wake up in the morning?

Recently, I drink green juice! Because I don’t really like vegetables that I think I have to take care of my health, so I try to drink it every day.　It’s easy to drink because it’s powder!

Q. Is there any surprising things when you come back to Japan?

I thought it would be nice to have a lot of toilets (laugh). In Korea too of course there’s toilet, but there’s none in convenience store. Then, because I like coffee, when I come back to Japan, it took me awhile to find coffee shop. There’s so many cafes in Korea.

Q. New Korean word that you learned recently?

Korean… I wonder if there’s any? I never learned this, but there are some things that are convenient to remember! The first things I learned when I come to Korea were “bap juseyo (please give me some foods)” and “hwajangshil odieyo? (where’s the toilet)”. I think if you remember these two things, they’ll be useful in Korea (laugh).

Q. Do you look like your father? Or mother?

My face probably looks like my mother. I think my personality is like my father!? I guess it’s the sense of responsibility.... Ah I said it myself (laugh). I think rather than saying similar it would be better if I could become such a person. Because I respect my father.

Q. A word that you would be glad if a girl told you?

“You’re manly”

Q. Foods you want girls to cook for you?

I want them to make lunch box. I’d be glad if they make it when we go on picnic together. The side dish is octopus wiener!!

Q. Girl’s gesture or behavior that make your heart skipped a beat?

It’s cliche but... behavior of tying up hair makes my heart thump. Then, I like people with good voice because I like to listen to people’s voice.

Q. How do you get over when you feel down?

Q. A song you will recommend to people who haven’t listened to NCT 127?

I like all the Japanese songs, but the best recommendation is Cherry Bomb. I think it would be nice if you see it with the performance. From the last point of falling down to the point where the members become V-shape with the legs spread, I would like you to pay attention to it!

✦ my first bias: technically, probably mark because he was the first nct member i learned about, but it quickly became taeyong after i actually started getting into nct, and taeyong was my bias for the first three or so months of being an nctzen!

✦ my current bias(es): haechan! he is my ult, i love him so very much. probably slightly too parasocially attached to him but i'm not going to worry about it lol...

✦ my album and/or era ranking (or favorite of each): 127 has so many albums, and i decided to write my reasoning behind each one...bear with me... from favorite to least favorite:

Cherry Bomb: this is a masterpiece of an album. Cherry Bomb is SUCH a good song, the music video has that artistic scrappy Neo identity, the styling is so cool in my opinion, and the album is full of great songs. When i think of nct 127 this the era i think of.

We Are Superhuman: okay, i just personally love this album. Superhuman was what made me an nctzen. I feel so fond of it, it's my baby. Superhuman and Highway to Heaven are such feel-good songs! And I love the concept/styling/photobook.

Limitless: Limitless is a song that's really grown on me recently. The "Rough vers. MV" was truly ahead of its time. The styling was... questionable lol. Poor haechan's hair! But this album also gave me Back 2 U, which is maybe the best 127 b-side ever.

Regulate (Simon Says): I love Simon Says, it was another early favorite of mine in my baby nctzen days. The styling for this mv was immaculate, I still dream about yuta's grey plaid skirt thing and the vans shoelaces tied around the ankles.

Loveholic (Gimme Gimme): Maybe it's because I got into nct in this era, but loveholic is really special to me. The concepts for the photobook really speak to me (especially the rain one, but i also find the bright green and orange color scheme of the album cover sooo satisfying) and 'right now', the last song on the album, is my ultimate favorite 127 b-side, i almost feel a little possessive over it >.< the gimme gimme mv was a little lacking but i like the song itself!

Chain: the chain music video!! omg. Also the b-sides dreaming and 100 are such hidden gems. I also really vibed with the styling (shout out to the stylists for giving taeil that sexy haircut lol). 127's japanese releases hit different for me.

Neo Zone: I mean... neo zone is iconic. i feel like i should love it more than i do? kick it is a banger, the mv is soooo well executed, i love mullet hyuck and mark's stripey hair, i love the concept and outfits, and the photobook is crammed full of really cute photos... but there's something about it that i don't feel as nostalgic or lovey about compared to the albums i ranked above it. i think most of the b-sides feel slightly bland to me? and sometimes i feel like neo zone was a little too perfected, like it lacks some of that original 127 crunchy absurdity.

Neo Zone: The Final Round (Punch): I actually am fond of Punch, she's underrated imo. there's something about that song that i find really satisfying. the styling isn't anything to write home about, but it works well in the context of the concept.

Regular-Irregular: Confession...I don't really like Regular *winces*. i'm too anti-capitalist for it lol! but that said, the music video is delicious. And the song itself is really catchy... if i look past the lyrics. although... maybe the lyrics are supposed to provide a negative commentary on our money-obsessed culture?? are they that deep?? i'll have to think about this...

Sticker: When this album came out i remember liking it a lot. But as time has gone on, it's gotten more boring for me. The song and music video weren't bad objectively, but i feel like it marked a significant shift in 127's artistic voice, a change i didn't really want... although shout out to the seoul city version of the photobook, which i still think is gorgeoussssss

Awaken: I cannot get through Wakey-wakey. it is SO grating to my years lol. however! i am obsessed with ‘end-to-start’, the outro song of the album. i get chills every time mark says “the origin will begin”. i’m also giving it bonus points because i like the way haechan was styled :P

2 Baddies: The biggest reason why this album is so low is that i really don’t like most of the songs on the album. For the title track, the song and mv aren’t terrible. i like that it’s playful, i really enjoy jaehyun’s rap, and the styling is really cool! but... idk, there’s just something about the whole thing that makes me disappointed, like i feel like it had potential to be better.

Favorite: oh lord... its only saving graces for me are: the catharsis photoshoot, the cool forest set that taeyong and mark rap in in the mv, haechan singing ‘your love, your love’ in the outro, and love on the floor being one of my top guilty pleasure songs. The rest was just not it for me.

Fire Truck: hey, i guess ranking their debut album last means they’ve come a long ways?? I don’t really care for any of the songs on this album. the fire truck music video was... interesting... i do love the styling (i might be the only one who does, but i actually sincerely do!), and i like the choreography, but that’s about it.

✦ how i got into them: at the time i was really into shinee, and i remember watching this mashup and i was blown away by superhuman, and that was the beginning! but i didn’t quite consider myself an nctzen then. i think a month or so later when i was leaving for an internship and i was really anxious, i started listening to all the 127 title tracks to help me feel strong and tough and i think that’s when i really formed an emotional connection to 127 itself and got to know the members better.

✦ which member would be my best friend: oh god, this is hard because i’d want to be friends with all of them! i think personality-wise, i’d probably get along the best with taeyong. i see a lot of myself in him.

✦ something i associate with them (or with a bias/any member): with 127 as a group: neon colors, leather fingerless gloves, messy hair, science fiction. with taeyong: fish, furiously scribbling in a notebook, the subway/metro. with haechan: falling asleep with your head on someone’s shoulder, scuffed favorite sneakers, lambs and baby goats, the concepts of soulmates and fate, the golden hour.

I feel like the pace of pre-comeback promotion is rather slow. Maybe SM stuff doesn't realise that photobook pictures is just advertisement for the hard albums, that they don't help to keep the exitement and the buzz in the fandom. Something concept or lore related should be dropped every two days at least to keep the momentum going. It should be a continous ride with the whole fandom uniting over theories, guessing roles, meanings, how everything is connected. The fandom needs something fun to do, something to play with.

Hopefully, it's another time management problem, and in the future it will be corrected.

Now. I LOVE THE CONCEPT VIDEO! I'm so happy. Really. It's what I stan NCT for.

Lores are popular nowadays, every other group has them and films promo videos/movies. What makes NCT stand out to me is the fact that the group is connected with the fandom through the lore. It's not a story about some boys doing something, neos are here to unite everyone with music and wake up from sleep, inspire to pursue one's own dreams. I like this message. It's positive and giving. It lets to really share the journey with the group. They follow their dream of being musicians/performers, their fans also grow and follow their own paths, connected. Not to mention, I love sci-fi and multiple realities, imagination, fantasy, worlds - it's adventure and the feeling of freedom.

I expect from NCT "culture" and class. The content inbetween comebacks can be however silly or cheaply made, but the main body of the lore (the comeback related promos) should be like chapters in a book, a story to stay as legacy. That's why I'm satisfied SM delivered quality. SM is supposed to be the one to innovate and lead the way, afterall.

Jaehyun's voiceover is really good. He slurs words a bit, but overall he read well, like a professional.

The background music switching to classical music during Doyoung's part is highly appreciated. I like this new detail to his character (I think we can count it starting from Golden Age). It was Do who went into Seoul, dressed in a hoodie, taking on his imugi role.

Jungwoo switching realities/places, Yuta levitating things, Doyoung seeing through things was repeated again. Johnny's power is confusing, haha. It certainly not being a giant. Maybe it was about overseeing things, looking after a city (in Superhuman he was somehow tied to a city of skyscrapers as well).

I need a chess player to decifer what's happening with Jaehyun's part. He doesn't play for a player, he is on the side of the board, he intervenes in a game. Does he move a Queen? Is it a CheckMate?

Neos' world doesn't have "Seoul", and it shouldn't be another Dreamscape (like Neocity) either. Yet Taeyong "hacks into" the city. So perhaps it's a virtual Seoul, like aespa's world has.

All neos have gauntlets. Which, probably, hints at them staying fighters/fighting someone.

The only thing I didn't like was the animated Jaehyun. It wasn't difficult to film him on the stairs, so, hopefully, it should have some meaning to warrant the ugliness, aespa uses animation a lot, NCT haven't yet incorporated it fully except for the NCT2022 promos with neos running in cartoon rooms and on streets. I think Ten was animated. If it is so, then it was about crossing dream dimension with other rules/physics.

This promo video also fully introduces a new component - the golden light. Whatever it means.

NCTLab is represented with the yellow colour. The Lab was established to study dreams and learn how to change the reality. So mayhaps the golden light represent changes? Jaehyun materialised a whole building in Seoul.

My albums came!!!! I thought I pulled one random inclusion for each member, but now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t think I pulled any Jaehyun at all 🤔
