part 2 is hereeeee and this time it's what happened to eiko, asahi, yurika, riku and reina a few days before their crimes happened.

since these vds is the last thing i've planned for the period between trial 2 and trial 3, nothing too important to the plot will be posted until season 3 starts (again, not sure when it will happen). pls share your thoughts and theories if you have any <3

Eiko: What's going on..

Eiko: He wouldn't just leave me like this, right?

Eiko: He's the type of guy who's obsessed with social media, the only reason why he could disappear like this is-

Eiko: What if she found out about him?

Eiko: Maybe he knows something?

Yurika: "I wish I could just quit that job, my second one is good enough-"

Yurika: "I have to stay strong for Takame-san!"

Yurika: "Also.."

Yurika: "She lets me do anything I want to them, so.."

Yurika: A-anyway, sorry, I'm a bit busy. I have work, so..

???: By the way, you keep mentioning your job, but like..

???: Where do you even work?

Yurika: I bet she's just trying to find out more about me for her blog or whatever.

Yurika: But I'm not suspicious at all! I'm just a cute little girl on the way to working a totally normal job!

Riku: Okay, we're done for today, everybody! Good job today~

???: Finally, I was getting hungry..

???: Hey, Riku, is it just me or does your voice sound kinda weird?

Riku: Huh?

???: Like.. It's more quiet than usual?

Riku: Hm.. Well, my throat doesn't hurt or anything.

Riku: Eh, maybe it's the acoustics.

???: Okay.. Take care of yourself. You gotta.

???: We still have that one concert to prepare for too..

Riku: Haha, don't worry about me. I'm not going to let us down.

???: Fine, fine. I'll get going then.

Riku: Bye! I'll stay here to finish working on.. uh, something.

(sounds of everyone leaving)

Riku: *starts coughing*

Riku: "Maybe drinking so much cold water before our practice was a bad idea.."

(sounds of someone's footsteps)

Yue: Riku-kun!~

(Riku stops playing)

Yue: Ehehe~ Did today's practice go well?

Riku: .. Y-yeah.

Yue: Your voice sounds weird. Did you catch a cold?

Riku: "Again?.."

(Riku starts playing the guitar again)

Yue: Nope. That's not the one.

Riku: What do you mean?

Yue: This isn't the kind of songs you like. This is not.. "you", you know?

Yue: This is just the "you" that you came up with to make others like you.

Yue: This is the song that a popular guy who's loved by everyone in the school would play.

Yue: This isn't the song that my only friend would play.

Yue: Hm. Meanie.

Riku: I don't want others to ask me about it. Also, the practice is over anyway. I have to go home.

Riku: .. I guess I'd want it to be painful, but quick.

Yue: Oh, that's a new one!

Yue: I'm stronger than I look! I'll make it as quick and as painful as you desire!

Riku: Like.. Didn't we talk about it even back when we were kids too?

Yue: Right, right! Remember you got really sad after your mom told you that you have to stop being selfish and that you're too jealous of Hinode?

Riku: ...

Yue: And then I was like "Hey, what do you want to do?" and you were like "I don't know, dying sounds nice"!

Yue: And this happened when you were like.. eleven? Or twelve?

Yue: Like, you were a messed up kid, if you think about it!

Yue: Or more like.. a very broken one.

Riku: .. So..

Riku: If you could kill me..

Riku: How would you do it?

Yue: Simple.

Yue: I'd do it in a way that would let us both die at the same time.

Riku: .. So if you wanted to die..

Yue: Yep. I would never die without you.

Yue: That's why I'm still here. As long as you're alive, I'll stay alive too.

Yue: And I won't let you do anything to yourself either. We have to leave together. It's a promise.

Yue: So..

Yue: Do you want to try again?

Riku: ...

Riku: N-no, thanks. Not feeling like it today.

Yue: Oh, really? Not even doing the "death practice"?

Riku: .. What if somebody sees?

Yue: Come on, children won't come here at this time.

Yue: And if somebody asks, we can just use the "we tripped and fell" excuse.

Riku: Together? Like we fell at the same time?

Yue: They believe us every single time.

Riku: Sometimes I wonder if they really do believe us.

Yue: Maybe they just don't want to accept the truth. Who knows.

Riku: ".. So he's not going to die until I agree to die too.."

Riku: "This is going to be harder than I thought.."

Yue: So, are you ready?

Riku: .. Fine. You go first.

Yue: Of course. I always do.

(sounds of someone being beaten up)

???: Ugh, she's showing no reaction at all! So boring..

Reina: (her voice is noticeably deeper than usual) Enough. Let her go.

Reina: I thought this would be more fun.. What a disappointment.

Reina: (to the girl) Hey. Do you even want to live? Are you really okay with this?

Girl: ...

Girl: Don't know.

Reina: *sighs* Fine.

Reina: (to her friends) Why are you still standing here like a bunch of losers? I thought I've told you to let her go.

Her friends: On it, boss!

???: At least we've got the money..

???: But seriously, her eyes were so empty.

???: They looked kinda.. like yours, actually.

Reina: Wow, thanks for the compliment.

???: So, do you want to do anything else? Or are we done here?

Reina: .. I don't want to go home.

???: Because of your parents, right?

Reina: ...

???: Listen, I know we're supposed to be the bad guys and all, but like..

???: Neiro is worried about you.

???: Your parents suck, but that guy cares about you. Can you at least try coming home early for him?

???: Imagine if he finds out about what we do. He's not gonna like it.

Reina: !

(sounds of Reina punching the guy and him falling on the ground)

Reina: Don't even joke about it.

???: Okay, fine.. Seriously, sometimes I forget how strong you are.

???: But what if he does find out about it? What are you going to do?

Reina: ...

Reina: .. I'll run away.

Reina: How do you feel about living together?

???: What, like a couple?

Reina: You're not a cute girl, so I'll pass.

???: Damn, okay.. But like. My apartment is a mess.

Reina: My room's a mess too. We're matching.

???: Haha, fine~ I'll think about it.

Reina: Yay..

???: So, are you gonna go home now?

???: .. You know, from what you've told me, I doubt that your parents really hate you.

???: It's like, they came up with this perfect version of you in their heads and they don't like the real you, but they don't hate you.

Reina: Respectfully, shut up.

???: You know that it's true. That's why you're trying to shut me up.

Reina: God, you're so annoying.

Reina: If I ever meet someone like you or even worse, I'm going to..

???: Become best friends with them.

Reina: What-

???: You won't kill them. You won't even hurt them. You'll protect them with your life if you have to.

???: I know you too well.

Reina: ...

Reina: *laughs* You're right. You're right.

Reina: .. Fine. I'll get going.

???: Do you want me to walk you home?

Reina: They'll have questions. No, thank you.

Reina: Don't want them to think you're my boyfriend or anything. Dad will kill you and Mom will kill me.

spare some yurika thoughts in these trying times, kind sir?

Believe it or not, this one's a rarepair to me. I don't do a lot of thinking on their dynamic, because it's just kind of a settled thing in my head.

I think Monika from the outset is sorta wary of Yuri, because she finds it tough to really figure out what she's thinking, and she's a bit...off. To put it more bluntly, Yuri's autistic and socially awkward as hell and Monika's not quite sure how to respond to that. Sayori puts it as her being put off because she "can't take the lead", and I think that's fairly apt, but to put it another way, I think there's a kind of control that Monika is able to maintain when she has a conversation with someone which Yuri's entire demeanor breaks. It's hard to really elaborate on all of what I mean by that; Yuri tends to be fairly literal, but due to a combination of anxiety and general shyness, she tends to bury the lede on what her actual intent is most of the time when she says something, and a lot of very important context to what she's feeling and thinking goes unsaid, which makes it significantly harder to follow her thinking and know what to expect from her. This is all just illustrating more clearly to me that I need to finish collating all of my thoughts with regards to why I so strongly headcanon Yuri as autistic, but the bottom line of all of this is that if you don't actually get Yuri's vibe from the outset, it can be very difficult to follow along with her thought process and stay on the level with her. This provides a lot of difficulty for Monika, because she's frankly just uncertain what to make of it.

She can clearly see that Yuri is a very awkward and shy person, and as a consequence, she feels some deep sympathy for her and tries her hardest to make her feel included and make sure the club can be a good space for her to find joy in, but she also lacks the simple confidence that Sayori has in order to bridge the gap, at least at first. Do I think this might be emblematic of some other potential neurodivergent tendencies in Monika? Dunno, honestly. Haven't given too much thought to it. Still think about that moment of divine inspiration telling me Monika had a stutter as a kid....

Anyway, that's their starting impression. Well, at least, that's Monika's starting impression. I think Yuri has a decidedly different view of Monika, because despite herself, and despite all of what had been going on in Understanding up to that point, she found herself opening up to her completely when they had their conversation. That had a lot to do with the way Monika was able to frame their roles in that conversation, and I think that particular ability of communication (debate club rhetorical skills comin in clutch) is why the two of them are able to basically just click after that point.

I think it's those communication skills that Monika has that's able to really break Yuri's shell wide open and leads to her being more comfortable in general in the Literature Club. Sayori's the one who's really able to make it all work, but Monika's particular ability to recognize the way to frame the conversation to make Yuri comfortable, then to actually identify the problem, the solution, and the way to express that to Yuri, all while remaining on level with her and not talking down to her, really showcases the kind of person that Monika is, at her core, and the entire thing clearly makes a positive impact on Yuri.

Even besides the immediate results, Yuri makes it clear at this moment that she's glad she has someone like Monika who not only listens to her and provides meaningful, honest feedback, but does her best to make her feel comfortable and provide an open and safe space for this kind of dialogue. She says it herself--she's "really bad at this kind of critical thinking", and really appreciates having someone who's able to help her through this process. That sort of thing is typically easy for other people, so it's not something you'd typically ask for help with. It's probably embarrassing on a certain level to ask for help with. Yet with Monika, it happens naturally, and there's no shame in it at all.

Monika might not still perfectly understand Yuri or be able to follow her train of thought easily, but with this, she has more ground to actually work with, which makes it easier on her, and past this point, based on how things progress, I think it's clear that the kind of honest and easy communication that Yuri shared with Monika has led to her feeling more comfortable around her in general, and that's more and more true as time passes, I'd say. Monika just kinda has this way of talking to you that makes you feel like--whatever it is, whatever it's about, you feel included, and you feel safe speaking your mind. And I think that sort of thing, more than anything else, is something Yuri appreciates.

...Mm, I got a bit deeper into analysis there than I intended. I need to read back through the Side Stories and finish my thoughts on Yuri already, it's a new year, I ought to clear my slate. I also just kinda feel like it's been so long that I'm losing touch with the source material.

Anyway, I feel like Yuri and Monika just kinda vibe with each other. They're the kind of couple that are able to literally just sit in silence for hours without any problems. Yuri in general I feel like would prefer nonverbal expressions of love, so she'd probably tend towards little physical moments while sharing the same space, and she'd definitely leave a loooot of little love notes and gifts around. The kind of thing where she has a smile on her face the whole time preparing it, but makes sure she's not nearby whenever Monika would discover it, because that's entirely too embarrassing. Monika, of course, would chase her down anyway, because that's entirely too sweet not to kiss her for. She'd save every note, no question.

Monika's definitely leading a lot of the conversations here, and that involves a lot of idler conversation and just saying stuff that comes to mind, with a whole lot of Yuri's responses being exceptionally simple, or straight up just little hums. "Mhm." "Hm." "Oh, huh." There are, however, of course, moments where Yuri can't help but go on a tangent about how this underrated side character from a new series she's been reading is finally getting her own spin-off and they're finally exploring the history of the far-off little known kingdom she's from which is based on East Asia and it's really interesting because the author references a lot of little details from real world history interspersed with a little flavor about how the magic system changed it and she's been keeping track of every little detail about the kingdom up to now and finally they get to see all of how it is and she's so hyped about it--and the entire time Monika is just smiling and nodding, giggling a little bit, not necessarily at the actual subject matter, but more of how adorable Yuri looks when she's infodumping about things she likes.

I might have more thoughts as time progresses, but yknow. Like I said, I really need to reread over the Side Stories....[STAY TUNED!], [BIG SHOT].

I think episode 8 of Yuri Kuma Arashi is kind of the perfect example of the issues I’m having with this show. Because on the surface, all the symbolism and commentary are spot fucking on.

I’ve danced around it a bit in my posts, but to me, YKA is very clearly commenting on the “pure yuri” genre, as it’s sometimes known. To simplify for time, it’s a certain attitude that goes into writing yuri stories where the girls are shut off from the real world. They don’t read like actual lesbians living full lives, they come off as porcelain dolls kept safe and pristine in their little doll houses. It’s an infantilizing strain of writing that doesn’t really care about portraying queer experiences as much as it cares about selling fluffy fantasies of surface-level cute gayness, separated from the reality of what it actually means to be gay in today’s world.

To be clear, I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with queer escapist fantasy like that. God knows us LGBTQs could use a few perfectly happy stories where we don’t have to think about how much the real world sucks for us. But there’s a certain point where it feels like a lot of yuri stories aren’t written to actually speak to a genuine lesbian experience, but just to present a safe, non-threatening plastic approximation of it to make it more palatable to hetero consumers. Trapping queerness in an unbreakable bubble where it can play out in harmless separation from the real world, a greenhouse full of beautiful flowers that can’t survive outside its walls. No need to think about gay people’s place in “normal” society, either from the perspective of a gay person trying to navigate it or a straight person trying to understand and empathize with their struggles. And I say this as someone who’s loved plenty of fluffy yuri stories: it’s not healthy for so much of the genre to be dominated by that stuff.

So theoretically, I should be really receptive to what YKA is doing. A vicious deconstruction of the harmful expectations that the pure yuri genre places on actual queer people? How it boxes in their experiences and stunts their humanity by reducing it to a harmless, commodified product? With a main villain who was explicitly broken by being locked one such box until she began to see herself as filthy for every minor misstep and grew obsessed with trapping all girls like her in those boxes too, scared the world wold break them as badly as it broke her? I should be so on board for that. That’s exactly the kind of commentary I should be foaming at the mouth over.

The problem is that the show serving that commentary just isn’t very interesting on its own terms.

Like, do I understand the point of Yurika’s role as antagonist? Sure. Do I get the importance of the metaphors that drive Kureha to try and kill Ginko? Absolutely. Do either of those things make me care about them on a deep, personal level? No. Because the sad truth it, these characters are not interesting outside their place in the metanarrative. Strip away the commentary these characters exist to serve and there’s basically nothing left. You can watch Utena without a master’s thesis in feminist theory and still care about Utena trying to save Anthy from her shackles. You can watch Sarazanmai without a PhD in child psychology and still have a blast with the kids’ struggles for connection. You can even watch Penguindrum, confusing mess though it may be at times, and care about Kanba, Shu and Himari even when you don’t understand exactly why things happen the way they do. But you cannot watch and enjoy Yuri Kuma Arashi unless you care more about the overarching metaphors and message of a story than the story itself. If anything, it reminds me less of any other Ikuhara show and more of the similarly meta-narrative heavy Re:Creators: a very good message that I definitely agree with, but man does the story conveying that message not measure up on its own.

ok, so let's talk about Yuri Kuma Arashi, the manga version, i watched the first ep of the anime years ago, didn't understand a shit and stopped, i read the manga and i have plans to watch the anime itself... so, the manga broke my heart in a way i could not believe it was possible, wtf is this manga?! like, it have some weird things, but the story is fucking perfect (and tragic). This will have spoilers, big spoilers, if you don't like spoilers and enjoy Yuri, go read the manga, is short, can be read in a day and is perfect.

so, our protagonists, the main couple, Kureha and Ginko, they are the cutest couple ever, born to be a couple, their love is so cute and perfect, i want to huge both, specially Ginko, this girl needs therapy, a lot, she is just a baby bear that needs a hug.

like, Ginko have this whole psicological trauma because she killed someone by accident when she was a kid, and it was the mother of the girl she fucking loved, and the great love of her mother's life.

and the whole bear thing at least in the manga, is not real, it is something that exist only in Ginko and Kale (Ginko's mother) minds, it was something that Kale had, because she felt different from anyone else, she believed when she was a child, after she became 17, she would become a bear, never happened of course, so she started to believe that everyone is a bear, including her, but they are pretending to be human, Ginko being raised by someone like that also got it from her mom, so the whole bear thing? only in the mind (sometimes people will use the bear costumes). The only person Ginko see as a human is the girl she loves, Kureha, it was the same thing for kale, the only person she saw as a human was Kureha's mother, Reia

Like, maybe Kale started all this thing with bears because she was a lesbian and felt different from everyone, or not, it was my theory (that kinda falls apart, but it is something) and after she met Reia, things changed to her, it was the only person Kale acknowledges as a human, it was the love of her fucking life, she wanted to marry with Reia, she would do everything for her... and Reia married a guy that she liked, she didn't love the guy, she met him, had a summer love with him and decided to marry the guy just because. She acknowledge that it was a mistake after the marriage, because she noticed that she was in fact, in love with Kale (it was kinda too late, that single act destroyed Kale's life).

She kinda thought that the girl was straight, but ignored the possibility that Reia could be Bi and did something stupid, because Reia would had accepted the proposal. How Reia died was an accident, kinda. When Ginko and Kureha was children, Kureha got lost in the forest that had a lot of bears, Ginko decided to go help the girl, stole Reia's gun and went to find Kureha, when Reia find boths she makes so much noise that Ginko without knowing shoots and kills Reia, causing a giant trauma on Kureha, on herself, on Kale and on her aunt that was also in love with Reia, so... yeah, this manga talks a lot about trauma, like a lot. (Kale actually started to say that she killed Reia and devoured her like a bear).

This manga talks a lot about grief, the whole Kale's arc is about that, Lulu's arc too (her past made me want to die of sadness, like, wtf?!!), Yurika's arc too, she loved Reia, but after she died she started to fuck her brother's wife (Kale), i mean, both already had something before, but their relationship got a lot messier after. And Lulu? one of my favourite characters, she is in love with Ginko since she was a child, but their relationship started because she could not handle the grief and guilty of her little brothers death, it was an accident, but she felt guilty, because she was the responsible for him, so she kinda made Ginko her world after that. (she misses him so much that she have a teddy bear named after him and she takes care of it like it was him)

Lulu is so precious that i want to protect her from everything. Sumika is another favorite of mine, she does a lot, but as someone that helps Kureha to save Ginko, she helps everyone, all because she loves Kureha, she say to kureha that she loves her, but want to be a friend and... ouch, like, ouch. Just Imagine, you love this person, you love them so much that you would do everything for them to be happy... but this happyness will not be with you, and you know that since the beggining, that's Sumika in the manga, she helps Kureha a lot, part of the motive everything went well was because of her, and in the end she wanted to really have magic powers like people was saying about her, because that way she could make Kureha love her, it was really sad.

And the protagonist, Kureha, did everything she could to not only discover how her mother died, but did everything she could to save the girl she loved (Ginko was so depressed that i started to fear for her life), Kureha is an amazing character too, like, i probably love all the characters from this manga.

well, that's it, talked about everything i wanted about this manga, i reccomend, cannot say the same about the anime, not because the anime is bad, it is because it's 2 different stories, with 2 different objectives, i will watch the anime, maybe tomorrow.

Just me reposting about Yurika because I can

Ahem I deleted the previous post because some stuffs changed since I played Ryoushi's route.

THIS POST WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS OF BOTH TAISHO X ALICE SERIES AND THE FANDISC. YOU ARE WARNED.

So. Where do I start.

I think there is something important about TaiAli: characters may have biased opinions about each other. (like in reality), and that also includes Yurika. Yurika is a character that is humanly complex and flawed while the games tend to show her representation as "Arisu" inherently girlbossy as being some kind of idealized version of herself that'd be able to go to crazy and unrealistic lenghts to save the one she loves (like stabbing herself in Kaguya's route). That's the whole point of her character: that she is different and more flawed than this "princess."

"Arisu" is a representation of Yurika's will to save Alistair that is molded into *his* inconsious. She's a character that is biased by his own twisted perception of Yurika since he's idealizing her starting some point and to some extend. But that idealization alone is again, complex.

Since her birth Yurika was assigned roles because she happened to be "smarter than other kids". "Genius" - that was a role she struggled to recognize herself as a kid. Probably because from her perspective it felt like it was something she wasn't, but something she needed to appear as to gain her parent's attention and approbation. (This leading for her to have extremely low self-esteem as a child). Ryoushi's route describes rather well how lonely her childhood was because nobody actually really watched over her as an adult should watch over a child. Every child needs she could have was instantly brushed off by the "she's smarter and more mature than other kids" allegation. Even Ryoushi himself kinda avoided her because of his own issues. Adding to that her appearence: reminder we are in the country side Japan and Ryoushi's route despised that not only children but full grown adults would criticize Yurika's unique appearence and even go as lenght as telling their childs she must be cursed for having that kind of eyes. While not having experienced blatant bullying, she was still ostracized. Yurika's parents again pushing the "that's what makes you unique" agenda could have felt really insensitive toward the fact she had actually suffered and been lonely. (Flashback the scene where Yurika's mom claims that "it's not a big deal if she doesn't have friends in kindergraten" because "she's not like other children."). While her parents may have genuinely not any bad intention, they were in fact really cold and in denial of Yurika's emotional needs. No matter how "smart" or "gifted" she is, a child is still a child.

This led to her developing her first love for someone with whom she didn't need to care about fitting the "genius" role: "Alice". To her that was the first person who didn't push the role onto her and didn't watch her with prejudiced eyes because of her appearance. In reality, you may say that he was, in fact, assigning her another role: the "princess". The one who needs to be cherished and protected. This may feel diminutating for us, but from the little Yurika's perception, it was a positive experience. Because the "princess" role was the exact opposite of the "genius" role (= something she struggled to see her in). "Princess" is allowed to be weak, allowed to ask for others compagny. It may have been incounscions, but to Yurika, it must have felt like her emotional needs were *finally* listened.

That's why to Yurika, "Alice" validing her appearance was way more impactful than her parent's agenda. It was the first time she was able to really bound with someone her age. So she took everything related to him to heart value and started to have a wish for the future = "bride", that's childish, yes, but that's accurate to her age and her situation. Her parents already planned her future as something like her researcher or a doctor, only taking into account her IQ but not what she may actually want. "Alice" was the first person who allowed her to act like an actual child, so she felt comfortable and wished for this comfort to stay.

But shit happens ofc and as a child, even if she gained a lot of self-confidence thanks to her bounding with Alice, she was still unable to go against her parents. She was still unable to say that she didn't want to go to america. We don't really know how happened while she was studying in america, it was probably "normal" but she kept for years the ribbon that matches with "Alice", probably as a momento(?) or something that'd remind her of him and the way he valided her. We don't really know if she just never stoped be in love with him or it's more like a childhood love that rebloomed when she met him again years later.

Years later, when reunited with Alistair and learning about his situation. She let go of the "princess" role when she realized he himself wasn't the same person from the past. (This is emphasized by her changing the ribbon in her hair). Yurika couldn't anymore be a "princess" that needed protection because she grew up as bright, cherfull, assertive and confident young girl, that was plenty capable by herself without needing the help of a "prince"... Or at least, that's how she appeared to Alistair. Because the little crybaby girl he felt the urge to protect was now appearing as strong compared to him who suffers from mental illness. So Yurika came from "Princess" to "Queen" (more powerful and independent position). She even reflected their own past experiences by being ostentatious on purpose by changing her way of speech, so she would be seen as "the weird one". Just as "Alice" took her ribbon to be as "abnormal" as her when they were childs. The roles are now reversed, and Yurika doesn't appear as the one who needs comfort anymore.

But the "princess x prince" combination was still something Yurika and Alistair longed for, because it was deeply rooted in their happy childhood memories. Time passes by, and Yurika is assigned another role: the "witch" (Gretel's birth), totally unwillingly. It's like her just being here automatically leads to other predefined titles. But real people aren't defined by fairy tales archetypes, right ?

But still, since humans are so complex, it's sometimes more comforting to use these archetypes. The character you play in Taisho x Alice, the persona born from Yurika's will and Alistair's incouscious is a "princess" modled for Alistair. Because while pushing the princess allegation to Yurika, Alistair's own definition of what is a "princess" is by time influenced by her. So the Taisho x Alice "Arisu" isn't a princess that is weak, but someone strongwilled and energic, proactive, and.... ultimately succeding. (Because the attempts that fail to save the prince are erased). The main character that leads to a happy end is, by definition, never wrong. Only the result matters, so "Arisu" is free of guilt as she's only driven by the wish to save her prince. What happens to Alistair's dream belongs to him and his alters. It doesn't need to be healthy, to be sane, to be the despiction of a realistic relationship in a realistic setting. It's a fairy tale written by Yurika and interpreted by Alistair's inconsciousness to bring him comfort. The comfort of being fully, inconditionnaly loved.

So the "Arisu" is a princess, while Yurika herself doesn't fit to this only role. The real Yurika is more flawed, she did useless stuffs when being pressured, she hesitates, she shows weakness. She's in fact neither a princess, a queen or a witch, she's nothing but herself, with her own contradictions. Or maybe she's also all of theses titles depending on where you stand ?

She's smart, but not the crazy mastermind she may appear as. While being subject to emotional dependency and smart enough to act up in a way that could be considered "abnormaly," common sense and moral still apply to her. When broking windows, she took care of not risking to hurt anyone. (+ I beg to remind you it was a one-time situation while she felt pressured). She felt genuinely bad for counting on Ookami and did actually develop a real friendship with him. (Note that Ookami isn't stupid either and didn't feel used to the slightest. Please stop with the "evil yurika manipulated the poor innocent ookami"). She's even capable of crying for him, too. She may have done discutable, not necessary stuff, but she does feel bad. I think that's what Ryoushi meant when saying it's "not that she doesn't see anything but the one she loves, she just chooses to ignore." It's not that moral doesn't apply. She'll just side with Alistair no matter what, even if she had to suffer from her own decisions. When talking about her dangerousness, Ryoushi thinks mostly about her being a danger for herself, not others; highlighting her emotional dependency. But Yurika being written as a complex human being, she does progress. Having her genuinely bounding with Ookami is the most explicit proof of that.

Charcters describes her by many ways that may be contradictory: "smart" "dumb" "capable" "abnormal" "beautiful". By awaking and discociating himself from Alice, Alistair accepts Yurika for who she is, somehow keeping the prince/princess roleplay but in a way more healthy way as they mutually accord to each others.

Conclusion: Yurika is a flawed, complex teenager. While I myself sometimes push the Yurika crazy girlboss agenda, she's, in fact, way more nuanced. What matters is that her and Alistair broke free from their unhealthy coping mechanism and had a new fresh start. And that the FD's being somehow an open ending is beautiful because that means Yurika actually has the choice and isn't dependent anymore. (Wish them all the happiness 👁👁).

Ishida-Yagami House Tour (Part 9 - Final) My head was saying ‘give it Disney Channel teen bedroom’, but really it’s giving ‘huh it’s kinda bigger than their parents’ bedroom’. When the oldest girls aged up, I moved them out of their tiny childhood bedroom to this extra space behind the children’s bathroom. I’m still playing around with platforms, but I thought it added an interesting dimension. With twins, it’s very easy to do a ‘split into two, opposite aesthetics’ narrative drive. It’s a bit floral & whimsical, I had just got the Cottage Living pack and looks like Yakari’s teen girls are cottagecore. They both played the violin as kids, highest skill level, but only one of them continues pursuing music & arts. They both continue to be A students, but only one of them kept their original desk & the other desk got passed down to their brothers (and it’s totally not because I ran out of space). Get your bingo card out, because there is again another wall of memories. For the oldest twins, they are the same age as their relatives (who definitely weren’t accidents), so it’s a nice section of ‘here’s a picture of me and my aunt, yes we’re both 17’. I placed this more towards *Yurika’s side because although *Orihime is the one who wants a big family, Yurika’s a bit of a mini-mum herself & she likes seeing her & her relatives altogether. *The girls’ names are different from what they’re called in the fic (subject to change)

its so. ouhh. when i think abt how [redacted] basically shaped yurikas life. like him saying that one thing to her when they were kids just. it helped her so much. and it's something she carries with her even after they have to part when the summer ends . . . something she used to help her grow and do her best despite her insecurities . . .

she ends up becoming such a lovely person and meets [redacted] again when theyre older and she's SO excited and happy to see him again but . he pretends to not know her because unlike how she kept going with her life and striving to do her best, he was met with countless misfortunes and he's honestly embarassed of the person he is when he meets her again

but despite it all, she still loves him and does her best to show her support for him and his [redacted] . . . and her love is just so insane that even after he puts himself in a coma she literally decides to take matters into her own hands and help him and his [redacted] find their happy endings . . . so that they can all feel loved . . . because she loves HIM and everything that is uniquely him . . . in the same way he loved her. and im gonna throw up and cry sorry i can be so normal. idk if this is even coherent man

THINK SO? actually i Am related to a former theatre kid and i can say confidently there isnt anything specifically that draws me to them. as a kid i just really loved yurika since she debuted (and loli gothic was one of my fav brands to use in the games :']) and i found her and kaedes dynamic sooo fun

as for valkyrie i adored their music since my friend first sent me a bunch of them to listen skdjghsdghsdg me liking their characters came a lot later once i caved </3

I hope aikatsu was a gay awakening for kids. especially like mizuki/mikuru joking about being newlyweds and sora saying she wants to be close to the person she loves and ichigo saying she wrote a love song for mizuki. if you watch all that how can you not think "i guess girls can love multiple other girls at the same time"

AHYSGAJSJASJ YOU ARE SO QUICK these are sure interesting! i'll talk about it more in the tags but here are my prisoners' covers of your prisoners' songs!

Akio: Social Performance (Akio is so normal about his relationship with Arata. He is so sane about it. But this song actually describes their relationship and the "big twist" about who they actually are to each other (no, I'm not talking about the romance part) and what their relationship was like before they became closer really well. "Life is a play after all, and everyone knows their scripts. Everyone except you, who steals the show so easily.")

Aimi: Outsider (Ah, a cute and sad song with creepy vibes and art theme. Yeah, very Aimicore. I actually was torn between this, Open Your Eyes and Melancholy, but eventually chose this because I feel like Aimi would try to make it look like her relationship with her accomplice was better than it actually was, so she wouldn't show how sad everything really was (that's why a different character got Melancholy) and how angry she really was at him and her classmates (that's why a different prisoner got Open Your Eyes). Very excited and terrified of revealing that part of her backstory in Season 3 <3 "What were the colours of today's sunset again? Let's continue playing when I wake up, okay?")

Shun: Sakura Spring (Yeah, Shun and Rin's parallels are sure strong. I can imagine Shun singing it as this really pretty and sad love song and putting his whole heart into it, while also sounding a little delusional as always. "Will you still smile at me like you did back then? I'm dying to know.")

Naomi: True Colors (I wasn't sure at first if she should get Kiyoshi's song or Mayumi's song, but I feel like Kiyoshi's situation and his song lyrics are closer to her crime. Naomi isn't exactly obsessed with justice or anything, she does talk a lot about how kids can be evil, but.. Honestly, that's just her subconsciously trying to justify her murder. And also being a little jealous of kids, but I'll stop myself before I reveal too much. "Everyone has their own role within this multi-coloured society. I won't forgive those who disrupt the peace.")

Kei: Red String of Love (This might be a bit surprising, but yes, he gets Suzume's song! Come on, his first name literally means "gemstone", haha. And also, this MV and the song's lyrics actually say a lot about how Kei views romantic love and what he should do to get it. I think it goes well with his T2 MV too! "Love can be so difficult sometimes. Maybe I'm just not good at it.")

Eiko: Macrophage (Again, probably a surprising one, but the lyrics actually fit Eiko really well! It's hard for her to forgive people, she can be very hard on others, her expectations are always really high and if someone wrongs her.. They will regret it. "The scale of justice can never be balanced. There is good that goes unrewarded, and evil that goes unpunished.")

Asahi: Artificial Happiness (PROBABLY NOT THE CHARACTER YOU EXPECTED HDJSDKSKLSL. But it just fits Asahi so well! So yeah, just let this 11 (now that it's T2, 12 y/o) y/o boy sing a song about drugs, murder and just mafia-related stuff. It's okay, Asahi knows a lot about all these things anyway. "Hey there, what's with the frown? Here, I'll give you some candy, candy-!")

Yurika: Open Your Eyes (Yay, Yurika and Akane match! Yes, Yurika has. A LOT of anger inside and also the lyrics just sound so much like her?? I'm actually kinda shocked?? Yurika's crime is. Far from sympathetic though. I actually was thinking of giving her Artificial Happiness at first. "Their faces blur together, for they have no eyes. It's hard to tell them apart. Whatever. I wonder what I'll eat for dinner.")

Riku: Dance, Dance, Dance! (You know what, Riku. Why do you need your band anyway, just become an idol /j But yeah, it's a nice parallel with both of them being somehow related to music, their victims also were their friends, and also it just fits Riku's T2 MV theme a lot! "This is the life I chose for myself. I won't let my hard work go to waste, no I won't! I'll keep dancing until the show is over.")

Reina: Melancholy (Another surprising one (maybe)! I chose it mostly because it actually says a lot about her relationship with her victim and also I just really wanted her to cover a sad song for some reason, haha. "Is there no end to this mortal suffering? Can we end it already? I'm sorry for troubling you.")

Ichiro: Error Screen (Okay, so the colours and glitchy effects of the MV certainly suit Ichiro's vibe. There's a disconnect between reality and what happens in the MV, which fits his usual state of mind. Some of the lyrics fit Ichiro's feelings towards his mom too. There's nothing wrong with me still missing you, right? There's nothing wrong with me still wanting to be with you, right? So why don't you leave him, you deserve better, even though I'm probably worse.)

Akane: Heart-shaped Candy (I can't think of any of your prisoners' songs that would fit her because none of their crimes give off the same vibes as her killing her dad. But ah, I assigned Heart-shaped Candy to her because she's angry just like Yurika lol. Yurika working as a maid reminded me of Akane working as a waitress too.)

Daisuke: Empty Desk (HELP I can't quite believe it. Daisuke's babygirl energy is just too strong. I checked Hot Pink Illusion first, but the rose coloured glasses lyric didn't fit. Yeah, the lyrics of Empty Desk and Naomi's guilt after her crime fits him to a T. Everyone's reactions of her crime may or may not apply to Daisuke as well.)

Suzume: Lost in Perfection (The lyrics and the somewhat obsessive feelings towards Eiko's love interest? Yes. Not to mention, wanting for something perfect.)

Haku: Jump Together (This might be kinda funny because Riku is so similar to Kiyoshi. But uh, I took a look at the lyrics and... Let's just say one aspect of Riku's relationship with his childhood friend applies to Haku's relationship with Kurosaki. Just a little. Also, just imagine Haku singing a song obviously made by a band.)

Yui: Heart-shaped Candy (Again? Yes. Himiko. That's all I have to say.)

Rin: Portrait of Friendship (I considered giving him Asahi's song, but Aimi's song about friendship fits him well enough to be assigned to him. The lyrics and her being an outcast in her class apply to him well.)

Noa: Empty Desk (Only the most babygirl of my ocs get this song. She gets this song because the general sad vibes and MV fit her well.)

Kiyoshi: No Reason (Reina's façade and her potential true friend group's dynamics. That's all I can say before I reveal too much.)

Mayumi: Staying At The Top (Its really weird, but I think this song isn't a bad fit for her. She and Akio would both cover Purge March, so they're quite similar.)

How would you cast Fate Strange Fake?

Man, it was so wise of me to wait for volume 7 before getting to this one. The /Requiem casting post is waiting on the event's rerun, if it doesn't start taking as long as Case Files's.

Spoiler warning for volume 7.

Ayaka Sajou already has a voice in Hollow Ataraxia, but I think that doesn't fit her new character, so I'd give her Kana Hanazawa because she voices Sajou Ayaka. Also, her Hollow actor is uncredited, I think. Richard is voiced by Yuuki Ono in the PV and I'd keep that. Saint-Germain I just can't not see Sabo's face in his illustration, so I'll double down and cast him as Tooru Furuya.

Tine can be *googles Kaguya Shinomiya VA name* Aoi Koga. She really nails the tone of a young girl forcing herself to sound like an adult. Gilgamesh was always Tomokazu Seki and I'm not changing that.

Bazdilot is a scary man demanding a scary man voice, but I'm against repeat voices, so no Kenjirou Tsuda or Jouji Nakata no matter how much they're already overused in TM. No Sugita or Ootsuka either. Honestly, I feel like that leaves with only Norio Wakamoto as a suitable and new option. Alcides would be Tadahisa Saizen because he's always has been Heracles.

The chimera wolf will be voiced wolf or dog stock sounds. Enkidu would continue being Yuu Kobayashi from FGO.

Σ's Kirito face makes me want to say Matsuoka, but that's already taken by Flat, so I'll go with Yuuki Kaji. Watcher... Eh, too many people to cast. I'll just say Asclepius reprises his FGO actor, and Ahab gets Shigeru Chiba.

Tsubaki gets Yurika Kubo. The casting gag is that she does the Platelets in Cells At Work BLACK, so baby girl surrounded by disease. Pale Rider can be anyone ran through 800 computer filters. The actual actor doesn't matter because they'd be utterly unrecognizable in the product. Heck, get Narita himself to voice Rider.

Hippolyte is kinda hard to cast because she doesn't have much special going for her. Well, she's Penthesilea's sister and Penth is voice by Yuu Shimamura, a Zelda, so I could go with another Zelda, Ayumi Fujimura. Svin, Yvette, Caules, Mary, Rin, and Luvia would get reprises from their established actors. I don't feel like I have enough material to cast the Apocrypha kids, but I have a very particular and unlikely wish for Werner. Fuuta Kimura. "Whomst've'd?", you might be asking. It's the live-action actor who did Orlocke's young form in the Adra musical, still the best thing to have come out of the El-Melloi series.

I haven't heard Ken'yuu Horiuchi as Artorius because Pembroke plays with the English dub on the Berseria streams, but knowing Horiuchi plays Artorius immediately makes him the perfect Orlando. Wataru Hatano would be a good Dumas, as he knows both how to be crude and how to be intellectual. I wanted Hitomi Nabatame as Vera for her role as Konishi in TWEWY but she's already Bazett, so I'll go with Misato Murai for Minami in Tribe Nine. And for John, we need someone who nails the shounen hero vibes, and I'm thinking of Taku Yashiro, Luke from Yugioh Sevens.

Francesca already has an uncredited voice actress speculated to be Yukari Tamura. But I want both Prelatis to have the same VA and I don't think Tamura can do a good man voice for François. So now it's time for me to pull back to my Danganronpa V3 roots and shill Saihara's voice acting again. Megumi Hayashibara is the one we need. She's a huge deal, but the Prelatis are kind of a huge in-universe too. And I really just can't believe Hayashibara has never been in TM to this day.

Jester... Roa is a character who changed A LOT in the Remake, but Jester still exists as a character that contains all the worst the old version of Roa has to offer. So none better than Ken Narita, Roa's old voice, to play our vampire clown. Assassin can be Miyu Tomita. FsF's Assassin and Kaguya-sama's Iino are the best girls of their series for roughly the same reasons.

Now, this is the one I had already decided in my head long before I got the ask. Hiro Shimono as Faldeus. Shimono is another guy who is long overdue coming to TM, and Faldeus is just the character for him because no one is better than Hiro Shimono when it comes to being pathetic. See Ouma, Ryuunosuke Naruhodou, Aoba Kuronuma, and most of all, Zen'itsu Agatsuma. Shimono is the man we need. It can't be anyone else. Hassan will depend on whether or not he proves to be the First. If he is, he's Jouji Nakata, and use Faldeus's own voice when speaking early to conceal the twist. If he isn't, I dunno, Tetsuo Kanao.

Flat is already Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. Jack is really tough to cast because it needs to be the most neutral voice possible. I kinda wanna say Minami Takayama for her role as Kamukura. Hao and Envy are close to the right tone too. Yeah, I'll go with that. Thia would just use Flat's voice, but with a delivery closer to how Matsuoka does for Neil in Yugioh.

Aya Uchida starts with the same Uchi kanji as Siduri's Yumi Uchiyama, so she's perfect for Haruri. Huwawa and Gugalanna don't need human voices. Ishtar I want to still be Kana Ueda despite also Rin being there. Pre-possession Filia can be idk Ayana Taketatsu.
