Kyokou Suiri - Review

Iwanaga Kotoko is known as the God of Wisdom, she served as a mediator for the youkai and their troubles with the human world. She mets Sakuragawa Kurou, an university student whose long-term relationship ended with an unfortunate breakup. Kurou has an special ability he can get hurt and youkais are afraid of him. Kotoko acknowledges thats, but she fell in love with him and make him his assistant. With that they together resolve any supernatural problems that come in her way.

I know people have a lot of mix feelings with this one specially during the last episodes. I really really liked it, Kotoko is such a great main character. And ever character interaction is simply great. This is a thought I have seen within others too, the people in this story have souls, emotions fluid and they behave in a way that just make you like the story even more.

I know people dislike the fact that they talked (that’s why I think the anime should be seen like a seinen more like shounen) a lot but that didn’t bother me and I believe it helps understand the mysteries specially with the fact that Kotoko has to think of something because the truth in unknown. I know people dislike the Nanase arc but I must admit at the beginning I was a little tired of it but every time Kotoko came with a meticulously done lie, I was so into the explanation that I even believe some of it ^^

On the other side animation is good, the youkai moments were my favorite specially with the cute ones, the sound was nice too, the opening and ending made me feel like it was an old ghost story anime, but I’m not complaining.

My final score is 8.5/10
