This is Lola, she is a #Snapstar doll and according to her box she loves animals and looking/sharing pictures on her social media.

Pros:

I love her hair and how pretty it is. I also like how easy it is to detach and reattach to her head.

Her face is so nice and her eyes are beautiful.

I adore her clothes and unicorn bag. They were very easy to take off the doll and put back on again.

There were no noticeable defects on the doll whatsoever.

She is fully articulated. She has movement at her: head, chest, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.

£13.50 is a good price for this toy. Not just for the lovely doll and her accessories but also for the green screen and stand that is included.

She is easily posable and is good at holding her shape.

Any Cons/Defects?:

There was a lot of loose threads on the clothing but removing them did not damage the quality of the clothes.

I don’t like how visible the skull cap of the hair is at times.

The mobile accessory looked warped. (Unless that was deliberate?).

I didn’t get round to the green screen portion of the toy as I don’t personally own a smartphone which means that that can be slightly limiting when it comes to all of the content that comes with the doll. Meaning that some children wont be able to play with the app as intended because they don’t have access to smart devices.

Things that personally bothered me: 

You can’t tell from the pictures but her neck is weirdly long for the rest of her body. But it’s not a deal breaker and not a big issue, just something weird that I noticed.

The shorts a bit too short for my personal taste.

So, what is my overall opinion? I was blown away by this doll. I went into the shop and picked her up on a whim, I did not expect to find myself becoming excited by this doll. But genuinely I almost immediately fell in love with it. I love almost everything about this toy. I’m actually resisting the urge to take her out of her box and play with her more. I loved posing her and taking pictures and showing them to people. And I can just think and imagine how much fun a child would have with this product. I highly recommend this toy to anyone 5 and over.

The raccoon eyes spoke to me. Words cannot describe how unhinged she looked in box. All the promo art I’m finding has made sure that you can’t see her eyes properly. Apparently all the dolls look Like That. Poor Dawn was the only one left on the shelf.

“Save me.”

But seriously, has anyone else taken a look at these dolls? The premise is pretty cute and would be a lot of fun for any kids interested in photography and editing. I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the clothing. The shorts and jacket were plastic tarp material and the shirt was cheap fake satin. For a doll that is supposedly interested in fashion, I found the outfit lacking compared to the others of the line. She kind of looks like she’s on the way to a funeral.

A few other things pointed towards a lack of quality in the manufacturing department. Her cell phone’s sticker came off immediately upon opening the box. The purse had no-gos (aka hangy offy bits) from the mold. The shoes bothered me the most since they painted only two of the four rivets:

C’mon. They’re molded as rivets.

The character art is adorable though, and I wish they had been better able to translate it into a doll:

I was impressed, however, with the articulation. Not only does she have full joint articulation, but her hips can move 90 degrees outward, and her ankles are articulated to allow for flat shoes as well as heels. The heads are a little strange, though the mold is cute after you remove the raccoon eye liner. The irises are just way too small for the eyes so they all look shocked. The lining inside is also very thick, so I had to make what was essentially new eye holes.

The proportions are... weird with the head. It’s very, very large. Arms are short, legs are long. Honestly, I’m going to be keeping an eye out to see if Yulu Toys comes out with any more doll lines. From what I see, they specialize more in the “board game”/”game toy” type arena. A lot of their games look like educational fun.

I’m looking forward to making this girl some new clothes and giving her a new face. I’m using the factory clothing as the patterns for the outfit to keep with the original vibe of the doll as best as I can.

They're made by a company called YDKS Limited which appears to be DBA Yulu toys. And dollars to doughnuts that they bought the LIV tooled metal moulds from Spin Master.

Best part is how they accidentally linked to their not-yet-live website's IP address from their facebook page, which still has dummy copy. BLESS.

The dolls are wigged, but the hair isn’t the best tbh. It’s ok, but it’s a bit dry. A good washing helps tho, trust me. Liv wigs should fit nicely too. Also the wig has a stick inside that goes into the head

YULU launches Popcorn Poppin’ game and more at 2020 New York Toy Fair

YULU, the toymaker behind popular toys such as Pop Pops, Spy Code, YULU Sports, Watermelon Smash, Tic Tac Tongue and Flip Finz, has unveiled a lineup of new fun and interactive toys at this year’s American International Toy Fair in New York. The new YULU toys include the suspense game Popcorn Poppin’, the fast-paced, electronic board breaking game Break the Board; the retro-cool craft activity Swirl & Style Tie Dye Studio Maker and the popping surprise collectible bling Pop Pops Blingz. Popcorn Poppin’ is a game that lets players pass the popcorn bucket before the popcorn pops. Players will have to activate the timer and as it counts down, they will have to follow the instructions from the pop-up die and pass the popcorn as fast as they can. This game is recommended for players ages 4 and up. It will sell for $14.99. In Break the Board, players will aim to literally break the wooden board just like in martial arts. There are four game modes to choose from - Level Up, Competition, Trainer, and Freestyle. Players will be given instructions to quickly chop, swipe and strike through 10 challenging levels. It is recommended for kids ages 6 and up and it will retail for $19.99 starting in the fall.     Another game by YULU, called Diamond Heist, is a cooperative game where players ages 6 and up will have to work together to win or risk being caught. The goal is to retrieve the diamond that was stolen by an evil organization. It will retail at $19.99 starting this fall.   In addition to fun games, YULU will also be releasing two new toys this year: the Swirl & Style Tie Dye Studio Maker that lets children unleash their imagination and creativity as they create their own tie-dye designs. The set will retail at $19.99 starting this spring and it is designed for users ages 6 and up.     YULU has also unveiled the new Pop Pops Blingz at the Toy Fair, the latest addition to the toymaker’s line of Pop Pops. In Pop Pops Blingz, kids will enjoy confetti ooze, bubble popping and the hunt for surprise collectibles. Pop Pops Blingz will be sold in mini packs for $2.99, starter packs for $4.99 and mega packs for $9.99. It will be available starting this fall.     Attendees at the Toy Fair will be able to witness all these new games and toys from YULU at booth #1765 in the Jarvis Center.
