Hi hi hii!! It’s me again!!! I started wondering, how would the characters in Best Teacher Baek be in a beach day. Here’s my opinion: (sorry that this is long, also I’m using the names that appear in the webtoon, so sorry if you get confused on who I’m talking about😭)
[Lifeguards: Su Namgoong, Jun Dokgo]
As the Student Council President, I feel like Jun would rather watch and make sure that nobody is drowning nor fighting.
While on the other hand Su would be most likely watching over Suryong. It’s not because he doesn’t trust him and his ability to keep himself safe and others safe, it’s just because he doesn’t trust his way of doing stuff. But even with 10 people watching over him, he somehow manages to slip away and cause some commotion.
[Sandcastle Competition: Gang Heonwon, Cheon Wiji, Hyeok Yasu]
Cheon was just minding his business and making a sand castle when suddenly someone walked by and saw his sandcastle and they were praising him.
Gang and Hyeok overheard and they were like “we can do that too” and then that started the sandcastle competition. I’ll let you decided on who won
[Tanning: Yeomin, Iran Yu, Soyoung Jaegal]
I imagine Yeomin and Iran to be good friends so I see them both chatting while lying down.
Iran hates how people gave her the title of The Sword Flower merely because of her looks.
Many people stay away from Yeomin due to the rumor that she was the thief behind several instances of theft in the girls dormitory. They’re very different but so similar at the same time that I can’t help but imagine them as friends.
Su has my girl Soyoung OVERWORKED. She needs a good rest🙏
[Walking Around: Geukryeom Mae, Soso Dang]
As the Head Supervisor, it’s Geukryeom’s duty to make sure everything is going well and is totally not giving threatening looks to students of the opposite gender that are getting too close to each other.
As the Vice President of the Student Council, it’s also Soso’s duty to make sure everything is going smoothly and is totally not walking around just to be able to look at Suryong in a bathing suit(I would do the same)
[Grill Duty: ILO Myeong, Sang-Ung Geo]
(ILO is capitalized cus it looks word as Ilo) When I first saw ILO I thought, “he can definitely cook” therefore he’s on grill duty making all the food. (He gets possessive over his grill, nobody is allowed to cook on it except for himself )
Sang-Ung provided the food, and I don’t mean a few cheap ingredients. I’m talking about a massive amount of expensive ingredients.
[Surfing/swimming: Yeonho Ak, Muheun Baek, Suryong Baek]
I’m fully convinced that Muheun can surf like a pro, you can’t tell me otherwise. Just look at him.
Yeonho is mostly swimming, he went to Muheun for some surfing tips but he still hasn’t got the hang of it. But he can swim for a long time
Suryong spent some time with his dad but then disappeared for like a few hours. Nobody knew where he went but he came back unharmed with a faint smell of blood and smoke.
This is my opinion on how the characters would be on a beach day! (Haven’t read the novel so some characters might be ooc😭)
Hello again!! I absolutely love this idea so much!!
For the sand castle competition I'm not sure who would win. I feel like Kang would either be pretty good at it or absolutely suck. So Cheon would be decent it looks nice but it isn't spectacular. Yasu I think wouldn't be very good at it. Very bad at it even.
Let's say Kang won. He'd be boisterous about it so much so that he wouldn't notice Yasu slipping away with a bucket...
He noticed when he got drenched. This ultimately resulted into a full water fight with the other students getting dragged in.
If the water fight happened before Suryong disappearance he would have dragged the teachers into the fight as well.
As for the tanning I feel like it would indeed be those three but not for the entire day Yu would try to tan but joined the boys in their sand building competition later on because 'she got got bored'.
Yeomin would be chilling in the water for some time before finding a parasol to sit under as I feel like she would be the type to burn instead of tan. After some time Yu joins her but she stays in the sun to tan.
As for Jeagal she would tan for most of the time. Getting up to grab some food or water, or to try to find a certain missing blue eyed trouble causing fellow.
Speaking of Suryong he disappeared for those few hours 'because he was helping a friend' When he did come back he did so by tackling Su into the water. So his return was announced with the following dialogue.
"SURYO-"
*SPLASH*

giving the dearvo characters akb48 A-sides
Some of these might not exactly fit the vibe of the vocalists’ band style because akb is an idol group. This is very self indulgent as i just love idols and need to relate idols to all my other interests. I’m also a fairly new akb fan which is why i limited this to just a-sides! All the lyrics I use are taken directly from studio48
reodo -> ハート・エレキ | heart ereki (33rd single)
When passionate blood / Pounds through my body / My feelings go crazy / Can I gather them / In one finger? / If you notice / That you're loved / Let me know the truth!
For some reason I had the hardest time deciding what song to give reodo. Heart electric is definitely the slowest paced /least intense song on this list. Don’t really have much to say other than just listen to the song and imagine reo singing it.
joshua -> 10年桜 | 10nen zakura (11th single)
Somewhere the cherry blossom petals / Dance lightly in the wind / As someone flaps their wings / And heads out on their own / I want to be able to protect you even more
oldest akb single and most idol-IDOL-sounding song on this is list (especially the opening and last verse). the chorus is a good mix of longing while still being powerful, which i think his voice would suit really well! also i’m sure someone out there can look at these lyrics and imagine a slowburn childhood-friends-to-lovers.
I was incredibly tempted to give romance irane to joshua but i decided against it mainly because of the lyrics of it. but i think the actual song would work for him.
judah - river (14th single)
Inside your heart too / A river is flowing / So painful, a river of trial / Maybe it doesn't go smoothly, even so / Sometimes you're almost drown, even so / It's OK to repeat again
originally i was debating between giving judah river or koi tsun jatta but after thinking it over, i think river is a better fit! river is such a unique song. it’s starts off with a chant before the instrumental hits riding off the intensity of the opening but the chorus is so heartfelt. i think this song is just the perfect amount of intensity for judah!
2you - 根も葉もRumor | Ne mo ha mo Rumor (58th single)
Rumor Rumor Rumor Oh / Make up a rumor / I'll accept it / I'm sure you'll get it one day / The future, the past, all will become a rumor
i'm not gonna act like i'm that familiar with yu's personality but even with my limited knowledge, i really feel like this song fits! just like what i wrote for reo, just listen to the song and imagine yu singing it and you’ll see what i mean.
momochi - 元カレです | moto kare desu (59th single)
I know that I am self centered / Even if I think about an "If" / The wish will be vain in the end / Maybe I am still in love with you even now / What's wrong with me
moto kare desu is a song from the perspective of an ex boyfriend who sees his ex girlfriend with a new guy. the main reason i picked this song for him is because of the meaning… i want to hear momochi sing lines like “it doesn't matter who the hell he is / If you are happy enough with someone else beside me.” The stage outfits would also look really nice on him In My Opinion.
A’ - UZA (28th single)
You should display love your own way / You don't have to consider the other person / It's okay to love the way you think you should love / And if you're lucky, you might be loved in return
Uza is a more edm-like song with a cool use of autotune throughout the song! the meaning behind the song is also…interesting. i don’t think the lyrics are entirely applicable to atan but this song would go very nice with his voice and fits his style imo. and like all the other songs i was really having a hard time picking between uza and no way man. the lyrics of no way man definitely feel more suited for atan since it’s an uplifting song and not a song about… well i’ll let these lyrics speak for themselves. “I don't care if you're my girlfriend or not / Every time I think of morals I black out”
i really love akb so let me do a quick plug. koi tsun jatta is the a-side of the latest akb single, the full single will come out july 17! it’s sato airi’s first time centering a senbatsu! one of my favorite akb members will be center for one of the b-sides on the single (Surechigau Shunkan)! please check it out if you are interested!

The Taliban are losing their grip on power in Afghanistan as attacks on diplomats and foreign nationals leave a trail of casualties and as border clashes threaten to spill into war. Investors are leaving the country in fear for their lives, scuppering what little hope there was of reviving the war-ravaged economy. Meanwhile, the United States continues to pour in millions of dollars with no clear idea of where the money goes.
On the country’s eastern border, Taliban gunmen trade fire with Pakistani soldiers, killing or wounding scores of people, including women and children, in recent weeks. Islamabad has effectively withdrawn its ambassador, Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, after he was attacked at the embassy in Kabul on Dec. 2. Some commentators say the two countries are now at war. Two Russians were among six people killed in a suicide attack on their embassy in September. Clashes have erupted on Afghanistan’s border with Iran. Regional countries that were relieved to see the United States and NATO leave last August now worry about the flow of drugs, migrants, and left-behind U.S. weapons out of Afghanistan as the country nears collapse.
But it’s the latest attack that has rattled what appears to be an emerging status quo, as China sniffs the wind for secure investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s promising minerals sector and sets itself up as the dominant partner of a Taliban eager to make some progress toward recognition as the legitimate government. All that fell apart on Dec. 12, when gunmen laid siege to a multistory hotel in downtown Kabul used by Chinese businessmen. China’s foreign ministry said five Chinese were injured; the Italian-based nonprofit Emergency Hospital said it received 18 injured people and three dead. The hourslong assault happened the day after Taliban leaders assured China’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Wang Yu, that Chinese nationals were safe. Wang has since ordered all Chinese to leave the country as soon as possible.
With them go any immediate prospects of economic development. The World Bank said two-thirds of households can’t afford enough to eat as the Taliban have been incapable of attracting investment, creating jobs, or convincing the international community to lift damaging sanctions on the banking and financial sectors.
“China can’t rely on the Taliban now, so it’s over for the foreseeable future,” said a former Afghan diplomat close to Beijing, speaking on condition of anonymity. The arrival of hundreds of enthusiastic Chinese businesspeople on the lookout for money-making opportunities had given some hope that things were about to turn. They had thought they could ride China’s decadeslong relationship with the Taliban and plans flagged by Wang to develop the minerals sector and extend China’s Belt and Road infrastructure network through Afghanistan to speed Chinese products to markets in Eurasia and Europe. Its major state corporations had already earmarked the big Mes Aynak copper deposit near Kabul, with a $3 billion, 30-year agreement signed in 2008. They’ve also been visiting gold, lithium, and uranium mines as well rare earths and other minerals, mining sources said.
China’s aversion to risk has precedent in Afghanistan: Taliban attacks on Chinese workers at Mes Aynak soon after the deal was done saw those workers withdraw, with work yet to resume—though control of a copper deposit said to be one of the biggest in the world is a useful hedge for the world’s biggest consumer of the metal. Yu Minghui, who heads the China-Afghanistan Trade Committee and founded a Chinese residential development outside Kabul, said he doesn’t expect many of his compatriots to return to Afghanistan after the Lunar New Year in late January. He told Reuters that around 500 Chinese businesspeople had arrived since the republic’s 2021 collapse. “I think maybe 80 percent will not return,” he said.
China investment isn’t the only casualty of the hotel attack. The Haqqani network, a Taliban offshoot and al Qaeda affiliate, has a long relationship with China’s ruling Communist Party, and its boss, Taliban Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, has lucrative trade deals with China. Haqqani has risked going against the wishes of the Taliban’s grassroots supporters by secretly agreeing to Chinese demands for the deportation of Uyghur militants—fellow Muslims who fought alongside the Taliban with the Turkistan Islamic Party, which seeks to overthrow the Chinese state—throughout the war on the U.S.-supported republic. Documents seen by Foreign Policy show he signed off on the return of seven Uyghurs to China in the summer.
“For Haqqani, this was a pragmatic decision for his own survival; he’s always been close to China and needs to maintain that relationship,” said a former Afghan security official. But he’s risking losing support among core Taliban fighters and battlefield commanders, and there are plenty of other jihadi groups they could join, including the local franchise of the Islamic State, called Islamic State-Khorasan, he said.
Uyghurs were “the men who cleaned our weapons. They were our vehicle mechanics. They did everything we could not do ourselves. They won us the war,” the official quoted Taliban commanders as telling him. There’s little doubt Uyghurs face execution on return to China. A million Uyghurs are said to be incarcerated in concentration camps as the ruling Chinese Communist Party seeks to extinguish nationalistic sentiment and ethnic and religious identity in what the United States calls a genocide.
Questions are now swirling about future targets among the countries and organizations with embassies in Kabul and which Taliban faction or jihad group would benefit. The United Nations is consolidating its presence in Kabul, sources in the capital said, scaling down multiple locations to one fortified compound. The Islamic State-Khorasan generally claims responsibility for major attacks and could boost recruitment by undermining the Taliban’s Islamist credentials—for instance, by targeting the anti-Muslim Chinese regime. A variety of sources from the U.S. government, the former Afghan regime, and others close to the Taliban say, however, that the Islamic State-Khorasan’s capacity was exaggerated by the Taliban to gain U.S. financial and intelligence support under the guise of counterterrorism cooperation. Although its presence in Afghanistan does pose a threat to the Taliban, it’s also seen as a useful cover, as the attacks it claims as its own often bear the hallmarks of Haqqani network attacks during the war.
The security official said an exodus of Taliban supporters to the Islamic State-Khorasan has already begun and could explain the similarities in attack methodology. “Jihadists are like drug addicts; they just want to wage jihad, and a lot of Taliban supporters are diverting to [the Islamic State-Khorasan] to wage jihad against the Chinese as they’re the Taliban’s new friends now the Americans have gone,” he said, referring to disillusion among many supporters about the Trump administration’s 2020 Taliban deal, which led to the U.S.-NATO withdrawal. “There will be a jihadist rebellion within the Taliban as the number of defections grows.”
Since their victory, the Taliban have invited dozens of terrorist and jihadi groups into Afghanistan, including al Qaeda and the Pakistani Taliban, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is now attacking Pakistan from Afghanistan. Last week, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres reiterated concerns about terrorism and border security as well as other Taliban excesses like banning girls from school and the lack of rule of law and justice in his quarterly report. On Tuesday, the Taliban, which had previously banned girls from secondary education, barred women from universities as well, furthering the fundamentalist agenda they had promised not to implement.
Yet while the Taliban alienate their backers, the United States delivers tens of millions of dollars in cash every month for distribution via the United Nations, ostensibly for humanitarian relief, though much of it reportedly ends up in Taliban hands, further entrenching their sense of impunity. American officials regularly meet with Taliban figures in third countries. But that doesn’t seem to be a prelude to any sort of official diplomatic presence, which means the Taliban will—more than a year after their return to power—continue as isolated, friendless, and unrecognized as they are now.
As the threat to embassies and foreigners escalates and the Taliban press ahead with public executions and floggings, the optics of an official presence “just won’t work right now,” the former diplomat said. “No one is going to take that risk now or for some time. No one is safe.”

Procedural Generation in Concept Art: A New Frontier
Procedural generation is rapidly advancing as a critical technique in concept art, particularly within the gaming and film industries. This method leverages algorithms to automatically create complex environments and assets, significantly enhancing both creativity and efficiency in production.
In the paper PCGPT: Procedural Content Generation via Transformers, Mohaghegh et al. (2023) discuss the integration of transformer models and reinforcement learning into procedural content generation (PCG). These advancements allow for the creation of content that can adapt in real-time based on user interactions, marking a significant leap earlier static models. Such innovations are particularly valuable in open-world games and interactive films, where dynamic environments are crucial to the user experience. Although these ideas are very technical and difficult for me to wrap my mind around, being a concept artist, they are still an important aspect of what is happening at the forefront of our industry today, and since more and more 3D software is used by concept artists, these concepts and innovations in procedural generative technology is relevant for me to look into.
Similarly, in Procedural Content Generation via Generative Artificial Intelligence, Mao et al. (2024) explore how generative AI is being utilized to enhance procedural generation processes. The authors highlight the role of AI-driven algorithms in creating everything from detailed textures to entire game levels autonomously, showcasing the potential for these technologies to push the boundaries of creativity in concept art. Games like Minecraft and No Man's Sky are prime examples of how PCG can create expansive, unique worlds that offer endless exploration opportunities. With the new compatibilities of generative AI, this can be taken to a whole new level.
This is all useful to my own project because I frequently use procedural generation tools such as Houdini in my work, or substance painter with it's procedural texturing workflows. Thus it is a good idea to see what is at the forefront of these technologies in 2024.

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang has been removed from his post four weeks after his last public appearance.
State media said on Tuesday that Qin, who held the role for just seven months, will be replaced by his predecessor, Wang Yi. No reason was given for the move.
The mysterious absence of 57-year-old Qin, once seen as close to President Xi Jinping, had sparked widespread speculation. Officials had previously cited “health reasons”, without elaborating.
Here is what to know.
Who is Qin Gang?
Born in the northern city of Tianjin in 1966, Qin studied international politics at China’s prestigious University of International Relations in Beijing and entered the diplomatic service. He worked in several jobs at the foreign ministry as well as at the Chinese Embassy in Britain.
Qin was twice foreign ministry spokesman, between 2006 and 2014, and chief protocol officer between 2014 and 2018, overseeing many of Xi’s interactions with foreign leaders.
According to Al Jazeera’s Katrina Yu, Qin’s rise in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was “rapid and meteoric”.
At the age of 57, he became in December 2022 one of the youngest officials to be named foreign minister, after serving as ambassador to the United States for two years.
“Qin managed to achieve in years what would have taken other officials decades,” Yu said from Beijing.
As ministry spokesman, he stood out for being one of the first diplomats to speak aggressively in defence of China’s increasingly assertive foreign policy, a style that became known as “wolf warrior” diplomacy.
But he also displayed willingness to work with the United States, declaring upon his arrival in Washington as ambassador in July 2021 that relations held “great opportunities and potential” although they did not markedly improve during his time as ambassador.
Qin, who is married with one son, visited various countries after becoming foreign minister, including several in Africa and in Europe, where he pushed China’s call for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
In his first comments as foreign minister, Qin said in solving challenges common to all mankind, China’s diplomacy would offer “Chinese wisdom, Chinese initiatives and Chinese strength”.
One of China’s youngest-ever foreign ministers, Qin also ended his term as the country’s shortest-serving official to hold the post.
Who is Wang Yi?
Wang is the country’s top diplomat, outranking Qin in the government hierarchy as the head of China’s top foreign policy decision-making body.
The 69-year-old held the post of foreign minister for almost a decade from 2013 onward and also filled in for Qin during his absence over the past month.
Yu said Wang’s dual role is leading some analysts to believe that his appointment could be temporary until a new foreign minister is named.
“Wang is experienced, a familiar face and [someone who is seen as] a stabilising force at a time marked by a lot of upheaval,” she noted.
A fluent Japanese speaker, Wang previously served as China’s ambassador in Tokyo and head of China’s policy-making Taiwan Affairs Office.
As head of the CCP Foreign Affairs Commission, Wang was seen as instrumental in brokering a surprise peace deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia in March this year.Play Video

What has happened in recent weeks?
Qin was last seen in public on June 25, when he held talks with counterparts from Russia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
Since then, he has been conspicuously absent from his duties at a time of intense diplomatic activity for Beijing, including efforts to stabilise relations with Washington.
Qin had been scheduled to meet European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on July 4, but EU officials announced that China cancelled the talks without explanation with only a few days’ warning.
Qin then failed to attend closely-watched meetings with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and US climate envoy John Kerry.
His ministry said on July 11 that he was unable to attend a meeting in Indonesia for unspecified “health reasons”. It declined any further comment on his status, creating an information vacuum in which rumours swirled.
During a meeting of foreign ministers at an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Jakarta last week, China was represented by Wang.
What happened to Qin Gang?
No reason has been given for Qin’s dismissal, while his whereabouts remain unknown.
His removal was announced by state media saying that “China’s top legislature voted to appoint Wang Yi as foreign minister … as it convened a session on Tuesday. Qin Gang was removed from the post of foreign minister.”
Al Jazeera’s Yu said the mystery surrounding Qin’s whereabouts highlights the secretive nature of the Chinese government.
“It’s not uncommon for well-known personalities such as businesspeople or celebrities to temporarily disappear from the public eye after falling foul of authorities,” she said. “But for it to happen to such a powerful government figure is rare indeed.”Play Video
Video Duration 28 minutes 30 seconds28:30Is ASEAN at risk of being used by more powerful countries?
Why does the change matter?
Analysts say the sudden leadership shift at the foreign ministry is expected to cause disturbance in Beijing’s diplomatic ranks.
“This is a huge embarrassment for China,” Nicholas Bequelin, a senior fellow at Yale University’s Paul Tsai China Center, told Al Jazeera.
“Qin Gang, the foreign minister, is the public face of China with the world on the international stage and it’s hard to overstate the negative impact that this is having among diplomats around the world,” he said.
Qin was also known as one of Xi’s most trusted advisers.
“Qin Gang was very much handpicked by Xi himself to leapfrog many more established candidates to become the foreign minister last year,” Neil Thomas, from the Asia Society Policy Institute, told Al Jazeera.
“So he really is a captain’s pick, even more so than many other Xi allies in terms of the speed of their rise through the Communist Party ranks.”
Bequelin noted that it is Xi himself who has been driving the direction of China’s foreign policy, with Wang tasked with implementing the strategy.
“Qin Gang, as the foreign minister, is the one who sort of runs the day-to-day machinery. But that is nonetheless very important because diplomats rely on trust, on knowing each other, on the ability to reach out to each other. So it’s highly concerning when you have the foreign minister disappear for a month without a proper explanation,” he said.
Bequelin argued that the development “puts back in the mind of people that China is unpredictable – that at any point people can disappear, that you have no guarantee what comes on the next day”.
“I think that is the reminder that China is trying to avoid as it casts itself as a sort of very stable, trustworthy and reliable architect of the new world order that is supposed to come after the US-led one,” he said.

Shorabil zip line
Shorabil zip line, which is one of the most exciting and youth-friendly activities and جاهای دیدنی اردبیل, with a length of over 475 meters and a speed of over six meters per second, is known as the first motorized zip line in the country. It has made this area famous.
By using this zip line, you can see one of the most beautiful views of Shorabil and enjoy the surrounding scenery in addition to the excitement of this sport. Landscapes covered with green trees and the blue color of Shorabil Lake.
Shwarbil beauty line Source: Google Map Zeb Line Shwarbil Shorabil lake, which is built under the Shorabil zip line, is one of the largest inner city lakes in Iran, with an area of about 180 hectares. This lake, which has various facilities, including a walking path, has created one of the beautiful landscapes around the zip line.
Another reason why tourists choose this area to spend their free time is its cool weather compared to other parts of Ardabil. Because of the presence of the lake and its higher altitude compared to Ardabil, cooler air flows in summers.
Another reason for the crowding in this area is the presence of important buildings such as the Ardabil International Exhibition in this area, in addition to the Shorabil zip line, which has caused a large number of people to visit this area.
Shwarbil beauty line Source: Google Map Zeb Line Shwarbil History of Shorabil zip line Although today, zip lines have become a tool for creating fun and entertainment, but in the past, this was not the case and they are used for more important and vital purposes, including transportation in mountainous areas and crossing areas. Saab al-Abur pointed out that it took place at the beginning in the village of Yu Han in China.
Another use of zip wires or zip lines has been during wars, through which they have moved the military supplies of armies and soldiers. It is also used to pass equipment and deliver food and ammunition to soldiers
Shwarbil beauty line Source: Google Map Zeb Line Shwarbil important points Among the important points regarding the use of Shurabil zip line, the following can be mentioned:
To use each zip line, there are restrictions such as age, weight and height restrictions, which you should use according to these items. The use of Shorabil zip line is not allowed for cardiovascular patients, epilepsy, nervous, high blood pressure patients and pregnant women, and their use causes serious injuries to these people, and the zip line official has advised against using it. They are forbidden. Also, patients with serious physical problems, such as problems in the bones of the spine and a history of serious bone damage, should talk to the person in charge of the device and, if allowed by the person in charge, use these devices. But seeing and using the Shurabil zip line is one of the hundreds of entertainments available in Ardabil province, because this province is one of the most important tourist destinations in the country, and this is also due to the existence of many historical and recreational places in this province. .
