Today was filled with exciting content creation tasks. I successfully published the first of my Halloween series videos using Lensgo Smoke B, https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSNjoE54n, and the response has been fantastic so far. Additionally, I had the opportunity to update the auto-captions for my YouTube event video on LinkedIn,https://www.linkedin.com/posts/adrianleeyc_youtubecreator-youtubesg-sgcreatorcommunity-activity-7118883381534195712-HjAN, ensuring accessibility for a wider audience.

However, I realized that I need to be more conscious of balancing my professional commitments with my well-being. While I managed to handle several critical tasks, I missed my workout session, which is an essential part of my daily routine. It's a good reminder that taking care of our physical health is just as important as our professional endeavors.
I'm also pleased to work on removing unhelpful content from my website, a step I believe will significantly contribute to improving its search engine optimization (SEO). These small yet essential steps are vital for the long-term growth and visibility of my online presence.
I look forward to tackling the rest of my tasks and incorporating more self-care practices into my daily routine. Cheers to progress and continuous self-improvement!

WHEN WE UPSET SOMEONE, BUT THE OTHER PARTY WAS ABLE TO GET OVER IT, WILL WE STILL BE FACED WITH KARMIC OBSTACLES?
Caller: Master Lu, whenwhere a Buddhist practitioner does something that upsets another but the latter is able to get over it subsequently, would the former still be faced with karmic obstacles?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, but. But to a lesser extent. When the other party is able to think things through and not affected by his words, this will then be considered as a minor cause and effect relationship, not a major one.

CUT DOWN ON OUR WORLDLY DESIRES
In truth, all the happiness in this world stems from human beings’ desires. The pleasure of eating stems from our desire to consume food, the pleasure of wealth and fame stems from our greed; our quest for sexual intimacy stems from our sexual desire, the pleasure derived from sleeping and laziness also stems from a type of desire, that is the desire for enjoyment. As such, in this human realm, beware! The happiness you experience today could become the foundation for your slackness in your cultivation tomorrow!
Why the practice of extreme asceticism? It is to allow us to be enlightened, as all things in this world are impermanent. They are all worldly desires. It is through cutting down these worldly pleasures that we are able to experience the “real” happiness within. Happiness within is something you sense on a spiritual level.

TO BE SAFE AND WELL IS A BLESSING
Suffering stems from the mind. When the mind perceives suffering, consequently, the body suffers. If you do not wish to suffer, don't be greedy. When there is no greed, you will be safe and well. In this word this is a blessing in itself. May each and every one of you live life to the fullest every single day, as indeed you are already a blessed person.

Discourse by Master Jun Hong Lu – Hong Kong SAR, China
July 03, 2016
AN INGENIOUS WAY SHARED BY MASTER JUN HONG LU ON HOW TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS BY COOLING OFF FOR SIX (6) SECONDS
Based on research done by psychologists, before information enters into the consciousness of the brain and is stored as knowledge / experiences in our brain, it will have to be first processed by the part of human brain that controls our emotions, which is among the most ancient of human brain’s limbic systems. Whenever we encounter a situation, the brain’s limbic system will be the first to react. This explains why we develop feelings like fear, anger, and joy towards the situation. Thus, the information acquired from the situation will not reach our conscious mind until six seconds later. From there, our brain will process the information and translate it into our knowledge of the situation. Essentially, impulsiveness is the act of a primitive person while careful deliberation is the act of a civilized person. Therefore, in today’s world, many of us have committed crimes and did something awfully detrimental to our family in a moment of impulse. To help us break away from impulsiveness, we have to make use of our civilized sense of rationality. The fact is, whenever you encounter a situation, you should cool down for six seconds. At times when you are unable to curb your temper and are tempted to resort to violence, you have to exercise control, take a few deep breaths for six seconds, recite Jvala Mahaugra Dharani (Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou) once, and you will free yourself from yet another worry and difficulty.

MAINTAIN A HUMBLE MENTALITY
Master Jun Hong Lu: When our Buddhism practice tells us to give in to others, it is not an act of conceding that we are inferior to them; rather it is a mental attitude that is neither haughty nor humble. There are some who seem to stand out from the crowd, however, we should not forget that, in the wider world, there are surely others who are more talented than us. Hence, always remember to bow our heads and maintain a humble mentality. As long as we are steadfast in our endeavours, trust that we will have others hold us in high regard. Indeed, a truly successful person will still shine, earn respect and be admired in spite of their humility.

WAYS TO INCREASE ONE’S BLESSINGS AND LONGEVITY
Caller: Master, you read my Totem some time ago and advised me clearly on my daily recitation of scriptures and Little Houses. You also mentioned that I seem to have inadequate blessings from my past lives. Are there any scriptures that I need to recite to gain blessings?
Master Jun Hong Lu: It is absolutely possible to gain more blessings through recitation of Buddhist scriptures. In fact, when you recite Little Houses, the Great Compassion Mantra, the Heart Sutra and when you refrain from doing bad deeds, you are actually accumulating blessings. So are performing life liberations, performing recitations, making great vows, all of which are effective means for gaining blessings and longevity.

SPIRITUAL CULTIVATION IS THE WAY TO HELP US ELIMINATE All OUR EVIL THOUGHTS, BAD HABITS AND POOR CONDUCT
Nowadays, people are preoccupied with self-interests and are less considerate towards others. When people cannot get along with their spouses or children, they only care about their feelings. They utter hash words towards others only to gain a temporary alleviation from sufferings. As a result, people become eviler. Cultivation of mind is to help us eliminate all our evil thoughts, bad habits and inappropriate behaviour.

RISING ABOVE YOUR PAIN AND LOSSES
Through Buddhist cultivation, we will become a stronger person. Do not worry about personal gains and losses.
Let your losses become gains so that you will be blessed with virtue. Turn all your afflictions into an opportunity that spurs you to progress spiritually.
I hope you cultivate diligently. Forget and remove your pain so that you will make progress in your cultivation. If you could be awakened from your afflictions, you will attain the Prajna wisdom from Bodhisattvas.

Chinese & English

FOUR THINGS WE SHOULD NOT WASTE OUR LIVES ON
We know that we should not waste our lives away and here are four things in particular that we should not dwell on:
Number 1: Our worries. Worries are an absolute waste of our lives. To worry is to make things difficult for ourselves. Why get anxious over problems that we are unable to resolve? As a result, you get tensed up and fatigued physically and mentally. Consequently, you will fall ill.
Number 2: Do not waste your time complaining. Please remember, all unnecessary complaints will only keep you away from happiness. Complaints are downright useless, and serve no purpose in extricating you from predicament of life.
Number 3: Do not waste time blaming others. When a problem arises, to blame others will only bring about bitterness and unhappiness thereafter. To blame the circumstances when things are not in your favour is a negative and passive attitude of life. From the Buddhist perspective, this is known as negative energy; and a mentality lacking self-confidence and the ability to undertake responsibilities.
Number 4: Do not compare with others, as it is an utter waste of time. The more you compare, the unhappier you will be. Being joyful and happy are personal feelings. They are not derived from our comparison with others.
