How to relieve a gassy baby I had the chance to experience the joy of a gassy baby. She probably also suffered from colic. The gas and cries lasted for what seemed forever. In addition to the fact that I didn't really know what I was doing, the constant cries and screams made my days and nights so stressful for the first few months. How long did it last? Gas, colics and other symptoms due to baby's immature stomach development lasts for up to five months for most babies (something to look forward to right). Because I'm lucky I copped it for around about a year. How to help baby relieve some tension by popping off? Massage baby's tummy. Make clockwise gentle massages. Bicycle movements with baby's legs and gentle pressure. Bring the knees to baby's tummy and press gentle. It will help baby passing gas. If breastfeeding, think of reducing gassy food yourself such cabbage, onion, curry...also milk! baby can have a slight intolerance to dairy which might produce extra gas in its tummy. (That was the case for my little one) If formula feeding, talk to your doctor. Baby might be dairy intolerant and might need to change formula. Something I used to do during the day to help with napping was put a small wheat bag (cold not warm, just used for the weight) on her tummy when she was asleep. The weight of the wheat would help her pass the gas. If anyone else has any tips for anyone else please share.
