AN (IN)FORMAL EXPLANATION.

i have to talk about this before i chew my own arm off.

Maverick and Rainy's relationship is best described as frustrating. At least when it comes to how their mindsets clash with one another.

For context! Rainy has always been the "level-headed" one of the family, you need to be in order to keep so many secrets for the Boss! Even with such a level head however, stress is easy to accumulate, double that with being kidnapped and shot in the face and you broke the camels back, so to speak!

( a bit of rambling below! as well as cw! blood!)

It was a fact that if you died you could just come back, he had seen it time and time again, it wasn't a surprise when he woke up in a bed... okay well, it was a bit of a surprise, but who could blame him?

it was a first, and in any other circumstance, I would think traumatic!

To put it simply, reality broke a little for him. Rainy began to... ask questions he didn't really think of asking before. What exactly brought them all back? Why? What brought them back exactly? He knew of "Father" but who was "Father" anyway? It's not like he could talk to anyone about such a thing, the Boss had chosen him specifically to keep his mind a vault, being someone's Eyes and Ears is no easy feat, i assure you! A title with a heavy weight. You could almost say it was an awakening to the web of lies and soft spoken words he was so delicately placed in the center of. How distressing!

Of course, reality would set in, and Rainy's usual cool and collected demeanor cracked a little, and since Maverick was always nearby, he was always there to witness the waves of distress befall him.

Not that it happens all the time! Just... you know!

Don't even get me started on Maverick... the poor guy has been through the ringer, and Rainy is simply the icing on top of the angst cake.

needless to say, Rainy has become disinterested with life in a way, and because of this he kind of became reckless his own. (not that he goes out of his way to do anything dangerous! he just doesn't care to be as careful anymore, which in turns stresses Maverick out!)

It doesn't help with them being as close as they are, and it especially hurts Maverick to see Rainy in such a state.

Ahhh, what is he to do? He can only dream of better things.

okay fine. maybe i'm a little obsessed with annabeth thinking all of her close relationships were transactional and conditional until she met percy. maybe i'm a little obsessed with annabeth having difficulty expressing just how significant their friendship is to his face and barely getting the chance to before he turns to gold. maybe i'm a little obsessed with annabeth's willingness to put a quest, something she's wanted since was seven, on pause to save her friend. obsessed, but only just a little.

No relationship gets to me as much as Jin Ling and his jiujiu.

Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling loved each other the most, they're number one priority for each other, and seeing as Jiang Cheng was always used to not being put first, and that Jin Ling never had anyone else who put him first–

It makes me emotional. They're all they have. Jiang Cheng will always be the one to come to Jin Ling's aid. Jin Ling will always be the one who knows Jiang Cheng best.

This scene is officially my favorite scene of them!! His ranting and jealousy because jeongwoo was worried about haseol and then he made jokes to make him laugh?!!! He literally couldn't connected with him for few hours and went crazy looking for him and then was so worried he was hurt detective noh your love is showing!! This whole scene screams married to me

THIS!!! how is that a normal line?? How I'm supposed to think they're friends when this exit?! He's so in love with jeongwoo his smile is everything to him he makes jokes just to see him smile and ease his worries I love them so much

Is anyone else crying thinking about how physically affectionate Inej is able to be Jesper? Inej has this horrible trauma, and explicitly said that contact with others is difficult, and yet there are so many instances in the book of her hugging Jesper, of him hooking his arm through hers, of her getting on her tiptoes and kissing him in the cheek.

That she feels safe enough around him to be so casually affectionate- shows not only her incredible emotional strength- but also the amount of trust, and of love, she must have in him.

With Jesper, Inej feels safe. With Jesper, Inej is allowed to be light and fun and just a little bit silly, acting like the teenager she should be.

I love these two so much :)
