There are so many things that I still haven't accomplished and sometimes I worry because I have a strange feeling that time is running out. As I look back, a part of always wonder if my younger self would be proud of what I have become?

I think it’s time I wrote you.

I wish I could stretch my arms into the past and hug you.

I know you didn’t know how to express yourself so let me try to now.

I’m sorry you felt alone in world with billions of souls.

I’m sorry no one came to your rescue.

I’m sorry you stopped talking when no one wanted to listen.

I’m sorry you dimmed your light for a fraction of attention from a boy.

I’m sorry that you had to parent your parent.

I’m so proud of the girl you were and the woman you become.

I’m proud you still choose to lead with love.

I’m proud you don’t settle.

I’m proud you love yourself enough to know you deserve to be here, to be heard and loved.

Yes, you are going to suffer because that is part of our existance

I’m telling you this because is important  for you to know that this thing that is making you suffer will not last forever and that we came up with something to go through this .

If I could I would tell 8th grade me that liking fanfiction and fandom life wasn't a bad thing, we just weren't surrounded by people like us yet.

Because 24 year old me is a part of fandom communities that span the globe. And I know it would have made younger me feel so much less alone.
