The plan carries on apace.

My next step is a mildly uncomfortable one. I have avoided all of the nightbrother enclaves which surround the nightsister's temple. I have especially avoided the one where my brothers live. Will they recognize me? Will they disdain me? These are questions I have not bothered to waste time on.

In order for Asajj and I to fake a Selection well enough, I must integrate with one of the villages and show up to the occasional Selection. Participation in a few, and subsequently destroying any sisters that try me, will make it seem... more natural, when we stage ours.

Despite not wanting to deal with it, I have returned to the nightbrother village where I lived briefly as a child. In order to smooth the way, I have brought a freshly killed verne. A large buck.

We shall see if this tribute is sufficient enough for me to be welcomed in.

A Mandalorian Halfa Jedi?

I am thinking... about my Danny Phantom x Star Wars AU again. I mentioned this in the Haunting Heroes discord server, but imagine this:

Danny gets lost in the Star Wars universe, maybe they're part of the same universe, maybe not. We know that Earth technically exists there, so it's possible. Nonetheless, Danny gets lost and is eventually picked up by the Jedi. It is during the Clone Wars era, at the height of the war. Ectoplasm either functions the same as the Force out in larger space, or it easily passes off as the Force. Therefore, Danny is considered Force-sensitive and brought to the Jedi council.

He's far too old, older than even Anakin was, but he already displays some skill with the blade (thanks to his mom's training), and he's far too powerful with the Force to leave for the Sith or Dark Side users running about to find him. Those like Count Dooku or Asajj Ventress or whoever Dooku's master is (and, depending on the timeline, Maul and his brother Savage as well).

It's decided that Obi Wan should train him, since he did well with Anakin despite Anakin's older age for a youngling and lack of familiarity with Jedi customs and culture. As well as Obi Wan's own young age as a Padawan himself at the time. Surely, Obi Wan could whip him into shape and they need all the help they can get on the field.

Anakin does not like Danny at first. Not at all. He might have joked all he liked beforehand about Obi Wan getting another padawan, but seeing it happen is an entirely different experience. Danny gets along well with Obi Wan, with his dry, witty humor and his tendency for unorthodox strategy. Worse still, Ahsoka likes Danny. These two are peas in a pod, partners in crime. It feels like he's been forgotten and replaced and by someone seemingly better.

And then one day, when the 212th and the 501st are stationed together, he finds Danny shaking with night terrors, the Dark Side so strong in him Anakin is literally freezing from the cold. It's only then that he understands Danny a little bit better, and sees himself in this kid. Danny fights the Dark Side within him just like he does, and he never lets it consume him. Maybe for once, he can learn a little something from this kid too, and not let it overwhelm him.

And here is the part where I realized a golden opportunity:

What if the Jedi think Danny is a Mandalorian that was cast out for being Force-sensitive? Danny has an affinity for weapons beyond the blade, like cannons and guns and snipers. He talks about how his family taught him to use these weapons, that he's known this all his life. He talks about how his family wears suits all the time and hardly ever takes them off. He talks about always being afraid to reveal his powers to his parents, and how ultimately he ran away because of them.

Oh all the scenarios that could come out of this~

But now I'm also thinking about how strong Danny would feel in the Force. How much Danny could do on the battlefield because now he doesn't have to hold back. Droids might have more intelligence than a lot of sentients give them credit for, but if it's between the very alive, flesh and bone, clones of the Grand Republic Army and the Separatists' metal droids, Danny is absolutely going to be ruthless if it means the clones are safe.

Danny can literally control the weather. Imagine what happens when Danny creates an electrical storm for the first time to take down an enemy starship and the clones just look between themselves, whispering about how: "I didn't know Jedi could do that." "Is that how the Force works?" "Kriff if I know-"

And that's another thing! Clones! Danny would be absolutely appalled that so many clones were created and their freedom at the end of the Clones Wars is still up in the air.

It also ties beautifully with his love for space and now he's living the dream! Except space isn't what he thought it would be. And there are planets out here that have barbaric standards. It's the adventure of a lifetime! But there's a part of him that still wants to go home.

Just- all the possibilities and shenanigans this could bring. ✨

Sins of the Past: Family Tree

Current family tree for the disaster lineage at this point in my Sins of the Past modern au! Although bare in mind that a lot of these characters are probably dead by this point.

Yoda moved to the United States from Japan to open his own karate studio. And  despite having lived in the county for nearly seventy years, still refuses to speak English traditonally. He adopted one of his favourite students Dooku, after the death of the boy's parents. As an adult, Dooku would often travel the globe using his deceased parents large amount of wealth to establish connections for his business. On his travels, he would adopt Irish born and naturally gifted Qui-Gon Jinn as a young boy.

Similarly, as an adult Qui-Gon would love to travel although his was more for spiritualist reasons. On his travels he would adopt British born Obi-Wan as a child and being him back to the United States to raise him. Anakin would be taken away from his mother Shmi, by social services at the age of nine and Qui-Gon would then adopt him too. Shmi would get herself back on her feet and marry Cliegg Lars who had his own son Owen. Anakin would not be aware of this until years later. As a young child, Ahsoka was rescued by social worker Plo Koon from potentially being trafficked, and Qui-Gon adopted her as well. Qui-Gon still travelled a lot after adopting his children, often leaving Obi-Wan to be their primary care giver. After a falling out between Dooku, Yoda and Qui-Gon, Dooku would become estranged from the family.

Talzin Ventress had daughters, Lai and Kycina. Kycina would get married and have three sons, Maul, Savage and Feral. Unfortunately her husband died shortly after Feral was born. Lai would have her own daughter Asajj. Near the end of Asajj's Freshman year of high school, her mother would marry Dooku, making him her step father. About a year later Lai would die, leaving Asajj in Dooku's care. She would live with him until she was around nineteen, when they too had a falling out and Dooku would die not long after. 

Tholm was a former student of Yoda's and was best friends with Qui-Gon Jinn. Tholm would adopt Quinlan Vos. Whilst on holiday in France, Quinlan would rescue orphan Aayla Secura from a dangerous situation and Tholm would adopt her too, taking her back to the United States. Quinlan and Obi-Wan grew up together. And because their parents were best friends, they were going to be best friends too whether they like it or not. Quinlan and Obi-Wan would end up dating for a while in middle school but realised that they were better off as friends. Quinlan would later end up eloping with Asajj. Aayla would marry Bly. Plo Koon approached Aayla for help translating, when he rescued Numa, an orphan girl who only spoke French. Aayla and Bly would end up adopting her.

In which Death Watch enter the enemy ship, and Asajj gets her shot at freedom.

Zombie Savage AU | 2.5k | warning for body horror

For the first time in weeks, Asajj feels light. It’s almost offensive, how quickly she slipped from world-devouring grief and heartburn and eternal nightmares into mission planning and execution mode, but then again: she enjoys bounty hunting. Pursuit and infiltration are basically her comfort zone, and even the present company cannot spoil her thrill.

She finally has solid ground under her feet again. The swamp that broils and laps at her with every dream and with every wriggling fleshworm that fucking Savage Opress sends her way is receding, and soon enough, when she gets her chance, she’ll kill it off—kill him—for good.

Asajj’s sisters and Mother Talzin may have accidentally landed her in a malignant trap when they tried to help her fight Dooku, but Asajj will chew her way free.

That’s why she volunteered to be ground troop today. She needs to rescue herself. She needs to cut off this bond, cut off the mate, cut off the drowning boulder. She’d been prepared to argue and fight for the opportunity, since it’s not like anybody trusts her here, but it was surprisingly easy. Not even a doubtful look—no, the only response she’d received was appreciation for her fearlessness in the face of certain death. Well, maybe it is. Maul keeps insisting that Savage’s torture is a trap laid by Sidious, his past shadowy Sith Master, and that setting a foot on Entralla means getting fried and disappeared and tortured. He himself is going down still, obviously—by now it doesn’t even appear to be bravado or tending to his image before his following but genuine mushy affection for that dumb creature, and if Asajj wasn’t busy she might almost be curious—Maul is coming down with her, as are Kast and Saxon and three dozen other supercommandos. That’s what they’d settled on, once their advance droid surveillance footage yesterday had revealed their target to be a small spaceship surrounded by a hundred medium-sized tents.

Maul, Kast and Saxon at once, who as far as she’s observed are the three highest-ranking members of Death Watch, and on what all of them believe is a suicide mission—Asajj would call them brain-dead, but actually, she doesn’t care. Either Maul is every inch the scared wretch of a cast-off Sith plaything he appears and is making mountains out of skrant-hills, or she’ll, most likely, be dead too. Looks like that gamorrean sow Kast likes to suck face with will soon inherit the whole sorry rest of their terrorist crew.

Most of Death Watch, though, is inside three hundred small Kom’rk-class fighters or the two stolen Separatist dreadnaughts, standing by to intercept any fleeing ship with gravity wells or sheer violence. Well. That’s one of the reasons. Every ground Mando is in periodic radio contact with one of their motherships, and should they go silent when Sidious gets them… if the mission goes sour, dead man’s switch. Asajj doesn’t know about the exact logistics of how many have to miss check-in before the omnicidal aerial bombardment begins… but she’s starting to understand Maul’s paranoia regarding this ‘Sidious’ well enough to know they’re going to risk killing their Mand’alor sooner rather than later. It’s reassuring, almost. They’ll kill Sidious no matter what.

Well. And her, too.

But Asajj knew when she allowed that Mando to think she’d captured her that this wasn’t going to be easy. Up until know she’s always found a way to make it out alive. She’ll manage. And Sidious killed her sisters. Killed Talzin. Killed Dathomir.

Sidious will die, and so will Opress. Anything else is secondary.

She’s wearing a set of scavenged armor over her clothes and a jetpack and a gas mask, nothing more. Most of the ground team have massive tanks mounted on their back, too, full of some quick heavyweight airborne soporific Death Watch managed to procure on short notice.

(“If it’s taking this long to cook something up, we could just use poison,” Asajj had suggested, entirely not for selfless reasons. “We’re using the weedkiller tanks you Mandos use for farming, after all. We could just keep the weedkiller.”

“This is still a rescue mission,” Kast had replied severely. Unfortunately, despite being a fanatic terrorist and obeying Maul of all people and a habit of throwing tantrums about the horrible plight of Savage Opress, she wasn’t entirely braindead. “Damage is acceptable, but we won’t kill our brother.”

Maul had looked on, silent.)

Maul and Asajj are going to enter the ship first. That makes sense—both of them are assassins more than soldiers, they’re better than the Mandos at keeping quiet—and even if Maul will be a hindrance when they find Savage, she can use him as a distraction before that.

It feels weird, somehow, touching ground in front of the enemy’s ship. The unconscious guards on the ground are wearing clone trooper armor, which means that—yes, it means Death Watch got the drop on them and it means the soporific gas is effective, which is great, but Asajj didn’t expect this mission against Sidious to include a Grand Army of the Republic protection detail, and neither did Maul, though he appears far less perturbed by this information than Asajj is. Nothing before has linked Sidious to the Republic. She trusts the magicks she used to find this location, though. This is where the bondmate is being held.

Maul opens a control panel next to the ship’s door and plays around with a couple of screwdrivers, while Mando supercommandos direct their sedative gas into the ship’s pried-open air vents.

And… they’re in.

Too easy.

This was far too easy for a secret prison of the illusive Sith Lord, and Maul, apparently, thinks so too. He keeps glancing sideways at her while the supercommandos tie up the sedated soldiers outside and while they enter the ship’s galley, and he insists they shouldn’t split up.

“This location does not appear my Master’s—my former Master’s style,” he whispers in his clipped accent. “It’s neither desolate, nor are there plush red carpets. It’s not a torture dungeon.” Maul looks at Asajj, and his eyes gleam with suspicion. “If you have lied to me, you are dead. If this hurts my brother, you’ll wish you were.”

“This is the place. My sisters’ magicks are never wrong,” Asajj replies haughtily. It won’t do any good if both of them admit to their unease.

(Maul’s been vibrating faintly ever since Asajj broke into his brain to find Opress. It’s probably fear and anticipation, and most of all the superfluous awareness of him that she’s gained ever since exploiting both their bonds. Maybe he was always this high-strung.

“Someone’s attacking him,” he’d whispered to her just minutes before they reached Entralla, as if by joining their minds she had proven she cared. His eyes had been dark, agonized. In a movement that appeared entirely involuntary, he’d gripped at his neck as if looking for a pendant, and then he’d hugged himself, holding onto his torso and stomach as if his slippery entrails were ready to leak out.

Asajj had looked down and realized she was mirroring him.

When she slid her eyes half-shut, she could see the shadows of undulating metal cables.)

The ship, on the inside, just appears a standard Republic cruiser. It has a single long hallway that Asajj is pulled down by the worms in her gut, and Maul, frowning and broadcasting dread, follows.

They pass unconscious Republic clones at uneven intervals.

It’s so—ordinary. Asajj knows these ships. And there are no traps at all, just that pulsing connection drawing her forwards, shading and twisting, the memory of desolation and grief and that orange boy getting chocked (Kast’s eyes were so hard when she said, “He tried to give me his lightsaber, too, so I would have an easy time of killing him, if—when, he said, when he was used again to hurt his little brother,” that Asajj almost felt guilty) and everyone on Dathomir is dead and—

There.

She stops, and Maul comes to a halt behind her, ‘saber raised.

An open doorway, half-blocked by an armored redhead that seems vaguely familiar, and the beckoning hand of her sisters, and if Sidious doesn’t have the heart to provide a distraction for Maul then Asajj will just improvise.

“Back there, I think,” Asajj whispers, pointing at a random closed door to her left. “I can feel your brother in there.”

Maul’s eyes are wide. “I do not feel—are you sure?” he whispers, and he looks so young and hopeful bathed in the green glow he doesn’t understand and never had a right to wear that Asajj almost dares to believe her plan will work.

“I know these magicks,” Asajj drawls. “I don’t mind double-checking, but I thought you wanted him as alive as possible. He’s not doing well. Might get deep-fried at any moment, that’s not healthy for such a weak brain.”

It works. Maul bites back whatever kind of response he might have had, and he starts frantically working on slicing the door that was—her sisters are smiling upon Asajj—thankfully locked.

Asajj, meanwhile, tiptoes hurriedly forward and past the redhead—almost a decent glimpse of his head, why does she feel she knows him and—and inside the room she looks at a monster. The scene is arranged as if to mock her, a single bare cot in the middle of the room approximating a stone slab and the dimmed red electric lights a stand-in for the fire on the day she was tied to the boulder that tries to drown her. On the cot, as he was supine on the slab back then, lies unconscious Savage Opress.

Well. The used dog toy formerly known as Opress.

He’s always made her uncomfortable, even when they met. First, it was his silent bruised obsequiousness and the glances he’d shoot her after that arena fight, like he expected her to ravish him then and there just because she’d beaten him up. The sense that she’d stumbled into a world she didn’t understand drawn in silent rules and violence and sex—and Asajj has never liked that anxiety born of ignorance though she can and will tough it out and persevere, and only with the bond strangling her did she realize her stupid mistake—the sense that there was something hiding below her feet ready to devour her. He only got more obsequious and annoying after the ritual that tied Asajj to him, with his empty brainless eyes that somehow simultaneously said do whatever you want with me and I’ll kill you. She was happy to use him, if it got her traitorous ex-Master Dooku off her back, but she was at least as happy that the plan included Opress staying at Dooku’s side, not hers. Well, in the end, he was as useless as he was stupid and creepy, and Asajj had to fight Dooku on her own while Opress escaped his leash and used the power gifted to him by Talzin to harass innocent villagers and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

He doesn’t have the body that Mother Talzin gave him anymore. Not that he ever deserved it.

Savage Opress, who is bound by ancient magicks to Asajj, looks like someone took his corpse and stuffed it full of a crashed spaceship debris in a desperately poor attempt at covering up an accident. The body Mother Talzin’s Dathomiri magicks gave him was stout, forceful, architected and executed with a keen eye and deep control, while whoever did this was a careless butcher. Asajj has seen carnage and pain, she’s fought and killed and maimed, and yet she has never seen anything as bestial as the body before her.

Savage Opress, who is making her share his torture through a telepathic bond, looks like a gutted carcass. This is what became of one of the three last survivors of Dathomir: worms writhe in and out of him, the things she’s been feeling like phantom maggots burrowing into her heart made real and she can see them feasting and seaming up his raw mottled shoulders and lap at the empty spots where someone tore out his hearts. He’s still conscious, though, just asleep. She can feel him feeling the worms. She can see him breathing, though he doesn’t need to, not without an intact torso. Not without hearts. She feels sick. So this is what has been calling out to her. What has been sliding into her mind, unstoppable and unwanted. This has violated her dreams.

Savage Opress, the bondmate Asajj came here to covertly murder, looks like death would be a mercy.

“Ventress, what are you playing at? The room was empty and Kenobi is here,” Maul hisses from somewhere behind her. “I told you. You’ll die for your betrayal—Savage…”

Asajj turns, expecting a fight, but Maul looks like the air was punched out of him, and he’s rooted to the doorway. The air around him tastes of abhorrence and dawning dread. He could have reached Savage before her, in her stupor—he could have jammed his ‘saber into her back—but now she’s jolted loose and ready to take her one chance at freedom.

To take mercy on Savage, for once in her life.

She drives her lightsaber into his right eye socket.

Maul’s scream behind her is vile, deeply inhuman and guttural and echoing over and over and over in the small room. It’s so loud her eye starts to hurt. His howl is the storm and the cave and the first drink in a lifetime. It’s green. It’s gentleness and sympathy he thought his Master had long driven out of the apprentice, but in teaching Savage he can’t help but refrain from using the techniques he once had endured himself. He doesn’t understand the reason—he is Sith and if he does not teach his apprentice to draw power from pain, he will have failed him. He doesn’t understand, but he feels something quake when he is called brother and when he notices he turned his back to Savage and never even expected to get hurt—he doesn’t understand, but somehow, he does. He loves Savage. Savage loves him. Maul was never meant for love, was made a weapon to be used and abused and discarded by a Master wielding power he’ll never attain, but somehow, Maul found this one person who loves him. Maul lost the person who loves him. Maul just lost him again. Maul won’t lose the person who loves him. He won’t. He can’t. He refuses. He loves—

And desperate love paints the room acid green. Greedy love tears the cot to tiny metal shreds. Unconditional love presses hot and painful into Asajj’s right eye, and she’s taking tiny measured steps toward Savage, in rhythmic unison with Maul and unstoppable no matter how hard she tries to take back her body.

Love, no matter what it takes, and both their green-bathed hands touch Savage.

All goes black.

gonna be a mix of “canon” moments and moments that happen in this sithmates AU :)

vader: he built a stunt course in GTA for the rest of the sithmates to race in, inviting luke and leia to play as well. not only was vader extremely proud of his racetrack (he even got a compliment from dooku)---everyone had a blast playing it. there was lots of screaming and cutthroat driving, but it was all in good fun. he may or  may not have let leia win.

sidious: when he manipulated everyone and become supreme leader of the whole galaxy!! ho ho, good times!!... why are you all looking at me like that?

maul: he couldn’t avoid her indefinitely. he had realized things were different now, he knew she wouldn’t blame him for what happened. still, the thought of seeing kilindi again made him feel sick. talking to her again wasn’t a good memory---far too many emotions, maul literally falling to his knees from the weight of them---but what came after the fact. kilindi messaging him, asking if he and his brothers want to go swimming. and this time, maul smiling and replying “yes”.

savage: definitely those days when feral was around 5 or so. past the terrible two’s, yet still so young and sweet. he remembers guiding feral’s little hands on his training bow, helping him get a near-bullseye in the shooting range. it was more savage than feral, really, but the look of shock and delight on his brother’s face when it landed is one he’ll remember forever. 

asajj: coming back to dathomir wasn’t as easy as she wished it would be. the sisters treated her with suspicion at first, and despite being one of them asajj felt like she didn’t belong. she barely remembered the planet as it was. but then.. as talzin welcomed her home, bathed her in the water of life (the ritual before left much to be desired), the sisters celebrated and danced with her as if she had always been a part of them. as if she had always belonged. for once, asajj wasn’t alone.

dooku: the day jinn officially introduced himself as dooku’s padawan. he was so honest and wise for a youngling. they hadn’t had any time to even begin developing a force bond, yet dooku could feel it bloom in that very moment, warm and bright in his mind’s eye. of course every day after that was a good memory, too, but it was that initial spark, that initial hope, that dooku will never forget.

kylo: it’s a little fuzzy, but kylo remembers bits and pieces of visiting kashyyyk with uncle chewie. the magnificent forests that stood strong despite all that they had suffered, the back-breaking hugs of chewie’s family.. of course, chewie is a warm and kind memory in and of himself. 

nihilus: he wishes he could remember something from before. he’s certain there is good in it. lately, though, nihilus finds he no longer needs to mourn that fact. vader suggested that he reach out to visas a while back, and though nihilus struggled with the notion for a while, eventually the two met up in the park. there are still things they need to work on, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions he’s made in his afterlife.

grievous: when grievous and ordo sat down together on a lone grassy hill, with nothing but the wind and their quiet conversation to keep them company. it was then that grievous told him about yonderu, about all of his old life in kalee. it was painful to even think about, much less talk about, but ordo held his hand throughout the whole thing. a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, and for once in his life grievous thought he might be able to start again. with ordo.

inquisitor: there is bitterness crawling on the edges of the memory---knowing how it would all change as he grew older---yet the inquisitor still looks back on it fondly: himself, a tiny youngling, gaping in wonder at the enormity of the jedi archives. not even knowing where to start reading. it’s much better nowadays whenever he visits a library, knowing he has full access to whatever he damn well pleases. 

lana: odessen. when the alliance was growing strong, their hopes of defeating arcann and his damned eternal empire cautiously raised (a thought made all the sweeter in the present, knowing they did)... and briefly, ever so briefly, a glimpse of what lana could only dream of: friends and allies from all sides, relaxing and spending time with each other. peace.

bonus!feral: he and his brothers decided to take a trip to an amusement park all by themselves. every moment feral spends with maul and savage is precious, but seeing his older brothers smile and have the time of their lives with him is something he’d never give up for anything in the world. also, cotton kriffing candy

Continuation on modern gay star wars AU/Part 2 I guess. This really needs a title

Anyways, Ahsoka doesn’t remain a six year old, and soon she starts school. 

She quickly befriends one of her classmates, Barriss Unduli, that she knew from before, playdates and all that

But another person she knew from before was her sort of aunt but not really, Asajj Ventress

Asajj is the niece of Dooku, the cousin of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan’s sort of first cousin once removed

(I won’t even bother looking up what that makes Ahsoka)

Asajj was abandoned early in her life, and moved from foster home to foster home for six years, before ending up at her uncle's place, half a year before starting school

Dooku, just like Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan (And the rest) fought in a war, though not the same one, together with his brother. 

After the death of his son, his relationship with Kenobi became strained.

But now Dooku lives with his niece and his very angry pug Grevious and tries to keep as good contact with his brother as he can.

His brother is named Mace Windu, also war veteran, though he suffers from heavy PTSD

He too had a soldier child, a daughter named Depa, who unfortunately passed just like her cousin.

The father of these three (Including Asajj’s unnamed mother) is Yoda, an extremely old man who speaks in riddles and metaphors and refuses to die

Asajj, aside from Qui-Gon and Depa, and two other cousins, Savage and Maul Opress.

Savage and Maul both grew up in an extremely abusive household with their mother, Talzin.

Savage is the older, and is extremely protective of his brother who is not always mentally there.

Maul, the younger of the two, is the same age as his cousin and met both Ahsoka and Barriss through her, a couple of weeks after starting school.

Surprisingly, Barriss and he clicked quite well, and in turn he befriended Ahsoka as well, though the two of them have more of a love-hate relationship

Savage on the other hand found a friend in a scrawny boy named Feral, who he for some reason took a liking too. Just like with his younger brother, Savage will protect Feral with his life

(Yes I ship the two of them leave me alone)

Anyways, back to the skywalkers, because now the twins have grown, and holy shit do they look different

Ahsoka’s theory is that someone saw Leia on their doorstep and left Luke after her

But anyways, the twins quickly have the family wrapped around their fingers, with Leia being a daddy’s girl and Luke a Papa’s boy.

Padmé is also around a lot with Satine, being godmothers and everything, and she managed to learn Anakin how to braid Leia’s hair.

She also tried with Obi-Wan, but he is literally incapable of doing it.

Wait did I ever go over what the space gays actually work with?

Obi-Wan is a lawyer, because of course he is!

(After the war I went back to New York, I finished up my studies and I practiced law)

Anakin on the other hand is a mechanic where he worked specifically with motorbikes

One of his best work buddies is a woman named Hera Syndulla

Let’s talk about the only straight ship here, because I actually ship these two

Hera is a french woman, who again is a mechanic

She is happily married to a cop named Kanan Jarrus, an orphaned boy who wants nothing to do with his extended family 

His mother is Depa, in case someone didn’t figure that out.

The two of them accidentally made their home a foster home for three kids, Garazeb Orrelios, Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger.

Garazeb, or just Zeb came from a large family, where he was the oldest brother.

His heritage is originally Italian (If someone knows what the Lasat’s are inspired by, please tell me, because I just got a lot of Italian vibes from him. Dunno why), though his family moved from the country a few generations back

He lost his mother, father, and four younger siblings at the age of eight in a fire

He pretty much immediately ended up at Kanan and Hera’s, where he was reluctant for w long while, until Sabine

Sabine lost her family at six back in Australia, and she was then moved to the US after a few failed foster families. 

Hera and Kanan happily welcomed the troubled and grumpy child

She got along with Zeb though, so the two had each other as moral support.

Ezra, unlike the other two, was stumbled upon on the street by Kanan, trying to steal his wallet. Kanan, as a police, of course had instincts that kicked him and grabbed the boy harshly by his arm

Ezra was nine at the time, still young and fragile, and Kanan saw the broken look in his eyes, the same one he’d had after losing his mother.

So he, by everyone's surprise, took him in.

And now the very odd family was completed!

Oh, and they have a cat named Chopper. Basically only Hera likes that cat

And Obi-Wan has a pet lizard named Boga

Savage Wolf: SW AU

In case it doesn’t get posted tonight, here are my notes already for my SW What If?: What if Plo Koon took Savage Opress as his Padawan. 

Like Plo Koon calls Ahsoka, lil’Soka - he calls Savage “young Savage” because while we don’t know his actual age the Selection rights bare resemblance to rights of passage young men go to become men (i.e. become eligible as mates) thus making it that he’s probably on the younger end of adulthood. 

Savage was one his way to Dathomir when Wolfpack apprehended him and brought him back to their ship for interrogation before risking bringing him to the Jedi Temple. It’s here that Plo Koon learns about Feral, and realizes Savage has the potential for change. 

The Council at first wasn’t sure what to do with Plo Koon’s sudden new Padawan not just because he was a Jedi killer, but because he was a former Sith apprentice who was now training to become a Jedi. 

Wolffe begrudgingly adopts him because he knows how it feels to have Asajj Ventress get into your head. The others are more slow to it but eventually adopt their weird new Jedi. 

Savage, as a result of being Mother Talzin’s son, grows well versed in the ways of the Force and begins to have visions of another he could call brother. He sneaks out the temple one night to follow them. 

Obi-Wan isn’t too pleased when he brings back a raging Darth Maul, or maybe he finds him, and simply delivers him to Dathomir, before returning to Courasant. That could set up inevitable conflict upon their next reunion.

✩ ok, so on my to-read list is @mirandatam’s Jedi Shmi AU. I tend to hold back and wait so that I can later binge-read, and it is past time I got back to this one. Now at 8 parts and still in progress!

—✩’s are for @suzukiblu​ (aka Rin), who is currently on hiatus. The three starred stories in this list are the result of three wonderful authors taking up one of Rin’s masterful meta’s and running with them. 

Here’s another Jedi Shmi au, Obi-Wan and Shmi and the worst vision ever. I don’t actually know if this one was picked up by anyone else? 

You should also check out suzukiblu’s other au’s, maybe I missed something. (Even if I haven’t, Wookie Anakin and The Force Knocks Everybody Up are a sheer delight.)  

I’m just guessing here, but I suspect @skyywalkerfen’s Side-Slip might be headed in the Jedi Shmi direction… what with an older Obi-Wan appearing at the Temple and knocking over a lot of long-held Jedi Council beliefs… I’m just saying, anything’s possible. Keep an eye on this one :D

Leia appears as a Padawan near the end of In a Lonely Place and Ebon Wings, both of which I recommend regardless of the fact that it’s a brief mention. 

(Padmé also solves one of the twins’ Force puzzles in In a Lonely Place, which provides opportunity to Adi for some lovely puns :P)

I absolutely, highly recommend @tsaomengde’s Sith Apprentice: Darth Venge series for Jedi Maul (also, yay! time for me to get back to this and binge-read again). 

@swpromptsandasks—Moddy has a few AU’s that feature Padawan Maul. I am most fond of Old!Ben, but there are a couple more (actually, the latter is Obi/Maul). 

It turns out I too have a sort-of-Jedi Maul AU? Something of a surprise, I forgot about this… …………….Might actually go back to it. Maybe.

I have like a million other things that I’m in the middle of writing but I just had a thought that I felt the need to get down. Yeah yeah, it’s another crack AU idea... Such a surprise. I know. But still just imagine what might have been:

It is a time of supposed galactic stability. It will be decades yet before Sidious’ plans will come to fruition, and a certain Not-Yet-Negotiator is currently training under his Maverick Master as per canon. However in this universe there is one, marked difference.

In the halls of the great archives beneath the Jedi temple a minor cataloguing program designed to collate external references to Jedi deployed in the field (mentions in galactic news media, bounty descriptions, general gossip - the kind of things that might indicate a problem for long term missions) brings up a discrepancy for further review. It is the kind of thing which might easily be dismissed- a possible mention that cannot be appended to the relevant individual’s file because it is no longer in active circulation. This isn’t an unheard of occurrence; no program is perfect and it is easy to shrug off the match with a Jedi listed as having been deceased for years as being a false positive due to mistaken identity.

Which is what probably would have happened, had the Senior Padawan in charge of reviewing the system reports not had the unfortunate luck to have been caught sneaking an open container of Muja Juice into the archives by Madame Nu that morning and been dismissed for punishment duty. As a result it was the head archivist herself who ended up reading the report of a pirate arrested coming out of the Rattanak system, who in his interrogation happened to mention a man who bore a remarkable resemblance to Jedi Knight Ky Narec, missing, presumed dead, following the loss of his ship five years previously. Now Jocasta Nu is nothing if not meticulous, and instead of dismissing the report instead double checks the initial case - while not probable, it is possible that the ship may have made it to a nearby system, and Rattanak is within feasible distance...

As such, in this universe, the Jedi Order sends a team to Rattanak to investigate Ky Narec’s possible survival. And so it is that the long lost knight returns to the Temple.There is however consternation in the Council - Ky Narec’s return from the dead is an unexpected blessing, but at the same time he is loudly and vociferously demanding to be allowed to return and finish his self appointed mission. And then there is the matter of his preteen “Padawan”...

Asajj Ventress is indisputably strong in the force, but she has never seen the inside of the creche. When Ky found her she was already old for an initiate, and the years since have been focused on skills relevant to their immediate survival rather than providing a broad understanding of Jedi principles. But the bond between Master and Padawan is strong, and there is no question that her training must continue. But still, what is the council to to with a semi-feral Padawan who has spent years in an active warzone and her headstrong master who has an unshakeable belief in his own judgement?

The answer is obvious. Team them up with another problem pair and hope they balance each other out. And so it is that a smirking Master Yoda informs Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon that their expertise is required for a very special mission...

Qui-Gon is quite happy with his new assignment. Applying his years of experience to formulate an appropriate plan for dealing with the ongoing conflict on Rattanak is not easy, however Ky is a highly perceptive man and has an excellent understanding of the relative dynamics between the different players. The lost knight also has a delightfully dry sense of humour and is passionate in his defence of his student, which endears him very much to the older Master for a number of reasons. For his own part Ky Narec is pleasantly surprised by how well Master Jinn is actually listening to his arguments. Oh he challenges Ky’s conclusions, but he does not dismiss his knowledge or suggest that the situation might best be left to develop on its own (unlike other Jedi Ky could mention). Indeed, he suspects their proposal has a very good chance of working. 

Obi-Wan on the other hand is wondering how long the council intends to punish him for his various misdeeds. The Padawan he has been instructed to tutor is barely old enough to meet the standard definition of the term, has barely any understanding of most core teaching subjects and is only very begrudgingly separated from her master for more than an hour at a time. She is vicious, defensive and... and far too like himself in the wake of Melida/Daan. He remembers what it is like to be always on a hair trigger, always waiting for the next attack, desperately holding on to what you have because tomorrow it could be gone. He also remembers what it was like on his return. The scornful looks and disapproving frowns that left him feeling isolated, the endless nightmares and constant twitching at loud noises, the way the only one who seemed to have faith in him was his own Master - and little Asajj is far younger than he was... 

Asajj is not sure she likes the Temple, no matter how much Master Ky says she will learn to call it home. The food is good, and it’s nice not to have to worry about sentry duty, but the people are stupid. Do they think she doesn’t notice the way they look at her? The way the snicker just because she doesn’t know who some karking bigwig from the shouting hou... Senate is? Master Ky tells her not to worry, that she will catch up in no time, but he’s busy these days with the tall Master who makes the others groan and she’s been left with this Padawan Kenobi who seems just as stupid as the rest of them! Except... Padawan Kenobi never laughs at her in the mess hall for eating too fast, just hands her extra seed rolls to squirrel away in her robes for later. Padawan Kenobi might roll his eyes at her when she complains about her reading, but he doesn’t raise his voice or tell her she’s stupid. Padawan Kenobi will spar with her, and while he knows just what to say to get a rise out of Asajj he never toys with her or tries to embarass her. And come to think of it, he always seems to make enough noise for her avoid being startled by him. Maybe Padawan Ken... no, Obi-Wan isn’t so bad after all. It doesn’t mean she’s going to make life easy for him though!

To cut a long story short (and oh are there ever stories, because honestly the Council dearly begins to regret setting this up) Obi-Wan has a new friend and Qui-Gon has a new partner in crime.  Ky and Qui-Gon will watch in amusement while Obi-Wan and Asajj attempt to verbally eviscerate  whatever hapless individual has earned their scorn, and the Padawans will sigh and trade stories about reckless masters who can’t seem to go anywhere without attracting trouble. Over time (once Asajj has grown enough not to horrify civilians when she pulls our her blades) when one pairing gets into trouble more often than not it is the other who comes to bail them out. Which is more frequent than you’d think. Ky and Asajj are not diplomats. On the other hand given the trouble Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan usually end up causing, having a pair or terrifyingly efficient warriors familiar with the seedier side of the galaxy is a distinct advantage.

Which is why when the Temple loses contact with pair after sending them to negotiate an end to the trade dispute on Naboo, Ky and Asajj just look at one another and start preparing for an extraction mission. As it turns out they don’t need to launch as rescue as surprise surprise the pair turn up on Coruscant accompanying the missing Queen and with a new stray in tow...

Let’s backtrack a bit here. Because while the core events remained the same, the details do not. Qui-Gon Jinn lands on Tatooine and immediately starts cursing as he recalls everything Ky has told him about Outer Rim economics. Still, they need to do what they can, so into town he heads, with a foolish Gungan and a disguised Queen by his side. And when he meets Anakin Skywalker and his mother, Qui-Gon Jinn remembers a young Dathomiri Padawan matter of factly telling him “Hal’Sted wasn’t a bad master, it could have been much worse” before explaining exactly how in great depth, and his blood runs cold. 

Similarly, as their ship leaves behind the sand and suns of Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi looks at his Master’s newest acquisition and thinks “Two of them. Bant is never going to let me hear the end of this.” and proceeds to do his best to reassure the boy and get him settled because experience has taught him that the easiest way to deal with a non-Temple raised force sensitive is to earn their trust as quickly as possible and worry about attachment issues later.

(Oh Obi-Wan, you have NO IDEA what you’ve just done)

What happens next is up in the air. Perhaps there are two more Jedi on the return to Naboo. Perhaps it changes things, and Qui-Gon lives to sort out his mess. Perhaps it doesn’t, and two padawans lose their masters that day. Perhaps Maul swears vengeance against two Jedi instead of one, and Asajj first tastes the Dark as the Sith that might once have been a brother takes away not only the man she sees as her father, but the Master who supported them both from the start.

But perhaps it doesn’t change things. Perhaps a grieving Obi-Wan returns to the Temple with his tiny new Padawan only to be hugged within an inch of his life by a teenage menace who will flatly deny it if she is ever asked. Perhaps things are easier in a world where the Council has already had to deal with one overaged Padawan in the last decade (At least Skywalker doesn’t appear to be about to stab anyone who looks at him wrong). Certainly Obi-Wan has a better grip on Anakin’s lingering issues regarding slavery.

(”It's different.” Whispers an unusually gentle Asajj when little Ani asks her. “You are HIS Padawan, but he is YOUR Master, and you have a claim on each other.” She smiles. “And if you truly wanted to leave, he would let you go.”)

They’re not large changes, not world breaking shifts in the way the galaxy will turn. But that doesn’t matter. 

I just want you all to imagine Knight Ventress.

Knight Ventress who is the unacknowledged master of Jar Kai and whose appearance has been known to send pirates running to the authorities to give themselves in.

Knight Ventress who is sharp and righteous anger, but never lets the Dark take hold, because she has too much to protect.

Knight Ventress who appears out of nowhere to snark at Kenobi and pat Skywalker on the head even after he grows to be taller than her.

 Knight Ventress who has a horrifically complicated on-off relationship with Quinlan Vos that the entire Temple is trying to pretend Does. Not. Exist.   

Knight Ventress who stalks into the middle of the Council chambers following the Battle of Geonosis and icily demands to know why they are leading a slave army.

Knight Ventress who repeatedly engages Dooku’s assassin, the brutish Savage Oppress, knowing that they share a heritage and that had things been different it might have been a far darker master she was sold to.

Knight Ventress who teases Knight Skywalker about his new Padawan, and promising to corrupt her lightsaber habits.

Knight Ventress who takes one look at the Duchess of Mandalore and just smirks knowingly at Obi-Wan.

Just... Knight Ventress. 

Who stands beside Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi as they take down Darth Sidious and watch the galaxy still fall...

Isn’t it an interesting thought?

The seventh year is going to be an unforgettable year for the young and talented Anakin Skywalker, because it is the year of Triwizard Tournament. Since he entered the wizarding world, Anakin has desired almost nothing but win the Tournament. So of course he is exhilarated when his chance comes. In the meantime, Anakin finds himself fascinated by the newly-appointed professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, not only because the man is perhaps one of the youngest professors that Hogwarts ever had, but also because his style of teaching is so different from his predecessors. However, the future is not at all bright and brilliant for the young Skywalker, for the darkness looms ahead. Rumour has it that a certain dark lord is about to regain his power by interfering with the Tournament. Anakin's choices, therefore, affect both his own life and the entire wizarding world.
