"Gellert... I don't know. Ariana is getting worse by the day, we simply just can't go on like that. Aberforth is starting to have doubts and honesty... so am I."

The young man seated in the old armchair of the Dumbledore's House, gently reached out to touch the hand of his opposite.

"Al...don't you know who is doing this to your sister? You know it, I know you do. It's them muggles. They are suppressing us! Those incompetent little muggles are going to drive us into the abyss if we don't do anything! We could change that, think about it. We could all be free! Ariana could be free."

He charmingly smiled at the red-headed boy infront of him.

But Albus Dumbledore was having doubts and that was something that Gellert Grindelwald wasn't pleased with, not one bit.

"Albus...", Gellerts voice got quieter as he knew exactly how to change the other man's mind. "We would be the most powerful wizards in the history of this world. We can do this. You and I."

Albus' breath flattened as Gellert pulled him closer towards him.

"The two of us. Forever."

It was only a quiet whisper in the room.

"Forever?"

His fingers softly wandered across Dumbledore's lips.

"Yes,", a bittersweet smile on his lips, "forever."

Softly the man pressed his lips onto the ones of the older, whose doubts immediately vanished. He only felt the other mans soft lips, his hands that slowly pushed his jacket of his shoulders, their breath becoming one. He had already long been captivated by the younger and Gellert Grindelwald knew exactly how to use that.

1899, the Dumbledores House/Godric Hollows; the evening before Ariana Dumbledores (*1885-†1899) death and the disappearance of Gellert Grindelwald (*1883-†1998).

Closer Than Brothers Fic update bonus chapter: The Invisibility Cloak

Summary: With Merlin's help, Albus and Gellert find the Cloak, completing the set of the Deathly Hallows, but can they persuade old Mister Potter to part with it? Also, the boys "have some fun" visiting the Peverell Grave ;)

Excerpt: (they were just intimate)

After they separated, Gellert cast a quick Scourgify before pulling Albus into his arms, holding him securely as their breathing gradually slowed.  

Albus intertwined their fingers and let out a happy sigh.  “I love you so much,” he whispered.  “You’re so perfect, Gell, just the way you are.  When I’m with you, I feel seen.  You’re all I’ll ever want.  I’ve never been more content than I am right now, here with you.”

Gellert swallowed hard as he basked in Albus’ adoration.  He fingered out the pendant that hung around his neck that they shared.  “I’m so happy we’re betrothed from now until the end of time.  I’ll never let you go, Albus.  My love for you grows day by day.  Some days still I don’t know why you chose me, with all the complications that come with caring for me, but I’m grateful you did.  You could’ve abandoned me that first year we were together when I was being tormented by the Brotherhood from afar, but you stayed by my side.”  Gellert’s usually vibrant eyes grew haunted.  “I can never repay you for that.  I know I made your seventh year a living hell.”

“I’d do it all over again if I had to,” Albus assured him, giving his bondmate a little peck.  “But I doubt that will happen.  You’re in such a better place now.”

“Yes, but we’re still under Merlin’s divine protection.  Who knows what will happen when we get back to the real world and confront the Brotherhood head-on?”

“We’ll worry about that when it comes.  Come on, darling.”  Albus caressed Gellert’s right cheek, who leaned into the touch.  “It does no good to worry about the future.”

We as a society do not bring enough attention to the fact that Albus Dumbledore was a ginger. He probably had red hair gremlin energy.

Staring at those blues shift and turn like the current of a strong ocean. Ever changing and unyielding. "You can't." "I can't." Albus admits. "... I'll tell you a secret," he leans in and he feels Albus' breath hitches. "Tell me." "I'm gonna be the first. Swear it." "Why me?" "Because, you're the reason."

Grindeldore and Dumbledore Centric Fanfiction Ideas for People who Have the Time and Patience to Write them:

I'm an idea person with not a lot of time or follow through. Some of these are just tropes and concepts in Grindeldore fics, I like and want to see more of them.

Go nuts, have fun, and thank you for letting me get these out of my head

Sorry for the ramble you're about to read:

• Any masquerade / costume ballthemed fic, the more allegorical costumes, the better.

• More fanfiction that focuses on the political implications of the relationship. Bonus points if Vogel fails at flirting with one or both Gellert and Albus.

• Fantastic Beasts is set in the 1920s, but there are not enough nightclubs centered fics.

• Dumbledore's much needed and much deserved mental breakdown. That man so go postal at least once. Bonus points if he loses control of his magic along with his emotions.

• More fics about what Gellert and Albus were up to right after the summer of 1899. There is a very good fic on here that deals with this time frame where Albus is apprenticing with Flammel that is really good, especially with how they write Albus's mental state.

• I have this headcanon that Dumbledore was a spy during WWI. He's just built for spy craft in my mind. I also see Grindelwald being a field medic during this time, I think it's a cool explanation for his healing abilities we see in the first FB movie.

• Evil! Albus and Gellert AU with Albus playing the dipolmatic people's prince to balance Gellert's firey, hot-headed passion. But underneath Albus is definitely the scarier one, still reeling from losing the last of his family and becoming even more codependent on Gellert.

• Albus as a Tranfer student to Durmstrang AU. Strong dark academia potential with this and really fun avenues to play with the darker aspects of his and Gellert's relationship as well as Albus's character.

• The beloved attic wife Dumbledore trope but with Albus having a little more agency and badassery.

• Emperor Gellert and Albus versus young Tom Riddle. Think the 'Playing with the Big Boys' number from Prince of Egypt. Bonus points for two of them being the masters of death and Albus mastering the Resurrection stone. Extra bonus points for Albus and Gellert giving Mortica and Gomez Addams energy the whole time.

• The aftermath of Albus winning the duel. The Arrest, the trial, being awarded the order of merlin, having to hide the pain, and guilt.

• Mike Flannagan's Haunting of Hill House but with the Dumbledore Brothers and Gellert.

• Albus taking matters into his own hands after Myrtle's death, being reminded too much of Arianna and killing Tom Riddle. Having no one of turn to but Gellert.

• Any fic with emphasis on the high intelligence and massive magical talents of the two men.

• Albus, Newt and co, Vinda, and Gellert all being imprisoned together by magical or nonmagical bad-actors and having to work together to get out. Bonus points for Gellert and Albus being super in-sync with each other, and everyone notices it but them. Extra bonus points for Jacob being in utter disbelief that someone a kind as Albus could have been with the guy that literally brainwashed his wife and tortured him in public. Extra, Extra points if Albus and Gellert treat everyone like their kids for comedy. Great hurt and comfort potential for multiple ships.

Some common Grindeldore tropes I like being added to fics:

• Any fanfic that emphasizes Albus's depression and complete disregard for his own life and Gellert's own self- loathing and complex emotions about his actions. Bonus points if they are mutually horrified by the other's low opinions of themselves.

• Any fanfic that emphasizes how much the ministries truly suck, especially with how they basically want to use Albus as a weapon while also dealing with Gellert behind closed doors.

• These old wizards are absolute freaks. I will not be convinced otherwise.

• For two men who made a bloodpact and one who discovered the 12 uses of dragons blood, there is not enough blood magic in these fics.

Introducing my Grindeldore series: Armageddon

About me: I've been writing since I was very young, but due to life circumstances, I abandoned it for nearly 20 years. When I read Lesser Evil by Metalomagnetic, I rediscovered my old love for Dumbledore — a love so deep that I stopped following the series after HBP, only returning to see the ending last year — It also reignited my passion for writing.

The concept: To continue the story where Fantastic Beasts left off, up until the duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore.

The series:

Fanfic 01: Armageddon (T) The story begins in 1939 as Grindelwald invades Europe, starting with France, using the very strategies that Dumbledore developed during their brief past together.

Fanfic 02: Zugzwang (E) In this story, Grindelwald is consumed by his own dark magic and desperately needs Dumbledore's help to save himself.

Fanfic 03: Alekhine Cannon (T) The magic Dumbledore uses to heal Grindelwald creates a strange bond between their magic. They must decide whether to stay together or break this magical connection. This story also features Uagadou and the Brazilian Ministry of Magic.

Fanfic 04: Zeitnot (E) The conclusion of the series, culminating in the final duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore.

Final thoughts: I’ve written many stories since this one, but this is by far my favorite. This series holds great personal significance for me, as it was written during a particularly difficult time in my life, while struggling with depression due to health issues. I poured my heart into this story, and it would mean the world to me if you read it. I truly hope you enjoy!
