Sirius Black, known for his confident attitude and big ego, became a totally different person when it came to Y/n Potter, James' twin sister. From the moment he first saw her on the Hogwarts Express, he fell in love with her. Her bright eyes, her laughter that echoed through the halls, and her loyalty to her friends captivated Sirius in a way he couldn't explain.
However, every attempt Sirius made to impress her seemed to end in humiliation. Whether it was tripping over his own feet, accidentally dropping a potion in Potions class while he was trying to show off, or simply forgetting his words when she stared at him or smiled, Sirius managed to humiliate himself over and over again and the marauders found endless fun in his failed attempts.
One particularly incident occurred during a Gryffindor Quidditch match. Sirius had been practicing tirelessly, determined to catch Y/n's eye with his skills as a Seeker and impress her (again). As he zoomed across the pitch during the game against Slytherin, he spotted Y/n cheering enthusiastically in the stands. Heart pounding with nerves, Sirius dove towards the Snitch, only to misjudge his speed and crash into a ring, sending the Snitch away to the opposite end of the field. The entire stadium bursted into laughter, including Y/n, who clapped a hand over her mouth, trying to stifle her giggles.
"Nice one, Pad! Maybe next time you'll catch something other than the ground," James joked mercilessly after the match, laughing his head off, slapping Sirius on the back.
Sirius tried to laugh, but inside he felt enormous disappointment and shame. He had wanted with all his might to impress Y/n, to show her that he was more than just a prankster or a reckless troublemaker. But every time he tried, it seemed like he only managed to make a fool of himself.
Despite his repeated failures, Sirius refused to give up, she was worth it and he wasn't going to give up so easily. He found himself casting nervous glances at Y/n during meals in the Great Hall, trying to work up the courage to approach her. However, every time he decided to talk to her, his tongue would get stuck and his palms would sweat. Even simple greetings turned into awkward exchanges in which Sirius would end up stumbling over his words or making some ill-timed joke that fell flat.
One rainy afternoon, Sirius was sitting in his dorm with his friends. Peter and Remus were playing a game of wizard chess nearby while James lay on his bed playing with his snitch, occasionally casting sympathetic glances in Sirius' direction.
"You know, mate," Remus began tentatively, moving a knight on the board, "maybe you should just ask her out straightforwardly. None of this grand gesture stuff. Just be yourself."
Sirius sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I've tried, Moony. Every time I try to talk to her, I end up making a complete fool of myself. She probably thinks I'm an idiot by this point."
James chuckled "Nah, she doesn't think you're an idiot. Just a bit… charmingly clumsy as she told me."
Sirius rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help but smile at his friends' attempts to cheer him up. Deep down, he knew they were right. Maybe he had been going about it all wrong. Perhaps what Y/n needed was not grand gestures or witty banter, but simply honesty.
The next day, Sirius was walking through the black lake, letting his feet walk without any direction, however he realized that he was precisely addressing Y/n who was reading a book in front of the lake. His heart raced as he made his way over, his friends watching with anticipation from a distance.
"Here goes nothing," Sirius muttered under his breath, taking a deep breath to steady his nerves.
As he approached Y/n, she looked up and smiled warmly at him. Sirius felt his legs weak.
''Hey Y/n''
''Hey sirius, what's up?''
''everythings fine, um I wanted to ask you something''
Sirius felt his throat dry and his mind went blank.
''Are you okey sirius? you seem a bit...pale'' Y/n asked doubtfully, standing up and getting closer to Sirius.
''No! I'm good don't worry!'' Sirius was actually planning on pretending to faint, or running away.
''Okey?..Well anyways I also wanted to ask you something''
Sirius was about to open his mouth to let the words out but Y/n interrupted him.
''I was wondering if you'd like to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?" Y/n said smiling ear to ear
Time seemed to stand still for Sirius. His eyes widened in shock, his mouth hanging open. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Did she just ask him out before he could ask her?
Taken by surprise, Sirius took a step back, his heart racing even more. To his surprise, he tripped on a tree root and fell to the ground with a thud.
Laughter erupted in the distance, echoing through the garden. James, Remus and Peter had been responsible for these as they were almost crying of laughter, unable to contain their amusement at Sirius's latest fall.
Sirius lay on the ground for a moment, his face burning with shame. He stood up as quickly as he could, trying to maintain some semblance of composure and dignity.
Y/n rushed over to him, concern mixing with her laughter. "Oh my god!, are you okay?"
Sirius nodded, his cheeks still flushed. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just… just caught me by surprise, that's all."
Y/n chuckled softly, offering him a hand up. "Sorry about that. I couldn't resist."
Despite the embarrassment, Sirius couldn't help but grin. "No need to apologize. I… I'd love to go to Hogsmeade with you."
Y/n smiled wildly, relief evident in her eyes. "Great! It's a date then."
Sirius felt a wave of relief and excitement. He had managed to get through another embarrassing moment, but this time he had turned out better than he could have imagined.
As they separated, the rest of the marauders approached him, still laughing at him. James patted him on the back, shaking his head in amusement and hugging him by the side and Sirius couldn't help but do a little victory dance.
Despite all his fumbles and embarrassing moments, he knew one thing for certain: Y/n Potter was worth every stumble and every awkward pause.

The sun dipped low in the sky, casting golden hues across the Hogwarts grounds. As students flocked to the Great Hall for dinner, Remus Lupin lingered near the edge of the lake, a book clutched in his hand but neglected. His gaze was fixed on a figure shimmering in the last rays of sunlight—Y/N, a Hufflepuff with laughter that danced through the air like fireflies on a warm summer night. The other marauders were sprawled near him, their antics echoing while James was animatedly recounting another tale of his latest Quidditch exploits, his hands flailing dramatically.
“—and the Bludger nearly took my head off! Can you believe it?” he exclaimed, eyes sparkling.
Sirius leaned back, a smirk plastered on his face. “You mean it nearly took your ego off. You’re practically invincible, Potter.”
“Hey!” James shot back, tossing a piece of popcorn at him. “You’d be singing a different tune if it had hit me!”
“Oi, Moony!” James' voice broke through his reverie, punctuated by the sound of footsteps crunching on gravel. Remus turned, forcing a smile "Are you listening to us or-"
“Yes, prongs,” he replied, though his eyes flicked back to Y/N.
“Still staring at her like a lovesick pup?” Sirius Black grinned as he joined them, a teasing glint in his eye. “You know, if you keep this up, you might just scare her away.”
“Shut it, Pads,” Remus muttered, a blush creeping up his neck. “It’s not like that.”
“Sure, it’s not,” Peter Pettigrew chimed in, adjusting his hair as he caught up with the group. “You’ve only been watching her for weeks. Just confess already!”
Remus sighed, running a hand through his hair. “It’s not that simple. She’s… different. Perfect, really. I don’t want to ruin our friendship.”
“Or you’re just scared,” Sirius said, a smirk playing on his lips. “How about this? I'll maybe go talk to her i mean she's pretty good looking. Get a rise out of you. Then you’ll have no choice but to confess.”
Remus shot him a glare. “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Watch me,” Sirius said, his smile widening as he strode toward Y/N, who was laughing with her friends near a patch of wildflowers.
“Pads, don’t!” Remus called after him, but it was too late. Sirius was already leaning against a tree, his posture casual but his eyes sharp with mischief.
“Hey, Y/N!” Sirius called, his voice smooth like honey.
Y/N turned, her eyes lighting up with recognition. “Sirius! What’s up?”
“Just enjoying the view,” he replied, winking dramatically. “But I think it just got a whole lot better now that you’re here.”
“Ugh, Black,” she laughed, rolling her eyes, but a flush crept into her cheeks. “You’re impossible.”
“Impossible to resist?” he shot back, that trademark grin of his flashing.
Remus clenched his fists, a knot of jealousy tightening in his chest. He glanced at James, who was watching with an amused expression.
“See? This is what happens when you don’t act, Moony,” James said, nudging him with his elbow. “You have to let her know.”
“I can’t just—” Remus started, but the sight of Y/N laughing at something Sirius said made the words stick in his throat.
“Come on, go talk to her,” Peter encouraged, his eyes bright with excitement. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“What’s the worst?” Remus echoed, heart racing. “She could say no.”
“Or she could say yes,” James countered. “And then you won’t be the sad, lovesick werewolf anymore.”
“Those are some high stakes,” Remus muttered under his breath.
“High stakes are what make it fun,” James answere, while sirius was still flirting with Y/N. “I mean, who wouldn’t want to be swooned over by a Black?”
“Just… give me a minute,” Remus said, feeling the weight of the moment. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his racing heart.
As he watched, Sirius leaned closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “You know what? I bet a girl like you would love a midnight stroll around the lake. Just the two of us.”
Y/N giggled, her smile wide but hesitant. “I don’t know, Sirius. What if I get lost? You might just lead me into the Forbidden Forest.”
“Or I could protect you from all the monsters,” he declared, puffing out his chest dramatically. “I’m practically a knight in shining armor.”
Remus felt a surge of frustration. It was now or never. He pushed off the tree he’d been leaning against and strode toward them, each step heavy with determination.
“Y/N!” he called, his voice cutting through the air.
Sirius turned, surprise flickering across his face. Y/N’s eyes widened, and for a moment, Remus thought he saw a flash of delight there.
“Remus!” she exclaimed, her smile growing. “What’s up?”
“Um, I—” he stammered, suddenly aware of the attention of his friends and the curious gazes of nearby students. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
“Sure!” Y/N glanced at Sirius, who was feigning innocence, and then back at Remus, her expression warm and inviting.
Remus motioned for her to follow him a short distance away, his heart pounding loudly in his chest, drowning out everything else. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the chaos inside him.
“What’s on your mind?” she asked, tilting her head slightly, a playful smile resting on her lips.
“Uh, well, it’s about… Sirius,” he said, feeling the heat rush to his face as he awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. “I know he can be a bit over the top sometimes.”
Y/N laughed, a melodic sound that made Remus’s heart flutter. “He definitely can be. But he’s harmless.”
“Right, harmless,” Remus echoed, feeling a wave of frustration with himself. “But I—”
“Remus, what is it?” she asked, her tone shifting to something more serious.
He swallowed hard, the weight of his feelings pressing down on him like a leaden cloak. “I don’t want you to think he’s serious about all that. He’s just… well, he’s trying to make me jealous.”
“Jealous?” Y/N raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Why would he do that?”
“Because I—” Remus hesitated, the confession teetering on the edge of his lips. “Because I like you, Y/N. A lot.”
Silence stretched between them, the sounds of the bustling students fading into the background. Y/N’s eyes widened, and for a heartbeat, he thought he might have misread everything.
“You like me?” she whispered, a soft smile breaking across her face.
“Yes,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’ve liked you for a while now. But I didn’t know how to say it.”
Her smile grew brighter, and suddenly, all the tension in his shoulders melted away. “Why didn’t you just tell me?”
“Because I didn’t want to ruin our friendship,” he said, his heart racing. “And I was scared. Scared you wouldn’t feel the same way.”
“Remus,” she said, stepping closer, her eyes sparkling with warmth. “I like you too.”
He blinked, a rush of disbelief flooding through him. “You have?”
“Of course! You’re kind, smart, and you don’t take yourself too seriously.” She laughed lightly, her voice ringing with sincerity. “And you’re really cute when you’re flustered.”
“Cute?” Remus echoed, his heart soaring.
“Definitely,” she said, her gaze softening. “So, what do you say we make this official?”
“Are you asking me out?” he asked, his voice rising slightly in surprise.
“Maybe I am,” she teased, tilting her head to one side.
Remus grinned, the weight of his insecurities lifting. “Well, in that case, I’d love to go out with you.”
“Perfect!” Y/N exclaimed, her cheer infectious. “How about a walk around the lake tomorrow night?”
“Sounds like a plan,” Remus replied, feeling a warmth spread through him. It was a feeling he hadn’t realized he’d been missing—a sense of hope and excitement.
“Tomorrow night, then?” Y/N asked, her voice soft
“Tomorrow night,” Remus echoed, his heart soaring as he smiled at her, the words feeling like a vow.
Meanwhile, Sirius, having watched the exchange from a distance, turned back to James and Peter with a satisfied smirk. “Well, that went better than I expected. Looks like I’m not needed anymore here after all.”
James chuckled, nudging Sirius playfully. “You’re a right matchmaker, you know that?”
“Just doing my part,” Sirius said, feigning modesty, though his eyes sparkled with mischief.
Peter grinned, shaking his head. “You didn’t even have to try that hard.”
“Maybe I’ll charge them for my services,” Sirius mused, crossing his arms with a smug expression.

Today's @wolfstarmicrofic prompt is betrothed!
(145 words.)
Remus notices the nickname evolution. The stupid words Sirius attaches to Remus that make the boy smile and roll his eyes, pretending there isn't a blush spreading across his cheeks.
"Moony, my moonshine, want to go to Hogsmeade?"
"Rem, darling, when's the potions test?"
"Remus, my beloved, my one and only, what's the name of that muggle device again? The one that spins and heats stuff up?"
"Moons, my complete and utter ray of light, could I borrow a book?"
Until one day it changes.
"Moony, my betrothed..."
Remus snorts a laugh, eyes still on his food.
"We're not exactly engaged, love, you'd have to ask first-" He glances up and freezes. Sirius is on one knee in front of him, a soft, nervous smile on his face, holding out a blue velvet ring box.
"Okay, sorry, I'll try that again. Moony, my soon-to-be betrothed?"

If I can have the pleasure of making the first request...🫣 Can you do something with young Remus Lupin? Maybe something really silly and sweet, like, he and the reader are in a secret relationship (kind of to avoid the commotion that James and Sirius would make about the fact that he's dating at all) and somehow he ends up with a face full of faint lipgloss kiss marks, which not even the reader realizes about, until the other marauders notice and discover their secret. Maybe the reader will even join in and tease Remus with them a little?
Sorry if the idea is bad, pls don't feel obligated to do it. I'm really not good at this kind of thing...
Have a good day anyways ☺️
Kisses ~ Young Remus Lupin
“Remus, you’re limping! Please let me help you.” I whisper-yelled at Remus, walking through the corridors.
“I can do it.” He grunts, still in pain from yesterday’s full moon.
“Well, at least let me tend to your injuries!” Remus looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
“I’ll do it myself.” He said, shaking his head, “I don’t want to be a burden.” He muttered under his breath.
I stopped him dead in his tracks
“A burden? Are you serious?” At that, Remus smirked
“No, Sirius is at the library waiting for us with James. We can’t be anymore late!” He replied quickly, resuming his walk towards the library.
“Sirius and James can wait. Remus, please, at least go to Madame Pomfrey so she can help. I really hate seeing you like that.” It really pained me seeing him in this hurt state.
Remus sighed and clutched his bag tighter.
“Fine, but come with me.”
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
“You’ll take this right when you wake up and before you go to sleep for the next three days.” Instructed Pomfrey, giving Remus a vial containing a purple potion, “It should help restore your energy back.” With that, she left, going to aid another student.
“Are you happy now?” He asked me, smiling.
“I’m more than happy.” I leaned down, since he was sitting on one of the beds, and kissed him once on the lips.
Looking at him, I chuckled under my breath at the sight of a lipstick mark on his mouth. I decided to kiss him once again the cheek, leaving another mark. Opting against wiping it off, I thought he’d like a little teasing from his friends.
“Let’s go. We can’t make the boys wait any longer.” I grabbed his hand and made our way through the corridors and to the library.
Before entering, I released Remus’ hand, since the boys didn’t know about our relationship. Yet.
At the sight of us, James and Sirius perked up. But once we got closer, they noticed Remus’ face and started laughing. I knew exactly why.
“Hey guys.” Remus said, sitting down opposite them, taking out a book from his bag opening it, ready to study.
I plopped down next to him, and a chorus of hushed exclamations was heard.
“Do you know that red suits you well, Moony?”
“Had a lover and never told us, you traitor.”
Remus quickly lifted his head up, confused.
“What? What are you talking about?”
Sirius and James could only laugh at Remus’ face.
“W-What is it?!” Remus exclaimed looking at me, while I only shrugged, a slight smirk resting on my face.
He could only conjure a small mirror to look at himself. Once noticing, the realization of why they were laughing quickly downed on him.
“Wow, Remus, when were you going to tell us you had a girlfriend?” I asked, deciding to join the teasing, while the other two were dying of laughter.
Remus glared at me, but couldn’t help the smile that was appearing on his face.
“So? Who is it?” Sirius asked, still giggling a bit, nudging James with his elbow.
I leaned my head on my fist and looked at Remus, smiling sweetly. He sighed and glanced at me, chuckling before answering.
“You’d be dumb if you didn’t know who.”
I'm sorry I took too long to write this, but here it is! i hope you like it <3

Rules huh?
Sirius Black x James's sister reader
warnings: Honestly other than the reader being referred to as she/her, one year age gap, and being called beautiful I think nothing, lmk if I missed anything.
pt2, pt3
synopsis: There was one rule..and he had broken it.
Sitting in the Gryffindor common room were the four marauders.
or well three of them were sitting, the last one was pacing back and forth on the carpet such that a few more minutes would have started to dig a hole in it.
"mate...trust us, why'd we wanna get with Your sister anyway?
That was Moony, always the ever-so-sensible one
"yea, when I could have anyone at Hogwarts I assure you I wouldn't lay an eye on your sister. I'm serious"
yes...he was Sirius alright.
Here's what happened.
When James received an owl regarding his sister's transfer to Hogwarts in her fourth year, needless to say, he wasn't stoked.
It not only meant she'd be able to owl their parents on what shenanigans he did throughout the school year but it also meant keeping Boys away from her.
The first to receive this lecture were the marauders...at the least, James had to make sure his best friends weren't involved with his sister in any way.
So he had one rule...just one
Do Not Fall For My Sister.
"yea mate, not like we'd like her when she shares a face with you."
Quipped worm tail as the others agreed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh how wrong they were...
not only did you look Nothing like your brother, but you were also one of the most beautiful girls the boys had ever seen.
Sirius's interest was immediately piqued.
He'd catch a glance of you each time you'd walk the halls, or he'd drag the rest to follow you into the library, they, of course, didn't say anything because they knew how much of a book nerd Sirius could be.
It started to get a little suspicious...then he'd ask Moony to ask the gang, and they'd continue their library trips.
Honestly speaking you'd try to maintain your distance from your brother's group, the last thing you want is a bunch of fifth years on your tail.
Though part of that came from the lecture you received on your end as well...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sirius Orion Black
He was interesting, to say the least, he had a generally flirty personality and would often be seen winking at girls in the halls.
Oddly enough, despite your brother's warning, you were on the receiving end of quite a few.
James did NOT approve
He's noticed the little smiles and glances exchanged between the two of you rather quickly, considering how little observant he is, 7 months is quick for him.
But oh well, Sirius had broken the one rule his best friend had set up...and maybe you had too.
A/N: lmk if yall want a part two, I've been in such a marauders era brain rot please give me fic recommendations if you have any. I also haven't checked it too well so lmk if you find any mistakes I'll write a part two if enough people want one.
p.s pt.2 at a 100 notes I promise

The Heart Knows
Sirius Black x reader
Sirius Black was always the life of the party, but since he met you, he found a new reason to smile. Your laugh, your wit, your beauty; he couldn't get enough of you. You both had an undeniable chemistry, a connection that ran deeper than just physical attraction.
As he held you in his arms, he felt his heart flutter. He never thought he could feel this way about someone, but with you, everything felt different. He felt a sense of completeness, like he finally found what he had been missing all along.
You were his rock, his safe haven, the one person who could make all of his problems disappear. You were the only one who could truly see him, see through the facade he put up for the rest of the world. With you, he could be vulnerable, he could let his guard down and just be himself.
As you lay in bed together, his fingers traced circles on your skin, sending shivers down your spine. You turned to face him, your eyes locking with his. You could see the love and adoration he had for you reflected in his gaze.
He leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a soft and tender kiss. It was a moment filled with so much love and tenderness that it felt like time had stopped.
He pulled away slightly, his forehead resting against yours. "I love you," he whispered, his breath warm against your skin.
You smiled, your heart bursting with happiness. "I love you too," you whispered back.
In that moment, everything felt right. The world could be falling apart around them, but as long as they had each other, they knew they could get through anything.
As the night went on, they lay tangled up in each other, their hearts beating as one. It was a moment that they would never forget, a moment that solidified their love for each other.
With Sirius by your side, you felt like you could conquer anything. And as he held you close, you knew that he felt the same way.

Sit With Me - A Wolfstar oneshot
"I mean its ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!"
Everyone turns to Sirius, well, almost everyone.
"Look at him! He didn't even hear what I said"
Lily, sitting across James' lap, sniggers into his shoulder.
" 'Course I did" Remus replies, still not taking his eyes off his book. "You said (exaggerates Sirius's posh Bath accent) I mean its ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!"
"Moony you wound me so!" He flings himself towards the other end of the sofa, where James and Lily sit, a hand over his forehead. "Look at our friends!"
Now Remus does lift his gaze. Everyone was paired off. Marlene had Dorcas in her lap and was whispering into the girls' ear, making her giggle. James' hand was already out of sight, buried under Lily's jumper as she got as close to him as possible. Peter and Desdemona were fast asleep, leaned into each other. Only Mary was alone, sprawled along her own sofa painting her toe-nails in various weird positions. But as Mary had told them many a time, she had no interest in boyfriends, only good times.
"Why is it that my boyfriend would rather be cuddled up with a book than me?"
He wasn't even asking Remus, who'd chosen to sit on the floor. He didn't comfortably fit on any of the settees in the gryffindor common room, so he usually lied in between many blankets and cussions. Tonight, he had his back to a wall of pillows and was covered by a plethora of blankets. Sirius continued staring at James with puppy dog eyes, awaiting an answer.
"I'm sorry, I was at a good bit." Remus explains, "Besides, why didn't you just come sit with me?" He cocks his head at Sirius, smiling mock-innocently.
Just as Remus had known he would, Sirius comes over to him immediately. Muttering to himself as he went: "Pretty bugger, looking at me with those eyes, how dare he..."
Once Sirius is standing above him, Remus takes his hand and brings him down onto the floor with him. He opens the blankets for him and Sirius quickly shimmies in, unaware of his friend's smiling gazes behind him. He props his head against Remus' chest, legs already getting tangled up with the other boy's. Under the covers, Remus places his hand on the small of his back and, fully discarding his book, begins stroking Sirius' hair.
All around them the lazy conversation continues, mainly carried by James and Marlene, ever energetic, even at 2 in the morning. But all Remus can concentrate on is his boyfriend's smile as he looks up at him. Sirius has evidently completely forgot the fact that they are not the only ones in the room; He strokes Remus' face for a while, with a gaze so open and emotionally intense it makes Remus' heart melt. Remus loves it when Sirius has a cheeky glint in his eye. He adores it when he's just woken up and sleep still sticks to his features. Even angry or sad Sirius is breathtakingly beautiful. But nothing will ever surpass the feeling Remus' gets when Sirius looks at him like a man in love. His grey eyes are open wide, his perfect brows slightly scrunched together, a small smile plays on his lips. The expression makes him look younger, taking Remus back to when he fell in love with him, two years prior, they were only 15.
"Love you" he wispers.
Sirius replies by taking his hand and kissing his knuckles, " I love you".
Finally, he lays his hands on whichever part of Remus' torso he can reach comfortably and closes his eyes. Not long after, Sirius begins to snore lightly, surrounded all around by love and warmth, Remus smiling at him like a maniac in love.

a/n; i'm not american so sorry if y/n is ooc for an american!

"voted most likely to run away with you."
—————————————
"Welcome to Gryffindor! I hope we were the house you wanted," were the first words that came out of the curly-haired boy with glasses who approached you at dinner.
"Uh, I mean, I guess?" you replied, "I think Gryffindor and Wampus are equivalents."
"Why did you transfer?" the red-headed girl stood next to him asked, tilting her head out of curiosity.
You looked down at the ground ashamedly: you had already decided honesty would be the most sustainable way of making friends, "I got expelled."
"Yes, you did," an elderly voice said sternly from behind you, making you jump. You had to admit that the Gryffindor head, Professor McGonagall, scared you a bit. "And you should be very grateful that Professor Dumbledore agreed to offer you a fresh start. Don't waste it, Miss L/N."
"I won't, professor."
"And considering the reason for your expulsion, I suggest you avoid Mr Potter here, along with Mr Black, Mr Lupin and Mr Pettigrew, otherwise we may have to worry about a repeat offence," she continued, "I have high hopes for you, Miss L/N, but you must understand that you are going to be judged much more harshly than the other students."
"Yes, professor," you said, head hanging low. Webster, had she had to embarrass you like that before you'd even had a chance to make friends?
"What was the reason for your expulsion?" the Potter boy asked after McGonagall had left. You couldn't help but notice that three other boys had joined the conversation now: likely the other three the Gryffindor head had mentioned.
You continued with your truthful streak, "Oh, I just- a prank backfired."
"You do pranks?" one of the newly joined boys said excitedly. His hair was long and black, and you could smell his cologne more strongly than the others.
"Yeah, I guess- probably not anymore, though. My parents would kill me if I got another expulsion."
"Ah, don't worry about that," the black-haired boy batted a hand, "McGonagall can be scary, sure, but only Dumbledore has the power to expel, and he's all bark, no bite."
The red-headed girl rolled her eyes, "That mindset will get you expelled, Black-" so that was his name, "-I'm Lily, Lily Evans," she held her hand out to you, and you awkwardly took it.
"Y/N L/N," you replied, though they already knew that. They had heard your name be announced during the sorting ceremony, during which you had stood out like a sore thumb next to all the first years.
"You'll be in the same dorm as me," she said, "I hope we can be friends."
"Woah, slow down, Evans," Black interrupted, "Our good friend L/N here has just told us she's a prankster, and we know you don't approve of that."
Lily rolled her eyes, "If you want me to stupefy any of them, just let me know. C'mon, Lupin, we have head boy and girl stuff to do."
The tallest of the four boys followed her over to the first year section of the table.
"Sirius Black," the boy grinned, lifting your hand to press a kiss to the back of it, "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He dropped your hand, "This here is James-" he gestured to the Potter boy, "Over with Evans is Remus, and this is Peter." He pointed towards the final boy, whose last name could only be Pettigrew.
"We would absolutely love to hear all about your pranking genius," James said as he looped an arm through one of yours, Sirius doing the same on your other side.
The latter nodded enthusiastically, "And we would adore an in-depth retelling of your expulsion."
Okay, maybe you wouldn't be unpopular just because you were a late transfer with a bad record.
***
Somehow, some way, the boys - self-named as the Marauders - had roped you into committing another prank. They had described it as the "initiation prank" that would solidify your place in the group and allow you to be included in all of their secrets (of which you could tell there were many).
It was only your second week at Hogwarts: you could tell McGonagall wasn't so pleased when it came to your blooming friendships with the infamous pranksters of the school, although she was happy to see you were also forming a strong bond with Lily. Also, your grades were good - after all, creative pranks didn't come from a stupid mind.
"Are you all set?" James asked just as you had rushed around the corner, completely out of breath.
You nodded, "I almost got trapped in it myself."
From the distant corridor, sounds of people cursing and in general making loud exclamations began, and one by one you and the Marauders peered around the corner.
You had charmed the floor to have the solidity of an (overly bouncy) bouncy castle - and now you could only watch in satisfied glee as people lost their balance and began bouncing around higher than they could control. Many had fallen over and were completely helpless, meanwhile a select few were beginning to get the hang of it but ultimately failed when a helpless one crashed into them. A crowd had formed at both edges of the charmed floor, meaning it was a matter of time before a professor showed up.
"We should get out of here," Remus whispered, suppressing his giggles in the process.
You all nodded in agreement and began backing away from the situation when a stern resounding cough echoed around you, making you freeze in your tracks.
"Just where do you think you're going?"
McGonagall.
You all slowly turned around to face your angered head of house.
"Detention, the lot of you," she then turned to you, "Miss L/N, I am incredibly disappointed that this is the start you're getting off to."
You bowed your head in shame.
***
Detention involved scrubbing every single cauldron in the potions classroom by hand - an immensely tedious task. Though, truthfully, with the Marauders there, you were having at least some amount of fun. Plus, Professor Slughorn was mostly out of the room, only checking in every twenty minutes or so, meaning you could converse relatively freely.
"Your prank was so good," Sirius, who was stood next to you as you cleaned, said, "I was very impressed."
You couldn't stop the heat from rising to your cheeks and ears, "Thanks, I just hope I didn't hurt any-"
"Oh, speaking of the prank!" James interrupted from across the room, "You're now officially initiated! You want to know our secrets?"
"I mean, sure-"
He reached into his satchel and pulled out a piece of parchment, slamming it down on the table as he unrolled it.
"Prongs, be careful, Slughorn could be back any mi-" Remus tried to say, but James made another interruption.
"He was just here two minutes ago, we've got a while," he gestured for you to come over and look at the paper, so you obliged.
You frowned, "It's blank."
"That, Miss Americana-" their favourite nickname for you, coming from Sirius' mouth this particular time, "-is what you're supposed to think."
James pulled out his wand and waved it over the paper, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."
To your pure amazement, a map of Hogwarts' many corridors and rooms formed on the page in a maroon ink colour. Not only that, but there were names as well: student and professor names that you recognised, and some of them were moving around on the parchment.
"This is our most beautiful creation," Sirius said to you with a charming smile, "The Marauders' Map."
"It displays every single secret room and passageway in Hogwarts," Remus said, "Plus the locations of all the students and professors."
"That's amazing," you said, genuinely astounded, "It must have been so difficult to make."
"About as difficult as becoming an animagus," Peter said, which made you furrow your brows at the oddly specific choice of simile.
"Which brings us on to the next secret," James continued, "We're animagi."
"It's what our nicknames our based off of," Sirius beamed, "I'm a dog - a black dog - hence the name Padfoot."
"I'm a stag," James said, "'S why I'm Prongs." He put his hands on his head in a way that symbolised antlers.
Peter sighed, "I'm sure you can guess what Wormtail is."
You thought for a second, "...Rat?" You felt bad guessing it, but the boy simply nodded.
You then turned your eyes to Remus, who had been particularly quiet during this part of the conversation.
"What's Moony then?"
"Wolf," James said with no further explanation.
And you simply thought that Remus had a wolf animagus: why would you think any differently?
***
"Alright, we're back," Sirius announced, immediately plopping a pouch of sweets into your hand, "Here's your request, Miss Americana."
"Thanks, Siri," you said, giving him a warm smile which he returned before following the other Marauders up the stairs. They had, of course, snuck down to Hogsmeade through one of the secret tunnels: you had been invited, but due to the amount of catch-up work you still had to do, you declined, staying with Lily instead.
That exact redhead sighed at you, "I see the way you look at Black, L/N. I'd have to advise you not to go there."
You were flustered at her having caught on to your feelings so quick, but pushed that aside in favour of asking, "Why?"
"He's the heartbreak prince to put it lightly," she said, "Never had a long-term relationship. Dates a girl for two weeks, gets her all attached, then dumps her so her friends can find her crying in the toilets."
Your heart sunk: was he really that selfish?
"Great friend, don't get me wrong. Just not a great boyfriend."
You sighed, "Thanks for the warning, I guess."
"I don't wanna see you get hurt," she said, "Especially when I could've done something to prevent it."
You gave her a soft smile.
***
"This doesn't seem like a good idea," you said sceptically, watching as the boys tied some string across a section of the corridor in a spiderweb sort of fashion.
"It is, trust us," Sirius said, winking at you, "Now grab that string and help us."
You sighed, but couldn't say no to Sirius so agreed and got to work. Eventually, when the pattern was deemed complex enough, James put his hands on his hips in triumph.
"Step one is complete," he said proudly, moving over to a satchel in the corner to pull out a small potion, "A special thanks to Y/N for creating and cooking this potion for us."
You bowed sarcastically at the following applause.
"Now for step two," James continued, grabbing more bottles from the satchel and passing them around, "Douse the string in this."
You got to work on one of the ends of the string while Peter used his rat animagus to easily complete the task in the middle. After what felt like ages, the task was finally finished, and the potion was in full effect: the string was entirely invisible to the human eye.
"Quick, it's almost six," Remus said, glancing at the sun about to rise over the horizons, "We need to get out of here."
Strategically, you all split into different directions as you always looked more suspicious when you were altogether. You found yourself heading the same way Sirius was and did very little to change course.
"Yet another brilliant prank set up," he said gleefully, tugging on your arm to pull you in the same direction as him when you reached a T-junction.
"If I get expelled because of you guys, I'm suing," you spat, although your tone held no real malice.
"Relax, relax, Miss Americana," you rolled your eyes at the nickname, "We've told you a thousand times. Dumbledore doesn't expel unless it's legally required."
"What if this falls under the legal requirements?"
He shook his head dismissively, "It doesn't. I've read them."
You frowned, and before you could ask why he explained.
"Wanted to see what loopholes I could find."
"Even if I don't get expelled my parents will still slaughter me if they find out I'm back to pranking."
He hummed, "Well that's parents for you."
As he said that, you passed who you had learnt to be Regulus Black in the corridor: you hadn't been told the details, but you knew that the Black brothers did not get along. The external differences were obvious, with Regulus being cold and closed-off - accentuated by his Slytherin tie. Sirius, on the other hand, was sociable and warm - accentuated by his Gryffindor tie. Difference in personalities was seldom enough reason for two brothers to avoid each other like the plague, though, so you knew it was something deeper.
On a separate note: what Regulus was doing up so early, you had no idea.
"Where will the others be headed?" you asked, trying to get the good mood back into Sirius after seeing his brother.
"Godric knows," he said with a shrug, "We didn't plan this far ahead."
"Where are we headed?"
He paused in his movements, "Where do you want to go?"
You thought for a moment, "The Astronomy Tower."
"Bit weird to go there during daylight."
"I never claimed to be a mastermind."
He chuckled a bit, "Okay, let's go. It's this direction anyway."
***
"No, you're lying," he laughed, "So you charmed your headmaster's beard to mimic worms?"
You couldn't help but snort, shoving Sirius slightly from your position sat cross-legged opposite him. You both had been up in the Astronomy Tower for roughly half an hour by that point.
"And that still didn't get you expelled?"
"Yeah, in hindsight, I was pushing it way too much."
"I'll say. What possibly made you think that the dragon prank would be a good idea when you were already on thin ice?"
He was referencing the prank that had ultimately led to your expulsion, which you had already told the Marauders about in great detail.
You shrugged, "I told you, it was meant to be a non-physical illusion. I didn't mean to fuck up the spell and temporarily create a fully solid dragon."
"You must be an incredible witch if you could accidentally create such a powerful illusion, Miss Americana."
"I guess, I mean... it's not like the illusion had firepower or sharp claws or anything."
"Still hurt people though."
"Yeah, when a heavy-as-fuck being barrels into you at full speed some damage tends to be taken," you scoffed, "I'm just lucky I didn't kill or permanently disable anyone."
"And you apologised."
You smiled, "Yeah, but I reckon some of them will never truly forgive me."
"Ah, well, you live and you learn."
"What about you?" you asked, "That's the most interesting thing about my backstory, what about yours?"
"My family are elitist pure-bloods," he said, taking you by surprise, "They hate me for disagreeing with that and not being exactly like Regulus."
You hummed, "Old Reggie's the favourite then?"
"I mean, yes, but that doesn't mean they're particularly nice to him either."
You chewed your lip in thought, understanding what Sirius was implying. The friction between him and his brother now made sense, as well as his aversion to talking about his home life.
For a few moments, your eyes locked on to Sirius', and just when the cliché moment to lean in for a kiss arrived, you quickly looked away and awkwardly coughed. It's not that you didn't want to kiss the ridiculously handsome boy, but you just couldn't get Lily's words out of your mind. Sirius sensed your apprehension and avoidance, making him frown.
"Are you okay?"
You nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine."
"I just thought maybe we were having a- we were going to-..." he trailed off, bringing his lower lip between his teeth.
You remained silent.
"Sorry, I must've read the signals wrong."
Shaking your head, you sighed, "I can't."
"Why not? Strict parents?" he asked, "I mean, if that's the case, I don't think you could make 'em anymore pissed."
"That's not it, Padfoot," you said quietly, "Lily told me about you."
"What about me?"
"That you're the heartbreak prince," you said simply, "Never had a relationship longer than two weeks."
"Okay, that's true."
"See? I can't get myself hurt."
He pushed his long hair back messily, "No, no, let me explain."
You gave him an expression that told him to continue.
"Yes, I've had a lot of short relationships... it's not because I'm bad at commitment and move on quickly, I swear."
With a sceptical expression, you folded your arms.
"Whenever I get asked out, I just can't say no. So I just... say yes and then avoid them as much as I can until they break up with me... which normally takes a couple weeks."
"That's bad in a different way, Sirius," you scoffed, "You got their hopes up for nothing. That still makes you a heartbreaker."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I feel shit about it."
"Look," you sighed, gazing at his handsome face in the sunlight, "I like you - I really do - but I can't date a guy that's hurt so many people without fixing it."
"Godric, Miss Americana, you really are the queen of morals, huh?"
"Someone in this group has to be."
He smiled at you, and despite the previous conversation, the atmosphere didn't feel awkward.
***
"Morning," you yawned, sitting down by Lily on the Gryffindor table. She didn't reply, instead giving you a dumbfounded expression that had you waking up a bit more. "What?"
"What the fuck is Black doing?"
"Hm?" you said confusedly, looking around to try and spot the black-haired man.
"Miss Americana," you heard James call, hurrying over to you, "What did you say to Padfoot yesterday? He's like a completely different person."
"What are you talking about?" you responded, finally locating Sirius in the room. He was moving about, going from one girl to another after exchanging a few words with each of them.
"He's apologising to every single girl he's ever left heartbroken," James explained, "What did you do?"
Your heart suddenly warmed at the realisation of what he was up to, and you now understood that maybe he was in fact serious about you.
Eventually, he came over to where you had been blatantly watching him from and sat down at your side. All of you, including Remus and Peter who had joined since, stared at him blankly as he began tucking into breakfast like the previous events were nothing.
"Padfoot, you feeling alright?" Remus asked.
"Never better, Moony."
"How come?" James ventured to ask.
"I can finally start a clean slate," Sirius beamed, turning to you, "One in which I hope Miss Americana will agree to go on a date with me."
You stared at him, your mouth slightly agape.
"You really did that just for me?"
He nodded enthusiastically, "I realised I had to show you how serious I am - no pun intended."
You sighed, "Okay. I'll go on a date with you."
He didn't need to know that butterflies were swarming in your stomach.

beautiful stranger
modern au! young!sirius black x reader
(i got the prompt from @mrsaluado, thank you so much lovely!! they’re a fantastic writer so please go check them out :)) def recommend listening to beautiful stranger by laufey whilst reading!)
(it’s a very very quick drabble and it is unedited so please keep that in mind haha, probably not my best work ^^”)
beautiful stranger, sitting right there
looked up at me with my dark curly hair
sirius black liked mornings. he didn’t love them. he didn’t love getting up early and dragging himself out of bed. but he liked them. this morning, sirius has found his bike out of commission, and was reduced to public transport. but sirius didn’t mind. it was peaceful; it was nice to sit on a train as the world was still waking up and people were still quiet, immersed in their own world. sirius reckoned they felt the same sort of peace he did.
so there he was, sirius black, sitting on the train, reading the newspaper. skimming it, really. glancing at headlines, seeing if there were any particular articles that caught his eye. once one did, he folded the newspaper in half, reading closely, glancing at the picture every so often to help him visualize the story better.
and then he noticed you.
he glanced up, and there was someone looking at him, looking at his dark, curly hair with beautiful eyes that could only be described as lovestruck. before sirius could do anything about it, the person looked away; quickly, shyly. sirius ducked his head back into the newspaper, but his focus wasn’t on the article anymore. he could feel the person across from him stealing glances at him, once, twice more. sirius smiled, and he stole a glance himself, stole one right back from the person across from him; he watched discreetly as his admirer’s cheeks flushed a pink that was barely visible, and watched two nervous hands fidget with each other, picking nails, scratching the back of the hand.
sirius was used to people looking at him. sirius knew he was hot— he was tall, he had a nice figure, he had a sharp jaw and gray eyes with the piercing paleness that society seemed to adore so much. but that’s not how this person looked at him. this person looked at him like he was ethereal. otherworldly. beautiful.
and so were you.
he wanted to break down, right then and there, from the mere gaze of a stranger whose eyes were so achingly filled with emotion that he wanted to look away.
sirius’s smile didn’t once leave his lips, not even when he felt the train slow down and he swayed ever so slightly at the feeling of the train coming to a stop. he watched from behind the newspaper and the person stood up. sirius lay the newspaper on his lap, and his eyes met the person’s again.
please, pleaded two sets of eyes. please, tell me your name.
but one set of eyes stayed on the train, and another one got off, and no pairs of lips spoke a word. dark, curly hair disappeared behind the newspaper, and a lovesick beauty left through the doors.
a love that came and left with the train

“You’ll be there tonight?”
Remus turned his head, his eyes finding yours. He couldn’t get what you just said since he was too focused on forcing himself not to stare at you and your endearing features. “What?” he said as he cleared his throat, trying not to seem flustered.
You shake your head with a chuckle “You’ll be there tonight?” you saw his eyebrows knitted together in confusion “The party I mean” You really wanted Remus to go. You loved parties, it was a break from school pressure and allowed you to relax for a night. Sure, you were grateful to be a fast learner but burnout was easy for a gifted child who craved academic validation. Anyone in Hogwarts who wanted to have great grades needed to sacrifice a part of their mental health.
But parties were there to help you. And Remus too. You had a long week and just wanted to rest your brain and the party was a good way but it would be even better if Remus was by your side for the entire night.
You held your gaze on the boy, trying to let him know with the look in your eyes that you wanted him to be there. His lips tugged up “Sure” he offered you the softest smile, his cheeks light pink.
It was rare to see Remus being shy, he actually was the type to be sarcastic and teasing with everyone if he wasn’t just wearing a blank face. But you didn’t remark this, you were maybe smart but totally clueless when it came to other people’s feelings. That’s something your friends always made fun of. You were a total flirt but never knew if they flirted back, liked you and were just shy persons.
You grinned a large smile “Great!” you got up and brushed off the grass that was stuck to your pants. Remus and you decided to spend some time together near the Black Lake and it was now time to leave, you had a long week and wanted to take nap before the party.
Remus watched you as you took your bag off the floor and slid it on your shoulder. When your eyes landed on Remus, it seemed like he really wanted to smile but stopped himself from doing it, his pupils were shining and he looked genuinely happy. He truly was handsome.
“See you tonight!” you bent down, pressing a brief kiss to his scarred cheek. You quickly walked away, not seeing the hard blush on Remus’ face and his wide eyes, he had to take a deep breath and a good minute to get up.
:・゚✧*:・゚
Remus lifted his head, hoping to see you enter the room as he saw a group of students coming from the corner of his eye but unfortunately, you weren’t there yet. He was wondering where you could be and just wanted you to be by his side.
As he was lost in his own thoughts he felt someone grabbing his shoulder, he turned around with a small jump, not expecting any physical touch.
He faced a very smiling Sirius “Waiting for your lovebird?” he said with a wide smirk. Remus looked back at the entrance of the common room, rolling his eyes at his friend’s comment.
James came by their side “Who are we looking for?” he nudged Remus in the ribs, showing the crowd starting to form with a head movement.
“Y/n~” Sirius sang as he sent a wink to the tall boy who let out a sigh, hating that he was right. Remus didn’t even bother listening to whatever his best friends were talking about, you were the only thing in his mind at the moment.
But as the waiting began to be long and he started to overthink, he drank a glass of firewhiskey. Then two.
It was his fourth glass when you stepped into the room, it was just the only way he found to spend time. His eyes met yours and his lips immediately extended into a wide smile.
He got up from the couch and that was the moment he realised how much he had drunk without break. Lily next to him let out a chuckle, knowing very well why he was in this state “Go get her” she laughed and Remus nodded as he headed to you.
He approached you, his hand grabbing your shoulder. You turned your head, smiling when you saw him. Without thinking you wrapped your arms around his middle, hugging him to express how happy you were to find him.
“I’m sorry for coming so late. I forgot to set up an alarm and woke up like 40 minutes ago.” you said with an apologetic smile. But Remus beamed down at you and breathed a quiet ‘It’s okay’.
You chuckled “How much have you drank already?” Remus let out a sigh before bringing you to his chest so you would shut up, with your face pressed against his shirt.
“Take a drink and leave me alone” he said grumpily but you could hear his smile as he talked. You pushed away from his embrace before walking to the buffet, shoving a few appetisers in your mouth and filling a glass.
You joined Remus on one of the couches, you could see he was more tactile than usual but you weren’t going to complain, his arm looped over your shoulders you felt protected and relaxed.
You felt his gaze on you as you did anything “What?” you laughed, your eyebrow raising as he was staring down at you.
Remus blushed and looked away “Nothing” he let out a long breath before looking at you from the corner of his eyes “You- You’re just really pretty” That’s it. He just said it. What he wanted to tell you since he first met you months ago.
“O-oh” you weren’t expecting this and warmth raised to your entire face. You had a foolish smile on your lips “You’re pretty too”
Remus didn’t know if it was because of the alcohol in his blood or just the genuine comment you just said, but he wanted to kiss you. His mouth was agape, looking at you in such admiration, he was adorable when he was flustered.
It wasn’t the first time he had the urge to kiss your soft-looking lips but he never dared, you were so confident, he was even surprised you weren’t taken, every sane person would love to date you. But the new form of adrenaline gave him the confidence he didn’t have sober. He leaned down, his right hand cupping your cheek.
You knew what he was going to do. And you wanted the same thing as him. The only problem that was floating in your mind was ‘does he really want to kiss you? Or it’s just the euphoria of the night?’ “Wait” you whispered when his lips almost touched yours.
Remus cocked his head to the side. “Do you really want this? It’s not just alcohol?” you asked quietly.
The boy nodded eagerly “Of course, I wanted to since I first led my eyes on you” you grinned when he talked, that was the sweetest thing someone ever told you.
“You’re not going to regret this tomorrow morning?” you were scared your dream will disappear when you will wake up and Remus shook his head with wide eyes, he was begging you in silence and you couldn’t resist anymore.
“Just one.” his lips tugged down in disappointment “C’mon, if you still like me in the morning we will have plenty of time to kiss” This time you were the one initiating the kiss, your hand on his scarred cheek, tilting his head down so you could reach for his lips. He didn’t wait before kissing you back, his hand coming behind your neck.
Fireworks exploded in Remus’ stomach, he couldn’t believe what was happening. He never wanted to stop, he loved you too much to break the kiss right now.
You pulled away for air but Remus chased for your lips and you giggled. “I said one” Remus sighed, burying his face in the crook of your neck with a muffled groan. When you tore your stare away from him you saw all his friends looking at you with big smirks and you let out an awkward laugh.
Remus could feel your embarrassment and he gazed up at where you were looking. He grunted when he saw his idiots of friends “Leave us alone” he told them with furrowed brows before grabbing your hand to lead you to a more quiet place.
The said place ended up being his dorm. He just plopped down on his bed, waiting for you to join him. He made sure his face was close to yours, and it made you laugh “So I can kiss you when I wake up” he let you know before hugging you to sleep.

The sun dipped low over the turrets of Hogwarts, casting long shadows across the grounds. Inside the stone walls, the flickering fire in the staff room offered a warm glow against the encroaching evening chill. Y/N, a professor of Herbology, had just finished grading a stack of papers that now lay scattered across her desk like fallen leaves. She stretched, letting out a breathy sigh, and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was nearly time for dinner, but more importantly, it was nearly time to see Severus.
“Just a few more minutes,” she murmured to herself, running her fingers through her hair. The thought of Severus always made her smile. Their relationship had blossomed in the most unexpected way—two souls drawn together in the shadows of the castle, finding light in each other.
The heavy oak door creaked open, and in walked Severus Snape, his robes billowing slightly as he entered. The moment their eyes met, a spark ignited in the air between them, and Y/N felt her heart race.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice low and smooth, “you’re still here?”
“Of course I am,” she replied, trying to suppress the grin that tugged at her lips. “I was waiting for you.”
Severus raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement flickering in his dark eyes. “Waiting for me, or waiting for dinner?”
“Both, I suppose,” she laughed softly, letting the warmth of his presence envelop her like a favorite blanket.
He stepped closer, and she could smell the faint, familiar scent of potions and herbs on him, mixed with a hint of something uniquely Severus. “You should know that waiting for you is always worth it,” he said, his voice dropping to a whisper.
Her breath caught in her throat. “You say the sweetest things,” she replied, tilting her head slightly to meet his gaze.
With a gentle sweep of his hand, he brushed a stray hair behind her ear. “It’s the truth.”
Y/N felt her cheeks heat up as she leaned into his touch, feeling safe and cherished in this small moment. The fire crackled, snapping gently in the background, creating a cozy rhythm that matched the quickening beats of her heart.
“Shall we join the others for dinner?” Severus asked, his tone shifting slightly as he stepped back, breaking the momentary bubble they had created.
“Not just yet.” Y/N took a step closer, her fingers brushing against his. “I want a moment with you first.”
Severus hesitated, then nodded, a rare softness in his expression. “Very well.”
She led him to a nearby armchair, inviting him to sit. He settled down with a slight sigh, and she nestled beside him, resting her head against his shoulder. The warmth of his body radiated against her, and she closed her eyes, savoring the comfort of his presence.
“Tell me about your day,” he prompted, his voice rumbling gently.
“Well, I had an amusing encounter with a particularly stubborn Venomous Tentacula,” she began, recalling the chaotic scene earlier that afternoon. “It wouldn’t stop wriggling. I swear it was trying to escape my lesson plan.”
Severus chuckled, the sound deep and rich. “It seems you have your hands full,” he teased lightly.
“More than you know.” She laughed, the sound mingling with his, creating a warm harmony. “But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Teaching here is a dream.”
“And what about your dreams outside of teaching?” he asked, turning serious.
Y/N paused, glancing up at him. “You mean, like… our dreams?” she asked, a hint of vulnerability in her voice.
“Yes,” he said, searching her eyes. “What do you want?”
She hesitated, feeling the weight of the question. “I want… I want to create a life that feels warm and alive. I want to share it with someone who understands me.”
His gaze softened further, and he leaned in, brushing his lips against her forehead. “You have that with me, Y/N. I hope you know that.”
The tenderness in his words made her heart swell. “I do, Severus,” she replied, her voice a mere whisper. “I just sometimes worry about what tomorrow may bring.”
“Tomorrow is not our concern right now,” he said firmly, yet gently, pulling back to look at her. “Let’s focus on today.”
“Agreed,” she smiled, feeling lighter. “What do you want to do then?”
“I want to enjoy this moment,” he said, leaning closer again. “And maybe…”
Before she could respond, he captured her lips with his, a sweet, lingering kiss that sent butterflies dancing through her stomach. The world around them faded, and all that existed was the warmth of his mouth on hers, the taste of warmth and familiarity.
When they finally pulled apart, she was breathless. “That was—”
“Perfect,” he finished, a smirk playing on the corners of his mouth.
Just then, the door swung open again, and in walked Minerva McGonagall, her expression shifting from surprise to amusement as she caught sight of the pair.
“Goodness,” she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of mock horror and genuine delight. “Am I interrupting something?”
Y/N’s cheeks flushed as she pulled back from Severus, who merely raised an eyebrow at his colleague. “Not at all, Minerva,” he said dryly, the corner of his mouth betraying a hint of a smile.
“Just having a… moment,” Y/N added, her embarrassment turning into laughter. “Nothing scandalous, I promise.”
“I’m sure,” Minerva replied, a twinkle in her eye. “But I must say, it’s lovely to see the two of you together. Hogwarts could use a bit of warmth now and then.”
“Indeed,” Severus said, his tone surprisingly accommodating. “And what brings you here, Minerva?”
“I came to fetch you both for dinner,” she said, stepping further into the room. “Albus has prepared quite a feast, and he’s rather insistent we all join him.”
“Lead the way,” Y/N said, standing up and offering her hand to Severus, who took it with a slight nod.
As they walked together, fingers intertwined, Minerva couldn’t help but glance back at them. “You two are positively glowing,” she remarked, her expression softening. “It’s good for you, Severus.”
“Don’t make such a fuss, Minerva,” he replied, though the slight flush on his cheeks gave him away.
“Just stating the truth,” she said lightly, guiding them down the stone corridors lined with portraits that watched them with interest. “And don’t think I haven’t noticed how you’ve transformed, Severus. Love does wonders for a person.”
Y/N squeezed his hand tighter, feeling a rush of warmth surge through her. “I think you’re right,” she said, looking up at Severus, who seemed to ponder her words.
“I suppose it does,” he conceded, a hint of a smile breaking through his usual stoic demeanor.

Happy Marauders go back to school day!!
Today's @wolfstarmicrofic prompt is Hogwarts Express xoxo
"Are you okay?" Lily asks, watching Remus' leg bounce from inside the carriage as his anxiety mounts. His eyes are practically glued to the window, scanning the platform.
"Hm? Yeah, I'm fine, I'm..."
He trails off the moment he sees him.
Sirius.
He steps through the platform with James close behind, and Remus can already see the switch that a summer away from his family brought on. He's standing a little taller, his eyes a little brighter. As Effie and Fleamont emerge, he turns and smiles at them, his whole body more relaxed than Remus has ever seen him.
"I'll be right back," he says quickly, standing and practically running from the Hogwarts Express.
Once he gets out onto the bustling platform, Sirius turns and spots him. His face brightens in an instant, positively beaming at the sight of him. God, just the sight of him sends warmth through Remus' chest.
He doesn't even know when Sirius starts moving towards him, all he knows is that they meet in the middle with a crashing, bone-breaking hug. Remus shuts his eyes, pulling Sirius closer. For a while, he was worried Sirius would be gone forever.
Here he is, happy and safe and free.
"You got out," Remus murmurs, a little breathlessly. He feels Sirius nod, and the relief floods him so suddenly, it brings tears to his eyes. Sirius must be able to feel that Remus is on the brink of a breakdown, because he pulls away. Gently, he reaches up and cups Remus' face with both hands.
"I love you," Sirius says suddenly, with that damn smile that just... knocks the air out of Remus' lungs. The one that travels up so far that it crinkles his eyes. Then, out of nowhere, he pulls Remus in and connects their lips.
Sirius is here.
He's here, and he's staying.
Life is fucking perfect.

Wolfstar Oneshot! ~ 1.9k words
Modern AU, the marauders are university students on holiday. Background Jegulus (no one knows), pining Sirius, oblivious Remus.
CW: negative self-talk, homophobia, references to physical and emotional abuse.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Sirius looked up as Remus closed the door behind him. He swallowed down the sharp retort already crawling it’s way out of his throat, internally chastising himself for his irritation at the concern in his friends eyes.
He sighed and threw his phone to the side, stretching out his limbs. He had been lying on the comfortable guest bed, scrolling mindlessly. He didn’t want to talk, he didn’t even really want to think. Down the hall, his brother was sleeping in the room beside James’— Sirius’ room— he had to keep reminding himself. His room, after he had shown up at the Potters weeks earlier. Regulus slept in his room, bruised in the same way Sirius had been and refusing to talk about it.
He finally looked at Remus who was sat on the edge of the bed, studying him as if he was a complicated bomb he had been sent to diffuse. Sirius supposed it might be true, James certainly wasn’t here attempting this conversation. Not after the argument that had ensued upon Regulus’ arrival. He was embarrassed by the cruel things he had said to James in anger, in anger and panic and misplaced jealousy. He always reacted without thinking, always jumped to the worst conclusion. Then the guilt came and he’d avoid thinking about the apologies he owed. Sirius steeled himself and met Remus’ eyes, eyes that were so annoyingly big and brown and concerned for him. He managed what he thought was a rather diplomatic,
“No, not particularly”
The corner of Remus’ mouth turned up. That fucking crooked smile that made Sirius forget why he was sulking. The smug bastard. He readied himself for another argument, prepared himself for Remus to push him, for him to say everything Sirius didn’t want to hear. Instead Remus said,
“Okay, do you want to watch a film then?”
God Bless Remus Lupin. He nodded and reached down to the floor beside the bed to grab his laptop. Remus batted him on the shoulder to shuffle over and made himself comfortable beside him while Sirius opened Netflix. They fell into an easy silence, broken only by the sounds of Mr. Potter doing the washing up downstairs and a breeze slipping through the cracked window. Sirius scrolled through their movie options.
“Oh I’ve heard this is good, have you seen it?” Sirius asked as his mouse hovered over a thriller.
“That looks absolutely terrible” Remus scowled at the screen
“What! No it doesn’t. Look, it’s got Jake Gyllenhaal, you love him.”
“I do not love Jake Gyllenhaal, why would you think I love Jake Gyllenhaal?”
“You love his big blue eyes.” Sirius smirked to himself.
“Oh yeah, how could I forget. I love his big blue eyes almost as much as I love it when you shut the fuck up and pick a film”
Sirius chuckled. Something that had been coiled tightly in his chest was unfurling, he hadn’t even noticed how stiffly he was holding his shoulders until he was teasing Remus. He replied,
“We’re watching this one because I’m the one in emotional distress and you’ll only want to watch something entirely depressing or The Lord of The Rings and I’m not in the mood”
“Fine” Remus sighed while Sirius clicked play. He stole a glance at that crooked smirk and suddenly became aware of Remus lying on the bed mere inches away, his head angled toward him to see the screen, the soft orange light from the bedside lamp glowing through the mess of brown hair atop the other boys head. He turned his attention firmly back to the screen and they settled into the film, which Sirius conceded wouldn’t win Jake any awards (though he of course didn’t voice this opinion). He was actually feeling quite calm, interested in the film, though distracted by Remus’ ankle sometimes brushing up against his when-
“It’s not your fault you know” Remus said about twenty minutes in.
Sirius hit the space bar with more force than was necessary.
“I thought we had established that I didn’t want to talk about this?”
“We don’t have to talk about it. I’m not even talking to you, just you know, speaking to the room at large.”
“Well, shut up”
“You don’t even have to listen, I actually would prefer if you’d mind your own business. I’m just choosing to say out loud, to anyone who might be interested and would like to know, that what happened to Regulus is no one’s fault but his parents”
Anger flared in Sirius as he turned his head to the left and was met with warm brown eyes. Remus held his stare, unflinching stubbornness written all over his features. Fuck you, Sirius thought, Fuck you for your comically long eyelashes, fuck you for trying to make me feel better, and fuck you for knowing that I’m going to take the bait.
In little more than a whisper and without breaking his stare, Sirius said, “We don’t even know what happened. Because Regulus won’t say, and because I left him there. I knew what they were capable of and I left him there. So yeah, it is my fault, at least partially.”
Remus’ eyes softened a bit and Sirius hated himself. The boy in front of him was all shades of gold. Like the hour before sunset, when everything is so still and warm and heartbreaking that it almost hurts to look at. Remus almost hurt to look at. He was his friend, his best friend, and after James Sirius didn’t think he was allowed any more best friends. Whatever higher power had granted him James Potter, Sirius didn’t know but he had spent everyday since in a perpetual state of gratitude. Then he was granted Remus Lupin and he knew he didn’t deserve him, yet he still looked at him and wanted. He was selfish, impulsive, aloof on his good days and cruel on his bad. Still, James and Remus and all of his friends gave him their patience and empathy and love. Suddenly he felt close to tears.
Before he could turn away, Remus replied, “You had no choice Pads, you know that. He wouldn’t leave with you, and you had to get out of there. You can’t protect him from everything and you can’t make his decisions. He’s safe now and you’re safe now. That’s it. There’s no blame to be ha—“
“Then why did he call James?” The question that had been eating at Sirius all day.
Regulus was his brother. It had always been them surviving in that household, looking out for each other. Looking out for each other even when they stopped really talking to each other. Sirius had always taken the brunt of his parents’ cruelty to protect Regulus, and then when Regulus needed help, when he needed somewhere to go..
Sirius swallowed the lump in his throat “Why would he call James and not me? If he doesn’t blame me, why would he call James”
“Sirius…” Remus began but he was too overwhelmed to listen. Regulus was always his to protect, no one else would. It was one of the first things he had learned and though he knew it was irrational, knew that they were adults, that Regulus made his own choices, deep down he still felt that anything that happened to Regulus was because of him. His mother had instilled that in him.
And suddenly he became overwhelmed by the proximity of Remus. By his smell and his stupid eyelashes and his stupid nose and his stupid hoodie that was perfectly soft and somehow too big for the giant fucker and his smart-ass mouth that pissed him off but still somehow always said the right thing. And he was overwhelmed by his mother’s voice in his head telling him that he was a fuckup and an idiot. Telling him he was disgusting, telling him to stop acting so fucking gay. The words choked him and the scars on his body reminded him that everything was his fault. His fucking fault. It was his fault that Regulus had been there on his own. His fault that his family hated him so completely. His fault that he woke up everyday and wanted his best friend in a way that wasn’t fair.
He sat up as the tears started spilling down his cheeks and his breathing became difficult. He hid his face in his hands. The only person who had ever seen Sirius cry was James but in that moment the only thing he could do was cry. So he cried, he cried in relief that his brother was safe and in anguish that he hadn’t been there to take the force of his mother’s rage. He cried because he knew if he had stayed he wouldn’t have survived. He felt a large hand on his back and for maybe the first time, didn’t feel embarrassed to be crying. Remus’ presence was warm and steady, patient and completely disarming. He started to catch his breath and heard Remus say quietly,
“I don’t know why he called James, I honestly don’t. But I’m glad that he called anyone, and once he’s more settled you guys can start sorting all this out. You’re a good brother Sirius, anyone can see that you’d go to war for the kid. Just don’t be so hard on yourself, and try not to be so hard on James, okay? You know how he loves being the hero, he probably called Regulus himself”
Sirius huffed a laugh, “Fuck, I owe a lot of apologies don’t I?” His voice was still slightly muffled by the sleeves of his hoodie.
“Yeah, you do.” Remus continued, “but fortunately James is a very forgiving hero” Sirius laughed quietly again and wiped his nose with the back of his sleeve. He finally lifted his head and turned to look back at Remus.
“Oh, fuck you” Remus said and rolled his eyes.
“What??”
“Of course you’d still look pretty right after crying your eyes out.”
Sirius barked out a loud laugh
“Aw, Moony, you think I’m pretty?” Remus pushed his shoulder away, “you always know exactly how to make me feel better.” He reached for his water bottle on the bedside table, still snickering.
“Do you?” Remus’ voice wasn’t teasing.
“Do I what?”
“Feel better?” There was such earnestness in Remus’ gaze.
“Yeah, I do” Sirius leaned back on the pillow, turning to face Remus “do you still want to watch the movie?”
Remus smiled “Yeah, go on. I do actually love his big blue eyes”

The person at the opposite end of the table (James Potter)
Pairing: James Potter + reader word count: 2237 warnings: none but lmk if you find any warning: Your first date with James after being close friends for years
If you think this didn't completely suck, feel free to check out my masterlist.
a/n: I'm back baby!!!
I have nothing to wear, and I'm not exaggerating. Coming to Hogwarts, you only bring your uniform and a few spares, many many pyjamas, and a few outfits for hogsmeade weekends, nothing more. Today is crucial. It is the day where I'm going out on a date with James, my James, except that today 'my' has a completely different meaning.
When you go out on dates, you're supposed to wear something elegant and stylish, but still simple and with enough glamour to make the person that will be sitting on the opposite end of the table like you even more. One, I don't have any attire that suits these descriptions, and two, How is it possible to make the person on the opposite end of the table (james) like you even more when they've already seen you at a ball when you look your greatest and during periods, in a foetal position while your cramps are eating you alive?
The simple and only reasonable answer is that you can't.
I can spend the whole hour before I have to meet James stressing over my outfit, which albeit is very important, instead of stressing over the actual problem that I have, but that would be very counter intuitive.
Everyone of the girls is already gone to hogsmeade, so I've got the whole room to myself to panic, cry, scream, jump, pretty much whatever I want, but I don't know what I want. The reason why the date is later than usual is a part of the problem. James set the date at a later time because he knew that I would need some time to myself before going out, some time to process my feelings, try on some outfits, and of course, panic.
He knows this because he's helped me get ready for many dates before, I wish I could say the same, but James hasn't ever gone out on a date which means that he's the one that should be nervous, but instead I am.
He knocks on my dorm room door at the worst possible moment, which is every moment when you're nervous. He looks stunning, like he always is, but he's got a red tint on his cheeks and the same cheeky smile he always gives me, but this time, it's hesitant. I shot him a smile and hoped that it wasn't as awkward as I felt it was.
"Ready to go?" James says, and I nod. I close the dorm door behind me after grabbing my bag. I walk down the stairs with him. If this was any other day, I'd have already wrapped my arms around him, but this isn't any other day. This is a date.
We walk out of the common room, and I feel everyone's eyes on us, I wonder if they can see that my shoulders are tense or that I'm already sweating -
"How are you?" James asks me, and I find him looking at me intently. Has he always looked at me that way? I let out a noise that sounds more like a squeak, and instead of dying of mortification, I face the other way and shoot him a thumbs up.
Why do I have to be so damn awkward? This is James for merlin's sake.
We reach the last carriage waiting for us that's heading to Hogsmeade, and James hops on. He reaches out an arm for me to grab, but I choose the railing instead, leaving his hand alone in the air. I want to slap myself because I always take his hand, but it means something different. It's not my friend helping me. It's my date being a romantic gentleman.
He puts his hand down nervously, and he sits down which brings upon a new problem. Remus and Sirius and Peter always sit next to each other and I would sit next to James due to lack of other options, it had become habitual. My question is: the carriage is empty, there are other options, where do I sit? If I sit opposite to him, it might seem like I'm trying to put distance between us, however, if I sit next to him, I might seem pushy, and-
I don't get another second to panic when the carriage starts moving, and I stumble next to him. I purse my lips, knowing that fate has decided where I'm going to be sitting for this short ride.
Normally, I would lean into James, allowing him to wrap an arm around my shoulder, earning us many teasing comments from the rest of the boys that we've grown accustomed to over the years.
Normally, we wouldn't go out on a date at all, so I stayed to my side, shoulders tense and tension in the air. I wonder if James feels it, too. The ride is silent, and when we arrive at hogsmeade, James doesn't offer me his hand to get down, just another reminder that today is different.
"Where do you wanna go?" James asks, and I shrug my shoulders when I infant have very strong opinions about every single place here. James already knows this and takes us to the three broomsticks. My heart stumbles, smiling at the reminder that James knows me so well.
Our fingers crush together, and my heart jumps to my throat, and I stumble over air. For what seemed like the millionth time that day, I wanted to slit my own throat out of embarrassment. He grasps my waist, making sure I don't fall, creating a warmth over my waist that makes me want to glue his hands there so he can stay this way forever. Unfortunately, my stupid body blushed, and I took a step back.
We walk inside the three broomsticks and James leads me to a table with two seats, instead of five. I sit down opposite to him, and gaze out the window. Couples are walking down the street, holding hands and kissing. I really really want to do both those things with James, I've been waiting to do them forever, but here I am being stupid, on a stupid date, nearly falling when his hands come even close to mine. He sits down next to me, and he looks at me for a few seconds, I flush and look away.
That apparently was the final straw for James because he goes, "What's up with you today?"
"What do you mean?" I say after clearing my throat, he laces his fingers together on the table and says, "You realise that that is the first thing you've said the entire time that I've seen you."
It takes me by surprise because I register that he's right, we've been together for at least twenty minutes and in those twenty minutes not a single word has left my mouth. I fidget with the napkin in front of me and say, "I'm just not a big talker..."
"Y/n...I'm James. We've been friends for years, why are you acting like you don't know me? Like I don't know that you can't keep your mouth shut for two minutes?"
I blush, and he continues, "You tripped when I tried to be even near you...I- if you don't want this, you've got to tell me-"
"I do want this, I want this so much...".
"But?"
"I'm just really, really, really nervous."
He looks at me and replies, "But you've been on dates before."
"Dates with people who aren't you, James." I admit, and I must've grown another head because that's the way that James is looking at me. He says, "What's so scary about me?"
"That you know me." I say, and he tilts his head, I elaborate, "Any other date, I talk about many things, ask them about themselves, if they've got siblings and all that, but I already know you, I don't have any of those questions to fall back on. Any other date, I have to wear something to knock them off their feet, but I can't do that with you because you know me. Any other date, I'm not terrified that this will mess up my entire friend group dynamic and on any other date, I wouldn't be this nervous because I've never liked anyone the way I like you and I need you to like me the same way."
I sigh when I'm done and James's eyes are twinkling, he pushes her glasses back and he says, "You don't need all these things."
"We don't need to talk about those stupid things, and you don't need to wear something amazing to knock me off my feet because you've already done that, a while ago actually. You most certainly don't have to worry about messing up our friend group because you cannot even if you tried, Sirius will not allow it." He laughs, and I chuckle along with him. "And you definitely do not need to be nervous because I already like you more than you'd believe because i know you"
I don't need to give it another thought, for once in his life, James is right. I sigh, "You're really good at calming me down."
He smiles, "You act as though that's a new thing. Remember during your OWLs when you tried going under your bed because you thought that the exams couldn't get you from down there." He laughs at the fond memory while I flush at my stupid idea.
"What do you actually want to do today?" James asks after a beat. I think for a second, we always go to buy some prank supplies or candies, and while I still want to do that right now, I want to do something else.
I abandon my chair and sit next to him on the sofa. I sit an appropriate distance away from him, but he grabs me and pulls me flush against him.
"That's all?" James asks, and I shake my head, "well, that and this..." I trial off as I reach to intertwine our fingers, in some weird way it makes me nervous, but it also feels so right. James squeezes my hand, and I smile. I add,"And maybe some drinks."
One of the men that Madame Rosmerta hired comes and takes our order, the same thing we always get, butterbeers.
James' thumb rubs over my own hand, and while this isn't the first time he's done this, today, it has a different meaning. James asks, "Anything else your beautiful heart desires?"
It might be too early, but I tentatively lean it to capture his lips with mine. It's not our first kiss, and it's definitely much less messy, filled with fewer confessions, and more comfortable. James reciprocates in a millisecond, and his other hand reaches to cup my face.
We part for a gasp of air before James leans back in for another peck. It's only then that I realise that we're in public, I blush. What makes me blush even more is the way James is looking at me. I ask, "Have you always looked at me that way?"
"Definitely." He replies. I want to kiss him again when the man that works here slides over our drinks and says, "Two butterbeers for the lovely couple."
I don't want to correct him, and he leaves, but I wonder if James wanted to because for the first time today, he is incredibly nervous. I reach for his hand and say, "You okay?"
He nods quickly, and I chuckle nervously. Maybe he doesn't want to be my boyfriend. I ignore the sunken feeling in my chest and sip on my butterbeer.
"Do you not?" I ask, after a long sip.
"Do I not what?" James replies, confused, but looking even more nervous if possible. I take a deep breath and look him in the eye, I say, "Do you not want to be a couple?"
"I-"
"Because James, I don't know what we're doing then." I reply, I've never wanted anything casual, and certainly never with James, I want to be able to call him my boyfriend, decline another guy's invitation because I've got a boyfriend, not ponder over whether or not I mean to him as much as he means to me.
"I do." James says, and I look at him unsure. James adds, "I really really want you to be my girlfriend."
"James, are you sure because -" I start, and he silences me with a kiss. I can imagine him kissing me once at least every hour in the future. He says, "The only reason why I hesitated because I want this to last, I don't want you to reject me cause I don't think I can take a rejection from you"
I can see his worries. He's never been out on a date, and a date with a close friend is much more nerve wrecking, that's all aside from the fact that James has spent his entire life being turned down by lily and no matter how tough he tries to act, I know that he was genuinely hurt by the years of rejection.
I try to soothe his worries, "I'm already out on a date with you, James. I'm not going to turn you down...plus, I'm already your girlfriend, I'm not going anywhere."
He smiles, but he says, "You could get sick of me."
"If I could've gotten sick of you, I would've during first year, but I'm still here."
