congratulations mia, you outdid yourself again with jeonghan’s fic🎉🎉

you remember how excited i was for his story? now i can sleep peacefully at night knowing that it is just here, waiting to be read again

(for readers: spoiler alert, don’t read this ask if you haven’t read Accidentally Kidnapping a Mafia Boss)

as for my insights and thoughts:

(1) planning to kidnap soonyoung was so smart of yn. when i read that on the teaser. my initial thought was “she’s gonna use that brain again later in the story” and boy was i right. it was her brain vs. han’s unending luck. tbh her plans on driving han out were good but han so lucky her plans didn’t worked. what i wasn’t expecting is her to plan jeonghan’s escape. meticulously at that. i guess love does change people.

(2) why does jeonghan has to be dyeing his hair the moment minguk came? or having the shaving cream all over his face when the police arrived? even the universe doesn’t want him to be caught, it literally rained to wash away han’s wanted posters. his unlimited luck cracked me up (i felt bad for yn’s wasted efforts a little bit)

(3) bss as yn’s bestfriends omg. they are absolutely the best. their bickering added flavor to the fic, too. and jeonghan thinking they and yn have a thing, i don’t blame him. imagine having gorgeous guys around like that, would never be me. is there a bit of jealousy there too?

(4) it is both a dream and a nightmare to live in a small town because everyone’s gonna know your business. also, her mom coming over as fast as she could still cracks me up. wrong timing mom. she even stayed the night and slept beside yn. i can’t fanthom yn and jeonghan’s frustration. also, i know yn said her mom was nosy but i didn’t expected her to be that nosy, she told han yn’s business😭😭

(5) han finding out he was held hostage broke my heart. i know one way or another he’s gonna find that out coz that’s why he’s there on the first place. at the same time, my blood boils because BOHYUN😠😠. i hate him sm. yn is so brave for cutting him off. sadly han got the wrong idea and gave himself to the police coz he loves yn so much

(6) let’s give his assistant 1 a round of applause coz he is so smart he deserves a raise and a paid vacation. he thought of tracking han’s phone so he knows where han is? loyal and smart. letting the boys go with their poorly executed plan coz it means jeonghan will be safe? loyal and smart. if jeonghan won’t give him his pay raise i will hunt han down.

(7) yn sexy brain at the end!!! i said it before and i’ll say it again. the plan is so well done. honestly i am expecting her to wait for jeonghan to be let out of prison after years (i don’t know what it is called). she even got to use her dressmaking skills and made costumes. i fell in love with her more.

(8) han changing his life for yn, that’s love right there. he’s so sexy for asking yn for consent and respecting her decisions. yn going out of her comfort zone coz she loves han too. i want what they have😭😭

you are so great mia. you made me feel like a thousand emotions in one sitting. cheers to this fic, your past fics and the fics you’ll be writing in the future. 🎉🎉🎉 yay mia

Ahhhh you saw through that foreshadowing omg I love that! She is actually smarter than the average person but Jeonghan is just lucky? That aspect of the fic came from a very personal place because I in general have very very poor luck and whenever I watch GoSe, Jeonghan’s luck truly makes me so stupidly annoyed 😂 I wanted to incorporate that, and you, being the best person ever, amazingly noticed that 🥲

BSS are my favourite chaotic set of friends hahaha the 70K version actually had a lot more of them leading to high levels of crack but the 29K one focused more on OC and Jeonghan's relationship and character development? And yes, I think Han had a bit of ulterior motive asking that question hehehhe

Small towns are really a bit of both hahaha I could never live in a place like that omg but these two made it work for 10 days so kudos to them hahaha and regarding her mom, yeah gosh she's a bit too intrusive but hey, it's because of her that things finally started moving ahead between our couple 🤭

Oh yeah, I needed that bit of angst just to push the plot forward - give OC the final push towards her character development and let Jeonghan too go to lengths he never thought he could for a person!

Assistant 1 truly came through ahahaha, he too had a big hand in Jeonghan's escape and his chance to have a happily ever after with OC so he's definitely getting that raise 😂

Our OC has had enough of waiting, she discovered herself thanks to Jeonghan and she wasted no time in living it 😅

I guess Han has been the one who's always respected her boundaries and OC was the one who truly looked out for him - they really did need and deserve each other 🥲😭

Do you think Saeyoung and Saeran find their way back to each other in every timeline regardless of which route the MC picks? I like to think so. But, I don’t know how that would happen lol.

If we are going by the confines of what happens canonically, unfortunately, I have to answer they do not always find their way back to each other. Is that a popular answer? It is not a popular answer, my friend.

It is also a reason why some people beat themselves up over the nonsense of "True" or "Real" Ends. I have said it once and I will say it a hundred times, there is no such thing as a definitive ending in an Otome game.

The only ending that truly matters for you is the one you get with your favorite character. You are the one that decides what happens after the curtains close. I sure hope that nobody beats themselves up over feeling like they're wrong for loving a character that's not one of the twins.

You are not wrong, my friends.

Here's the great thing about this game and many other games like it, the reality is that things aren't always going to be perfect. You're not going to get a cute little bow on every possible ending because there's always going to be something amiss in your life. At best, you'll always have some kind of conflict or this and that.

It's why you get "better" outcomes in certain routes for different characters and why other characters might be "less fortunate".

A less drastic example might be how Jumin and Zen engage with each other.

Those two are really only able to have a proper heart to heart in Zen's Route. Sure, in every other timeline, they will find some common ground and be able to be friends, but it will never be the same as it is in Zen's timeline. That's because of the way the circumstance played out. Zen was able to realize that he and Jumin not only had a lot in common—but he was projecting his older brother and the person his parents wanted him to be onto Jumin. He was only able to have that epiphany because of the severity of the situation.

As depressing as it might sound, it's one of the reasons why I enjoy the game for what it is. Because things aren't always going to be perfect and you're not going to be able to help everyone the way you want to. That's life.

Even though I play this game for escapism, it's still nice to have that reinforced because things can't always be perfect. It is a painful fact, but we can strive to do better despite all of that. Even if we get cracked and bruised along the way, all of those imperfections make us who we are. Are we really human if we're not imperfect? We are not infallible creatures. Nobody's perfect. I love these characters because they're not perfect. They make me feel better about being myself.

As difficult as it can be for me, there are just some timelines where the boys don't get to be reunited. I hate it. I don't enjoy it. But... it's just something that can happen. Do I think it's inevitable that they will run into each other? Oh, in no uncertain terms, I do think it's likely that they are bound to collide in some way, but the manner in which it happens may not always be in person, and it may not always be in good health.

Jaehee's Route? V lies through his teeth about Mint Eye and tries to sacrifice himself. Saeyoung is going to realize sooner or later that his friend lied to him and something is wrong. He'll end up at Mint Eye in the future, and he'll encounter his brother, and God knows what he'll find because we don't know how much punishment Unknown faced for failing to bring MC to Mint Eye. He already knows where the location is so it's only a matter of time. 

Zen's Route? V is nowhere to be seen, to the point where Jaehee says that if Jumin can't find him, it might be time to give up. So, we know that he's been missing for a while but no such information is given on Saeyoung. He's not going to let V disappear. However, I think the outcome in this situation would be dreadful for Unknown. He got much closer than he did in Jaehee’s route, and failed. I don't know what condition he'll be in when he's found, but I know his brother will be looking for him... if he can even find him and V.

Yoosung's Route? Saeyoung's not going to leave his brother in Mint Eye. God knows how he's going to get him out of there, but hey, we know the brothers meet there and something will have to change as the curtains roll, but we are not privy to it since Yoosung and MC are not aware of Saeyoung's possible steps to save his brother. I don't know how that's going to play out. Will they be reunited or will it end poorly? 

Jumin's Route? You know, there is not a lot of information on the significance of Mint Eye in this timeline. A lot of the work Unknown does is in the shadows. So, frankly, I have no idea if the boys would ever be reunited in this timeline. Mint Eye gets put to the wayside in this situation because of Glam and Sarah. I try not to think too hard about Jumin’s timeline… because of BE3, and knowing the way that Unknown feels in that situation... I fear the worst before Saeyoung has a chance to find him.

For the most part, there is a chance for the boys to be reunited, but there is no guarantee that the reunion will be a happy one.

I FINALLY have the time to gush about the new CG for mm's 7th anniversary, so I'll make the most of it despite my tired and sleepy brain!

AHHH AND I MUST SAY, this is SUCH a soft CG this time around! The last one we got was so fancy and grand, while this one gives off much more wholesome and sentimental vibes. I LOVED the 6th anniversary CG btw! Just pointing out the details! Everyone's masquerade outfits still have me in a chokehold ngl

It's wedding themed! Which we knew already, but boy, oh boy, does it hit different to actually see it. I have such a huge silly grin on my face as I look at this CG. Ahem, yeah, we love and adore Jaehee Kang on this blog. I love seeing her dressed up in a way that makes her feel pretty and true to herself. She wasn't allowed that much in her life. But now, she is literally glowing from within. Sure, her dress is beautiful, but it's her inner beauty that makes me get all mushy. I would honestly just look at her with hearts in my eyes like a cat does to its favorite person. That's me. I'm that cat.

I love Jumin's smile!! Look at him!! He's so happy to see you! We need more of Jumin just being comfortable and happy. I love that for him. His full smile is really lovely <3

Saeyoung is my best buddy, and I am SO happy to see him with his glasses on for once! But, more than that, I love how they depicted him here. Sure, it'd be great to see his huge mischievous grin, but his smile here is bashful, light, peaceful. It's the type of smile you make without even realizing it. He's completely relaxed here, and that fact alone makes me feel emotional. He truly looks at you like he sees an entire galaxy in your eyes. And, he's more than willing to get lost in it. Because he knows you'll keep his heart safe.

Is this my new lock screen? Yes. Did I cry about it? Yes. Were those happy tears? Absolutely.

Saeran, oh, Saeran... His eyes say it all. We don't have to see a big smile on his face to know that his heart is fluttering right at this very moment. You just know he'd gladly stay with you in this moment for all eternity if he could. I am crying over his adorable blush. Saeran is a blushy boy, and I adore that about him. His cheeks still go all red even after all these years of knowing you. I just know he's gently pressing his lips to the petals and imagines that it is your lips he's kissing. It may be silly, since he can kiss you anytime he wants now, but he still finds these small things a little sentimental. I certainly don't mind.

Yoosung and Jihyun are looking absolutely wonderful as well, I just didn't really have anything noteworthy to say about them! And yes, there are flowers, and like I said in my tags, flowers are something to cry over. I won't be analyzing the meaning of them in my post, but I will cry my eyes out about them under other people's posts!

Asakusa Adventures part one:

2/1 dinner with friends and 2/2 Senso-ji Temple

After leaving Ochanomizu, Charles and I took the train to Asakusa, our next stop in Tokyo. We had dinner plans to meet with a friend and her family that night, and we planned to explore the area the following day (which is yesterday, at the time of writing!)

Our friend, Penko, her husband As'maria, and two sons took us to Asakusa Ichimon, which is a super traditional restaurant. It was featured in the movie Shin Ultraman which came out in 2022, and Charles really wanted to visit it as a film location, but before we could even mention it to her, she was already suggesting that we should all go together, and so we did!

The interior was amazing, I wish we had taken more photos. Taking photos inside establishments can sometimes be difficult, privacy is much more significant of a cultural consideration than in the US and we don't want to take photos of other patrons. It was a lot of gorgeous, dark wood, short, low to the ground tables, tatami mats, and floor chairs. There was a super zen, indoor water feature too, which was pretty cool, to put it mildly.

I don't even begin to know how to describe how tasty the food was; there was a huge menu of sakes (Japanese style alcohol, think sort of like a "rice wine" even though that's not strictly accurate) and shochu (more like a liquor), almost all, if not all of which, we'd never seen before in the states. The entire meal was a like...5 course experience, starting with a small appetizer of fruit, tofu, fish egg and beans (in honor of the Setsubun holiday, which is today [2/3] at time of writing!) all the way to a hot pot of tuna, leek, mushrooms and more. Genuinely everything was like, beyond delicious, and it was sooooo much food, without ever making us feel like we were totally gonna pop (although it was close). There was also a beef dish mid meal that was the first beef Charles had eaten in close to two decades, and it was worth it.

It was also really really special to get to spend the time getting to know Penko and her family better; I first met her here on tumblr actually, maybe....gosh, I don't know, 8 years ago? give or take a year? through a mutual fandom (we were both fans of a specific pairing in a video game called Danganronpa, where she was a very popular fan-artist at the time). Since then, we've met her in Japan a few times on trips, and we've slowly gotten to know her family over the last few years. After our engagement, Penko actually drew some lovely art for us as a congratulations; if you were at our wedding, we had it displayed near our guestbook :P

The following day, we spent exploring around our Airbnb in Asakusa, as well as visiting Tokyo Skytree. Our stay was on the second floor, above a restaurant, right in the heart of the district.

We started the morning early at Cafe Royal, a super old-school Showa-era coffee shop built in the early 1960s. We had coffees and breakfast there, and their specialty Royal Coffee has to have been one of the best coffees I've ever had. It almost reminded me of dark chocolate in terms of its acidity and smoothness. It was truly awesome.

Afterwards, we spent some time shopping at Uniqlo, a Japanese clothing store (there are some in the states too, if you're curious!) My favorite pair of jeans ripped badly on the plane, and I wanted to replace them, so I bought a new pair at Uniqlo, as well as some of their warm layering clothing, which they're well known for, to stave off the February chill. Charles also got some warm winter wear, so we're both totally topped off for the rest of the trip with trendy heat-tech goodies.

We also wandered around the streets and streets and STREETS of Asakusa's extensive shopping and food district surrounding the massive, gorgeous Senso-ji temple. One thing I love about Japan is that these huge shopping districts often have covered roofs over the streets so even if it's raining or kinda crappy weather, you can still walk freely across blocks without too much trouble. We were mostly window shopping, but we definitely stopped for a few treats.

His eyebrows raised, lips pursed for only a moment. “Oh yeah? Wanna talk about it?” he gently pats the empty spot on the couch next to him. And in response, Victoria tiredly sat down.

“So, did anything happen?”

Zen's eyebrows furrowed. Not only in bewilderment but also in silent irritation because Victoria didn't get straight to the point like she usually did.

hey, it happens sometimes!! i get art block pretty often. i used to beat myself up about it a lot, but...sometimes art just doesn't work, and i cant even draw my favorite characters. I wish i knew why. i think creative productivity just...comes in waves, for some of us (maybe most of us?) but maybe playing video games will give ur brain the space it needs to brew art and story ideas. theres no sense trying to drive on an empty tank, right? it sucks because, at least for me, it makes me feel like i must not be an artist anymore, because im not making stuff Right Now. and i just have to ride the wave of not drawing anything for a bit until whatever magic force in my brain makes me creative comes back. it's unfortunate, but i think periods like this are just natural for lots of creative people. but as long as you're having fun with whatever ur doing that isn't art, that's the important thing!! love from the other side of the net, i hope this passes soon for you <3

So, no, I spend absolutely no time thinking about Toji's swag.

Zero time thinking about his sexy back.

Ok he's KINDA sexy. kinda.

So to answer your ask I pulled panels that I think might say something about Toji and then mixed it all with my perhaps unrealistic hc that Toji was actually quite the domestic daddy. It just so happened to be that Megumi-mama's death broke him.

Basically Toji is such a tragic character.

I am no longer who I used to be

So first there's defo a clear delineation in how Toji perceives himself. The person he was before he took the Fushiguro last name, Zenin Toji, and Fushiguro Toji.

And remember, names have power because they define your sense of self. ngl I love that my name is victoria.

I think there's some disagreement as to who was Fushiguro, whether Megumi's mom or Tsumiki's mom, but I personally prefer the idea that it was Megumi's mom.

My perspective, I'll admit, is a bit romanticized, it's just that Toji is always shown as being sentimental about Megumi and Megumi-mama.

So I like the idea that he took the Fushiguro last name because it was Megumi's mom's. I feel like in his head this also served the purpose of hiding himself and leaving behind the person he used to be. That is not to mention that it would also help keep Megumi a secret from the Zenin.

Self-sabotage runs in the family

I get the sense that Toji internalized all of the toxic masculinity of the Zenin household and expressed it by being a complete fuck up.

I get the sense that Toji was so disillusioned with life that he just allowed himself to become the worst version of himself until he met Megumi's mom.

He was also a womanizer, which implies that he knew he was good looking or was attractive to others and probably used that to his advantage.

Toji, truly was, irredeemable.

Just appalling behavior, really.

But I think that's part of Toji's tragedy, that just like Megumi, Toji did not grow up in an environment that was conducive to fostering one's best self. It's like a testament of how damaging extreme psychological attitudes like the ones held by the Zenin can poison the psyche and the sense of self and severely limit its ability to self-actualize.

In that sense, Toji and Megumi (more specifically Megumi) are examples of breaking the cycle of trauma from abuse. It's all about generational trauma getting passed on generation after generation until someone can break the curse.

So yeah, we gotta talk about everybody's favorite toxic family, the Kardashians Zenin.

The Zenin

Now, the irony of the Zenin is that their last name is a literal allusion to a family that is "Zen". And what is Zen if not mindfulness?

Quite the contrary, the Zenin, as an institution within Jujutsu society, epitomize everything that is wrong with Jujutsu Society: misogyny, toxic masculinity, corruption.

There's this really "cute" platitude, something about "bloom where you're planted."

And I believe you can bloom where you're planted. But when the very soil that is the basis for your sense of self is poisoned, well, the way you bloom is going to be a little poisoned.

So I imagine Toji's behavior was a sort of open defiance to the pressure to perform and conform to the unrealistic expectation his family held of him.

For that reason, I think the fact that he's a direct descendant of the previous head of the Zenin clan is a big fucking deal. Like, how are you going to be the son of the clan's head and not even be able to use Cursed Energy?

The nerve!

In other words, if he couldn't be accepted for who he was, what was the point in trying? Why not just give up altogether and be a complete and utter fuck up?

Sorcerer Killer

Is it a collective headcanon or canon that Toji started killing sorcerers as a way to impose his sense of self against the injustice of being rejected for not having the same abilities as sorerers?

I'm assuming someone said "I'll pay you" and he said "sure ok" and he just became known as the person to go to if you wanted to kill a sorcerer.

Like father, like son

Is a testament to how broken Fushiguro Toji is.

How does a father forget his son? Or more like... how does a father make himself forget he has a son he would rather forget he has?

Anyways, this reads to me like psychological suppression. And I have to wonder how much Toji had to resort to suppressing himself and his thoughts while growing up in the Zenin household.

Yeah you could take the panel at face value, or you can take the whole context of Toji's backstory and the environment he grew up in, + the tragedy of Megumi Mama's death, and wonder whether Toji cared so much about Megumi that he knew the best thing for him was to not be in his life.

He's a fuck up, right? Worst of the worst. So what's better than abandoning his child with someone else who is capable of caring for him the way he can't?

That's a lot of self-awareness on Toji's behalf if you ask me.

I just get the sense that Toji does not see himself as a "good" person and doesn't care to prove anyone wrong about it.

Toji had to learn to control his strength

Like... what if something as simple as splitting chopsticks is something that requires a lot of finesse and concentration for Toji? Makes me wonder if Toji had to learn to regulate his strength.

Toji is utterly unimpressed

Due to the word choice in the panel above, I have to wonder about how Toji perceives most people who can use cursed energy.

In other words, he's completely unimpressed with most sorcerers and their abilities because he has found he can overpower the vast majority of them with raw strength alone.

Think of it this way, he's the direct descendant of the head of the Zenin clan and is considered an anomaly and a failure due to his inability to use Cursed Energy, right?

Now...

If, in the words of a Zenin, the Zenin clan exists because of Toji's whim, that tells me that the Zenin feared Toji's physical prowess even if they did not acknowledge him.

It tells me Toji was perhaps unafraid to demonstrate his strength in order to gain respect from others in a similar way Maki did during the Perfect Preparation arc.

But for some reason Toji never quite did anything about it and instead decided to leave the clan.

I wondered for a sec whether Naobito perhaps defeated him but then I remembered how easily Toji took on Dagon compared to Naobito struggling.

I think what's sad about it is that after going to such lengths, Toji still found himself as the clan's reject.

In a sense, even if he could wipe out the clan, it wouldn't achieve being accepted and acknowledged as a human by them. And honestly, I can't say for sure that he wanted to be accepted and cherished by the Zenin, but the human need to belong is incredibly powerful.

So to see him call himself a monkey in spite of what he's able to accomplish shows how deep that wound runs.

To see his endless plight to validate himself in a world that denied him the belonging he most likely desperately sought...

And it's a real tragedy just how damaged Toji's self esteem is and how growing up in the Zenin clan completely destroyed his self-esteem.

Which brings us back full circle to...

I am no longer who I used to be + Megumi-Mama

Fudge me.

I know you specifically asked about Toji's early life in the clan but I find myself unable to write about Toji without addressing the clear delineation of who Zenin Toji was before he became Fushiguro Toji.

Again, this is assuming that Megumi's mom was the one with the Fushiguro last name, which I don't think Gege has confirmed.

But there's just something about how Toji was changed from his meeting Megumi's mom and Megumi's birth.

If Zenin Toji was unafraid to impose his will in order to validate himself through raw strength, we can assume from the panels above that Fushiguro Toji became someone whose priorities were reorganized when he met Megumi's mom.

Perhaps for the first time in his life he saw a reason to become the better version of himself and then he had that taken from him.

Breaking the curse of intergenerational trauma

Last but not least, Toji passes the torch onto Megumi...

I love that even though Toji had set out for Megumi to be sold to the Zenin clan because he thought it was the best for him, he is glad to hear his son did not have to grow up in the same toxic environment he grew up in.

God I love Jujutsu Kaisen... please excuse me while I go cry in the corner.

This winter really did feel like a proper solstice, in the best and the pits of the worst ways.

As we descended into winter and long nights, it was the peak of me struggling with my new situation, passing out, restarting, losing time. By the end of it I'd be awake for like one hour of big fireball in the sky and then pass out and be back in the eternal night.

At that point my pain was, I think, at its peak but it all gets kind of blurry when you've known intense pain for a long time anyway and were swimming in a groggy fishbowl for 2-3 months.

And yeah, even the most upbeat and stable person takes mental health hits when you're getting dragged under in a torrent of pain, reboots, and eternal darkness.

Then here passes the solstice. Days are getting longer and I'm realizing that even if things are topsy turvy this very second, it's all going to flip around, first in a few weeks, then a few months, and so on. Like as long as I keep my cool and don't go suburban housewife about a few months of my credit, I'm good.

But with the chair, like. Today I forced myself to walk to try to achieve a few things, and paid for it and lost half the day to needing to sleep again. While the effect isn't immediate, I'd say it's pretty proof positive of 1:1 effect after days without walking or passing out. And that says nothing for how it FEELS when I TRY.

So the chair itself is a glo up, it immediately flipped my mood, has direct effects, the days are getting longer, I feel functional again, and my pain scales down without pissing off those muscles. Like, I'm learning how to function again. Slowly.

But it's also expediting future dreams I had over the next few years. Like I said I knew it was coming, just not how or when. And it's making other potential choices take shape, like transitioning.

Odds are by 2024 there's going to truly be a whole new me with the way things are tilting. I'm talking house, business, medical transition in full. But I just gotta zen through where I'm at this second, just ride the wave and roll with it, literally.

I'm just in a cocoon for the winter that's all. But the wings are getting itchy.

like i had someone genuinely provide an explanation on how zen would body shame you, jumin would pressure you into being perfect and would overall be abusive, yoosung would deny you of your autonomy and force you to act like rika, seven would be very verbally abusive and neglectful and saeran would be emotionally, verbally and physically abusive. Can y'all even read the media you're consuming? Haha, I don't want to sound mean but there are definitely times when I've come across someone's perception of the Mystic Messenger characters where it's clear they want to present something as 100% canon to the Good Ending timelines—

When, in truth, it's just a byproduct of the Bad Endings where most of the choices you make are deliberately toxic and spurn the worst of the worst. You have to actively click toxic responses to get a lot of the Bad Endings like the ones you just described. Jumin's notorious Bad Ending? You are actively feeding into his paranoia and supporting the feelings he has, while also indulging in the toxicity as well.

That's not who Jumin is at his best and to put it in his Good Ending is an absolute disservice to his character. Listen, if you want an ending where Jumin indulges in BDSM, then you can have it. You can imagine it in the good ending where there is nothing but consent and respect to consent. You don't have to have it in a toxic ending where it is not indicative of a healthy relationship. It's one thing if you want to play around in a bad ending because sometimes that's interesting, but it's another thing to act like those qualities in the bad ending are canon to a good ending.

If you see someone utter the words: "Zen would body shame you" let me know where they're at because who the fuck do you think Hyun Ryu is?

That is a character who has struggled with body insecurities his entire life and he would never belittle another person. He knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end of people judging you just because of the way you look and he would never want to make another person feel that way.

Just because he likes to overcompensate from his insecurities by telling himself that he's beautiful doesn't mean that he's a narcissist who's full of himself. Language has power, and if you call yourself trash, you're eventually going to believe you’re trash. I'm not saying you have to call yourself beautiful everyday, but keep in mind that you can manifest what you feel just by repeating it over and over again.

Ah, yes, people who whine and cry about Seven being mean to them in the apartment. The people who want him to wear his jokester mask until the end of time. The people who cannot understand that he is having an existential crisis, and that doesn't excuse his actions mind you, but they don't want him to be who he truly is, they want him to continue to pretend.

I have seen so many people talk about the time in the apartment and the fact is simple. They don’t get it or even try to get it. Saeyoung was lied to. The promise he threw his life away to protect his baby brother was a lie, and his brother is suffering, and his sacrifice was for nothing.

Not only that, he is afraid that if you get close to him, you might suffer the same fate and he knows he can't stomach that twice. His actions in the apartment aren't healthy, that's right, but if you really look at him, you can tell but his actions are alive from the very beginning, and he can't even remain cruel to you because you make him want to live. If you treat him like a toy who only appeases you, then you're going to get the Bad Ending.

Don't get me started on Saeran.

Please don't get me started because I’ve talked about it a hundred times. I have to say this because some people lack media literacy these days, just because I can explain why Ray and Suit Saeran did what they did doesn’t mean it excuses those actions. There is no excuse for what Ray did or what Suit Saeran did. Suit Saeran tells you directly that even if he intended to hurt himself, he hurt you and Ray in the process, and he has to own that fact.

Ray realized he was wrong to lie to you, and he tried to right his wrong by making a fake elixir and lying to the Savior to protect you from what he brought you into. They carry those damn actions they committed like an anchor, and you don’t have to accept the apology GE Saeran gives you.

GE Saeran doesn’t forgive himself until the very end of his After Ending. Because, it doesn't matter if you forgive him for what he's done, he can't forgive himself for what he's done, and a part of the reason why he ends up for giving the people who hurt him has to do with forgiving himself.

In his heart, he knew that he no longer wanted to choose anger and pain, and to forgive himself, he knew he needed to forgive those who hurt him so that he could live his life without carrying that anger. He doesn't want to be angry anymore, he wants to live a life of happiness and peace.

Honestly, I think since most people don't like V or Rika, they don't bother to create stories that romanticize the unhealthy aspects of their characters, or the qualities that play into the Bad Endings. For V fans, it's hard enough to enjoy him when people want to tear him apart, but at least, they seem to be free from horrid mischaracterization in this regard.

Let's see, that "Act like Rika" Ending? You did that to him! You kept reinforcing the similarities with yourself and Rika until he started to believe the delusions! You're the one who prompted that situation. You choose those actions. The RFA wanted to stop you from doing that to Yoosung! That is a Bad Ending! It's a Bad Ending because Bad Things Happen!

That's the point! Those Bad Endings variables don't effect Good Ending because to achieve a Good Ending, you have to actively choose healthy options and help not only yourself but the character you love get to a point where they can open their eyes to the what they're going through and work to be better, not just for the people they love, but for themselves!

...You know what, I don't think I've ever seen someone do this Jaehee. The worst I've seen about Jaehee from the start is someone whining about her being passionate about Zen? I don't think I've seen anyone mischaracterize her romantically, she might actually be safe from this shit.

Zen is definitely no stranger to hard work, that's for sure. He had to fight tooth and nail in order to get to where he is now. It wasn't odd for his friends and acquaintances to call him a workaholic, to which he merely laughed it off, playing it as simply a lighthearted joke. After all, Zen loves his job and it's natural that he'd want to be better himself at it. Still, there's more to life than just work. And while he did find himself struggling to maintain this fragile balance at certain times of his life, he always had his other hobbies and friends to distract him whenever it was needed. Going out to a lively bar to let loose and forget all about your responsibilities is something he definitely wouldn't miss out on.

So, if he sees that his kid is doing their best to reach their goal?

He would support them unconditionally. But if he takes notice that it is now getting to the point where they can't think of anything else and are starting to neglect their basic needs? That's when he knows that he has to step in before something bad happens.

Simply telling them to spend less time on work wouldn't work and it wouldn't help. It's a much more complex issue, and while Zen may struggle at first, he knows that his child needs his support and love now more than ever.

He'll gently coax them to take a minute away from their assignment, sitting them down on the couch and holding onto their hands with his own. It's obvious that they're stressed and anxious, and the sight of these fears clouding his precious child's formerly bright gaze breaks his heart into a million pieces.

He knows that look all to well, and that's exactly why it hurts so much. It's like he's looking at his younger self, so lost and scared, without anyone to turn to. But, his kid will never have to fight through life all on their own. So, he'll talk to them.
