Dream A Little Dream [With] Me

Warnings: Slightly graphic (but unrealistic) description of injury. Choking.

"What exactly is your game here, Lawrence?"

The world bends and warps around her words, like a thin film being distorted by heat. The two demons sit far apart, separated by a matte black desk and a gorge cut straight into the mantle. The smell is unbearable, cloying sweetness dancing with the tar bubbling up from the wound in the floor. 

The two demons sit far apart, disconnected. But the world bends and warps around her words, and the younger demon cannot resist the pull. 

He flinches. Tar coats the back of his throat, and marigold blooms in his lungs. 

He should not need to breathe. 

He should be safe. 

He should be far enough away. 

But he is not. He is not. He is not.

He flinches, and he chokes, petals dripping jet black from his mouth and crystalizing into obsidian dewdrops, scattering around him like the shed tears of a monster, unfathomably large, and yet, heartbreakingly small. 

"You can't even say?" The older demon scoffs, acidic smoke billowing from that canyon between them. Clinging, clinging, clinging, staining his suit, his body, his filthy, rotting bones. His claws break skin, and the same smoke echoes forth. "...You don't know, do you?" 

Her words are candy sweet, drenched in pity. She shakes her head, stands from her chair. Remains unfazed as her desk is swallowed by that growing canyon, bubbling with viscous hate, hungrier by the second. 

Remains unfazed when it begins to swallow her, too. 

"You don't know because you've already shown your hand," she continues softly, sweetly, sinking slowly into the molten tar. Her hand reaches out, caresses his face, gentle as anything. "And you're terrified that they'll realize it's all you've got."

For the first time, the younger demon raises his heavy head. His lips, stained black like ichor, twitch around a weak snarl. Smoke slips between his sharp teeth. 

His claws dig into the older demon's wrist, sinking butter-smooth through flesh and sinew. 

She does not flinch.

"They–" 

He coughs, voice hoarser than hell. Tar-coated marigolds splatter on the older demon's deathly pale face. 

She does not flinch. 

"They like playing with me," he grits out, gnashing far too many teeth. The older demon is nearly submerged, now, arm straining to remain in his tearing, iron grip. "T-They don't care what cards I got."

She smiles. It is achingly, painfully sweet. A terrible impression of a doting mother, pasted onto the face of a demon who never wanted to be. 

His claws snap through her radius first, and then her ulna. Her hand falls limp and lifeless in his lap, laid to rest in a pile of river-smooth obsidian and marigolds, like something precious, something holy. 

Blasphemous.

She does not flinch.

"But you won't be fun forever," she croons, tilting her head to the sky. The tar pulls at her taut skin, peeling her eyes open and wide. "And when they get bored of playing, Lawrence, who will you run back to?"

The younger demon watches emptily, eyes dulled and blackened, as the older is consumed in her entirety. The hand in his lap, once a mockery of the divine, rots away into a foul-smelling puddle of ichor. 

The demon, still sat in his chair, surrounded by obsidian tears and once-beautiful flowers, drops his head once more. 

Quiet submission. 

Exhausted acceptance. 

A neck bared to the waiting blade of the guillotine. 

"...You."

As I've said before, I have a lot of aus! My friend @deuynndoodles said I should make a masterlist of all of them. So I did! I was so tempted to keep writing stuff about them because I'm horrible at writing short summaries while also getting thr basis of the story across so it was a bit of a challenge cause when I start it's hard to stop me.

Anywhoooo heres a list of all my aus at the moment! There are minor ones I have and ones I've tossed out or forgotten but these are the ones I like so I hope you like them! (And if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask! I love talking about my aus!)

MY HERO ACADEMIA:

Ratiocination (Indigo Jets)- Vigilante Izuku, he has a quirk called pause that allows him to stop time but he cannot move and the longer he stays paused the more of his memories get erased. He's childhood friends with Bakugou and Shinsou who both worry when he disappears from their lives. His vigilante name is Indigo Jets.

Emerald Eyes (Manx)- Short Izuku with cat eye syndrome, he has a quirk that allows him to make bubble-like force fields similar to Steven universe. He's found by the Wild Wild Pussycats and they train him and later on becomes a part of the team. His hero name is Manx.

House of Glass (Rose/Grim/Grimrose)- Izuku is raised by the League of Villains and they're his big happy family. He has a quirk that allows him to erase and manipulate people's memories as well as a telekinetic quirk given to him by All For One. He's sent to UA as a spy but he ends up making friends and enjoying himself. He has the hero name Rose and the villain name Grim.

My Angel (Starlight)- Izuku has a quirk that gives him the powers of an Angel. He has wings and a halo and he's also an empath with healing abilities. He also has the power to visit the dead, his mom, and it's difficult not to fall in love with him when people meet him. His hero name is Starlight.

Out Of Reach (Tapeti)- Izuku Midoriya is taken by the league after making a deal with Shigaraki on the roof where All Might leaves him. They turn him halfway into a nomu, experimenting with quirkless candidates. Meanwhile, Bakugou is trying to find his friend through his years at UA, only to find out Izuku doesn't remember him, having been brainwashed and taking up the villain name Tapeti.

Green Thumb Garden- Izuku was sold to villains as a child because Inko couldn't afford to take care of him. He escapes a few years later and is shrugged off by a hero. He's taken in by a family who runs a garden shop and as they get older, he begins to run it. He believes he is quirkless but later on finds out he has a quirk that allows him to speed up the growth and healing of organisms like an enhanced fertilizer would.

Cerulean Flames (Deku)- Izuku gets lost in the crowd during a villain attack and can't find his mother. Instead, he finds a runaway Touya Todoroki who leads him back to safety. Izuku visits him almost every day and Dabi teaches him how to fight, play dirty and is there like an older brother for Izuku. When getting one for all, he also participates in helping Izuku train with All Might.

Glass Wings (Sterling)- Izuku is taken in by the Shie Hassaikai when he runs away from home. Over the years he learns that they're not all they seem, trying to unravel it from the inside out with his sister Eri and friend Rappa. They're about to run for it during the raid but are caught by heroes. Izuku, being so close to Eri and not having any recorded crimes, is put in a villain rehabilitation program at UA. His old villain name is Sterling, turned codename.

All For You (Deku)- Older Izuku, he went to school with Aizawa, Nemuri, Yamada, Oboro and Tensei, he being the closest with Tensei. In an accident with Oboro, Izuku is blinded in his right eye. Both are injured but survive. They all grow up to be heroes, Izuku also acting as an older brother figure to Bakugou. Izuku is also a teacher at UA in the heroics department, he teaches the students how to be safe and reduce damage to their surroundings and self.

Ignite (Phoenix)- Vigilante Izuku, he loves to sing and perform at the hotel and karaoke bar his family owns. The hotel is open to heroes, villains, vigilantes, civilians, the poor, discriminated against and everyone in between. His father was in an accident when he was young which paralyzed him from the waist down because a hero failed to save him. 

Izuku becomes a vigilante to look for people to come to the hotel. People who need the safety and those who have no place to stay. He has a quirk that allows him to manipulate fire. He doesn't need to look for people to pay because so many patrons already donate. Later on, Phoenix stops being a vigilante and becomes a full time singer. His name is Phoenix.

Circus Caliber (Ringleader)- Inspired by The Greatest Showman, it takes place when quirks are only beginning to appear. People believe them to be freaks and shun them from society. Izuku is quirkless but admires quirks and looks for people to join his quirked circus (everyone in 1a and thensome). He wants to show the world that quirks aren't bad or destructive. That they can be good if given the chance.

Panacea Paradox- Post quirk era, Izuku is a scientist who is fascinated with quirks. He tries to bring them back through experimentation and tests the completed formula on volunteers (1a). The experiment goes wrong, they have quirks yes, but they're all painful and grotesque. (An example would be Bakugou's explosions burn his hands horribly, mutation quirks have dead limbs, much bleeding and injuries, etc).

Izuku panics and drinks the last of the liquid, he gains a quirk that allows him to temporarily remove other's pain by inflicting it on himself. He desperately tries to find a cure but people die in the time he isn't able to. He means well but he makes many mistakes. (It's a rather dark au)

Fractured But Not Yet Broken (The Free Hero:Arrow)- Izuku has an incredibly self destructive quirk, it's called Fracture. It allows him to impact incredible telekinetic force to the point of breakage but in turn harms him immensely, broken bones, internal bleeding, lots of pain. The quirk gives him a slightly higher pain tolerance as well. 

Inko is immensely overprotective, sheltering him entirely from the outside world besides internet access. He goes to UA secretly while she's at work and becomes very close with his friends and the UA staff, Nezu especially. They take away inkos custody later on and he gets to live in the dorms. His hero name is Arrow.

Send A Sign (Beetlejuice)- Izuku dies hundreds of years ago (he's the same age as All For One) by being struck by lightning. He wakes up in the current day with no memories of his past.  He can only remember the word "Beetlejuice" as it was the musical he and his mother were going to see before he died. He wanders around and begins following a 4 year old Bakugou and it stays that way. Izuku's like his guardian. 

One day Bakugou says "Beetlejuice" 3 times while listening to the song and Izuku is now visible to him (part of quirk). Izuku is his friend, teaching Bakugou lessons and acting like a big brother. Izuku goes to UA with Bakugou and after the blass says his name, they all see him and he spends time with them, trying to regain his memories and joining them through the ride of becoming heroes. (I'll explain all of his powers some other time, it's a long list)

DANNY PHANTOM:

The Spectral Hero: Danny Phantom (Danny/Phantom)- Danny has a quirk that allows him to breathe and survive in space with no equipment but he doesn't know that since he's never been. The Fentons move to Japan from Amity. He's shocked by the portal and gains his normal ghostly abilities, telling people that is his quirk and not the result of a freak accident (he tells Aizawa later because he can't erase Danny's ghostliness). He has the persona of vigilante Phantom as well as Danny, the UA student. Aizawa knows it's him and they have a playful relationship, him acting as Danny's mentor. He later reveals to his class he is Phantom when moving into the dorms.

Pink Slip- Danny is more affected by the portal accident, as Fenton it makes him weaker and more vulnerable but it feeds into his ghost half with more power. He misses school for a month after the accident and doctors take the ectoplasm in his blood as some disease. They give his school a pass so he can visit the nurse at any time. Since he has an excuse, he often leaves class with full permission of the teachers cause they think he's just going to the nurse's office. People don't question why he always looks tired and has bruises on his body, just thinking he's weaker due to the accident.

Broken Watch- Danny is an ex a-list student who leaves when they start bullying kids. He takes a larger hit from the portal, giving him an electric core and powers that are more difficult to control but pack more of a punch. He gets taught about the ghost zone and other things by Clockwork after Dan and is given a defective pocket watch. Clockwork says by the time Danny fixes it, things should be alright. All or the numerals on it represent people in his life he must get closer to and those who will help him throughout his life to reach his full potential.

GRAVITY FALLS:

In A Black And White World- Dipper has the ability to see a dimension in between his and another, it's a dimension filled with magic. He is able to manipulate it but nobody else can see. He keeps it a secret until later on. It allows him to feel, see, taste, hear and smell others emotions and intentions. Their energies and feelings. He can see creatures that travel in the dimension, including Bill who teaches him about magic. He eventually manages to develop it enough so it becomes visible after seeing Bill use it in his body after his betrayal.

DUCKTALES: 

Operation Oversight- On an adventure, a bracelet with an intelligent sentient robot attaches itself to Louie when he examines it and through nightmares and threats convinces Louie to pursue Louie.Inc through any means necessary. This means forgetting his loved ones to reach his goal. His family finds out months after the adventure and they manage to break Louie out of the trance enough so he can destroy the bracelet.

Adroit- (similar to the concept of epithets) A small population of people in this world have superpowers and it just so happens everybody in the mcduck family gains powers. The story is basically all of them using their abilities and discovering different parts of them. (I'll get into all of their powers later on)

EDDSWORLD:

Chaosworld- A scientist with a vendetta against Tom attempts to steal his monster abilities but instead manages to give harmful mutations and powers to the gang. They try to revert the mutations and find a cure before it's too late for them all.

(Also also, I'm very sorry to those who follow me solely because of Chaosworld. I probably wont be writing anything for it for a very long time if I ever do get back to it. It just dosent really inspire me anymore, I'm sorry qwq. )

In light of leaving for so long it’s made me realize that I feel dead inside without writing so, I’m gonna do it again and hopefully this time stay. It’s just not my thing and plus I love making peoples personal fantasies come true, it is a big hobby of mine. 

Also if you request a character (assuming you’re asking for an anime request)  that is portrayed as a young teenager, then most likely (scratch that, the word I’m thinking of is “absolutely”) he/she will be written in a universe as a young adult/older than 18 because I’m all about legal consent to doing the fun shit either that...or not at all. (I have to make this big because I cannot stress enough how important this rule is and if you can’t comply, then I have every right to reject your request) Don’t argue with me please.

“You’re the WHAT?” Virgil’s screech rang out, probably through the whole kingdom.

Roman winced. “I’m the prince.”

Virgil felt his breathing quickly pick up. No way. No FUCKING way. There’s absolutely no way this guy’s the freaking prince, Virgil thought hysterically to himself, ignoring the fact that he was very obviously inside the palace. There’s no way this guy, this guy Virgil had been meeting with for WEEKS was the PRINCE. It just wasn’t possible.

Virgil and Roman had met just over three weeks ago, both of them hidden in the shadows on the outskirts of the palace’s adjacent village. Both men were decked in cloaks—Virgil’s, worn and black with purple patches he’d sewn on himself, and Roman’s, bright red velvet. In one shadowed alley, Roman leaned against the wall, casually watching all the people bustle along on the early Saturday afternoon. In another dark alley across the cobbled road, Virgil was inconspicuously peering out over the people, watching closely, unseen by anyone.

Well, seen by one person.

The pair had caught eyes over the heads of all the people. Before Virgil could panic and bolt away, the other man strode towards him, never breaking eye contact, even as he dodged the many people in his way.

When he’d finally reached Virgil, he flashed a charming smile from beneath his hood. He’d introduced himself as Ro, and Virgil shakily replied with ‘V’. Roman led the conversation and Virgil stumbled along with it, trying to sort through his thoughts of panic and maybe just a sprinkling of gay panic too.

Eventually, the conversation had ended, thankfully with Virgil significantly calmer and actually contributing, but still every bit as much hopelessly gay. With a promise to meet Virgil again tomorrow, Roman sauntered off, sending back a wink that may have made Virgil’s cheeks burn.

The following day, the two had met in the same corner. They easily struck up a conversation, talking for much longer than the day before. They met the next day as well. And the next day, and the next, and almost every day for the past few weeks, the pair met up. Usually for hours they’d stay together—though, occasionally, Roman would cut their meetings short. They ventured to the bakery together, to the bookshop, the meadow just beyond the village, the stream between the meadow and the forest, the top of a roof to view the stars, and one time they even walked to the neighboring town to explore.

They never grew tired of each other’s company and never ran out of topics to converse about. Neither of them ever got too deep into their families or their pasts, and Virgil had assumed they had the same reason for doing so. Well, wasn’t I so very wrong, Virgil thought to himself with a grumble.

And maybe Virgil found the other man seriously attractive and maybe over those few weeks Virgil could feel himself developing feelings, but it was fine. Totally fine.

Except it wasn’t fine, because it turns out this handsome misfit Virgil had fallen for was not only not a misfit, but the literal prince of the kingdom. Are you fucking serious? Only Virgil would have that kind of luck.

(All the times Virgil had politely pretended not to notice how Roman would pull his hood tighter around his face before they walked into a public place made a lot of sense to Virgil now.)

Ro—which Virgil now understood to be short for Roman—had been the prince the whole time. Virgil had been with the prince. For weeks. Virgil had called the prince teasing names. Virgil had talked about stealing food as a child to the prince!!

Virgil could feel himself spiraling. THE PRINCE! THE FREAKING PRINCE!

“V, I need you to calm down,” Roman said, crouching down beside Virgil. Virgil hadn’t even noticed that he’d sunk to the ground. His knees were pulled tightly to his chest and his fingers were curled into his hair.

“Can I touch you?” Roman asked. Roman, the prince, asking permission to touch a street rat like Virgil. What? Despite the absurdness of the situation to Virgil, he nodded, breathing shallowly.

Roman placed a hand on Virgil’s arm, gently tugging it away from his head to unfurl his fingers from his hair. “Alright, V, I need you to breathe with me, okay?” Roman brought Virgil’s hand to his chest, carefully tapping out a 4-7-8 rhythm onto his arm. It took a few tries, but after much encouragement from Roman, Virgil got his breathing under control.

With a final deep breath and exhale, Virgil slumped back against the table in exhaustion. Roman asked a servant wandering by to get a glass of water for Virgil. “V, I’m so sor—“

“Virgil.”

Roman snapped his mouth shut, staring at Virgil. “What?”

“Virgil. It’s my name. Felt weird for you to not know mine when I know yours,” Virgil said with a shrug, ignoring how shaky and breathless his voice sounded.

The servant arrived with the water and Virgil gladly drank it after the lady walked away with a pair of thank you’s.

After finishing the water, Virgil looked up at Roman, who looked right back. For the first time ever, the pair fell into an uncomfortable, awkward silence. Virgil looked into those bright eyes that he knew so well. Those bright eyes that he might not know as well as he thought.

“So… you’re the prince.” Virgil commented, picking at a thread on his cloak.

Roman bit his lip. “Well, technically, I’m not the prince, since there are thr—two princes.”

Virgil’s eyebrows scrunched together. He hadn’t missed that slip up, and he was curious about it. However, deciding that it wasn’t the time, Virgil let it slide. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Roman’s mouth opened, then closed. He searched Virgil’s eyes as he thought of a response. “I… I didn’t want to make it weird.”

Virgil snorted, shaking his head. “Guess what, Roman, it’s weird.”

“I know, I know but,” Roman sighed, glancing to the side, “I just didn’t want you to treat me differently.”

“Was this all a joke to you?” Virgil accused. Roman jumped back at the sudden change in tone. He didn’t get a chance to defend himself, however. Ignoring Roman’s gobsmacked look, Virgil pressed on. “Was this some sort of game? Make friends with the lonely guy on the street and then reveal how much better you are than him? Make me think I know you and then suddenly everything I know is a lie?”

“Virgil!” Roman cut off before Virgil could continue. “Nothing I told you is a lie. This wasn’t a game to me.” Virgil’s face was shrouded by guarded disbelief. “Honestly, it wasn’t. I’ve always gone to the village. I would sneak out as a kid to skip lessons, or to play with the kids in the meadow. As long as I stayed hidden beneath the cloak, no one would notice me. I was free to be Roman, instead of Prince Roman. I used it as an escape.”

Virgil slowly nodded. He understood needing to go somewhere to escape, probably better than most people.

“I made it a rule to never get too personal with someone, because I knew I could never be fully honest with them. But you were just so intriguing, it was like… like I was drawn to you. I wanted to be your friend. So I made it work.”

At that moment, someone walked through the door and Virgil became acutely aware of close he and Roman were. Roman was still crouched in front of him, a hand resting on his leg and probably less than two feet of space between their faces. Virgil’s face flushed and he shrank back a bit, but Roman didn’t seem too bothered. A light dusting of pink coated his cheeks but he calmly stood up and faced the newcomer.

“Oh, Roman,” the person said. “I was unaware you were actually home, I’d assumed you’d be in the village.” The person caught sight of Virgil then turned back to Roman. “Was I interrupting? My apologies.” They turned to leave.

“No, Lo, it’s fine.” Lo? Virgil wracked his brain. His eyes widened. Prince Logan, Roman’s little brother. He’d heard people in the town talk about how smart and cold he was.

“Well, fathers are looking for you.”

“Of course, I’ll be right there,” Roman said with a nod. “I’ll be right back, I promise,” he muttered to Virgil softly. “Logan can stay here with you, right, Lo?”

“Actually, I—“

“Perfect,” Roman said, heading out the door. He knocked Logan’s shoulder as he passed. “You’re the best, little bro.”

Roman walked out, and Virgil was more than a little panicked. His breathing didn’t speed up, thankfully, but he definitely didn’t feel calm.

Logan sighed, shaking his head. He turned to face Virgil and took a few steps into the room.

“Salutations. I’m Logan.”

Virgil wasn’t sure what to do. Should he bow? Isn’t that what you do when you meet a prince? He wasn’t sure. He’d never been taught the manners of meeting royalty!

“Uh, I’m—I’m Virgil,” he stuttered. Logan’s eyebrows raised slightly.

“Pleasure to make your acquaintance. You must be the ‘V’ that Roman has told me about, from the village?” Virgil nodded. “The reason he’s been sneaking out of the castle so often?”

Virgil’s eyes widened again. Was Logan upset with him? “I—I… yes?” Logan just nodded. They fell into silence.

As Virgil sat on the floor, tracing the patches of his cloak while Prince Logan stood stiffly a few yards away, he could only hope that Roman would return soon.
