I've seen my sister reading that book "a court of mist and fury" and I couldn't put my finger on why the title was catching my eye until a few minutes ago when I stopped dead in the middle of the hallway at the realization that it's because it's homestuck compliant.

Honestly, you might want to savor your ignorance. Time travel in Homestuck is a stress-fest that leaves you walking on eggshells.
Even worse, most traditional time-travel exploits aren't possible, due to enforced predestination. You can't save anyone - although you could probably resurrect them, through clever application of the Captcharoid Camera.
Generally, though, it seems like one of the less fun Aspects to get saddled with. The mechanics you're navigating are too restrictive, too punishing.

Oh, I get it now.
This is a Terezi/Vriska proxy war. They're getting antsy out in the Veil, and the old rivalry is flaring up - but they're restricted by their truce. Plus, they can't actually fight out there, since that whole situation is rather precarious.
Competing from inside the kids' session, though, is relatively safe - or, at least, it won't harm anyone important. How better for the Scourge Sisters to challenge each other, than to test out their manipulation skills on a pair of impressionable kids?

It'll be just like old times.

Karkat's fucking pissed!
I bet this is his first interaction with Dave, coming right off the heels of his first conversation with John.

Top 5 fansongs?
idk i don't think my favoritism is that strong, but here's 5 underrated ones that I tend not to shut up about
Walk With Me - deepfamilysfish(Firefly99) - Vriska, 2012 - i really really love how Vriska's quirk is involved here. i don't think anyone else has tried to make her say "eight" so much and i love it. and the perfectly in character gracious, melodic victim blaming? great stuff my friend :) walk with me :) take my hand :) let's run together :)
Die And Rise - melodyrose - Rose, 2014 - maybe the most vocally technical song in the category, posted on tumblr to less than 30 notes, basically the rule prover for how hard music gets shafted by social media as a fanwork genre. after all, Tumblr is the only platform you can even post audio directly to (soundcloud is not a social media like twitter/reddit/tumblr/etc. different category. but everyone lets you post video and images)
Every Me, Every You - kitsubasa and scientificSpeculator - Vriska and Eridan, 2012 - the only duet of this pair despite this relationship being a cornerstone of how both of them define themselves by people they're not i.e. their ancestors. this is two people fighting that push-pull of the appeal of Living Up To Legendary Greatness versus contorting yourself into somebody you never were. and the source song rules. the rewrite is sharp. the only homestuck parody i have sung at normie karaoke. i covered it recently
Baby Got Pants - thelof9 - Disciple, 2012 - it's funnnnnyyyyyy. also i'm jelly because i can't roll my rrr's. locked out of leijon VA forever
Nitram Come Home - OhDearLordie - Damara, 2013 - this person's VOICE!!! chills!!! hard time picking one of theirs but i already put a disciple song on this list
oh but also Idle (Aranea), and and and Crew Like Mine (Midnight Crew), and Watch What Happens (Jade), 8etter Than Revenge (Vriska/Aradia), Shoot Me In The Ribs (Gamzee), Grand Highblood's Song, We're Doomed, and and and...
truly i would put everything i've ever played at a Beyond Karkalicious panel in here. but that selection does reveal my bias away from slower ballads and covers-with-quirks and towards higher energy and more involved rewrites.
i've said before repeatedly that anyone frustrated with underrepresentation of girls in fanworks neeeeds to turn eyes on the vocal scene. heartfelt, vulnerably produced girl content DOMINATES the medium and tons of this work got almost no recognition when it was posted.
but the vulnerability of the karaoke stage is what makes it "cringe", alas.

Omg so true story guys - there was a massive book sale going on I my city, which I was visiting with my good friend. And I found something incredible - the first Volume of homestuck in pristine condition. I immediately grabbed it, picked it up and Screamed '413!!'
People turned around, and then one by one they started clapping before we all started singing 'You can't fight the homestuck'!!
Truly a magical experience for such an important day 💕💗💚

The Book That Will Try And Eat Your Hands.
The year is 2X1X, and 30ish years before that, a new type of book had been made: The Living Book™
The Living Book™ is not actually alive, it is just a format that lets books do things that books could not normally do. Like have voice acting, videos, or even sections where you have to play a game. (This isn't going to be about Homestuck.)
A new Living Book™ released, and a lot of people are talking about it. It's wearing inspiration from another well known Living Book™ on its sleeve: "psi kid 2" A Living Book™ you've never read, but one you know enough about to know you would enjoy reading if you did. So you decide to buy the one everyone's currently talking about:
"HoleBound"
A story about a kid who falls into a hole, and is stuck underground. It's primarily about the great characters met during the story, and its unique interactions with them. Then you get through the prologue, start reading the first chapter and...
The book starts trying to eat your hands! Someone in the book looks you dead in the eyes and says "YOU MORON!" It obviously can't eat your hands. It's not even strong enough to hurt you, let alone damage you. But dang! This might be really funny and definitely makes reading the book way harder! It's common place to just watch someone else go through a book like this, and plenty of people do. Tons of them just to see people's reactions to what happens in the book.
Maybe you read it yourself, maybe you don't. But you know this for a fact: You loved it, it's one of the best things ever written. When you get to the end, a character addresses you directly. They tell you: "I know how to get an even better ending, one where you could even get the book to stop trying to eat your hands." So you do it, follow their instructions down to the letter.
It! Is! Amazing! You're crying tears of joy, even getting to go back through the book again without it trying to eat your hands! It is fantastic, all of the characters are grateful you finally got the book to stop trying to eat peoples hands.
Then, a compartment in the back of the book pops open.
Out of it falls supplies to seal the book closed. It's the only way to make sure they'll stay happy, reading the book again risks the book trying to eat people's hands again. You will never be able to enjoy this book again, or any of the magnificent characters you got to meet within it, but it's the only way to truly end things.
Tears fill your eyes as you do, but...Finally, it's over.
You aren't really satisfied though, it was such a good Living Book™! Surely there's plenty of things other people have written about it! so you look it up and
People are eating the book. They. Are.
EATING!
THE
BOOK!
LITERALLY
This isn't just a clickbait thing either. The chapters of the book are wildly different from what you read, as the characters within are reacting to people EATING THE BOOK. This is the ONLY way to get specific information on the backgrounds of the characters you love so much, it even gives unique information on how the world works. This ends up being so popular, that there are multiple entire fanworks that are Just About Eating The Book. In fact, there's so many now that there's even an Eating The Book Multiverse for just some of the fanworks about eating the book.
You ask a friend about it, and they're like "Oh yeah, it's absolutely my favorite part of the whole thing. I 100% recommend eating the book, but if you can't this guy has a great video on it. He even sealed his book, so you get to watch him rip it open too." You might even look at them like they're insane, but at the end of the day: It is just a book.
It IS just a book.
No one in there is actually happy the book is sealed, they're just written to act that way. They are not real.
You are now sitting in a room alone. Looking at a sealed book. Remembering all of the good times you had with it, all the characters that made you laugh. All the tears you shed fighting with it, the time spent sealing it closed. You would wipe away your memories of it to experience it for the first time again in an instant.
Asking yourself just one question
Am I really going to eat the book?
. . .
This is effectively what it felt like to play Undertale when it released.

I love alt!Calliope and Ult!Dirk conflict, because they're similar in ways but so different in another.
Like, Dirk is always was about action. In homestuck alpha kids enters medium because of him, and even his relationships with Jake impact others (and basically starts trickster arc, lmao), and exactly him tolds about that alpha kids basically needs only waiting and they never was supposed to have some kind of action. (Funny thing: Calliope after her death is basically the same)
and he also can't stand his other versions and himself. (Funny thing that it's basically about ALL Dirk's. Dirk can't stand AR, then Ult!Dirk is very aggressive towards Dirk, and more and more and more).
His meat epilogue filled with actions, with some story. With some kind of actions, his epilogue has a storyline. He knows that reader is there, and reader is waiting something to happen, and he makes it happen. But no one osked what "something" reader is needed, right?
With another side, Alt!Calliope have a "meat" character too. She is cold, strong, confident and he took superiority over her brother. Despite that, when she meets her "weaker" version, and when she ask Alt!Calliope what she needs to do, she answer: "live." (Also, funny thing: when Ult!Dirk meets his "weaker" version he just freaks out and became even more control freak and he is even smile ONLY when Dirk "thinks" like he do.)
And in candy epilogue characters just.. Live. Of course almost every one have depression and etc (half joke ok. Does Earth C have a psychologists at all?), but they're live. No fight with Lord English, no questions and answers, they're just live, even if well.. Bad. But, as rose say, with this whole situation, "they have what to do."
And it's difference between them: when Dirk growed up in survival mode, he now can't just live. He doesn't know how to. He always needs something, and he make it. In meat epilogue everyone in action, or everyone who he choose to be. Trikster mode (that basically make you forget all your troubles and just have fun) doesn't affect him at all: he just can't. Because he is to busy with being himself.
And alt!Calliope growed up in survivale mode too, but she don't want this to others anymore. And in candy epilogue, characters, again, live, even if not so happy.
And with another other side, they're both have favoritism and neglect in their epilogues:
I know that candy epilogue writed with usual black text, but when you're imagining that it's writed by alien with red color text it makes some sense. Like, how Jane suddenly got Jake, and Jake even didn't care about Dirk that much (I know he could be just tired of him but... You know he can but alt!Calliope could increase that feeling like Ult!Dirk made Jake's affection towards him obsession with him.), how Roxy live happily even after her failures? And how Dave basically agreed to suicide to became ultimate self and davebot and guess who have a weakness toward Dave and our alien friend with red color text knows it? And how in meat epilogue davekat became canon because Dirk "helps" them too? How Dave basically became a Main Hero of that story? And Jake, who neglected by him.. I don't know at that one. It's could be a nice gesture, like "live how you want", because he isn't included in team that will go after Ult!Dirk to stop him, or it could be a truly neglect gesture. Sorry.
And also that's funny that Ult!Dirk in some moments talks to reader and in some way he "feed" reader (reader is reading thing - he awaits that something will happen.) With that he thinks we want or with that he wants. And alt! calliope is like just don't care about reader she just don't care
In the end I'm just laugh about how they're have similar base, but they're so different in the end, it's just funny. Is Paradox Space have a psychologist? Anyone? Huh. Not so good for them, I guess.

Hey look. I’m autistic and I’m probably bad at conveying and reading tone, but I’ve read through what you wrote several times, and what I meant with my ask was to show support and be against the people attacking you. I pride myself on being an ally for people of color, I’m an activist, I go to rallies and demonstrations and I donate to good causes, so I’m not used to being attacked in that way, and I got defensive. That’s not an excuse, just an explanation. It genuinely seems like you misunderstood, but it’s not unlikely that I did as well and for that I truly apologize.
When I sent the ask I expected you to agree that tldr: homestuck is a good place for diversity, and people *should* be making the characters poc and with diverse body types. Clearly I didn’t get my point across in a good way, and I’m sorry that it appeared as one of the many attacks you’ve received today.
Hope you have a good day, and that you’ll forgive me for not being clear enough.
Don't worry about it man, I've been on the side of not being understood. I do not trust many anonymous asks especially if I can't fully decipher them and their not direct enough for me to be SURE it's positive or just a general convo. I'm usually extremely chill and understanding but once again, the whole thing yesterday has put me in fighting mode.
I think ANYONE COULD have interpreted it as good but anyone could have interpreted it as bad as well. I especially picked it up as bad bc honestly, I had a few people come at me with positivity but extreme ignorance TELLING me I shouldn't call racist ppl racist and that NO ONE would recognize my designs of the characters as the characters, even though PLENTY of people HAVE. Tell me that my art work is good, they couldn't recognize them bc it's not canon, even though once again... The things they list aren't canon either.
I perceived your ask as one of those people who simply are ignorant and live in it with bliss and simply wasn't the case and that's it. It's ok for me to be wrong and once again I'm sorry for lashing at you but I don't think I'm wrong for reacting the way I did either.
There's nothing really for me to forgive bc you didn't have any ill intent, and I don't really know you like at all so I don't really have anything to be mad about.

So I have begun reading the infamous 2010s webcomic Homestuck.
A memo (ugh, word ruined) of me, and vocalizing my thoughts, at what, around page 2680 or something currently 4122. Published for venting my own insanity for the greater un-good.
KEY NOTES
PSS: Past Shiranai San
CSS: Current Shiranai San
___
CSS: And this isn't even ironic, I just lost my mind one night and wrote half this draft and then proceeded to read 2000 more pages like 2 weeks later and I cannot let PSS's thoughts die for the sake of making a cohesive post. If you don't want to read, TLDR; Shit is WACK. I'm loving it, all is well. If you do, take a gander at the read more section. Also, obviously, spoilers.
PSS: I sit here on the edge of finishing the second act of the fifth act of Homestuck.
Approximately a fourth of the way done and questioning myself what madness I have found myself swept away in.
Floating at the top of a mammoth-ian wave. Not my first, when reading. As I have been washed onto many waves. Floating in a vast sea, as one act brings me down one wave and onto another. Like I'm riding an aquatic rollercoaster.
As quoted from Kanye West's song Dark Fantasy, can we get much higher?
PSS: In every piece of media, there is a suspension of disbelief that comes when partaking in media. For the past month I have hung my disbelief on my wall next to my 2016 Artistic Cat Calendar.
How higher can we go though? I mean truly? Perhaps it is my own hubris that I cannot visualize the true complexities that come from Green Sun-Paradox Clone-Troll Romance-Multiple Timeline deli levels of baloney.
And I can't even be mad as I slip into this whirlpool of time paradoxes and too much Charles Dutton.
Because I love it!
PSS: I'm enthralled in the ever looping structure of the story. Where, every moment in every character's life exists to perpetuate SBURB/SGRUB. Including their own existence-
CSS: Current Shiranai here, taking over the post. While my past self has made a compelling argument. She did however forget the ever important fact that the most extreme macaroni will happen in any Alpha timeline. Rookie mistake, but it's not something I'd expect from someone with only ~2000 pages under their belt. Her trespasses will be ignored.
In any case, yes, it has been a long ride, similarly to Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea. With this post being the marlin I have strung to my boat.
My belief as to why I have been so captivated to Homestuck so far is because it truly is a coming of age story which deals with themes (so far, because I haven't finished it yet) of loss, crossing cultural boundaries, friendship, love, hatred, and questioning the aspect of your self will vs what was always fated to happen. Also a lot of war and genocide.
...A lot.
CSS: But instead of taking in these classical themes as the usual audience, a bunch of plucky tweens and teenagers from the 2010s, I get to experience it in the foresight of a young adult with the consistency of leftover Papier-mâché.
CSS: If I had to generalize my experience so far. Reading Homestuck has been a lot like watching a group of middle-schoolers take place in the world's worst emotional hacky-sack game. Where every kick, one middle schooler flies a felt ball into emotional heights. Only for it to face plant into the ground of heartbreak. As half break down into tears and the other half memes about 90s sitcoms. Until one of them gets so fed up with the game that he saws the floor and 2/3s of the game's population in two with a chainsaw.
Which then accelerates to dealing with matters-beyond-human-comprehension, as well as ascension to god-hood as a way of fighting off an omnipresent being. Until the fourth wall literally supernovas into the main plot through banner art as I sit in History 101 with Professor Scratch.
CSS: It's just a lot and I've been having a lot of fun with it.

You know what's utterly, completely, truly diabolical?
I named my account vriska888 but I've not even reached her introduction in Homestuck. Even better, I stopped reading soon after Dave, John and Rose entered their planet-world-plane things. I've only ever seen Kanaya and maybe Karkat or Nepeta? I've definitely seen Jack the doggo and the mail post delivery soldier guy who chopped off his queen's finger, stole the ring, equipped it and then turned into Jack the flying dog with a scarf and a sword through his abdomen.
Actually, I think the farthest I've ever gotten was when Jack with the sword in his abdomen was fighting John's dad?? It's confusing. Mostly because I can't remember.

STOP FUCKING GATEKEEPING FANDOMS
This is my fucking mood when people bitch and threaten me over cookie pronouns. The cookies do not care. It is a game for all ages. And this will be my last ramble. But lemme give yinz a fucking wake up to how cr haters see us.
Tumblr media
Video i found awhile ago and hated that i can agree with on some of it.
youtube
Ive had good experiences and bad ones with the fandom. But hot damn the fact this person calls the tumblr part of us out should be a wake up call. I originally saw this video and got upset. But after ive got death threats over cookie pronouns. YEAH I AGREE MORE WITH THIS GAL. Like holy fuck. I love the fandom and not everyone gatekeeps. But good lord. What the fucking shit is wrong with you? Let people enjoy things that arent hurting anyone.
Calling someone out for aging up characters to draw porn is deserved. Sending threats and harassing people over the fact they aint using the pronouns you headcanon for x cookie, THAT'S FUCKING TOXIC. I dont wanna hear it.
I do my damned best to keep my ask blogs as sfw as possible. As well as keep my main safe too. Granted on main i do reblog gore on occassion.
I honestly think some of yinz need to fucking chill out. I was in homestuck back in 2011 - 2017. Maybe 2010 i can't remember. But we all were fucking batshit shippers. We all had opinions on what could be what ship. But ya know what? At the end of the day. Hussie was like "all ships are canon" and that was that. I will literally go full homestuck to prove a point here. I know damned well how i used to act. Heck even in roleplay on ye olden sites i can't remember. We all were civil. If you didnt like someone then you ignore them. You know how many people i blocked because i hated the ships they liked to share? A fucking lot that's what. Hell me and a friend back then disagreed on so many ships but we fucking shut up and just mellowed out. We did full on roleplays for the middle ground stuff. Which is fucking badass.
So it begs the question. Why can't cookie run chill? Why can't the gatekeepers just go block the people they disagree with over fighting? Because you aint gonna get anywhere. Now if you ask me politely and we're friends, sure I'll do it in pm. But i aint gonna bend over. I don't even do that shit for my best friends i know in person. Hell when i went to a con in fursuit years ago. My bff called me the wrong pronouns and i dealt with that the whole con. And that's something i care about. But yet when its fucking fake characters, nobody can have nice things.
Tell me how this is ok? Gatekeeping makes people see that first. Then they make judgments off that as "everyone must be that way since these dummies stick out." Same shit happens with any fandom. But hot fuck. The dumpster fire these things turn into.
Sending me death threats via pm is fucking disgusting. And its happened for M O N T H S. Yeah i don't give a fuck about your shitty gatekeeping. Go fuck yourself. Because that is literally proving my point as well as why people hate the cr fandom as a whole. They see that shit that's innocent then have to rip everyone apart.
Its a game for all ages. Its literally got an E rating in the Google play shop. You think kids who play this give shit over genders?? Its a g a m e.
So either block and move on. Or shut the fuck up and don't gatekeep.
Yo newsflash. This is the internet. Everyone sees what you say and nothing can truly be deleted.

Classes represent your role in the story
Now I'm a filthy homestuck and I was thinking a little bit about the classes and I realized that you can think about your class as your role in the story.
Enjoy.
Witch-the Rebel:
Somethings wrong with the world. Maybe there's a evil power controlling it. Maybe it's been corrupted by lies. Maybe it's inactive or useless in solving problems. Regardless, it is your job to rebel against the tyranny of the world and change it for the better.
(Ex: Elphaba from Wicked)
Heir- the Chosen One:
For whatever reason, fate has determined that you are to be the one to fulfill the prophecy and defeat the villain and save the day. This upsets you because you have about 0 clue what is going on. All you know is that you have powers that you don't understand and seem to escape by miraculous circumstances. It is your job to understand your own power become worthy of your destiny.
(Ex: Harry Potter)
Mage- the Mentor:
Your life is not easy. You have been through many experiences and suffered much. Because this you've grown wise and learned the ways of the world. You have also grown cynical and pessimistic. Now it is time to lay aside your past to teach what you know to ensure the survival of the world.
(Ex: Yoda)
Seer- The Guide:
All your life you've felt called like something has been telling you that you have a destiny. You've learned all you can believing it to be necessary. Now it's time for you to lead your companions along the right path. But beware hubris and make sure that you act of your own will not that of an outside force.
(Ex: Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson)
Maid- the Prince(ess):
You have a lot of responsibilities and expectations on your shoulders. People expect you to be a certain thing and achieve greatness. You want to live up to these expectations, be the hero people think you are and help those in need. Many people are trying to influence and control you but you must become independent if you are to become who you are destined to be.
(Ex: Princess Allura from Voltron)
Sylph- the Caregiver:
You've always seen the suffering of those around you and wanted to do something. Now you have the opportunity to help those in need. You care deeply about your companions amd want to see them achieve their full potential. The group won't survive without you but you must also now when it's time to let people go.
(Ex: Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls)
Prince- The Redeemed:
I'm not gonna lie, you've probably made some bad choices. Maybe you were afraid. Maybe you had a serious misconception about your own destiny. Maybe some other force coerced you. Somehow you ended up on the wrong side or you made some mistakes that cost you and other people dearly. It is your responsibility to rise above your errors and redeem yourself. Become the hero you were meant to be.
(Ex: Zuko from ATLA)
Bard- the Wild Card:
you.... no one knows what you're going to be. Are you going to be the unexpected savior that prevents certain doom? Or are you the unseen threat that nearly destroys everything? Unlike the others, your fate is entirely up in the air.
(Ex: Gollum/Smegol from LOTR)
Knight- the Warrior:
you are the knight in shining armor, the lone soldier against an army, the shield in front of an oncoming blast. As a knight you are charged with protecting your friends and fighting evil. You are the person of action who can't sit still when the fight is going on. You try to be strong but you must remember to be vulnerable every once in a while. Only then can you truly be the one to vanquish evil.
(Ex: Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail)
Page-the Underdog: At the beginning of the story you are the stereotypical wimp: weak, underconfident, easily pushed around. People try to protect and help you which only makes you feel useless. You may try to overcompensate and end up hurting those closest to you. You must learn to let others help you and you must find the hidden strength that you have deep inside. Only then can you reach your true potential and become a force to be reckoned with.
(Ex: Jaune Arc from RWBY)
Thief- The Lone Wolf:
You've got this whole detached loner thing done. You're just looking out for number 1. Everyone else be damned right? You don't care about ANYONE. Just kidding you secretly have a heart of gold and the whole "i look out for myself and no one else" thing is an act. Get yourself together and help the people you care about. Save the world and bask in the glory.
(Ex: Han Solo from Star Wars)
Rogue-the Companion:
You know, you never wanted to get mixed up in any of this. You were perfectly content living a normal life with your friends and family. But evil forces are threatening the people you love and there's no way in hell you're letting them face them alone. You will stick with your friends to the bitter end.
(Ex: Samwise Gamgee from LOTR)
Lord- the Monarch:
You hold a lot of power in this story. Maybe your a king, a wizard or a god. You think your vision for the world is best and people should do as you say. However you need to learn that what you want might not be the best thing for the world. Now you have to decide if you will be a great leader who will guide the world forward or a cruel tyrant who will hold it back.
(Ex: Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls)
Muse- the person behind the curtain: People underestimate you. They don't respect your opinion and often try to keep you down. Little do they no the power you hold. You are secretly changing events from the background. You must work against fate and the forces that have kept you down and be a force for good.
(Ex: Oz from The Wizard of Oz)

If the fandom is the only good thing about Homestuck, we would not have a fandom. Because Homestuck would not be worth being a fan of.
It exists because Homestuck, for all its faults, is incredible and truly unique. Having flash animations within its comic form wasn't wholly unique, but the length and breadth of its inclusion, combined with the scale of some of its animations, was something to behold. [S]Cascade literally broke Newgrounds from traffic because we were eager to see the first update to take more than a month to release, and it was worth it. It has some of the best characters and some of the most divisive (Looking at you, Vriska). And, though fandom involvement has shaped the course of the comic (at least the first half), the comic itself has shaped the course of fandoms in general (I recall a post that explained Homestuck's influence and effect on conventions)
Yes, Homestuck has its problems (and they should still be kept in mind). But we can't ignore the fact that the comic itself left an indelible mark on so many of us, and in fiction/fandom spaces in general.
There's a reason it's "You Can't Fight The Homestuck" instead of "...The Fandom"
something that irks me quite a bit is when people disavow the shitty stuff in homestuck by saying the only good thing about it is the fandom instead of engaging with the source material critically. i think it is really sidestepping the issue. like i get it, i get that such hostility has been encouraged by the author's antagonistic creative persona and absolutely incoporated into the work itself but i personally do actually like the source material for what it is despite being incredibly critical of it and the author's writing choices. idk. trying to pull this misunderstood ass version of death of the author by acting like the material's only worth lies in being raw material for a fandom to feed upon and repurpose into its objectively better form, and just overall lionizing the fan community rubs me the wrong way

on a side note, what the hell is the point of troll call?  like, are they in the hiveswap universe somewhere?  are they going to get introduced in subsequent hiveswap games?  or do they just exist because hussie likes to hoard barely fleshed out characters?  is more info going to be introduced at some point or are they all just going to be three-point blurbs forever?
