TV Executives: “if the strike goes on, you won’t get new episodes of your favorite shows! You won’t get new movies you were looking forward to! Isn’t that terrible, what the writers are doing to you?”
Me: Bitch, that might have been an effective threat in 2007, but we have since survived a Covid shutdown and discovered ways to amuse ourselves while we waited, we can outwait this shit, too. I got a pile of shows saved I haven’t even watched yet, and a Mt. TBR waiting for me.
Compensate (and respect) your writers for their work, assholes.

Posted this to twitter earlier and just going to drop this here, too.
Planning to get back to playing with a Zorn inspired pallette and though I'd share some stuff for people who don't know.
Anders Zorn was a Swedish painter, active in the late 1800s, early 1900s. He painted a lot of portraits and became well known for his limited palette.
Mostly he painted with a combination of yellow ochre, cadmium red, ivory black and titanium white (on occasion, he might have added some cobalt blue for his landscapes, but for portraits, those four paints seem to have been his go to).
Most combinations of an earth yellow (though Yellow Ochre is easy to get, non toxic and vegan), a warm red (something like Pyrol Scarlet, PR254, is my choice for a non toxic alternative) and a cool (blue leaning) black (Like Lamp Black) with titanium white will work just fine.
The muted nature of the yellow ochre and cad red/pyrol scarlet build a great base for natural looking skintones that aren't too oversaturated while both the black and the white further serve to desaturate the resulting orange.
So, if you struggle mixing skintones, I'd highly recommend giving this a try!
All the pigments mentioned are lightfast and artist grade, the alternatives to the og palette are all non toxic and vegan.
The palette works for more opaque media like oils, gouache, acrylic and tempera as is, for watercolour simply leave out the white and use your water to lighten your mixes. If you want to add a blue ultramarine is a good non-toxic alternative to cobalt.
A limited palette simplifies painting and harmonizes your paintings. It takes away some choices that might result in muddy colours or indecision and is a great way to start painting in colour that does not require buying a BUNCH of paints.

Adorable end to an adorable story
Eobard Thawne (Flash) - Chapter 18
“What do you mean it’s up to me?”
Eobard is baffled.
Explaining your theory to them is easy, but for your partner, well it wasn’t as easy. You were trying not to be too blunt, but maybe that’s how you needed to lay it out.
“Okay, follow what I’m saying very carefully. Eli didn’t run here. He is a speedster, but he was transported here against his will. From what I gathered, it’s just like when you came here. Long story short, in the future you’re sort of a dick to him, so I think his purpose for being here is so that you can fix that. You get me.” Eobard frowns.
“You want me to babysit some kid that claims he’s our offspring. You guys really are gullible. No wonder the bad guys always best you.“
“Hey for your information we always win in the end!” Cisco defends. He becomes quiet at your look.
“He’s our son Eobard.”
“If you believe every lunatic that runs in here with a half-cocked story then you really are naive. Don’t let your soft nature be the reason you get hurt (Y/N). I’m sure you’re not that stupid.” Eli’s jaw clenched.
“Don’t talk to my mother that way!”
He looks pissed, and Eobard doesn’t step down.
“You really think you can take me kid?”
“I have no issues beating the crap out of an old man.” He retorts. Both males look angry now, and your shoulders sag.
This is going in the opposite direction.
“Please don’t fight.” You place a hand on Eli’s shoulder, and when he looks at you, all that defiance seems to melt away. He looks down defeatedly. You know he just wants to mend things, but with Eobard’s personality, logic is sometimes not very easy.
“Listen, I don’t want to fight you. I know you don’t trust me. But I’d never do anything to put my family in danger. Even though you can be a grade A asshole sometimes dad.”
“Oh! Language!” Eli chuckles.
“Sorry. Even though you’re hard to get along with sometimes.“ He looks over.
“I still love you.”
Eobard is silent.
“I know the reason you’ve always been scared is because of your past. When I was growing up mom told me stories. I thought that was all they were, but I heard grandpa West and uncle Barry talking about it one time. They were saying how much you’d changed. How proud they all were.” The information catches you by surprise.
“You’re tough because you’re terrified one day I might accidentally go back and see a monster, or worse yet, become like you. That rage that you used to have, I’ve got the same thing. I was born with it. Inherited it. I guess as the years went by the colder you got, and the more hurt I felt, the easier it was for me to be angry than accept the fact that there was a part of you that just didn’t love me.”
The hurt is now impossible to hide, and you want to comfort him, but right now, you’re not the one he needs comfort from.
“So I get it dad I do. But you’re not that person, and I’m not going to wait around forever for you to start acting like a father.” His words hurt, and you can tell they’re getting through to Eobard.
From Eobard’s expression you know he’s lost. He doesn’t know what it means to be a parent. He was still working on himself. He takes a step forward, holding out his hand, and Eli looks down.
“I can’t make any promises for myself in the future. But..I’ll do my best.”
You know he’s trying.
“I can work with that.” He takes his hand, giving a firm shake.
Eli smiles now, and so does Eobard to your surprise. It’s crazy how alike they look now that they’re smiling. You can’t help it, this moment is too precious. You rush in hugging them both and Eli starts laughing.
“Mom, this is supposed to be our moment.”
“I know I’m sorry I just really need to hug you two right now.”
Eobard offers no complaints.
Maybe he could have a future after all. Despite his many mistakes. There in a small circle, it all just feels right.

Eobard Thawne (Flash) - Chapter 17
Eobard, Barry and Cisco are working out a way to get Eli safely back to his time without tampering with anything. Since the boy was overly excited to see the speed lab, you’d offer to give him a little tour.
Though a part of you just wants to study him more. You’d like to say that this is crazy, maybe he was some villain trying to get to you all by playing on a weakness. But when you look at him, you can’t feel an ounce of ill intent. If anything he feels..familiar. Like you know him. He also has Eobard’s image, even the freckles, but your eyes.
“I can feel you staring, mom.” You flush.
“I’m sorry.” He just shakes his head, leaning his back on the wall as he admires the build.
“It’s fine. I get that this is a lot. Can’t say I planned for this to happen.”
“Wait, I thought you did. You ran here didn’t you?”
“I didn’t.”
Now you’re confused.
“I was at school then this big time hole thing sucked me right in. Dad’s always been really strict about time travel. He warned me never to do it. It’s like the number one rule of my powers.” His eyes drift down to his feet.
“When I came out of it I sort of got scrambled and I ran into you. Sorry about that.”
You just smile. “It’s okay. You really don’t have to keep apologizing. Speed healing, remember.” He grins.
“Totally forgot about that.”
You both let out a little laugh, and once again you’re looking at him. You’ve seen Nora travel back and forth countless times, so it’s not like the whole offspring traveling to see their parents thing is new to you. But this time it’s your child. It’s a bit incredible to say the least.
Eli’s expression though, it looks a bit distant. Sort of the way he was when he looked at Eobard.
“Eli, I’m sorry if I’m crossing a line, but is your relationship with Eobard not good?”
You can see the fleeting look he gives. He tries to mask it quickly.
“Nah, it’s not bad. He’s like most dads you know. Tough on their sons. “ He lets out a laugh, but this one doesn’t sound as joyful as the first one.
“Just because he’s hard on me it doesn’t mean he doesn’t love me…right?”
You feel your heart tug. The fact that he has to ask that question says it all. You can’t stop yourself, you move forward, pulling him into a hug. He doesn’t even hesitate, and you get the feeling that he’s used to this. Your affection, and it warms your heart. You rub his back, he sighs.
“I know I’m already fifteen, but I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of your hugs mom.” you smile.
“I’m glad, son.”
Those words make him hold on tighter, and a feeling of warmth washes over your body. When he pulls back, you hold his cheeks, admiring him.
“I can’t believe I made such a handsome boy. I got some good genes, didn’t I?” He laughs.
“The best genes mom.” He commends.
You’re both laughing again, and Barry strolls in. He feels a bit bad. He doesn’t want to break up the little moment. Seeing you like this brings a sense of nostalgia with his own daughter. You finally turn when you catch sight of Barry.
“I’d like to say I have good news, but I don’t. I’ve tried running back to his time, but the speed force is blocking me. It’s like it doesn’t want to let me through. “
“Trying to run him back won’t work. I think I figured out why he’s here, and how to get him back.”
Eli looks astonished.
“Really?!”
“Yeah.” He cheers.
“You’re awesome mom! No surprise there.”
He lifts you up, giving you a spin and you giggle.
You could get used to having a kid.

Lol just wait until you meet Thaddeus
Eobard Thawne (Flash) - Chapter 16
“I can’t believe you’re being so childish.”
“How is it childish, you’re literally infatuated with him.”
“He has been my enemy for many years.” You just continue to glare.
In your mind you know you’re fussing over nothing, but still, the least he could do was know your birthday. Sitting in the room begrudgingly, you pout. A smile works its way on Eobard’s face. You hadn’t exactly left the lab, you just ran to his room to vent.
“Trust me, you have nothing to worry about. Allen is the least of your problems.”
“I don’t know about that, I feel like if he were a woman you’d probably be chasing him instead of me.”
“Who says he needs to be a woman?” Your mouth falls open and he just smiles.
“Kidding. I’m kidding. I just wanted to tease you.”
“NOT FUNNY!!”
Eobard just continues to laugh. It’s adorable, your little reactions.
You know he’s about to give another snide remark, but you pause for a second. Eobard’s laughter gets a bit softer when he sees the change in your posture. You stand, tilting your head and looking around.
“Is everything alright?”
You’re unable to answer, because you aren’t sure.
“Something feels off.”
You head out the door, and Eobard follows. When you’re both standing in the cortex, Barry lifts a cupcake.
“I’m sorry (Y/N)!”
Something tells you it’s about the little scandal earlier. But he doesn’t get a reaction, there is no response.
“(Y/N)?”
“Do you guys feel that?”
Barry wants to ask what exactly it is you’re referring to. You lift your palm, and those sparks are back. The ones that appeared when Eobard first came with his crazy news. You flinch, because even with your speed, the attack that comes hurtling your way, you aren’t able to avoid. Your body is slammed into a wall, and you grunt.
Sliding down, you barely catch a glimpse of Eobard going into a frenzy after whatever it is that just hit you. He grabs the individual, and you stumble to your feet. Whoever it is he now has by the throat. You realize it doesn’t look like some notorious metahuman killer. It’s just a child.
A boy.
“D-Dad! Stop it’s me dad!!” The blond haired child is pleading, and Eobard doesn’t fully register his words, but he moves his hand. Barry and the others are on guard, and it’s then that Cisco speaks.
“Did he just say..dad?”
Barry facepalms.
“Just great, more time travel.”
When you’re fully upright, the boy takes in your appearance, and his eyes brighten.
“Mom!!” He moves to run to you, but Eobard steps between him, glaring.
“Who the hell are you?”
Said male looks a bit frantic.
“Oh right, I forgot you guys probably don’t know who I am.” He his throat, puffing out his chest in an attempt to look taller than Eobard.
“My name is Eli Thawne. I’m your son.”
Your jaw is practically on the floor, and you point to yourself, then Eobard, and Eli nods.
“I know, this is cool right! Sorry about the crash landing. I really didn’t mean to hit you.”
Eobard still looks like he’s trying to wrap his head around it all. There’s doubt written all over his face.
“Are you saying that we’re your parents?”
Eli looks a bit less sure of himself.
“Uhh, yeah you are.”
The way he watches Eobard a bit wearily has you questioning some things. You still don’t fully believe it.
“How about we all take a seat.” Iris inputs.
You’d need more support than that to deal with this.
